Guinevere's message actually reached her in the heat of an intense moment, so that she still found her geuine very sweet, however she couldn't dwell on the message as her focus laid elsewhere. She was furious by then after reaching the Governor, shocked by the audacity this brick possessed.

It was way overdue that the douchebag got removed, but it remained yet to be seen what the Council of Desevro would make out of the Empire's interference. For now, as the TIE fighters came crashing down, they did a pretty decent job with defusing the armored and armed vehicles within seconds by mercilessly bombing them from above and incapacitating them.

As for the Governor though, the cunning bastard still had a few tricks up his sleeve. While she didn't have eyes on the target yet, his apparently most entrusted gunmen started rushing out of the vans and opened fire, so that Kalique was forced to slid into cover once again. Ducked behind the crashed van, she waited for the reinforcements to arrive, however after hearing a commotion in the back, she assumed the Governor was on the run again and taking his chances.

Through the continous hail of fire, she couldn't escape from her cover and was forced to wait for the incoming ships that would hopefully process the remaining rebels quickly. She had no idea how much time passed, but perhaps it were a few minutes of her just waiting and trying not to dive too deeply into her emotions thatbwere triggered by her own pain and the infuriating circumstances all around.

As the TIE fighters finally rushed over her and dealt with the laser canons, she sprang out and darted forwards, her keen eyes scanned the scenery quickly, wanting to gain an overview as quickly as possible, but the Governor was nowhere to be found. Not wanting to end up in a crossfire and now even slightly limping, she decided that staying in cover was a strategically better move and so she waited until the fire finally died down.

"Mansion secured...still in pursuit of the Governor", she briefly updated Guin, hoping over the second van's hood and trying to track the man that needed to be brought to justice, but she didn't really have to keep looking for long as she soon made out his body amongst the chaos. "Found him. Looks pretty dead" not that he deserved any better, but this way there would be no trial and she wasn't sure how the Desevro Council would have treated him. "I'm coming back to you". The Imperial ships were also starting to look for places where they could land and so Kalique slowly made her way back to the plaza.

Another wave of relief washed over Guin as she finally heard about the governor's fate. There definitely would be some higher-ups that would be unhappy with a dead body, as one cannot interrogate them. But in this moment the agent was just happy for it to be all over.

While they waited for Kalique to return, Guin began by giving an overview of the situation to the lieutenants that had come to her position. The details about how and why they had come to possess such information were left out, but they would now understand that the governor had become unstable due to his own actions and had attempted to seize power illegitimately.

Imperial might secure order once more on Desevro, but not without the aid of a certain Imperial Knight. Among the casualties were several members of the council who sadly succumbed to their injuries although it was clear that without Kalique's intervention, it would have been significantly worse.

Once left to her own devices, Guin made the short trip back down to the surface. A councilor immediately recognized Kalique once she returned and beckoned her over to their small group. "This is the one," he said with a hearty smile.

"On behalf of the Desevro people, we thank you for what you did for us today. Please tell us who you are so that we may honor you." For her actions that day, Kalique would soon be told that she was to be named a hero of the Deservo people and would be always welcome on the planet. Guin lurked just off to the side, happy to stay in the shadows but fully enjoying watching as civilians returned to the plaza despite requests from the Imperials for them to stay back.

The people wanted to get a look at their new hero and cheer for her, many faces approached to give her thanks and offer appreciation. The councilor now turned to the gathering crowd to make an announcement.

"In honoring the wills of the people of Desevro, we will petition the Imperial government for our imminent return shall they have us. So say the people, we as your council will do." Shortly afterward, an Imperial medic made their way toward Kalique to offer her some assistance with the injuries she had sustained.

Guin couldn't believe how successful this trip had been but recognized also just how dangerous and close to things going wrong. Waiting around for the crowds to clear, she'd eventually attempt to sneak Kalique away for their eventual debriefing and flight home. The pair had worked so very well together despite the shakey start, with Guin picking up many useful things.

Alone at last and walking through the city, Guin could finally see firsthand the injuries that Kalique had taken. "Are you quite alright? I couldn't imagine doing half of what you did today, that was amazing! Come, let's get you rested up on my shuttle and you can tell me everything that happened."

Upon her arrival back at the plaza, Kalique was actually quite relieved to see Guinevere in a relatively unscathed state - at least from an outward perspective that was. Still, she assumed that the agent had been just as caught of guard as her and surely she had found herself in a rather perilous position.

She only caught a short glimpse of her though as she was immediately approached my one of the Councilors. Her modesty was genuinely as she dismissively gestured, an almost slightly sheepish smile on her lips as she said, "It doesn't matter who I am exactly. I'm representing the Empire and it seems like they have aided you well". It turned out that the survivors were indeed grateful and after he kept insisting on learning her name, she finally gave in.

Kalique was almost overwhelmed by the overly positive response and was caught in a crowd for quite a while before she was finally free again. She was genuinely grateful for how this had all worked out in the end and how this mission had done a lot for the reputation of both, the Empire in general but also for the Knights.

They handled a few official things before she was finally able to leave and get a chance to talk to her co-captain while starting their journey back into Imperial territory. "Yeah...that sounds good. I could really use some bacta. But yes, I'll survive" she assured her first, waving off her worries and walking back to the shuttle with her where she'd start tending to her wounds.

"Can I just say that you did an amazing job out her? I mean wow...that was your first mission and you mananged to keep your cool well". While she had been overshowered with praise, Guin had actually done all the background work that was completely vital to their shared and overly sucessful endeavor. "No one gets to see what you did...so thank you. The Empire appreciates your work and so do the people of Desevro...but obviously I couldn't yell them about you". A tired, yet warm smile tugged at her lips. "We've been a good team".

Shortly after arriving at the shuttle, Guin pulled out her medical kit and opened it on the table for Kalique to get the necessary items. A familiar pinkish glow returned to her cheeks as the knight layered compliment after compliment upon her christened with a happy smile.

"Th..thank you!! It's okay, I'm used to it. Normally I'm stuck at my desk anyways and moving on to the next task without even finding out how everything went so to see it through firsthand was the best!"

The people of Desevro would likely never find out about her involvement in the day's events, but that didn't bother the agent one bit. The fact that she got to work in the field at last, achieve some good, and learned so many new things about herself was payment enough. At Kalique's last compliment, Guin's smile beamed from ear to ear.

"That we are, and I hope that we get to work together in the future again soon. Get some rest, I'll let you know when we're home."

Guinevere felt a little awkward filing her next report about the mission. Her supervisor was particularly interested in Kalique's actions on the mission and specifically requested any details that might show any unsuitability. It wasn't too strange considering the weird position the Imperial Knights held within the new empire, and had she not meshed so well with this knight perhaps she would have felt more neutral on the matter.

Finishing up the report she hit send, wondering what if anything, it might result in before reclining in her seat for the long flight home.
