His Padawan's movements were quicker this time around. No, not quicker, but he reacted faster, getting himself in position for a counter-attack. Exactly like Malak had told him. So, quickly, his left blade swung upwards and around his body to block his Padawan's blade. He didn't just block it either, Malak held the blade up there with his own in an attempt to render Ateles' blade useless. With his right blade, he thrusted forward towards his Padawan's abdominals.

Ateles knowing his master would do that, he brought his saber to the side to get it free then blocked his masters attack. He then stabbed at his masters chest.

In a tight situation, Malak brought his right blade down to block his Padawan's attack. He had no idea Ateles would be able to effectively counter the attack. The man was getting better, and quite quickly.

Ateles didn't see an attack from his master, just him blocking himself. He then pulled his saber back and with much muscle, he thrusted downward at his masters head.

Malak had a bit more time now, but still had to move quickly. He dove to the side, out of the way of the attack. Back on his feet, he saw that there was about a three-foot gap between him and Ateles. Perhaps they should continue this fight later.

"Great fighting. Throughout the fight, it seemed you were improving with each consecutive strike. Now, though, what kind of Jedi fighter would you like to be? One that focuses on lightsaber dueling, a master of the Force, or a mix of the two?"

"Well, I think it's better to be good at both, and not great at one and okay at the other. So I would like to be about even with both."

"Alright, well, what can you tell me about the Force? What is it, exactly?"

"Well, I think the force is a type of energy that runs in some people's bodies. Those people who have the force with them can learn to do many things with it. Some examples that I know of are force push, pull, heal, and read. Also, Sith can choke and electrecute. That is all of the force that I know of. Is there any other kinds of the force that you can tell me about."

The man knew mainly of specific powers, not too much of the Force itself. The being of the Force. This wasn't bad, but it also wasn't what Malak wanted his Padawan to be focused on. He would teach him much.

"Yes, that is what the Force is and does. It is the force around us that flows through the air, unseen. It is our ally, but can be used against us. It is truly a remarkable thing, unable to be explained in words. To really understand what the Force is and truly be knowledged, you must experience it yourself. Sit with me and close your eyes, steady your breathing, and clear your mind of thought. Let nature take its course with you, and the you will begin to feel the Force.

And Malak did exactly that, sitting and experiencing the Force flooding into him once again. It felt amazing, and he knew his Padawan would be enchanted by the wonder.

"Yes master." Ateles then sat down next to his master andclosed his eyes. He completely calmed his body and focused on feeling the force. Right away he felt it running through him. He wanted to get up to tell his master he felt it but he still had his eyes closed and he didn't want to disturb him. Also, he wasn't sure if he was supposed to stay doing this. So he just kept doing the same thing.

Malak knew his Padawan had felt it when he opened his eyes, but he wanted him to continue, to almost fall asleep in a trance within the Force. It felt great, refreshed you and steading your thoughts. It was perfectly peaceful.
