Appearance
Arai is a handsome man of average human height and weight, with shoulder-length raven black straight hair that has a steel silver tint when exposed to light. He is commonly noted for his natural black rimmed, deep red colored eyes, a distinctive trait received from his mother. He has the facial traits of Asian ethnicity and keeps his face clean shaven. His slender body is well toned with defined muscularity from two decades of physical training. His ordinary facial expression and good body posture often depicts him as being solidly composed. Arai has been wearing the traditional robes of the Jedi for all his life that to him they seem like ordinary clothing. After the battle of Coruscant, Arai started to wear ordinary casual clothing, t-shirts, trousers, boots, etc. due to him having to hide his identity as a Jedi. He also sports a black leather jacket with inside pockets and straps to keep items like his lightsaber hidden. On the left side of chest, Arai has a tattoo of the Bendu sigil representing his commitment to the eight folds path and his birthright as a Jedi.

Personality
Arai is a very mature, calm and patient person, traits he innately gained from his benevolent upbringing while growing up on Tython. Due to the teachings of New Jedi Order and their philosophies, Arai developed a strong morality and unconquerable will that the corruption of the dark side has so far failed to penetrate. He sticks by what he believes in to be true and rarely ever doubts himself even in situations where the odds are greatly against him. This is why Arai strongly stands by and speaks with conviction no matter who believes in him or not. This has made his self-confidence and determination the reason why he never gives up and keeps pushing himself to achieve his goals and life purposes as a Jedi. He is a compassionate and caring individual to others, often being helpful as he can be, but his firm control on his emotions depicts him as inscrutable by those who don’t personally know him. He does not open himself up to anyone he doesn’t know or trust, yet displays genuine respect to everyone, even people he don’t like, until they lose it from him. Arai presents true and deep loyalty and trust to those who have earned it from him. When with friends and loved ones, he shows more of his talkative side and protective nature. He has a good sense in humor and even has time to crack jokes while in heated situations. He takes his duties as a Jedi seriously and his vow to uphold to the Jedi way is deep and unbreakable. However, Arai has a deeper sense of self-devotion and follows his own way of thinking. He is analytical, preferring to discern people and deduce things for himself. It has enabled him to think with right reasoning, make better choices, accurate decisions, help see through deception, and prevent from acting on reckless impulses. This is because Arai believes in having free will and freedom of choice, to believe whatever he wants to believe. It has been pointed out he is naturally insightful without having to rely on the force, such as being able to interpret the motives of others through their words, actions, and physical behavior. When it comes to wanting to study something, he puts his focus and thoughts into what he is trying to learn and figure out. The process of his mind and cognitive retention is slightly above average for a human. Something of note is he does not believe in manifested destiny or trust in visions of the future but perches that everyone living being is free to make their own choices in life and suffer from the consequences of their actions. This is why he finds it necessary to always seek reason in everything he does. While seeing himself as a peacekeeper and guardian to civilization throughout the galaxy, Arai dislikes violence and discourages the use of aggression but, he will engage in combat if he finds a reason to. He doesn’t seek out battles if there is no need to and usually tries to do what he can to find a quick ends to it. He is a preserver of life, rather avoids taking away life but will do so if he is left with no other choice.

Goals
Arai’s wants to see the universe beyond a single view point, believing having knowledge in both Ashla and Bogan philosophies that he can understand the universe in a large perspective. He wants to have the power and skills to help others and prevent evil from taking over everything in the galaxy and bringing an end to the Jedi. He also wants to complete his training to become a full-fledged member of the New Jedi Order by earning his knighthood so he can carry out his purpose to bring a positive difference to the galaxy. The ten years hiding and training on Arbra has made him want to become a Jedi Sentinel since he doesn’t want to be limited to just force skills and relying solely on his lightsaber, but also having a greater variety of other skills in his repertoire. The rise of Jedi Hunters has also made him want to become a Shadow to assistance them in their efforts of being what he calls a ‘Jedi Agent.’ He personally wants to reclaim the Tython system from the Sith Imperium so that he can enjoy being back on his home planet Tython and rid the polluted damage done by the Sith. He has a strong interest in the ancient histories and origins of the Jedi and wants to learn more of the Primal Force. He wants do what he can to fix the broken reputation of the Jedi caused by the Sith and Dark Jedi. Arai hopes see to the day when the Sith Imperium regime comes to an end with the destruction of the Sith order. That an elected, non-Sith controlled, Republic legislation can once again govern over the galaxy. He hopes that people throughout the galaxy will once again see the Jedi as the physical embodiments of galactic peace and justice. Overall, Arai desires a civilized galaxy at harmony, the force of the universe to be in balance, and be to be back on Tython so he can explore the planet. He does not know exactly why he must journey through the planet, but believes there is something there he has to discover for himself. He desires to have his own gear, equipment, and weapons that he believes will be able to assist him on his missions and prepare him to take on the dangerous of the universe.Likes/Dislikes
Arai has a deep passion for his Tython ancestry and Jedi heritage. He likes to learn and discover new things about the ancient Je’daii Order ever since he found out the order originated from his home planet. As a kid, he came to appreciate art by being surrounded by the natural beauty of Tython and architectural elements of the temples. Despite his love for colorful arts and craft, he likes dark colors, with his favorites being black and gray, and likes any color that goes well with them. He likes simple and tradition clothing, but will wear casual and formal clothing when necessary. He likes to play games of strategy and skill like holochess, sabacc, and pool and solve problems to pass time. He likes to win, accomplish something daily, and keep his skills sharp. He likes to get a morning and night exercise routine of jogging, push-up, crunches, etc. each day to stay fit. He fancies traditional and melee weapons, being deeply fascinated by bladed weapons. He adores fine swordsmanship, martial arts and an honorable dueling. He likes to fly through the sky to get a view of things and travel through space to witness its marvelous wonders. Arai dislikes unreasonableness above all other things he distastes. He dislikes those who misuse and abuse the force to cause pain, suffering, bring harm and death to living things. He dislikes beings that are disrespectful and can’t be trusted, even grown to loath traitors and liars to the highest degree. He dislikes drinking anything that isn’t mineral water and dislikes eating pork and bacon, and several types of alien, but will drink other things on occasions and out of respect will eat foreign food. He dislike using blasters and wearing anything that he feels will slow him down, but will to save his or someone else’s life. It displeases him when he can’t rely on his natural skills to accomplish something and hates not being prepared for anything. He distastes dogfights. He dislike swimming or diving in water where there are giant sea creatures lurking about. He doesn’t like it when people are sad and seeing them when they cry. - Virtruvian Wanuk: A Jedi Knight and close friend to the Munkaira family that took great interest in Arai and personally trained him in Aurum as a kid. The two spent a lot of time together when Arai was still an initiate, became good friends, and remained in contact while Arai was his mother’s Padawan. During the Battle of Tython, Virtruvian helped Arai get to safety and stayed to defend their escape. That was the last time Arai ever saw or heard from Virtruvian. Many assume that he died during the battle but Arai knew if he had, he would have felt him go through the force, which he didn’t, making him believe that Wanuk is still alive somewhere. His current whereabouts and status are unknown. (NPC)- Cotan Sar’andor: A fellow Padawan that Arai met during his time on Arbra and got to know. The two of them were sent on a locale mission where they discovered native Hoojibs living in a hidden city below the temple on Arbra. Arai often attends classes and trains with Cotan in hopes that they would see each other become knights.
- Ze’kyre Saixc: An old friend of Arai that he first met back on Tython. Arai developed a close friendship with him after Ze’kyre saved his life from a spider-bear and got to know each other. Arai had grown to deeply respect and trust Ze’kyre his life, and even refer to him as brother. When he found out Ze’kre had become a knight, he was more than proud of his close friend and vowed to one day join him in knighthood.
- Toph: A creamy furred Hoojib that was one of many Arai and Cotan had found in the hidden city below the Enclave and ever since been clung to Arai. The two of them are widely known as good friends at the Arban enclave by everyone since they are rarely ever seen not together. Arai has come to trust Toph to where he can be completely open around him and talk to the Hoojib about anything, even his most deepest personally secrets. (NPC)

Creation: In 2,017 ABY Arai created his lightsaber at the age of eighteen after he found a unique bluish-black crystal deep in an ancient Arbran city. In returning to his quarters at the hidden enclave, Arai meditated for an entire week to imbue the crystal with the force to be his primary crystal. With the meditation crystal Virtruvian gave him long ago on Tyhon as a kid for saving his life and focus crystal his mother gave him as a coming of age gift, Arai went on to construct his lightsaber with the three crystals.
Weapon Description: Arai’s lightsaber is a 30 centimeter solid cylindrical hilt of black and silver stainless metal alloy. The pommel was mostly silver with a set of six evenly spaced protrusions around end of the hilt. The emblem of the New Jedi Order is etched into the pommel cap in silver. When active the blade extends to a standard length of 36 inches. The primary crystal gave his lightsaber blade a coherent black core beam with a thin dark blue edge glow. The sound frequency of the blade is different than most lightsabers as the ignition produced a faint wailing sound while it hissed and the idle hum resounds in a deeper quality tone.
Special Modifications: When Arai imbue the crystal, he also registered it to his force aura so that the lightsaber could only be used by him long as the current crystal remained the primary. He didn’t install an activation button requiring him to use the force to activate, preventing non-force users from being able to use the weapon. The two extra crystals allowed a bifurcating cyclical-ignition pulse enabling it to be usable while underwater. A pressure grip in case he ever lost hold of his lightsaber so that it could automatically deactivate without causing harm.

History The starfighter used to belong to his mother as her personal means of transportation. It has been upgraded extensively from the era the vessel originates from. A miniature hyperdrive is installed into the starfighter for lightspeed travel without the need for a hyperdrive docking ring. Arai obtained ownership of Black Series after his mother's death and first used it to escape of Tython to Coruscant. He would later use his starfighter to escape from the battle of Coruscant and followed the Sundance Maiden till they came to Arbra, he was able to find a suitable cave to make his personal hangar for his fighter. Over the last decade Black Series saw little attention until he found it needed to transport him to places he needed to go. Getting more used to flying, Arai usually takes his starfighter out for a spin when he has time to practice. He recently has painted gray stripes onto his fighter, inspired by Jedi Master Voogo Vsil's Heart of Shakti to better personalize it into his own craft.

Arai was born with an incredibly powerful connection in the force, whether this was because he came from two strong force sensitive parents or being birthed on a planet considerable rich in the force remains unknown. However, the presence of his force aura is best described as majestic and pure, much similar to the sensation of the force on Tython and probably why he feels strongly connected to the planet. Since understanding his own force potential from a very young age, Arai has worked on mastering his force control through deep focus and meditation. His strong ability to empower himself through the force earned him mastery in control shortly before being promoted to Padawan. Strangely, his sense abilities came easier for him to get a grasp on that is believed to be another sign of his great control. His attunement in the force allows him to open himself up to a higher perception of what may and may not happen around him. Other Talents
While skilled with a lightsaber and potent with the force, Arai doesn’t believe in solely relying on either to solve problems or gain solutions. He is proficiently trained in unarmed combat, having over a decade of experience in martial arts practices that he has mixed together to make a style of his own. (As a reference, it is based on a mix of changquan, tegumi, kenpo, jujutsu and ninjutsu techniques.) This style is has been based on the methodology of Aurum in mind that his body must be power as it is fast to be balanced. In addition, he has a great and notable talent for analyzing and observing anything within his presence. His natural talent for deductive reasoning has turned him into a good detective and problem solver. He is great at mathematics and science, showing to have innate skill for computer engineering. He has some skill with electrical work. He is well-versed in Galactic and Jedi history, biology, geometry, human anatomy, philosophical logic, hoplology, modern technology, and military science. He has some skill in mechanical engineering, being able to fix and repair things smaller than or equal to a starfighter in some degree. He has artistic talents with designing and crafting. Act V. Stats
- Strength: From his training and exercise to keep his body in shape, Arai has the physical strength of a male able to support double his own body weight with ease. His strength however is not all that powerful due to his slender build, but packs a punch behind his strikes and has shown able to overpower most average human adults.
- Dexterity: Arai is ambidextrous with both hands and feet, being a great rarity for a human male. He has great control over his kinetic coordination that sparks elegance in his physical mobility. Arai is agile and flexible, shown able to perform acrobatics with ease and keep on his feet to dodge attacks.
- Constitution: The dieting of the jedi and daily exercises of training keeps Arai a healthy guy in excellent condition. His immune system backed up by the force that kept him from getting diseases and illnesses and heal his body of impurities much quicker than someone who can't sense the force. He can remain in functional conditioning longer than most humans from his higher than average stamina.
- Intelligence: Arai was highly studious as a kid, becoming well educated in many areas from his Jedi teachings. He is not a genius of any sort but his level ingenuity has made him cunning and quick witted. His mind is able to process and retain detailed information quickly and applies it to solve problems to situations he encounters.
- Wisdom: Arai can keep a level head and his wisdom is reflected in the maturity and in the way he puts his knowledge to practice. He has seen the mistakes of making the wrong choices and the consequences they bring, so he tries to think his decisions through with reason before following them himself.
- Charisma: His high confidence and strong determination is directly backed up by his will power. Even in times of great peril he can keep in control while under pressure and stays optimistic to keep hope and his purposes in life alive.
Act VI. History
Arai was born on Tython by a Jedi Knight couple, Karti Munkaira and Maya Luminas Munkaira, in 999 ABY. In the weeks following his birth Karti had to return to his duties as a Jedi Diplomat on board the Will of The Force, leaving Maya in the care of her new born son while stationed at the temple on Tython. Her motherly love for him grew with every moment of every day she spent and thought about him. Never could she stop smiling at the cute toddler that her eyes and reminded her of his father who she often missed. Regardless, he had a stable upbringing up till the age of four when he became an initiate to the New Jedi Order. His days became spent paying attention to his Jedi instructors teaching him of things ranging from the philosophies of the force to mathematics and diplomacy. He worked on having self-control in his physical training and putting to practice the knowledge he obtained in his every day teachings. When Maya took notice of his uniqueness in sensing through the force, she taught him deeper lessons of the Living Force and how all living things no matter how big or small are connected and bound together through the force. From that day forward, he saw to better focus his control in himself to not misuse the force but appreciate the gift and use it to serve for the greater good of the galaxy.
Arai excelled in his academic classes as the ideal student and often helped other initiates when they needed it. In his time at the temple, Arai met many and formed friendships with other Initiates and young Padawans during his classes and free time. Another young initiate, Ren Atori, became his best friend after their short time together while visiting Will of The Force and learning an important lesson in unity when they accidentally ran into a Corellian Captain, Harrakon Lubo. When he returned to Tython, Arai spent his time being more attentive and active in the Jedi Archives. His determination to learn and study the right ways of the New Jedi Order and level of self-discipline for his young age was noted by Jedi Knight, Virtruvian Wanuk. When Arai displayed having a stronger foundation on Shii-Cho, Vitruvian recommended that Arai be permitted to carry a practice saber outside the classrooms and be allowed to learn and train in Aurum, believing it to be more suitable for him. The council agreed to this, but did not permit Virtruvian to take Arai as his official apprentice but only be the initiates’ instructor in Aurum. Virtruvian did not understand why he couldn’t be the initiates master but did not go against the decision of the council. The knight managed to squeeze two long daily sessions into the initiates routine, eventually replacing his lightsaber classes and having one-on-one class with the knight.
Months into his lightsaber training with Virtruvian, the two of them went took a small journey to the Stark Forest on a speeder bike. What started out as a Sokan training exercise and spar turned into a fight for survival as they accidentally disturbed a nest of Hook Hawks and had to defend themselves from the swarm. Virtruvian drew their attention and held them off for Arai escaped from a nearby stream to block out the sound of the creatures from the splashing water. Arai was able to make his way back to the swoop bike, but he couldn’t allow himself to leave another Jedi behind. He took Virtruvian’s lightsaber, which the knight left behind while they used practice sabers, and headed back to help Virtruvian. Arai had planned to give the knight his weapon but found him unconscious and being attacked by the birds. Though he felt it was dishonorable to wield another person's lightsaber, especially before his time, he knew he had to if he going to save the knight’s life. He activated the lightsaber and cut sacks of water hanging from the trees, creating a constant noise of splashes to drawn out their hypnotic noises and managed to kill three of the hawks before the rest of the swarm retreated. Virtruvian woke up, surprised to be alive with only left ring finger torn off and cuts along his body and face, but instead of worrying of his injuries he was instantly aware of the gash Arai suffered on his chest and treated it with a bacta patch before attending to his own wounds. Back at the temple, Arai was recognized for his bravery and using the environment to help him in defending the knight. Later that day at med bay, he was given a focus crystal by Virtruvian as a gift of gratitude for saving his life.
At the age of 11, Arai was able to demonstrate his skills and knowledge in a tournament for initiates. On the roof of the temple on Tython, Arai had made it to the pre-finals in a fine display of having a firm grasp on Aurum for an Initiate but was bested by a Gungan initiate Tulala Lu. Despite not making it to the final round and winning, Arai was promoted to Padawan. Virtruvian even noted to his father, Karti that in time Arai could be the best Aurum duelist of his generation, much to the annoyance of Maya who took offense at the knight’s obsession with her son but said nothing of it. Just like the knight, Arai had thought Virtruvian was going to be his master but was surprised to found out it was his mother. A week after becoming a Padawan, Arai took his final class on Tython about surviving alone before personally turning his training over into the hands of his mother. There he met Jedi Master Shi-Hel-Gu and Padawan Ze’Kyre Saixc, the former using the force to push two Padawans out into one of Tython’s many ancient jungles. Together they faced many obstacles as they had to reach a jedi living quarters a few miles away. Arai then went to spend time with his father on board the Will of The Force . He reflected to his father about the things he’s learned so far as a Jedi and his experiences while in the jungles of Tython and the choices he had to make. Upon hearing this, Karti decided to have a private talk with his son about the conflicting wills of those touched by the force. Arai learned about his Ashla and Bogan ancestors during the Force Wars, the Je’daii Order and its philosophy, Dai Bendu Order, and what it all had to do with today. It was a lot for the young Padawan to take in, but Karti insured his son that in time he would come to understand and gave him his Jedi Holocorn containing more information on the things he told him, and also secret information that would only be revealed when the Holocorn deemed him ready to learn it. They had a duel in the flagships training room with practice sabers. Karti, a master Djem So duelist was easily able to defeat his son but only let the duel drag out so he could test his son’s skills. He noted that his son was different from when he was younger, much more reserved but holds back from using his true potential. When Karti asked him why he holds back even with a practice saber, Arai replied that he wanted to be ready to use a real one without killing, much to the approval of his father.
One year later, he lost his father on board the Will of The Force when it was destroyed by the New Sith Imperium in 1,011 ABY. In the days that followed, Arai spent his daily meditative sessions purging away his negative passions for inner peace so that he could help his mother deal with recovering from the horrible even. With the Galactic Alliance and New Jedi Order at war against the Sith Imperium, Arai saw less of his mother who had been promoted to the rank of Master and became more involved in the war effort without her Padawan son, freeing heavily for his safety. Getting over his time of grief, Arai took a more determined focus to his Jedi teachings to face the inevitable Sith Imperium. Arai sought out training from Virtruvian once again, but had to cut his training when the war finally came to his home planet. During the battle on Tython, Maya Munkaira lost her life in battle against a Sith warrior while protecting her son, leaving him in the care of Virtruvian stayed behind to buy Arai time to escape to Coruscant with Shadow and Black Series, telling him that he needed to survive so that the Order would have a future with him in it. In the process, Arai left behind the Holocorn his father gave him much to his dismay. Arai kept to himself in his time of grief, remaining in some quarters assigned to him that only made him miss his home and family even more. He meditated on finding the answers to understand the purpose of all the chaos and killing because it made no sense to him at the time. The force would not tell him, but did help prevent himself from being seduced by the dark side and overcome the consequences of giving into his stronger emotions. With the awareness of what the Sith were capable of, Arai would spent his solitude improving his saber skills and force techniques. Before he could be given a new master, the Sith Imperium had finally arrived to the galactic capital and attacked Coruscant. He didn't turn tail in run like the Grand Master had order. He fought for his life out of the chaos, losing his best friend and fellow Padawan, Ren Atori in the process. He barely escaped off the planet with the help of Jedi Knight Kendra Dan-Dover, where the two headed to the command center and escaped off planet with a group of jedi under the leadership of Jedi Master Larik Novan.
After his escape from Coruscant with the other jedi and fall of the galactic alliance, Arai felt greatly troubled by the scattering of the jedi after the lose of the grand master and alliance, now rebels to the empire once against after over a thousand years. Months he spent on Naboo with the other Jedi, getting to familiarize and making new friendships while still fleeing from the sith empire as they sought to secure their control on the galaxy. Their destination of choice brought them to the planet Arbra where they converted the old rebel base as their new home. The peacefulness in the force on the planet relaxed him, reflected back by its tranquil landscapes and colorful scenery. His mind calmed over the years getting used to the natural peace until he felt at serenity with the force. Arai worked well with the other Padawans in helping build their new home deep in the caves by reconstructing and upgrading an old rebel base that dated back to the rebellion of Palpatine's Empire. It helped him form bonds and trust in the jedi around him as he got to know them as time went by. Arai became friends with the native species of Hoojib, even befriended one named Toph that often followed him around on his shoulder. With the few masters at the temple, Arai saw himself potentially being each of their apprentices and treated them each as if they were his own master to learn from. By the time he was 24, Arai's training over the ten years had shaped him into a well trained and seasoned Senior Padawan. He however feels that his self training is still improper and with the Jedi once again coming together, he has started to attend classes once again to learn skills that he can not teach himself. While sparring against others he often recorded them to review them later as a way of learning. Arai even begun to attend missions. One day, he got a call from Master Von Raythe to meet him in a clearing deep in the Arbra jungle where the Master Explorer put him through a series of test that he passed. He thought he was going to be knighted, but it was actually Master Von's personally test to see if he was right to be her apprentice. Seeing this as an honorable opportunity and a chance to learn from one of the order's best Jedi, he accepted. The will of the Force was in his favor, as Arai could feel himself closer to becoming a knight and shadow. Arai was present when former Jedi Master and Shadow Keeper Larik Novan left the order after becoming disconnected from the force after saving his master, Von Raythe, and Loogo Vsil. He was sad to see him go, didn't really understand why he done so, but did nothing to convince Larik not to leave. Shortly after, Arai was now the apprentice to the new Shadow Keeper, Von Raythe.
