Mandalore the Invincible laid down and put his hands behind his head, sighing. He was perched on a massive, grey boulder sitting in a clearing within one of the many Mandalorian forests. A cold breeze shook through the trees, sending a chill through Darman's spine. Slowly, the sun began to rise in the distance, spreading warmth and light throughout the woods.

On the wooded ground below him sat various battle rifles and grenades, surrounded by worn out targets sticking out of the ground. Darman slid down from the rock and landed by the weapons, smiling, his armor shining in the light. Suddenly, an image in his visor popped up with the time: "6:02 A.M." Darman yawned quietly, not really sure why he scheduled the training to be so early, and leaned against the rock, waiting for the recruit.

With the disappearance of the former Mandalore, the Clan had resorted to almost tribal tactics. Members were constantly fighting amongst themselves and total chaos had abounded. The Clan was falling from their former glory again. It wasn't until this Mandalore, Mandalore the Invincible, appeared that the Clan began to take shape again.

Stepping out of the brush, making little sound at all, Arya Stark, Mandalorian Recruit, entered the clearing in her full armor. It had been polished to shine brightly for this occassion. Unlike many of the other more experienced Mandalorians, her armor did not bear carbon scoring or other damage, marks of pride by some. Her heavy repeater blaster was slung over her shoulder with her blasters stowed in their holsters. She stood there for a moment, taking in the new Mandalore and trying to judge the man he might be before stepping forward and slapping her left fist to her chest in a salute.

"Recruit Arya Stark, reporting for training, sir," she said through the inner comm.

It was 0615, she was right on time.

Mandalore stood up straight and looked at the Mandalorian woman, checking her armor and weapons. After a few moments, Darman nodded quickly, then took a step towards the recruit.

"Today, you will be put through hell, simply put. I will teach you everything you will need to know, and I presume you will be working up to my expectations."

Darman crossed his arms and smiled inside of his visor.

"And I have very high expectations. Got it?"

She could tell this man was already a bit like General Fey. She only hoped his ways were more...conventional than the former general.

"Yes, sir," she replied again, ready for a new challenge.

Arya had risked much by approaching the former Mandalore and begging to restore her father's honor. He'd given her the chance and she'd fought hard to gain respect in the Mandalorian ranks with the other men. She wanted no special treatment. All she ever asked for was to be treated like a soldier and that's exactly as Fey treated her.

"Good. Now, before we begin any training, I want you to tell me something. Why should I treat you like a real Mandalorian soldier? I mean, women don't join the army. Why should I even train you?"

Darman stood still and smiled. This question would test the recruit on more than just her answer, but it would show Mandalore how to go about Arya's training.

Inside her armor, she bristled at the comment. It was as much a slap in the face as anything she'd heard in a while. Her eyes glowered at the new Mandalore through the visor, unbeknownst to him as she clenched her teeth and responded.

"I've bested many a man in the battle circle. Put me up against any and I'll show you my worth as a soldier. I'm not some delicate flower that you can tread upon. I'm a venemous snake that if you step upon, will strike back at you and show you a new world of pain. I may not look like much, but I assure you I'm as tough as any of your other men," she said slowly, "sir."

Darman chuckled for a few moments and began to talk around the recruit.

"I like your spirit, recruit. Now we shall begin the training."

After a second, Mandalore made a complete 360 around the woman and returned infront of the boulder. He then crouched slightly and brought his arms up into a defensive position. Grinning, he spoke through his helmet towards the girl.

"We'll start with combat training. Let's see what you've got!"

Arya knew this trick, and knew that her upper body strength was not that of a male. Instead, she had learned how to compensate for her weaknesses. Keeping her visor facing his, she knew he would wait for the first move. Instead of attacking him with her best, she began with a move she knew he might suspect. Crouching down into her stance, she brought her hands up, ready to block his attack and planted her left foot, keeping little weight upon her back right foot. Waiting for it, she spun herself half around around kicking out at his right thigh in an attempt to shake his stance.

With a white blur, Darman shot his arm down to his leg and blocked the kick. He kept his eyes on the recruit, hoping there would be more. Slowly, he brought up his hand and stayed in his defensive stance, nodding quickly.

A smirk rose on her face as his reaction time was faster than what she expected. He wasn't too shabby. Perhaps the new Mandalore was a capable fighter afterall. She let out a low chuckle, barely transmitting across the comm in her helmet as she decided to let loose. Oh how she thirsted for a good battle once again and it didn't get better than against a competant warrior like Mandalore.

She rushed forward and used the momentum of her body to rear her right arm back and deliver a strong jab toward the left side of Mandalore's helmet. Yet, she kept coming, wanting to close the gap between, staying light on her feet so she could dodge his reciprocating blow as she dropped her head and brought her left hand up in a strong jab toward his gut, longing to hear the ringing of metal again as metal touched metal.

Darman saw the first punch coming to the side of his helmet, and he quickly just moved his head off to the side. He then pivoted and spun off to the side, dodging the recruit's uppercut. As she was following through with her attack, Mandalore threw his palm towards her back, trying to push her towards the ground.

She couldn't pull back with all the momentum she had put into the uppercut. Feeling the shove to her back, pushing her off her center, she stumbled forward, almost touching the ground, but catching herself. Whirling around, she faced Mandalore again. No man would push her down and keep her down.

She charged toward him, pumping her arms and kicked up into the air, twisting her body to the side before kicking out hard with her left foot toward his upper torso, wanting to take him down instead.

Darman caught the recruit's foot, then quickly spun her around. He then took a step forward and grabbed her right arm, and locked it behind her back. Mandalore held onto her arm, walking forward slowly, which in turn began to push the recruit forward.

"Stop attacking to the most armored parts of my body. You are fast and agile enough to take down an opponent by weakening them first. Go for the quick jabs towards open parts of my body, like my neck, elbows, and knees. Try it."

Darman smiled and let go of the recruit, then crouched again, keeping his hands up defensivly.

She let out a small cry as he grabbed her arm, twisting it behind her. Arya was seeing red now, mad at herself for letting him get ahold of her like that. Listening to his advice as her chest heaved in anger, she nodded her head once before he let her go. So, he wanted her to go all out, was that it?

She turned to face him, shaking her arms out briefly before getting back into her stance. She'd not hold back now. Planning in her mind her next move, she licked her lips and charged forward again.

"You forgot one, sir," she added as she kicked up her left knee, aiming for the inner thigh, just shy of his protected cup and followed with a jab to his Adam's apple.

Mandalore brought his own knee up to block the recruit's, making a loud clanging sound of the armor clashing together. Putting his leg down, he could see the recruit's fist coming straight for his throat. Within a split second, he tossed back his head, and could see the recruit's hand fly over his helmet quickly.

Darman jumped back and exhaled quickly. She was learning quickly, and was putting Darman's advice to use much more effectivly than he had thought. Smiling, he crouched again, ready to begin his own assault on the recruit soon.

The adrenaline was pumping through her body now, fueling her further along with her battle lust. As he jumped back, she offered him little time to recover as she rushed in again, twisting before he could get a grip on her and swinging behind him. Before he had time to get a grip on her, kicking back hard against his left knee, trying to make him stumble, turning ready to meet his reciprocal attack.

Darman felt a quick pain through the back of his left knee, which instantly made him buckle. However, he placed his left hand on the ground and swung his momentum around, sweeping with his right leg towards the recruit, trying to trip her up. If she was expecting an attack through the air, she would be blind sided.

Arya hadn't known for sure if her kick would knock Mandalore down, so as she turned around and saw him falling, she hadn't expected his next move. As the clang of his leg hitting hers rang through the air, she raised her arms overhead, knowing to brace herself would only cause injury as she fell to the ground. Letting out an "oomph" as she hit, she knew she was vulnerable on the ground. Rolling away before he turned and grappled with her, she tried to put enough distance between them so she could get back onto her feet, giving him time to ready his attack in the process.
