Artemis Bac
Republic Hot-Shot

BacMain2.jpg

I must have dreamed a thousand dreams
Been haunted by a million screams
But I can hear the marching feet
They're moving into the street

Now, did you read the news today?
They say the danger has gone away
But I can see the fire's still alight
They're burning into the night

Oh, superman, where are you now?
When every thing's gone wrong somehow?
These men of steel, these men of power
Are losing control by the hour

Composition and Appearance:
Artemis Bac is what you would expect from a Republic thrill-seeker. He is fairly tall, standing just over six feet, and weighs around one-hundred and sixty pounds. He is a gruff, brash looking man, with an unshaven face. Black hair is combed back and reaches just to the nape of his neck, and murky brown eyes are always looking for a new thrill. A thick neck runs into powerful shoulders, a product of countless years of a diligent soldier-life. He has conditioned his body to the peek of performance, and prides in his physical prowess.

Not one for elaborate fashion, much to the opposite of his wife, Artemis prefers simple, practical clothes. Plain black thermal shirts and military grade pants with comfortable, well worn military boots is his outfit of choice. Of course, when in the spotlight(which happens all to often do to his wife), Artemis will of course clean up, but you will never see him in dress clothes.

Personality:
Artemis is never truly happy on Tera-Firma. Born to fly high, Artemis was considered the loose-canon of the Bac family. A wild and free-loving person, Artemis lived to fly, and from an early age was enamoured with the Thranta. His parents were cautious of Artemis’ unruly personality, and often tried to guide him away from the wild life he so craved. They wanted him to follow in the steps of his ancestor, the great Jonathon Bac. Artemis could never live the rigid life of the ancient hero, he was to much of a maverick.

Incredibly caring and understanding, Artemis is driven by emotion. He harnesses the deep love for his wife and son into all aspects of his life. His wild spirit compliments his wife’s cold analytical view of the outside world. Not one to fool himself into believing he is bound for greatness, he holds a unique, humble belief of dealing with each day’s problems honestly and thoroughly.

History:
Born to the prestigious Bac family on Alderaan, Artemis Bac has always been somewhat of a free spirit. He was the child that was the terror of the neighbourhood. When he was thirteen years old, he discovered the thrills of flight, and quickly began pouring all his time and energy into taking up Thranta flying. His parents had decided years before that Artemis would never be a politician, but his passion for flying and the adventurous gave him a plausible footing in a career with the Republic military.

By the age of fourteen, Artemis had clocked five-hundred hours in the sky with his Thranta. However, the thrill of flying on the leisurely beasts was beginning to die. He needed to go faster, higher. His parents quite cryptically suggested military flight-school, at which Artemis quickly agreed to. At fifteen years old, Artemis was sent to a military base, where he spent four years training with the Republic Personal-Fighter Division.

At the age of nineteen he was a fully certified Republic fighter-pilot. He returned to his home on Alderaan a different man. The wild, unruly child that had left had been transformed into a smart, driven man with a real passion and skill for what he did. He spent six years on call duty, in which he was rarely called out, due to the relative peace the Republic was experiencing. At the age of twenty-five, Artemis was called out to help with a small uprising on Lan Barell, in which a small pirate group had seized control of the mining colony.

Artemis was in charge of a small division of fighters, charged with keeping the pirates on the surface of the planet. Charged with an electric excitement that always overtook him on a mission, Artemis performed above and beyond his commander’s expectations. A pirate freighter had exited hyperspace shortly into the skirmish on the ground, and it was apparent that they had to keep the contents of that freighter from reaching the planet’s surface. Artemis had taken a small group of fighters and had led them in a daring attack on the much larger ship, crippling it’s shield generators and destroying it’s engines.

For six more years Artemis served in the Republic Navy, before being injured in a drill. His fighter malfunctioned while running a drill, and his motor-functions were affected. The recovery was slow and arduous, taking three years before he could return to the Navy.

During those three years, he uncovered a covert operation taking place in the Alderaanian wilderness. A mining company had been siphoning Alderaan’s natural minerals that rested on the lake beds, and their runoff was polluting the local wilderness. At first he went to the Alderaanian government, but they weren’t helpful, they could not exert enough political pressure on the company to get them to stop. As such, he took his case to the Senate.

He travelled to Coruscant in hopes of gaining the support of the Senate. After all, the company was destroying the “Jewel of the Core Worlds”, and he figured that he would get quick support. This was not the case, however. The first major hurtle was sifting through the convoluted government procedures to even file his complaint, something he refused to do. Artemis spent three days at the Senate Building trying to catch a Senator’s attention, until finally he got it. The Senator was Corellian Senator Relana Isolde Tanoor, a junior in the Senate, who was eager to further her position in the Republic.

They instantly hit it off, and after a long and arduous battle against the megacorporation, Relana had successfully created a law limiting the power of these multi-planet corporations. It entitled that while on the planet, the company was considered under the jurisdiction of the local government. Artemis and Relana went their separate ways, and for just over a year Artemis lived a quiet life on Alderaan, spending the time healing his last trailing wounds from the accident three years ago.

Fresh and ready to return to the Navy, Artemis returned to the Navy, and after a short time reacquainting himself with the lifestyle of a pilot. Much to his surprise, he was now working for the same Senator that had helped him in his battle on Alderaan. Except this time, that Senator was the leader of the entire Republic. It was a chance meeting, but one that was destined to lead to a strange, exciting life. Artemis had picked up the connection they had a year ago, and soon they were close friends. Three years later, and Artemis was the husband of the most powerful woman in the galaxy.

A short few months after their marriage, they were blessed with a young boy, whom they named Adrian Tanoor-Bac. At this time, Artemis realized the sacrifice he would have to make. He could not continue his life in the Navy while Adrian was so young. He would have to become a father. Relana was all to often away on Coruscant, and Artemis was not willing to raise his son in the metal graveyard of Coruscant.

That was six years ago, and Artemis has seen the strain on his wife’s face. Being married to the Supreme Chancellor has it’s perks. Knowing when trouble is on the winds is not one of them. It’s inevitable that one destined for conflict to take the reigns once again. He works for the Republic, but has no rank, he is much more important then a simple soldier.

Yes, Bac has allowed me to have a Bac. Why, is it hard to believe?

Looks better, IMO.
Yea. It took forever to find a good actor for him. I think I found a fairly Bac-like actor for it. Funny thing is the actor's name is Steve Bacic.

Nice. When can I expect a history? I'm eager to read it!

Also, if you plan to make an article for this guy on SWF, be sure to put [[Category:Alternative Star Wars Saga]] and [[Category:Members of the Bac family]] on it.

Later tomorrow, probably will have the first draft up around four o'clock. I'm still finishing Linora's, then he is my number one priority.

Also, if you plan to make an article for this guy on SWF, be sure to put [[Category:Alternative Star Wars Saga]] and [[Category:Members of the Bac family]] on it.
And duly noted. I won't make one until he has had some actual RP experience.

He's not the supreme chancellor, his wife is.

Isn't Artemis a female name?

It's an Irish male name, or a female name of Greek origin
