Greetings, SWRP!
It is with a sad heart that I announce the passing of the Queen of Alderaan, Amelia Antilles, due to a sudden illness. Having passed away without naming a specific Heir to the throne, ancient rules of Succession have now gone into effect to choose the next King or Queen of Alderaan from the potential candidates in line for the throne. Each of these Heirs are prominent members of House Antilles and have become popular among the people in their own ways, making the decision by the Conclave of Judgement likely to be long and difficult. The longer Alderaan is without a ruler, though, the more the planet could lose it's prestige and power in the Core of the galaxy and with the Republic it helped found. This has made certain elements in the Alderaanian government desperate, leading to an opening for outside influences and organizations to attempt to shape the Succession and leadership of the planet to their own ends.
Each of the four factions will have an Heir that is aligned with their interests, of which agents of these factions will be participating in threads meant to either increase or decrease their viability to be chosen for the throne. The threads will take place in a specific location on Alderaan with an overall objective to succeed or fail at, though the challenges and solutions to these objectives will be created by both Player and the DM in charge of that thread. Players will be free to take any action they deem necessary in the thread to complete it successfully, while the DM will describe the consequences of their actions and help move the thread along to new areas and challenges as needed. The imagination is the limit for what can happen in these threads, meaning anything can happen during their course.
The Heirs to the throne are as follows:
Werner Antilles: A man in his late twenties, he is a librarian and seen as a kind and gentle scholar. Friends with members of House Organa, his somewhat scraggly exterior coats a devious mind that runs in line with his supporters. He is currently working on changing the learning curriculum for Alderaanian children to paint the Jedi in a more positive light while omitting certain facts entirely, something he cannot fully do until he is King of Alderaan. If successful, the Jedi will have gained significant ground in repairing their standing with Alderaan and the Republic in general.
Lucille Antilles: A woman in her mid twenties, she helps maintain the network and communication infrastructure of Alderaan. A skilled Slicer, she has many friends in House Ulgo, a House being influenced by the Hutt Cartel, who help her keep the flow of information going for the common people and works to keep them happy and content. There have been attempts by some of the more corrupt elements of her friends that have tried to maneuver her into their pockets to start spreading pro-Hutt propaganda, yet up to now she has managed to avoid being caught in a blackmail scheme. As of now her loyalty is to the people of Alderaan first, though it is a mystery what would happen if Ulgo and the Cartel were to succeed.
Henric Antilles: A young man in his early twenties, he has been involved in the legal system of Alderaan ever since his mother passed away under suspect circumstances early in his life. He is a skilled spy and employs an intelligence network that answers only to him, having recently branched out to House Thuul for support thus gaining some Exiles under his employ. He appears to want revenge above all else, having figured his mother's killer to be a high ranking noble of another House, and only wants to use the position of Head of House Antilles as a tool to carry out said revenge. He will take whatever method he can to bring justice to this man, whether it's legal or not.
Kalendros Antilles: A man in his late twenties, he spends what time he isn't training for military drills and other martial tasks by working with the agriculture industry on Alderaan. He's the most combat proficient of all the Heirs yet he actually holds no personal ambitions for rising in station. This fact combined with his willingness to help anyone in need, even the lowest commoner, has made him immensely popular among the people as well as House Harlow, whom he trained with in his younger years. A consummate knight and noble, as well as soldier, he will easily follow whoever is crowned the Head of the House, though perhaps there may be a way to convince him to be the man for the job instead.

As for the threads themselves, they are different based on which faction and Heir they are set to affect and potentially harm and benefit. The scenarios are as follows:
Scenario 1 (Jedi): Werner Antilles is hosting a fundraiser at the library that he works from. Players must successfully aid Werner in making it through without making any outbursts or social faux pas, despite some unexpected encounters that will pop up to test his patience and resolve.
Scenario 2 (Hutts): Lucille Antilles is set to produce a talent show to show off the skills of the people of Alderaan and paint them in a positive light. Players must find a way to make Lucille become indebted to the Cartel through actions such as rigging the contest or planting false information to air on live holofeeds.
Scenario 3 (Exiles): Henric Antilles is sending assassins to kill the highborn murderer of his mother, though there is a high chance these agents will be found and killed or captured. Players must either make sure this attempt is stopped or it succeeds in a way where Henric is not implicated.
Scenario 4 (Independents): Kalendros Antilles is responding to an earthquake having ravaged a remote town in the mountains of Alderaan. Players must help him bring relief to the townspeople while also trying to convince him to throw his name into the ring of contention.

Please post in this thread if you want to join in these events, stating which character and faction you will be working for. The road to the throne of Alderaan will be a harrowing one, though once the new ruler is crowned it will certainly send shockwaves through the rest of the galaxy for years and generations to come. May the best man or woman be chosen, and may they have loyal and competent supporters to help them achieve their goals.
