  • Bounty: Giblar Xoffi and the Xoffi gang.
    • Giblar Xoffi is a con man turned gang leader and is fast becoming a warlord neighboring Mandalorian space. He wishes to gain power by manipulating the public on Bandomeer and even intends to run for office if given the chance. Giblar and his men have been seizing supplies and property under the guise of other local groups and then metaphorically and literally fanning the flames afterwards. Other acts of sabotage against agricultural equipment are believed to be their doing. Dozens of mercenaries and well armed thugs are on Giblar’s payroll so use caution when taking them on.
    • Assets assigned: 2 Kom’rk transports and a 24 Mandalorian compliment.
    • Payout per teammate: 25,000 credits
    • Wanted: Dead or alive.

A pair of Kom'rk starfighters flew through the blew tunnel of hyperspace as they drew closer to Bandomeer. The two multi-role starfighter transports each held a dozen diversely decorated Mandalorian warriors. Each of them were well armed and prepared for the mission ahead.

Hokaan Veren stood among them and double checked his ammunition. He had a blaster carbine, his two side arms and a magthumper grenade launcher slung on his back. The phoenix badger was heavily armed and armored. Unlike many of the warriors present, Hokaan was not equipped with a jetpack. But he expected them to not make a fullscale planetary assualt when they arrived.

Clearing his throat, Hokaan prepared to the warriors present in his ship and had the pilot connect a channel to the sister ship. He had lead a squadron of starfighters against the Hapan ships over Kashyyyk and was now trying to lead a more nuanced group of Mandalorians in a slightly more delicate scinario. This was different than an open full scale battle.

<"Listen up."> He ordered in Mando'a. Some might ask for attention but Hokaan demanded it.<"We'll be arriving soon at Bandomeer. Now some of you were there when we moved on Ploo IV. Basically it's the same deal here only our target isn't being blatant about his take over of the planet."> He tapped the control to have a holoimage of Giblar Xoffi appear in front of them. Each of them had already been briefed and had time to research the planet ahead of time but this was as good of a time as any to give people a reminder and set a tone. <"That means minimal civilian casualties, no collateral damage, and be professional. Remember, we're the good guys. When in doubt, use stun settings on your blasters."> Rancor Squadron was a breed of supercommando that was trying to be better than everything that came before it. So far each engagement had resulted in minimal Mandalorian losses and Hokaan hoped to keep that trend running. Good public relations and internal morale were essential for their continued success.

The Veren clan membered continued without skipping a beat. <"We will be in a densely populated area and I don't need to remind you that Bandomeer neighbor's Mandalorian space. This is our opportunity to show how well we work together. The enemy out number us probably ten to one and most of them look like your average galactic citizen most of the time so only fire if you're sure you've got it right. We don't need the holonet branding us as mass murders...again."> Mandalorians had a history of doing the dirty work of other factions and being the scapegoat for catastrophes. Hokaan knew he would be responsible for the warriors under his direction. <"Ideally we'll be in and out without spending a full rotation. Worst case we spend a long weekend here and do our due diligence."> Hokaan also hoped they did not need to call for reinforcements. As isolated and backwater a planet Bandomeer was, the world had its fair share of stubborn battles. This job was rated for them to maybe tangle with some combat speeders but not much more. But there was always a chance a criminal like Giblar would have some connections to the black market and the military grade hardware available.

Oh boy! A real Mandalorian raid. This would be a hell of a time! Xan couldn't contain his glee beneath his armor, fiddling anxiously with the jetpack controls on his back. He looked at the Mandos around him - iron-skinned conquerors - and felt absolutely exhilarated.

The exhilaration took away from his ability to focus on Hokan's words. But he did he hear something that stuck with him: We are the good guys. Briefly, his consciousness was ripped back 10 years, to when his family was murdered and his planet burnt by the Mandalorian invaders. He blinked and that image was gone, replaced with the heroic propaganda that had been instilled over the decade. Of course, Mandalorians were the good guys. They were heroes! It was the sorcerers who were the villains.

"OYA!" He always had to let that one out. "Drive out the criminals and install Mandalorian rule! Let the Crusade begin!" He didn't really grasp the finer points of why they were there, but, armed his his beskad and blaster, he was ready to just get going.

Hokaan looked around in the cabin at the emotionless T visors but he could tell there was excitement under their helmets. One Solus spoke up and cheered from the hype and even Hokaan found it difficult to resist the cheer. Instead he just nodded and smiled.

However when Xan mentioned a crusade, his smile faltered for a moment. The Mandalorian's personal feelings about a crusade were complicated to say the least. But he knew conquest was a part of their history both personally and ancestrally speaking. There were plenty of chuckles and follow up cheers that supported Xan's sentiment.

Recovering from his hesitation that none would see, Hokaan nodded again. "If you feel like running for office you'll have to wait for election season. But if it's any consolation you have my vote." The armored slicer jested. Hokaan was not personally a politician but he wondered if their Group Leader was capable of governing a planet. It hardly mattered in the moment since they simply had a job to capture or kill a wanted criminal and his gang of criminals.

A signal chimed through the two gauntlet class transports signaling they were coming out of hyperspace momentarily. Bracing, the pair of ships returned to sublight speed in high orbit over Bandomeer. The marble sat below the two blade winged ships but soon the vehicles were in motion and flying through the upper atmosphere.

Hokaan had hoped they would have been seen as just a pair of ships patrolling the hyperlanes or going about their own business. But Giblar Xoffi was a man with connections in high and low places alike. The pilots of the two Mandalorian vessels each received warnings of two enemy contacts closing in quickly on an intercept course. The long range scanners detected the two AFC-1 starfighters. It would make it hard for the two ships to land permanently and definitely make it hard for Hokaan who was without a jetpack and unable to disembark quickly.

"Alright, this is it! Looks like they know we're here. Oya!" He announced to everyone. The passengers would feel the starship change its course from the deck underneath their feet. Most of them got ready to drop out of the starship at a moment's notice. The pilots of the two Mandalorian ships were knowledgeable about the capabilities and limitations of the AFC-1. It was Free World Alliance surplus and the likes of which some of them had flown behind.

The two kom'rk transports closed in on Bandomeer's capital, Bandor. They flew over oceans and coast line and head of them they could see a platform sticking out of the water. The sounds of laser cannon fire reached the Lieutenants ears as the shots exploded in the air outside of the ship. The multi-role fighters answered in kind and yellow laser cannon bolts flew back through the sky at high speed. The rear facing rapid firing light laser cannons glanced the starfighters chasing them and caused their shields to drop almost completely.

Ahead of the dogfight was the city of Bandor and sticking out of the skyline was the Enrichment Zone Headquarters. The building was likely where Giblarr Xoffi was and the Mandalorians' primary objective. Rancor Squadron ships focused shields to their rear in order to protect themselves and their cargo until they reached their destination whilst exchanging cannon fire with the corrupt locals.

This was the part that Hokaan hated. He was just standing in the ship until it got close enough for him to get out and even then, he would have to remain on board. The Lieutenant moved to the cockpit and locked at the long range scanners onboard the kom'rk. He began to track the air traffic ahead of them, looking for any sign of an airspeeder or ship trying to make an escape. If the bounty target was fearing for his life he might make a run for it. But hopefully he was confident enough to stay put and wait for Rancor Squadron to come busting down the door.

The doors to the transport opened allowing those with the ability to fly to drop out of the starship. A dozen Mandalorian descended and ignited their jetpacks. Some began to turn and use their jetpack missiles to gain a lock on the AFC-1 starfighters zooming past. Rocket contrails criss-crossed the sky and soon two dozen Mandalorian mercenaries were landing on the roof of the Xoffi's office building. The two kom'rk transports continued to draw the attention of both starfighters but it would just be a minute or two before they were able to dispatch them both and come back around safely.

The firecracker display began. Psyching himself up, Xan rushed out of the bird with an "OYAAAAAAAAAAAAA," his voice trailing off into the exhilarated scream that accompanied every time he skydived. For a moment, he became an iron torpedo, hurtling through the sky at mach speed as the raucous sounds of explosions and gunfire filled the air around him. His target - a tall, glass tower befitting a criminal of Xoffi's stature, - rapidly came into view, marked by the hud of his visor.

Instead of landing cleanly on top, though, Xan's rapid spiral provided clearance for a more exciting entrance. Activating his jetpack as the drop zone approached, he sailed through the glass exterior of the building directly into a pack of mercenaries who were beginning to fortify the doors against the Mandalorian landing.

Timing coincided perfectly, turning the Mandalorian brigade into what they were at their best: An organized symphony of violence. Mandalorians stormed into the office building precisely at the moment of Xan's mighty crash, providing an entirely different surprise to the Xoffi Gang. A surge of blaster fire and beskad fighting led to hacked limbs and bloody corpses - the Mandalorians had made their entrance into the building.

However, the problem remained: They were in a heavily-armored office building, and would have to fight floor-to-floor to find Xoffi before he escaped. Since they had presumably lost their surprise by this point, they would have to work quickly.

Xan heaved his beskad out of the chest of a Barabel mercenary with a flourish, cleaning it on his arm before returning it to his scabbard. "Why not split up? Teams of two? Everyone gets a buddy, and we each fly to each floor and find the bad guy." Seemed simple enough, right?

The cheering voices of Mandalorians sounded as they dove from the ships towards the surface of the planet. The shocktroopers hurtling towards the building were strikingly effective. They made their ancestors proud as not a single warrior was injured in the maneuver, well none they would admit to anyways. The outer defenses of the Xoffi Gang were eliminated in one fell swoop.

Hokaan was both proud of his association to House Solus but also confident in Xan's ability to lead the boots on the ground. A warning alarm blinked to tell the Mandalorian his ship was being targeted by a concussion missile. <"Evasive maneuvers!"> he yelled to the pilot who obeyed without needing the order.

The two kom'rk starfighters rotated their blade wings and flew over the coastal landscape of Bandomeer. The two adder starfighters acquired missile lock and fired. The rear gunners of each mandalorian transport fired the twin laser cannons which was more than enough to deplete the enemy shields. Enemy laser cannon fire danced around the two kom'rk starships making it hard to move though their shields saved them from the brunt of the damage.

Swerving close to the coastline one starship caused the rocket to explode on a cliff face as the ship clipped its edge and sent rocks into the air resulting in a premature detonation. The AFC-1 chasing Hokaan's ship turned into a ball of fire as its cockpit was filled with laser cannon fire.

The other kom'rk starfighter outmaneuvered the concussion missile and evade the starfighter chasing it. Hokaan's starship, now free to maneuver, came in behind the remaining AFC-1 and opened fire with its foreword laser cannons. Like its partner, the starfighter turned into a ball of fire and smoke leaving.

Hokaan connected the ships communications as the crew began running diagnositics. They had taken some damage but they were still space-worthy. <"Skies are clear, for now. Coming in to land on the roof. What's your status?"> The remaining Mandalorians without jetpacks and jetboots would be able to disembark and reinforce those securing the building.

Seemed Param was destined to have the same agenda as Mandalorians for a while. It had been a long time since Param's first adventure on Bandomeer. Thel had summoned her to the planet as an Acolyte. It took mere minutes for her to carve a path of blood through the mining company and secure the operation for her former Master. How far she'd come since then; how much had she changed. The alabaster echani girl that had slaughtered countless for the whims of an Order she had grown to hate was nothing like the woman that was sauntering into the lobby of the Enrichment Zone Headquarters.

Her brown dyed hair was braided into a crown, hidden by the hood of the tan poncho that was draped over her. What once had been pale, echani skin was now tanned, not that there was much of it to see. A long sleeve black shirt, and tight, leather brown trousers made sure that everything but her hands and face were covered. Param would look like an adventuring wanderer if it weren't for the Westar-35 pistol holstered on her right thigh and the echani war sword that poked out from under the poncho. The two daggers at her hips and karambit vibro-blade at the small of her back were hidden.

The Xoffi gang had entered Param's sights for their complete disregard for people. She was no stranger to crippling a planet and its people; it was something she had done several times as a Sith. The difference was that Param had hated every moment of doing it, while the Xoffi gang seemed to revel in it. She wouldn't put it passed the gang to have their hands in slavery, either, though there was no real proof of that that she knew of.

Mandalorians were a smart people when it came to battle. They started at the top of the building. Param had spent enough time with mercenaries to know that top-down was the best way to clear buildings. The only real problem was that if it weren't for Param raising her hand and using the Force to jam the door behind her shut, the guilty would get to flee into the streets. Vee hopped off of her shoulder, scurrying toward a control access point behind the lobby desk. The woman behind the counter shrieked as Vee hopped over and got to work.

Param's silver gaze met the woman's. She could see the realization that it was in the woman's best interest to hide wash over her. Just in time too. The first group of Xoffi gangsters to approach were the lobby security. Three held back, aiming blasters at her, while a fourth went to apprehend her. She chopped his blaster hand with her left, stepping forward and between his legs, and slamming her fist into the man's gut just below his blast vest. Her left hand came back across into the side of the man's head, and with her leg between his, he stumbled in the way of his comrades who all pulled the triggers of their blasters.

By the time they realized they'd just shot their own friend to bits, Param was on the nearest one, slamming the pommel of her war sword into his neck. She spun, holding the scabbard with the sword still in it, funneling the Force into it as she smacked it against his side. He flew, unable to breath and with some new found broken ribs into the remaining two. The security gangsters were in chaos, and Param was the one that controlled it.

Before the third gangster could recover from his friend being flung into him, Param practically appeared in front of him, crouched, and slammed the hard scabbard of her war sword into the sides of his knees, shattering the bones inside. As he buckled and fell, she uppercut him with the pommel. He was out before he hit the ground. The fourth raised his blaster, a look of terror marring his face. Param grabbed the barrel of the blaster pistol, jabbed the pommel of her sword into his unprotected gut to stun him, and then used his own pistol to whip him to the ground with a series of lightning fast strikes to his face and neck, dropping the pistol on his unconscious body afterwards.

"Vee, funnel any fleeing gangsters here to the lobby. Send a message to the Mandalorians that they'll have a collection of prisoners on the first level," Param said. As the Mandalorians would make their way down, they'd push the gangsters toward Param. Killing them would be easy, but then they wouldn't get to see the people's justice like they deserved.

Hokaan heard an update in Mando'a as he landed the transport. The news was good as they continued to make slow progress down into the building. Furthermore there was an update from a droid, Vee that came into the Veren's internal helmet speaker. "Sounds good. We're making progress. I'm moving on their armory."

A few moments passed as the aspiring armorer hoofed it from the roof down a few floors. Hokaan stepped over the bodies of several eliminated gangsters who continued to smoke from blaster holes. A pair of mandalorians stood outside of the armory. One of them was trying to use a thermic blade but Veren stopped them. <"Wait!">

The duo stepped aside to allow Hokaan access to the door. He produced a computer spike and inserted it into a node beside the door. It was a swing door which should have been a warning to the lieutenant and the subsequent 'ping' of a grenade pin being pulled made his hair stand on end. <"Bomb!"> He tried to close the door quickly, knowing it was made of hardy material but that would barely save the man. He had no time to dive out of the way.

Hokaan Veren was blown back down the hallway a dozen meters. The durasteel door was superheated on the side that had been inside the room though the outside and covering Hokaan was still hot. The entire floor's windows would explode outward from the shockwave and the floors above and below would even be heavily shaken. The rest of the building would feel the rumble. Meanwhile, the two mandalorians were just as injured as Hokaan. None of them were dead but each was heavily injured. Param would recieve an update as one of the Solus Lieutenants reported Hokaan's injuries to the allied force user on the lower floors. Aside from Hokaan, the rest of the mandalorians were making slow but assured progress in driving them down.

A steady trickle of gangsters funneled like rats trapped in a maze into the lobby. Param was in a constant state of movement, delivering incapacitation strikes with her hands, elbows, knees, and feet. A small gangster might only need a chop to an unprotected nerve. The wookiee turned mercenary Param now stood in front of, required a little more nuance. She kicked a leather booted foot into the wookiee's groin, doubling it over. He reached out to grab her with a pained growl, but Param slipped through his arms and hands, delivering a punch to his throat.

While the wookiee choked and sputtered, Param dealt with a rodian that had tried to sneak by kicking their knee in a direction it couldn't bend, grabbing the back of their head, and throwing them face first into the floor. She turned back to the wookiee, and rushed toward him just as he gathered enough composure to start standing straight agan. Param jumped, using the wookiee's own knee as a launching point for a second jump that landed her on the wookiee's chest. While the landing itself didn't move the large being, the Force assisted punch that crunched into his face toppled him backwards. For good measure, Param rode the wookiee down, pummeling his face and neck with strikes like a light repeater of fists. He was out cold before he hit the floor, and Param hopped off of him at the last moment.

She was about to chop down a human male who was much smaller in size when the building shook. Param hesitated, looking upwards. It gave the man a window to send a wild punch flying into her cheek. She staggered back a step, then pressed forward, her attention on the man entirely. A Force assisted kick to his hip folded him like a lawn chair, unable to walk with a broken pelvis. Vee chattered almost incoherently fast in a series of beeps and whirs.

Param rolled her silver eyes and groaned. Fucking Mandalorians. At least they didn't die. One of the graces of being so armored, Param guessed. "Keep the gangsters funneling toward me, Vee. I'm going up," Param said through an EZPod. Vee chirped his acknowledgement. It would take her all day to reach the Mandalorians if she wanted to knock the gangsters out instead of kill them. She could use the Force, of course, but using it openly was always a recipe for disaster.

Just as Param made it to the stairs, a group of gangsters burst out of the door. Param unsheathed her echani war sword, cutting the first one down in an instant. The others were so stunned that someone was not just using a sword on them, but that there were piles of knocked out comrades behind Param too, that most stood still and waited for her blade to fall on them.

It was a brutal, and messy business moving up the stairs. Param's limbs were burning with exertion, but her pace wasn't slowed. Gangsters would find the elevators not working and rush to the stairs only to be funneled by Vee into Param and their demise. The Mandalorians were slower and methodical, while Param was chaos incarnate- ripping through gangsters like they were toys. In a way, compared to some of the beings Param had fought, they were.

Eventually she met with a team of Mandalorians, flicking her blade free of blood and sheathing it into its scabbard immediately so she could present both hands in peace. "Finally! Guess we're working together for a bit," she said with a smile. She realized it probably didn't look as warm and welcoming as she'd hoped with the fact that her face was drenched in blood that wasn't her own. "Any word on the leader? Yours and theirs?"

Silence and nothingness surrounded Hokaan. He felt heavy and cold but at the same time he felt warm, like one side of his body had been left out in the sun all day. But the black that encapsulated him felt cool, at odds with the burns he had sustained. It reminded him of being close to a thermal vent on an icy world.

The young mandalorian was mentally blown back on belsavis, his homeworld. The explosion had knocked him into an unconcious state that he struggled to awaken from. After a moment other members of Rancor Squadron would sweep the floor and call in medical attention. Field medics moved in to stabilize their injured comrades whilst also giving an update to the rest of Rancor Squadron.

This was the danger of operating in small groups, they were unable to call in further backup at short notice. But the mercenaries that had come to Bandomeer were making good progress but it was costing them. A call was made to Rancor Squadron's allies @M.D. Blec Croncu and his peers. Their medical expertise would be needed on short notice unless the mandalorians wished to take their chances with a local doctor.

As Param approached her mandalorian coworkers they regarded her with hidden suspicion like they did with all potential foes but reserved any hostilities. They recognized her as a fellow friendly combatant. One Lieutenant, Lisa Voss, took command as the highest ranking and most experienced mandalorian with Hokaan knocked out. "Giblar Xoffi is on the next floor with a dozen of his elite guards. It's reinforced with starship grade alloys but we're working on setting up a breach." Even with the injured present the Mandalorian war machine was not going to slow down. "We've cleared most other floors but we've detected an isolated turbo lift and ladder well. We think he may try to use it as a last means of escape to some underground hangar or tunnel." Giblar was likely too proud to completely run away just yet and would only flee as a last resort. If he ran away there was the chance that the two kom'rk transports could chase down an airspeeder or shuttle so he wanted to wait.

The Synapse was docking with another vessel, just an hour's hyperspace journey from Bandomeer, to treat a patient suffering from cybernetic rejection syndrome. Fortunately, after three days of intensive care and replacing the malfunctioning cybernetic with a new one, the patient stabilized. The payment discussion went smoothly, and soon the grateful patient departed in his ship. The droids efficiently cleaned the medical bay, preparing for the next patient, who should arrive sooner than expected.

The ships soundsystem would soon stop the short break:

***BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, Emergency Request, Planet: Bandomeer, Request from: Rancor Squad, Danger Level: Unknown***

Blec swiftly issued orders to the droids to return to the droid bay. 'Dopamine, send a message that we'll arrive in one hour. Ask for landing details – where to land, and so on. Also, prepare the ship for immediate departure,' he instructed Dopamine hurriedly while grabbing his emergency bag.

Once Dopamine confirmed the message had been sent and the ship was ready for hyperspace, Blec joined the droid in the cockpit and initiated the jump.

'Whatever trouble they're facing, it's surely more than a mere scratch,' he muttered as they entered hyperspace.

----- One Hour Later -----

After an hour, Blec reached Bandomeer's orbit and awaited further landing instructions.

It wasn't just Param listening to the Mandalorian speak, but Vee over the EZPod as well. At the mention of the turbo lift, Vee got to work to try to locate it. Param's silver gaze shifted among the Mandalorians, noticing that they were all very ready for more battle. She just so happened to be fighting the same people, and so she wasn't a threat- yet. Param had seen enough to know that could change in an instant. A mispoken word, a gesture interpretted wrongly; the smallest of things would have the biggest impacts and Param was over being the center of it.

"I'm assuming that lift's only entrance is with Giblar on that floor," Param thought aloud. Vee confirmed it with a chirp over the EZPod. It was less than ideal. Param could justify the carnage behind her on the staircase by saying she was just really damn good with a sword. Blocking off Gibli's escape would either mean finding where it lead to or using the Force to get to the entrance before anyone could react. It wouldn't be the first time she had done something like that, on Bandomeer no less too.

"Vee, is there a way to lock that turbolift down?" she asked, looking away from the Mandalorians so they knew she was talking over her EZPod. The low beeps and whirs that returned were a somber reminder of why hiding ones Force abilities while in combat were almost impossible. Param sighed, turning back to the Mandalorians. "I'll breach with you and block his escape. Do you have a map of where it is on the floor?" Vee chirped in her ear that he could provide that information easily, but Param ignored his protest; she wanted it from the Mandalorians if she could.

"Yup...and wherever it takes him." Lisa nodded, answering Param's statement with the obvious. The group planned their next move with six mandalorians ready to breach with the wandering force-user. The rest of the building was being secured and with just over two score of Mandalorians, some of which were wounded, they could only spread out so far. But six would be enough along with Param to finish Gibblar off.

"Yup. Just give me a few seconds and I'll have a perfect idea." The lieutenant smiled underneath her helmet and tapped a few controls on her wrist. Thanks to the efforts of Hokaan Veren and several other mandalorians, Mandalore had trade with Vulptur and allowed for many of Rancor Squadron to improve their gear. Lisa Voss had come equiped with a sensar droid port and accompanying droid. Not ideal for combat, she had waited until the neighboring floors were secured before deploying the mechanical mapping scout. Traversing ventilation it would access other rooms and provide a record its findings. Furtherore it provided a holographic image for them to use. Not only would it map the room, but it would show active contacts, pinging their location every two seconds.

The squad of Rancor mandalorians were ready to breach together with Param. Once an opening was made flashbang grenades exploded, dizzying and dazling those inside. Mandalorians swept into the room blaster aiming and fingers on the trigger. Bolts flew through the air as guards had taken up defensive positions, blindingly trying to hit a target in desperation. But they did little to help considering the mandalorians already knew precisely where they were. A blaster bolt pinged off of mandalorian armor here or there with a lucky shot but most of them were taken by surprise.

Lieutenant Voss had taken point and was moving to try and cover Param to get Gibblar. The gangster, holding a blaster would throw it down on the ground. For a moment it seemed like he was about to give up but then the blades extended from his forearms, tearing out of his sleeves and swinging rappidly towards the mandalorian. In one quick slice the woman's blaster was cut to pieces. "Osik!" The mandalorian was back pedaling, surprised by the acklay blades now brandished against her. None of her comrades had a clean shot on the man. Lisa was not the only one with tricks up her sleeve. It seemed Gibblar Xoffi literally had a few of his own.

--- One Hour Later ---

Airspace was for the most part secure, as far as Rancor Squadron was concerned. Their two Kom'rk transports remained unbothered from further harassment. They, along with a handful of jetpack borne mandalorians had secured the roof for Blec and his ship to land on.

Local law enforcement was on the ground and was keeping a perimeter in the surrounding space to guide civilian traffic away and around hazards. The danger had subsided at this point, making it a spectacle that would make the evening news. Speculations of what local officials would do in the following days and weeks were already being shared over news outlets along with debates over how politicians would use this for the benefit of their campaigns. No civilian casualties appeared to have been injured and per Rancor Squadron's ongoing reputation, there was minimal collateral damage despite their destructive capabilities.

Decided to post as storyteller since Hokaan is KOd for the rest of the thread I think. We can probably wrap it up in a round or two if you two don't mind.

Param gave Lisa a warm smile. "I'll keep him alive for you," she said. Finding out the exact layout of the room, Param made a plan in her head, then waited by the breach point for the Mandalorians to ready and stack up. When they approached and readied themselves, so too did Param. She was behind all of the Mandalorians when the breaching charges were set off. Param followed the professional warriors through the breach, choosing instead of fade into the shadows and obscurity around the edge of the room as soon as she had entered.

It was from the edge of the room that she saw Giiblar throw his weapon down, only to reveal acklay blade modifications to his arms. Param's gentle and warm features turned cold and emotionless. She wasn't one to put much stock in honor, but even feigning surrender was unforgivable to her. Lucky for Gibblar, Param knew his fate would be much worse if he was kept alive rather than dead- not that she wasn't about to make that living part very painful for him.

As he started in for a second attack against the lieutenant, one that would undoubtly end her life, Param used the Force to speed her movements. She was a blur, one second standing on the edge of the room, the next stopped between Gibblar and the Mandalorian. Her echani war sword was already half way out of its scabbard as her right hand pulled it out in a quick draw sweep of the acklay blades, collecting them both in its arc and throwing them to her right. Her left hand grabbed the dagger from her left hip, and with a little Force push, threw it deep through Gibblar's foot and the floor.

Following her natural movement, she spun right, calling upon the Force one last time to push the lieutenant back and safely away from a probably pinned to the floor Gibblar and Param. The wandering Force user turned a deadpan, silver gaze to Gibblar, placing both hands on the hilt of her sword as she raised it up next to her face, curve arching upwards with the tip of the blade pointed at him. She would worry about outing herself as a Force user later- she had a couple of arms to remove from the black market's circulation.

As soon as Blec received the landing instructions from Rancor Squadron, he quickly descended to the designated coordinates, mindful of the unknown extent of the injuries at the time.

Piercing through the clouds obscuring the operation zone, Blec soon came into view. The Mandalorians had secured a spot on the roof, clearly marking it as a landing area. Without wasting any time, he deftly landed on the roof and promptly ordered the droids to prepare for emergency surgery.

The cargo lift descended with Blec, the stretcher, and "CARGO-1" on board, ready to receive the patients who were apparently already prepped by the fellow Mandalorians. Blec swiftly used the med-scan to assess the situation of the patients. Three Mandalorians were heavily injured, with Hokaan Veren appearing to be in the most critical condition due to a blast that had hurled him across the room. The other two Mandalorians were also severely wounded. Here is a summary of the three patients Blec was set to treat:

Hokaan Veren's Injuries:
  • Burns: 1st degree (18%, thorax and abdomen) and 2nd degree (2a) (18%, both arms)
  • Chest Trauma: Left flail chest (multiple fractures of the left rib cage, Costa 5-10)
  • Abdominal Injury: Splenic rupture (GAST II classification from the Galactic Association for the Surgery of Trauma)
  • Fractures:
    • Left femoral, transverse fracture
    • Unstable translation-rotation spine fracture (Th 7 & 9), partial rupture of spinal cord
  • Other Injuries: Blast ear, concussion, several bruises
Mandalorian 1's Injuries:
  • Burns: 1st degree (18%, thorax and abdomen) and 2nd degree burns (2a) (18%, both arms)
  • Fractures:
    • Right radial, segmental fracture
    • Right ulnar, segmental fracture
    • Right humeral, transverse fracture
    • Right femoral, transverse fracture
  • Other Injuries: Blast ear, concussion, several bruises
Mandalorian 2's Injuries:
  • Fractures:
    • Left femoral, segmental fracture
    • Left fibula, transverse fracture
    • Left humeral, transverse fracture
  • Other Injuries: Blast ear, concussion, several bruises

After examining the med-scan results, Blec determined that Hokaan Veren required immediate emergency surgery due to his multiple injuries, shortness of breath, and the potential for permanent neurological damage. He decided to prioritize "Mandalorian 1" as the second patient for treatment, followed by "Mandalorian 2."

Accordingly, Blec transmitted the medical findings to "OR-1" to ensure the preparation of all necessary materials. Meanwhile, TRAUMA-1 and TRAUMA-2 were busy getting the emergency room ready. CRNA-1 was also in the process of preparing the anesthesia.

With efficiency and care, Blec and CARGO-1 swiftly but safely transferred Hokaan Veren using the cargo lift to the emergency room.

Upon arrival in the ER, CRNA-1, TRAUMA-1, and TRAUMA-2 were already waiting. They immediately began undressing the patient to prepare for surgery. Once given the command, CRNA-1 initiated the Rapid Sequence Induction. Thanks to advanced medications, general anesthesia was achieved in just 5 seconds. The skilled droid secured the airway with an endotracheal tube swiftly, enabling them to quickly move Hokaan Veren into the OR.

Diaphragm stimulation was ruled out due to the risk of exacerbating the first-degree burns, necessitating the use of positive pressure ventilation.

In the OR, CRNA-1 prepared an array of IV fluids, along with several units of FFPs and pRBCs.

Blec left the room to gear up for the surgery, arriving in the theatre within minutes to find the patient already prepped.

The first priority was addressing the flail chest, due to its potential life-threatening complications. Donning his headgear, Blec approached the assistant droid for his surgical gown and sterile gauntlets.

"Team Time Out," Blec announced. "Hokaan Veren, multiple injuries from an explosion. We'll first fix the flail chest (Costa 5-10), then check the spleen. Next, 'OR-1' will administer bacta to the femur and temporarily fix the leg with the table's fixator. Once the femur and spleen are addressed, we'll turn the patient for spondylodesis from Th 6 to Th10, applying bacta and magnesium stabilization-hull, with screws in Th6, 8, and 10."

CRNA-1 confirmed the patient's identity and vital signs, noting the availability of blood products.

Blec disinfected the thoracic surgery area and simply stated, "Incision."

Flail Chest and Spleen:
Blec made a long incision along the left thorax to access the broken ribs. Carefully spreading the skin, he evaluated each rib. The 10th rib, unstable and impinging on the spleen, was stabilized with a magnesium-based plate that would dissolve as the bone healed. The spleen and 10th rib were then addressed simultaneously via subcostal laparotomy, allowing for the repair of the rib and spleen without further damage.

OR-1 repositioned the 10th rib, while Blec stabilized it. OR-1 then cauterized the resultant bleeding and concluded no spleen resection was necessary, with damage under 50%.

Blec instructed OR-1 to proceed with the femur treatment while he closed the incision on the thorax.

The Spine: With the spleen and femur addressed, Blec prepared for the spondylodesis. He changed out of his surgical gown and gauntlets, disinfecting himself again. The patient was turned using the table's integrated system, ensuring spinal stability.

For Blec, spinal surgery was a critical task. He donned his headgear, an essential part of his PPE, including a filtering mask, plastic visor, and air conditioning, and prepared for the delicate procedure on the spinal cord.

OR-1 had already disinfected the area, allowing Blec to promptly begin the next phase of surgery. He skillfully used the blade to make an incision, revealing the underlying layers of skin. Employing a bipolar scalpel, Blec carefully exposed the spine to assess the complex fracture.

Fortunately for Hokaan Veren, the spinal cord was only partially torn at TH9, though the vertebrae were severely damaged. Blec proceeded with utmost care, delicately realigning the spine while ensuring no additional harm came to the spinal cord. He then injected a small amount of bacta at the rupture site and applied a magnesium-based hull to reinforce the area. With the spinal cord secure, he shifted focus to correcting the vertebrae deformity, using internal fixation for stability. Magnesium-based rods were screwed into the bones, followed by administering bacta to the fracture zones.

This comprehensive procedure was exhaustive, and upon completion, Blec let out a sigh of relief.

He directed the droids to transfer Hokaan Veren to the ICU. There, the patient was to be placed in a bacta tank for two days to facilitate the healing of the burned skin.

Summary:

Hokaan Veren's recovery required a two-day stay in the bacta tank, followed by a four-day monitoring phase in the ICU, which included rehabilitation.

In the end, Hokaan Veren made a full recovery from his severe injuries.

Mandalorian 1's Treatment and Recovery:

Mandalorian 1 underwent plate osteosynthesis for all his shattered bones. Following the surgery, he was placed in a bacta tank for a two-day healing process. This was succeeded by a three-day stay in the ICU for further recovery and monitoring.

Mandalorian 2's Treatment and Recovery:

Mandalorian 2 also received plate osteosynthesis for his shattered bones. Post-surgery, he required a three-day stay in the ICU for continuous care and monitoring.

Both Mandalorian 1 and Mandalorian 2 made full recoveries from their severe injuries.

After ensuring the area was clear, Blec relocated to a different location. Hokaan Veren, the last patient, was discharged one week following the incident. Blec promptly departed after Hokaan's discharge to respond to another call of duty.

Lisa reflexively brought one of her gauntlets up to desparately deflect against the incoming acklay blades. It would not likely be enough on its own to protect the Lieutenant. The mandalorian's other hand was moving to draw her sidearm but Gibblar had gotten the drop on her. In a brief thought the Voss clan member wondered if she would beat Hokaan to the afterlife afterall. The swift intervention of the wandering swordswoman however caused the mortal fear to evaporate.

In the blink of an eye Param was between Gibblar and the ranking Mandalorian. A look of surprise was followed by a howl of pain. The knife pierced through the man's foot and pinned him gruesomely to the floor. His free foot tried to step and recover from Param's deflection but it would be stopped short by the blade still in his foot and lead to more pain.

Lisa Voss was thrown back by the wandering force sensitive until she was partially caught by her comrades. Mandalorians had continued to move around the perimeter of the room in order to get an angle on their target. The rest of the Xoffi gang had already been quickly dispatched leaving only its leader as the last concious survivor. Now forcibly anchored in place on one foot, they would have an relatively easy time hitting him. His acklay blades did nothing to protect him from ranged energy weapons. The two heavy blasters fired stun bolts at Gibblar who's eyes quickly rolled into the back of his head and his body dropped to the ground heavily.

The rest of the room was secured in the following seconds. Nobody else aside from the Xoffi gang members seemed to be injured. Lisa might have a bruise from the rough teleikentic shove but it was the least of anyone's worries.

The gangsters that had been taken alive, which was most if not all of them, were stun cuffed and secured for future transport. The few that had intense injuries would be looked at by the field medics after the wounded of Rancor Squadron were first checked. Thankfully the mandalorians had been given some training and would assure that Giblar and his henchmen would also live to see his bounty cashed in. The communication the ground teams received confirmed that medical assistance was inbound. There was some comfort in knowing that their comrades would live to fight another day.

"We're going out for drinks later. As long as you don't do any mind tricks on us you can join." Lisa gave a friendly clap on "Rose's" shoulder after the injured were taken by Doctor Blec Conrcu. There was worry in her voice for her brothers and sisters. "We'll go when Hokaan and the others recover. They'll be thirsty after spending ages in bacta." She had no idea if they were actually going to be suspended in the stuff or how long the surgery was going to take. The surgeries that would happen would be enough on their mind for the time being and prevent much merriment until there was good news. But having something to look forward to seemed better than the alternative. It was for the medical professionals to know and for the rest of them to wait patiently.

While some of the mandalorians had taken up security positions around the glass tower there were those that were given their first chance at rest since arriving on Bandomeer. The adrenaline of the battle had come and gone now leaving some of the warriors tired. Despite this many of them remained awake and alert. Their concern for their injured few was clear and they were also cautious to not let their guard down. Rancor Squadron had only recently arrived and if there was a second round of dangers or a counter attack they wanted to be ready.

It would be a full week before Hokaan Veren and his comrades left the hospital and @M.D. Blec Croncu 's care. The cerean surgeon was thanked and paid for his services. They would have asked him to join him for drinks as well but he seemed to be a busy doctor and quite popular not to mention exceptional in his work.

Hokaan was anxious to change from a bedridden lifestyle and get back to field work. As soon as he could be transferred to a Rancor Squadron ship he requested to be moved. That way there would be able to jump right back into action. He promised to take it easy for a least the next following week as well. He would join Lisa and Param for celebratory drinks, fully expecting to go through proper breaching maneuvers in the future. The Veren would excitedly be regaled with what he missed during his time unconscious.
