BIOGRAPHY
Asena comes from a long line of Nautolan hunters; for generations, her family has scoured the galaxy, taking on hunts of all varieties. She grew up at the knees of her familial elders, listening to tales of great beasts and the bold warriors that felled them. She dreamed that one day, she too would have a story of her own. And so, she learned the ways of her kin, hunting beside them as soon as she was old enough to hold a spear. They traveled frequently and moved to wherever the prey took them, achieving some minor notoriety in the process. By early adolescence, Asena had already fashioned her own headpiece, made from woooriid fangs; as it turns out, she had slain the beast single-handedly as a rite of passage and has worn it with pride ever since, especially as it was this particular beast that gave Asena many of her scars (which she wears as marks of honor).
Whilst happy with her family, it seemed Asena found she was not quite content. The older she grew, the more she felt drawn away from the wayfaring of her kin. There was something greater calling her and, with the blessing of her family, she sought it out as any great hunter would. The force was not uncommon amongst her blood and by breaking away, Asena trusted the ‘cosmic ocean’ to lead her onto the right path. Following the force, Asena finally found herself on the steps of a Jedi temple.
Newly accepted amongst their ranks, the nautolan huntress begins her next chapter as a Jedi padawan.
Personality
Worldly for her age, Asena is well-traveled and for the most part, has enjoyed a nomadic life; at times she can become restless, and as a result, she will often seek ways to entertain herself. Perhaps her favorite hobby is exploring, with natural curiosity being a driving force. Another popular outlet of hers is sparring on the training grounds but it should be noted that the nautolan often neglects meditation as she finds it dull and boring. Whilst patience is vital to any hunt, in other matters, it is bothersome.
As the eldest child, with three younger brothers and many cousins, Asena learned to not shy away from a scrap. She was especially notorious for her rough play fighting and developed a mischievous habit of teasing others, especially those younger than her. This is, however, done in good nature.
With her background in hunting, Asena heavily relies on her instincts and intuition; she has faith in her own abilities and often comes across as confident. Some, however, may consider the young nautolan prideful at times, with ego blinding her to potential threats.
Appearance
Slender and lithe, Asena hopes to grow as tall as the rest of her family. She has striking coloration; her eyes are bright cyan blue, and her skin has shades of aquamarine. Her body, however, is littered with scars, many of which she earnt during her family hunting expeditions. Some of the more noticeable ones can be seen on her face, the healed skin gleaming with hues of gold. Asena has had these facial scarrings modified though so that they emulate her family's ancestral glyphs. These mean a lot to her, as they remind her of much - her family, her heritage, and the struggles she has overcome.
Coincidently, Asena is fascinated by tattoos and other forms of body modifications! She views it as a form of self-expression and will always admire it if noticed; she even sports her own septum piercing and sharpened teeth. Likely inspired by her numerous travels, and the people met along the way, the nautolan regularly paints patterns on her head-tresses; one day she hopes to have them permanently tattooed. For now, she sweeps the tresses to one side in an attempt at styling.
It is no secret that Asena dislikes her baggy Jedi robes; they create too much drag in her movements. When she can, she will often ditch these garbs and opt for more streamlined choices, allowing her better mobility and comfort.
