((Please note: All of you still in the thread Stab in the back, continue to post in there. Of course, all matters directly pertaining to this assault can still be posted here, as can messages by the USA and other states not in the meeting.))

It was cold. Colder than it should have been at this time of year in Georgia, or so Vladimir Tolyan, General of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic thought, his parka wrapped tight about him. The various vehicles, troops and weapons used by the Russian army were stacked all around, ready for when the all clear came from Russian Prime Minister Dima Kraznicikovic to attack the Georgians, the very same nation that had accepted the money from the United States of America and committed terrorist attacks upon the Russian metro in Moscow. Curling his bottom lip, Tolyan fingered the pistol on his belt, in anticipation on having revenge upon the United States of America in the not too distant future, the same state as had exiled him to Georgia, the country where he now stood. He had hated every minute of it, but would now get revenge.

Shivering slightly and running a hand vigorously over his grey, crew cut hair in order to rub some warmth into his skull, he slid up the hood on his parka as snow began to fall, a premonition of the harsh times that were to come for the Georgian people. Of course, after what they'd done, they obviously thoroughly deserved it; they weren't innocent here, and wouldn't be allowed to claim they were. As Tolyan examined his battle plans in his mind once more, he calculated the chances of reaching the Georgian capital before nightfall. Unlikely, but possible, he mused, as he looked over the troops impatiently waiting nearby, weapons strapped to them all over.

As Tolyan looked down from the brow of the hill onto Georgian territory, surveying the city before him, he smiled to himself at the thought of sacking a city whose inhabitants weren't even aware that there doom was above them, waiting for the command to attack. Laughing too himself, he quickly pulled out his communications device as it blipped. Reading the message enclosed, he smiled to himself at the all clear to attack and, crying out loud, military commands in Russian, he brought his fist down, pointing straight at the town below. The meaning was unmistakeable, even for one who didn't speak Russian, as the troops and vehicles slowly moved down the hill and onto Georgian soil.

Internal message to the Russian Head of State:

RE: Outrage

Prime Minister,

Our troops have been moved into Georgia, and we hope to have made considerable progress by nightfall. You shall be regularly updated regarding our progress, and any issues will either be resolved by myself or forwarded to you. The Georgians shall suffer for this outrage!

Regards,

Vladimir Tolyan.

General of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic.

Standing in a khaki command tent, general Kwok, effective leader of the People's Liberation Army, the single largest military force on the planet, sat down in front of the webcam. Ominous rumbling came from outside as helicopters and tank battalions rolled into position. With stable supply lines and air support in order, Kwok had estimated that penetration into Georgia would take about 24 hours, 20 at least, with Kazahkstan having expressed permission for the Chinese to use their airspace. And even if they didn't, there wasn't much they could do about it.
"Comrade Tolyen." snapepd Kwok in english as the face of the Russia appeared on the screen. "My forces are in position. Our leaders have approved of our forces joining up. My premier has asked me to co-ordinate efforts with you. I wanted to discuss with you our operations in Georgia. With our combined strength, I have estimated Georgia to be completely occupied within at least six hours when I forces meet up."

Georgia was burning. The first city had gone down without a fight, the lack of military presence in the city meaning that Tolyan and his forces could take it over with no loss of life whatsoever, and no real resistance. The Russian army had swept through Georgia like a flood, cleansing the land of those who had opposed, resistance only being found in one city, which had soon been put down by superior Russian weapons. However, it hadn't been possible for the Russians to reach the capital in the amount of time given to them since Kraznicikovic had ordered the attack, what with the resistance in the single city holding them up by some way and now, as the darkness of night drew in like a cloak thrown over a lantern, Tolyan had been drawn to his tent by the Chinese communications. As the Chinese General contacted, a frown crossed Tolyan's face as he considered the implications. "There's no need to speak in the language of the Western world as America does, General." Tolyan said, coldly and dissaprovingly, speaking in flawless Mandarin Chinese. "Your forces will be barracked with ours; our coordinates will be sent to you now. If you report to my tent, then we can discuss battle plans for tomorrow. Over and out." As Tolyan turned away, he turned instead to composing a message to President Kraznicikovic.

Internal message to the Russian Head of State:

RE: Outrage

Prime Minister,

Our troops have burnt through Georgia with considerable place, and we now barrack ourselves just outside the heartlands in which the capital is situated. No loss of life has occurred so far, and minimal injury; we've only received mild resistance in one city. As for the Chinese, I can only presume these were arranged in my absence; I will, whilst you are Prime Minister, respect your decisions regarding them.

Regards,

Vladimir Tolyan.

General of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic.

Kwok was slightly nervous about the whole thing. He didn't like the idea of his troops under the command of this Russian; but he was willing to accept any orders from the premier.
"Very well, comrade." he said. "My troops are on their way as I speak. I will rendevous with you now to discuss plans. Meanwhile, I have a wing of B-52s within an hour of Georgia if you will require any air support. Over and out."
He turned away as a sergeant walked up to him and saluted. "Comrade general, do we have authorization to move into our prearranged positions?"
"You do. I will be hopefully taking up joint command with the Russians. Barrack with them when you arrive."
"Your wish, comrade." The sergeant turned around saluted. Kwok spent a minute cleaning his fingernails as he waited for Tolyen to reply. Outside, he could hear the rumbling thud of Helix transport helicopters.

((Get some proportion here. We razed one city, and, as for slaughtering the innocent people, that's bullshit. By all means declare war, but put it in proportion.))

As it became evident that the Chinese General was waiting for a reply, Tolyan coldly turned back to his desk and began studying the plans once more, an obvious cold dismissal of the Chinese General. Imagining he'd soon leave, he began to study the plans once more. The assault would resume the next morning, by which time Tolyan presumed that the other countries would have reacted to the assault by then; it would be interesting to see what they did.

Back in his command tent, Kwok studied an LCD digital world map, with red dots indicating Chinese transport planes, bombers and airlift wings heading over central Asia to Georgia. Clearly that Russian was arrogant enough to believe that he did not require help, thought Kwok; the way things are going, this would clearly go out of hand very soon, and then the Russians will be begging for our help, he thought. Turning to his PDA, he noted intelligence reports stating that the premier Sojen was putting the people's navy and air force on alert. He smiled. At least one person in this world has foresight, he thought.
"Comrade general," announced a soldier, walking into the tent and saluting. "Our first transport planes have entered Georgian airspace."
"Tell them that if they encounter any Georgian resistance or anti-air presence, they have permission to retaliate." replied Kwok. "Rendenzvous with their troops. If that general gives you orders, relay them to me for approval, unless they are petty ones not worth bothering me about."
"Understood. And sir..." said the sergeant, paling slightly. "...what do you think the consequences of this will be? I am hearing rumours that Europe is gearing for war..."
"If there is war, we shall do our duty. If there is no war, we shall keep the peace. It is as simple as that, comrade." Kwok went back to studying the map. The pieces were falling into place.

Message à La République Populaire de Chine.

The government of France is most disturbed to see such a vast amount of Chinese troops within proximity of Europe. Such military strength is not necessary to subdue a country as Military inept as Georgia. The President of the French Republic demands that China withdraws half of its forces within 48 hours. If it fails to comply, France and the rest of the European Union, will not hesitate to take a more aggressive stance.

Signed.
Félix Rimbaud.
Président de la République Française.

Monarquía de España:

Spain officially opposes the amount of force requisitioned by both the Chinese and Russian governments for this bloodthirsty 'liberation'. It agrees with the terms set by France, and will enforce them if necessary.

International message to the Heads of State:

RE: Georgia

Gentlemen,

General Tolyan has forwarded your concerns onto me, and as such I shall respond in due manner. The Chinese presence within Georgia shall be duly reduced; China's forces won't be totally removed from the province, but a halving shall be done within 24 hours. However, the Russian people have decided upon such a course of action, and are unwilling to negotiate upon the matter. If the Georgians cannot control their people, then Russia will control them for Georgia. The Chinese troops will not be removed from the province entirely, and neither will any Russian troops.

Regards,

Dimitri Kraznicikovic.

Prime Minister of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic.

RE: Georgia

Dear Sir,

After receiving word of the invasion of this nation, despite what evidence you may or may not have against it, The United States must openly and happily Denounce your actions of aggression against Georgia. While we appreciate the decreased forces you may keep there, nothing would make us happier than for things to return to a state of peace, with Georgia remaining a sovereign nation unto itself. Certainly, this could have been settled in a different way.

With Regards,

Samuel T. Janson

U.S. Secretary of State

International message to the Head of State of the United States of America:

RE: Georgia

To whom it may concern,

Whilst your concern in the matter is duly noted, no action shall be taken upon it. Not one man, bar those of China's forces agreed to be removed from the country, shall depart from Georgian land, and not one Russian soldier shall leave or surrender. Your concern is discarded, pending your own investigation in the matter. A transcript of what occurred in your absence in the meeting in Moscow in your absence is being sent in this message. Please respond with whether you plead guilty or not to financing the terrorists. All demands by the United States of America shall be discarded until then.
Regards,

Dimitri Kraznicikovic.

Prime Minister of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic.

((it says you burned a city, or at least razed it, which I think means something like 'total and utter destruction.' It would make sense for a civilian loss of life to occur. Also, why is no one RPing Georgia?))

RE: RE: Georgia

Dear Sir,

On behalf of the President, I thank you for the transcript of the meeting I was, sadly, unable to attend. However, I must insist that you cease your accusations, concerning the United State's involvement with any and all Terrorists you may or may not have found within Georgia's borders. Why, the very idea that, having just left a war against terrorism, our country would fund any terrorists is preposterous! Not to mention the fact that, due to an economic struggle within our own borders would make funding any such operation nigh impossible!

However, until things do settle down, and peace is restored, rest assured that we will provide any aide that we can in investigating how these Georgians may have acquired papers for save havens in the United States. Perhaps a joint investigation will not only ease tensions between our two great nations, but also provide us with a more thorough investigation than two entirely separate ones.

With Regards,

((Storm is comparing the invasion to Georgia to the spreading of a conflagration. No one is RPing Georgia because no one chose to RP Georgia.))

((Per Lavi. I could explain to you the difference between a metaphor and real life, but I doubt I have the time nor the inclination.))

International message to the Head of State of the United States of America:

RE: Georgia

To whom it may concern,

In response to the recent message we received, a join investigation is something we would both appreciate. We look forward to inviting you to the Russian controlled Georgia, but, at this moment in time, certain events may put your lives at risk were you to come at this time. Therefore, I shall return word to you in the not too distant future inviting you to Georgia in order to join us in an investigation of recent events.

Regards,

Dimitri Kraznicikovic.

Prime Minister of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic.

---PRIORITY - THREE / DIPLOMATIC DISPATCH - MOSCOW/BEIJING VIA SEOUL---

Sirs,

The Republic of Korea wishes to express its sympathy to the Russian people over the recent and tragic loss of life. However, the Republic of Korea also firmly denounces the aggression on the part of both the Russian and Chinese governments towards the sovereign state of Georgia and calls for an immediate end to military operations, pending international investigation of recent terrorist activity within Russian borders.

Signed,
Lee Dae-Hyun, President of the Republic of Korea

It was Minister of Defense Park, thumbing the freshly printed transcript carefully, who spoke first. " 'Sovereign state of Georgia,' " he gave a short, rueful shake of the head, "with respect Mr. President, I do not believe that such a statement would be well received."

There were nods of assent from the rest of the cabinet.

Lee looked up from his own copy, his brow wrinkled with concentration and concern. The decision to draft such a message had been difficult. It would've been simpler just to remain quiet, to fly under the horizon as it were. The easy thing, but certainly not the right thing. He shook his head, instantly stilling the low murmurs of discontent within his own cabinet. "A course of servitude is not one which I am willing for South Korea to follow. We have always told the world that we are a civilized nation, now let us show them such." The President nodded to a nearby aide, "please relay the message immediately."

((They only encountered minor resistance in one town, and are pretty much putting the Georgian capital under seige.))
