Yes, you read it correctly. Along with the Alternative Star Wars Saga, I now have plans in the works for an Alternative Star Trek Saga. The ASTS will be a re-imagining of the original Star Trek TV series and will follow the established canon of Star Trek: Enterprise. This re-imagining, titled Star Trek: Federation will focus on the five year mission of Captain James T. Kirk and the starship Enterprise as they work towards peace with the Klingon Empire and the Romulan Star Empire. "Episodes" will feature stories that are completely original, ie. written by me, while others will be nearly identical to original Star Trek episodes, such as The City on the Edge of Forever. The cast of "Federation" includes:
Matt Damon as
Captain James T. Kirk
Adrien Brody as
Commander Spock
Gary Sinise as
Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy
James McAvoy as
Lieutenant Commander Montgomery "Scotty" Scott
Rosario Dawson as
Lieutenant Nyota Uhura
Daniel Dae Kim as
Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu
Wes Bentley as
Ensign Pavel Chekov
Sienna Miller as
Yeoman Janice Rand
So far, I have written the synopsis for the first episode of the series and I have begun the script as well. The first episode, titled simply “Enterprise”, will be a “passing of the torch”, so to speak, from the crew of Star Trek: Enterprise to the crew of Star Trek: Federation. The episode description is as follows:
“After a horrific massacre on Gioghe at the hands of the Romulans, James T. Kirk is promoted to Captain and is given the command of the starship Enterprise, succeeding now-Commodore Christopher Pike as its commanding officer. At Kirk’s official swearing-in ceremony, a deranged Starfleet Intelligence operative bursts in and begins to spout out information about the late Commander Charles Tucker III, the legendary Chief Engineer of the original Enterprise. Starfleet Command brushes it off as nothing more than the words of a lunatic, but the leader of a shadowy sect of Starfleet Intelligence known as Section 31 contacts Captain Kirk en route to Starbase 13 to tell him that the information was correct: Charles Tucker did not die the way Starfleet Command said he died. In fact, he could still be alive. At Starbase 13, another former officer of the original Enterprise, T’Pol, is secretly transferred aboard Enterprise to aid in a desperate search for the truth that could mean the difference between war and peace with the Romulan Star Empire.”
The guest cast of the episode is as follows:
Robert Duncan McNeil as
Commodore Christopher Pike
Jamie Bamber as
Commander Gary Mitchell
Jolene Blalock as
T’Pol
Connor Trinneer as
Charles “Trip” Tucker III
Scott Bakula as
Jonathan Archer
More information on the guest cast for this episode will follow soon, as will segments of the script. It is interesting to note that some of this script is based off of the novel titled “Enterprise: The First Adventure”, “Star Trek: Enterprise - Last Full Measure” and “Star Trek: Enterprise - The Good That Men Do”.
Stay tuned!
