I don't know where to begin.

I support Anonymous' methods when their justification is noble.

Do you support their methods in this case?

It's touchy because it has to do with law enforcement - Though at some point even they need to be held accountable for their actions. And well, sometimes to make an omelette you have to crack a few eggs.

Fighting injustice with more injustice solves nothing. I don't condone anything Anon does.

Have you never heard of fighting fire with fire?

Live by the sword die by the sword, peaceful protesting will always be better than violence or injustice. People should be taking notes from MLK or Gandhi, things like #F--kdaPolice, or lets go murder pigs as people are saying is only going to make things worse.

They're manipulating the form of the argument in this case. If the police harm protestors, they release private information (which I assume means phone numbers, email, home addresses, GPS locations, etc.) to the public. That puts those people at risk and constitutes a "victory" for Anonymous. If the police don't harm protestors, we're led to believe they are acquiescing to Anonymous' demands; another win for Anonymous. It looks like little more than a power play to me.

I find it hard to condone cyber terrorism.

Oh I would far from agree with any actual physical violence - Though the threat of the personal information release I am okay with. It seems they haven't done much more than disrupt communication lines and shut down email at this point.

I believe in the greater good. The means by which it is achieved are up to those who have the ambition to do so.

So you ruin peoples lives and you think if they release their addresses some fool won't try to go there and cause harm?

Then that fool should and would be dealt with accordingly.

I find it hard to agree with you here. What is the greater good? Who gets to decide whether or not it is good?

Then that fool should and would be dealt with accordingly.

It wouldn't be an isolated incident. The threat was the release of personal information on the entire department. Aggregate the situation. It just becomes violence, regardless of how it's dealt with.

But you're fine with ruining the lives of family members (people not even involved) just because they are associated with a person that may or may not be guilty. I don't see the logic in this at all.

History is decided by the victor, the actions of both sides are wrong, but that really doesn't matter. Whoever 'wins' the heart of the public will, in twenty years from now, be remembered as the 'heroes' of the story.

I'll admit, I find it hard to pull myself out of the anonymous mindset sometimes. I've been on those boards for a very, very long time so their methodology is almost routine for me. I can see how from a normal perspective it exudes no logic.

Terrorism is usually only understood by the ones who are perpetrating it.

Anonymous is mostly hype. I find them generally irrelevant. What's not irrelevant is the ongoing issue of police brutality, particularly the constant murders of African Americans in manners such as this. That's what we should focus on, rather than what some vigilante-wannabes in their moms' basements have to say about it.
