Alone in the Dark (Pre DoTR)

[Six]

-Sent on an escort mission, Semira Erates and her master were tasked with safely escorting an important diplomat and his son from a growingly hostile world into the safe Republic space. However, finding out about the importance of this individual and the possibility of Jedi getting involved, the Sith master Lotan Dis has placed a trap for the coming Jedi.

When leaving the planet their ship was followed and attacked by three ship freighters. The third freighter being that of Lotan's aprentice Cesserus.

Assesing the situation the Jedi master had landed on an asteroid mining facility and droped off the diplomat and his soon, leaving them in care of his padawan Semira Erates while the master left the facility to serve as a decoy for the Sith ships.
Semira now had to find another ship and safely finish the mision or contact the Jedi Order.

However unbeknownst to them, the Sith have decided to target the Padawan and while two of the Sith ships have went after the Jedi master the third freighter, one belonging to Cesserus has landed on the mining facility...

Semira Erates had accompanied her master on a mission to escort a diplomat into safety. She had thought it would be a fairly simple and actionless mission, but Semira had been very wrong. Just after departing the planet, they had run into trouble. Now tasked with finding another ship on an asteroid, the Padawan was trying to do just that. She was not having much luck. It seemed like the mining facility that occupied the asteroid were no Jedi or Republic fanatics. It was also Semira's duty to protect the diplomat and his son from whoever had decided to attack their ship. And one of the three ships that had been pursuing had landed on the asteroid.

 

[Six]

The almost empty hangar echoes with the sound of the Sith's steps. The minig facility has been shut down and is mostly empty, only residents being a handfull of miners and administrative workers.
The facility was in Sith territory so the sight of Cesserus or any other Sith activity was not unusual.
Knowing that the Padawan is probably trying to find a way out and the other hangar is on the lower level, Cesserus makes his way deeper in the facility, following the young Jedi and making sure to make his pressence in the Force felt, wanting to cause more uneasines to the young, inexpirienced Semira and to distract her thoughts hoping it to affect her decisions.
The Sith knew the facility mzch better and it was only a matter of time untill he reached her..

Semira was debating on whether to try to borrow a ship from the mining facility, or just steal one. The diplomat and his son were behind her, following her lead. The Padawan could tell that the son was afraid. The diplomat she wasn't so sure about. Busy trying to find a ship, Semira barely felt the Sith above her. But when she did, she started to increase her urgency of finding a ship. The hangar was empty. Semira knew this because the mining facility had not been put on alert when her master had dropped her off.

 

[Six]

Taking an elevator he forced open with his lightsaber, Cesserus descends down to the lower levels.
There was even less staff down there and he knew that his target is close since the elevator led straight down to the hangars and the battle with tge Jedi enemy was drawing closer.
Cesserus left the elevator and walked through a halway leading directly to the room where young Semira was..

Semira, feeling the Sith approaching, immediately led the diplomat and his son to behind some crates. Then she looked around and hid behind some other crates, not very close to the diplomat. Hand on her lightsaber, Semira waited for the Sith to enter the hangar.

 

[Six]

The hangar seemed empty at first but it was the only logical place for the Padawan to be.. Cesserus took a few steps towards the middle of the room, looking around. He then proceeded to focus, letting himself to float through the Force knowing that if the Jedi was here in this room and if she was hiding he could surely pick up on some of her emotions, or at least on emotions of hrr companions.

"Your fears betray you." the hooded black figure spoke, with his mask muffling and disguising his voice. "You cannot hide yourself from me... Jedi." Cesserus calmly said as he reached out with his left hand and grabbed one of the crates with the Force, tossing t aside and revealing the young human and his father behind it.
It was the son's fear that the Sith picked up and these two should be a sure way to luring the Jedi out..

Cesserus grasps the boy's body with the Force and lifts him in the air with ease.
"Jedi! Now would be a great time for you to show yourself.. or you can just hide and watch me snap this boy's neck."

Semira saw clearly what the Sith was trying to do. Lure her out. He even stated it outright. The Padawan was also almost sure that even if she did come out, the Sith would still kill the boy. Semira knew she had the obvious disadvantage. But perhaps the Sith was not as cruel as she thought he was. Semira had to try. She stepped out from behind a crate, and spoke.
"You got what you wanted, now will you play fair, or be a cruel killer?" The Padawan didn't know how the Sith would react. Her hand was still near her lightsaber, as she had next to no doubt that it would come to that. Semira, however, would not strike first.

 

[Six]

Cesserus turned his head to the emerging Jedi Padawan, still holding the boy in mid air.
'' A little girl ? I was expecting the Padawan to be a bit older '' the Sith said calmly said while still holding the boy in mid air. His mission was clear, the target was the young Jedi and the two diplomats were not in his interest at all, still Cesserus thought that having the two around could prove usefull, either to manipulate this young Padawan or blackmail the older Jedi.

The boy flew a few meters to the side, being tossed by the Sith
-'' I have no interest in these two at all, but you will witness.. cruelty.'' -Cesserus said as he raised his left hand upwards, hurling a nearby crate at Semira which the Jedi had no problem evading. She was clearly still holding back but visably prepared to fight, he saw that she was indeed determined but it also seemed she was unexpirienced, and that this might be her first life threathening situation.
Cesserus arched his back, taking a battle stance and pulled out his signature unorthodox lightsaber. The lights in the hangar were dim and most of them were not working and now the Sith's red fiery blade was shining the brightest, throwing some more light on the large room.

'' You're all alone now little girl.. '' the Sith said as he started to charge at the young Semira @Reya Starlyght

Semira was relieved that the Sith had not killed the boy, but he could of still harmed him. She had already failed. But the Padawan did not want to fail further. She had easily sidestepped the crate that had been thrown at her, and now saw that the Sith was charging. His lightsaber would pose an unique threat. Semira was not sure how to deal with the twin crossguards. She decided to try to not get too close to the Sith. Pulling out her lightsaber, she ignited it, as if to counterattack. The orange blade reflected upon her amber eyes, creating an effect of certainty. When the Sith was nearly on top of Semira, she skillfully flipped out of the way, and maneuvered her saber to a defensive stance.

 

[Six]

Cesserus immediately realised that she was quick on her feet and agile and as such she might possibly a practicioner of forms of combat that are usualy seen with such agile and thin individuals.
Both the crate toss and this last lightsaber attack were executed just to see the Jedi's natural reaction to it and to quickly pinpoint her prefered style and ways of combat.
After she dodged the strike Cesserus continued with his attack, striling twice for her head and once at her legs but the Padawan was able to block all three and kept moving back as if she wanted to create some distance between herself and her assailant.
Cesserus swung his saber again this time with more power, almost as if he was wielding a sledgehammer, but Semira once again succsesfulky dodged and backed herself away from the Sith

Semira continued to dodge the Sith attacks. She was backing away slowly and practically unoticabley, from the diplomat. Semira's first duty was to protect them, and that was exactly what she was doing. But the Padawan knew that dodging could not continue on forever. She could see that the Sith was quite a direct attacker, although that being said, he probably had some tricks up his sleeves. Dodging slightly to the right and back, Semira was setting the Sith up. This time, directly after moving back, she charged his left side. At first having her saber in her left hand, and then she moved it to her right, spinning at the same time. Semira was trying to hit the Sith's side, and slightly in the back. This attack was not really for damage, but more to see exactly how the Sirh would react to being attacked in an area his saber was not easily manuverable to.

 

[Six]

Seeing the incoming attack to the left side of his body Cesserus side stepped to his right evading thr lightsaber by inches. This move was possible only because he held complete focus on the Jedi's movements still trying to analise her movement patterns but the evasion of the strike had also created distance between the two, something this Padawan was clearly trying to maintain since the beggining.
Arrogant as he is Cesserus did not want this to change his plan of attack. He gripped his hilt with both hands and started to swing at the Jedi but from a relativly safe distance, intending only to hit her with the edge of his blade.
The Sith's attack now utilised a broad power strike, hoping to either push her back against a wall or to throw her off balance @Reya Starlyght

Semira saw how the Sith had reacted, dodging the blade by mere inches. This told Semira that the Sith was more used to fighting in close quarters, rather then in open space. The Padawan was not entirely sure,however, to continue the battle. She could tell that the Sith was trying to corner her. He swung his lightsaber towards her side, and Semira nimbly flipped over the blade, landing to his left. Not hesitating a second and seeing an opening in the Sith, Semira charged him, and aimed a strike at his unprotected side.
(Note: I just assumed that strike was from the left side if it was otherwise I'll fix it.)

 

[Six]

The arrogance and overall egomanical mentality got the best of Cesserus. The price was paid for underestimating the young Jedi and he was struck in his shoulder, his light armorment that was beneath the robes softened the blow but his shoulder was still injured by this cut.
Pulling back and grabbing his shoulder Cesserus was angry but he was not going to make the same mistake again.
Seeing that the Jedi was indeed a high flyer and probably an ataru user he was confident in his aproach as he had already beaten a few ataru based attackers.
Spinning the lightsaber in his right arm Cesserus aproached Semira nad took another swing at the Jedi's head, this time witha one handed grip while he kept himself focused and left the other hand empty preparing for a force based attack if it was needed.

Semira felt her lightsaber cut into the Sith's shoulder, although not as deep as she would of expected. The Padawan had not been expecting that the Sith was wearing armor. Caught up in her thoughts, Semira did not see the Sith's lightsaber coming to attack her, and the only thing that saved her was an instinctive block of his blow. Not expecting the Sith's strength, Semira was caught off balanced, and although she did not suffer any injuries, she was forced to the floor. Immediately rolling away from the Sith's blade, the Padawan sprang back onto her feet. She hadn't focused, and that had almost ended her.

 

[Six]

Seeing that his attacks have been succesfull Cesserus intended tobtake full advantage of the staggered Semira. The Jedi had rolled away from him but was still fairly off balanced. The Sith had already previously prepared himself for a force based attack, knowing that the Jedi felt safe while distnced from him he was planning to catch her off guard once again. Cesserus raised his left hand towards her swiftly, strained his entire body, focused his anger and generated lightning out of his fingers..

Semira, now back on her feet, immediately saw what the Sith was doing next. She moved her saber out in front of her and took a defensive, two-hand grip. The Padawan braced herself for the lightning. It struck the saber head on, and was bounced harmlessly onto the floor. It didn't make its mark. Semira did not move, as she guessed the Sith would attack her again. He was certainly attacking differently now.

 

[Six]

The padawan was better then Cesserus expected. Fast reflexes and overall battle awarness was pretty high for someone so young. But she was still just a Jedi child, the Sith thought to himself.
Cesserus levitated one of the crate that was behind Semira and propelled it at her back. If the strike is succesfull the padawan would probably be knocked down, if however Semira was able to evade Cesserus would be able to get her to a close quarter combat again, and his lightsaber was ready...

Semira was surprised that the Sith had stopped attacking. And then she realized he hadn't. It was too late, however, and the Padawan got hit directly in the back by the box, getting shoved to one side and loosing her grip on her lightsaber. It flung out of Semira's hand, and landed, deactivated, about 10 feet away.
