I remember about Al-Shabaab controlling Somalia, since I have a Somalian Girl Friend. You must see, not like a girlfriend, but a friend who is female ;).

Anyway, she and her family fled northern Somalia, where it was less warlike but still dangerous. She told me the ICU Army indeed came in to Somalia to free it, but that most of Al-Shabaab fled to nearby Kenia (if that's spelled in my language, I'm sorry), as well as Ethiopia. It seems to me that the ICU can't handle it, since the leaders are corrupt, and thr government equally. They need to get it together if they are to get rid of this threat.

Men, Africa is *****ed up. Al-Shabaab in the East, Boko Haram in the West, and IS coming out of Iraq to Libya to fight there. The safest place to live now is propably South Africa, or perhaps even Madagascar.

And I life in Holland. My fellow countrymen are fighting in Mali, Libya and Iraq against terrorists. I'm closer to those threads than you are, those across the Atlantic.

No offence.

Don't worry, its fine. Its totally fine to tell someone that the continent they grew up in, spend most of and their childhood is ****ed up. Good job.

By the way, just because you tell someone no offence doesn't mean that they won't take it offensively. The fact that you seem not to know that just makes me think that you just stated no offense without actually meaning it. In addition to that, what do you mean by "I'm closer to those threads than you are, those across the Atlantic."

In terms of you saying "Kenia", its Kenya. That is how it is spelled by multiple people, and that is how it is known by the majority of the world. Kenya is the Swahili(a national language in Kenya) pronunciation. I don't mind other countries having different ways of spelling and stating it, but Kenya is how it is spelled. The pronounciation is Keen-ya.

I don't know why your friend thought that Al-Shabaab went to nearby Kenya, went it didn't. Perhaps near the border, that I can agree with, but Al-Shabaab has not gone very deep inside Kenyan territory. I am certain I would have noticed if they gone very deep into Kenya.

The Islamic Court Union, aka the ICU was created before Al-Shabaab. Al-Shabaab is what happened after the ICU went away. I believe it sprang up after Ethiopia decided to invade Somalia so Al-Shabaab have always been in Somalia, they did not decide to go to Ethiopia, or Kenya.

By the way, South Africa and Madagascar are not the safest places in Africa. I do I myself am curious to know how you can come up with such an odd thought.
