The fact that my charrie was frozen for a thousand years and thawed out 20 years ago. He was pretty isolated, so until someone changes my mind, I'm neutral.

Did he know Seamus?

Yeah I know there's a Coterie board. I also know a lot of people like to sit around with their thumbs up their butt, so I'm trying to identify Sith that'd actually get involved in stuff that aren't npcs. :P

Lauke Chaosas is up and ready- and still kicking butt for the Sith (Andraste's side) in general. Oh, and my Imperial PC is pretty much loyal- Corric Andara.

Okay FYI. I'm trying to find an opportunity to actually kick up some activity with pc vs. pc here. Something that's not scripted or controlled. It'll only work if people actually want to get involved and don't play this "oh I'm neutral, I'm too cool for school" attitude. If you're into that, you should honestly be in some other faction. Sith are supposed to be driven by something, whether that's loyalty to the current regime or to the Coterie, which is driven by its own agenda. This "bystander" attitude needs to go. Please take a moment to seriously consider whether your character really belongs in this faction and then we can move forward with a decent story.

Why am I saying this? Because people complain about not getting to be involved. The root cause is because there is such a level of indifference to everything from players ICly and OOCly. You can't make a good story unless you're driven by something. I'm willing to work with everyone here to make a really cool plot with this civil war, but first, please figure out and know for sure which side you're on and identify what would make for a fun rping experience for you. I wanna get feedback on this from you guys so I can figure out how to kick up some more activity with actual PC involvement that's NOT predetermined/scripted.

Kathrin is not neutral, just young. She would probaly join the loyal list forces if push came the shuf but right now my only mission with her is a training mission with crusader Ark.

But my imperial charter was saved by the sith so his loyal to them.

I'm willing to get involved with this. I kinda want my Sith to meet Andraste so that he can decide for himself if she's such a terrible person

I agree. I don't see why non-loyalists think she's so damn evil. She's just a very Sith-like Sith.

The Sith Code states that pouring your anger out is good. Killing makes you more experienced. Andraste follows this by the book.

One dimensional is killing for the sake of killing, aye. However, there needs to be a drive or something that drove people into this faction specifically. It has to be a common view in some sense of the word. That's why this 'neutral, indifference' attitude makes little sense to me. There are plenty of independent factions that suit that ideology much better.

My sorceress Mitsuki is loyal to Darth Maleficar only. Which makes her a loyalist and has been actively fighting the Cortie for the past couple of weeks.

I believe a lot of inactivity contributing to story is because of the controlled, and predetermined plots that members participate in. Not saying that its wrong to have these every once in a while and in cases where it would be appropriate, but the drive to have 'more transparency' and the idea of 'collaborative story-telling' has been super-generalized. Its to the point where I see a lot of 'ok we plotted out the story' and stick exactly to a script; which becomes redundant and no one wants to waste energy on redundancy.

Also Sree holds a good point, what exactly is motivating your Sith character? Look to move out of the box of cliche's of 'oh they like killing' and 'they like to be angry allll the time' because a story like that is going to get stale. Do some critical thinking, really sit down and look at the personality of your character and make sure when you make choices for them, you look at their perspective. And I understand also this always an easy thing, such as you may want to do something with your character, but then you have to question if it would make sense if your character to do an action.

Virion is neutral because of several false starts to find direction. Some in character and some not. He(I) has no direct loyalty to the Empress cause well his entire career thus far she's done very little other then "The Word Was". Right now he's doing his own thing and running a few assassin missions for @Bee 's intelligence sub-faction.

Most of the lack of loyalty comes from two potential Masters leaving for reasons I don't know. I applied for Coterie mostly because Bee is super active so it's not likely to happen to the character again. However he did not fit the idea she wanted. I have no issue with that IC or OOC it does however leave him in a bit of limbo for the moment.

I have no issue making him full loyal to the Empress' cause. But there needs to be a purpose other then "I don't like neutral characters". Give me a reason oh Queen of the Sith and Virion will follow to the gates of Force Hell.

Find your own reasons. Don't wait for someone to spoon feed your character(s) an opinion. That's kind of your job as the writer, to figure out what motivates your character and what drives them to do things.

Not to be rude here, but there's a reason why the site's story has been chronicled so extensively. Was he frozen in carbonite all his life or something? No? Then he should probably know who the Empress is.

The reason doesn't exist with just Andraste. It's loyalty to the empire, not a singular person. The only reason I said loyalty to Andraste is because Coterie is solely focused on killing her. Now I ask you, the only time they lashed out is after 'And the Word Was', which is your only insight into why you'd go against a leader that completely expanded the Imperial influence throughout the galaxy. If you have no idea what Andraste had done or why this schism is happening other than one thread, then that's on you to find out the history plotline of the story so far. The key reason she'd have followers is because the Sith controlled territory expanded from a few planets to almost the entire galaxy under her reign. Not only that, but the Jedi were dealt the heaviest blows with over half the council being wiped, Coruscant temple bombing, Will of The Force bombing, control of bacta trade, kolto trade, etc. just to name a few. ICly there is very little reason to go against someone that's pretty much paved the way for the Sith/Imperials to have influence on a massive scale. However, she IS going a little nuts with power, so the Coterie definitely makes sense, especially with the Empire getting a bit too big for its breeches.

If you want to be involved, it also needs effort on your part to do your homework on finding out what has happened in the story so far, right? Otherwise why the heck would you care? That's exactly the kind of issue that leads to indifference in the story and only going for a faction just because it's more active. Though I can understand why, activity or lack thereof leads to a plethora of issues. But that's why we're having this discussion, to identify pain points and why some people want to be 'neutral' rather than be interested in playing a role in the story.
