While the Corellian government is held hostage, a force of Mandalorians is send to the Imperial barracks to hold off possible reinforcements towards the government building and just wipe out as many imperial soldiers as they possibly can.

Attackers: @Leandros Solus (@Pai-Mike) & @Burkhart Kelborn (@Darasuum)

Defenders: @Darth Victress (@Faded Truth) & @Niish Chichel (@Gian Greydragon)

OOC: I leave for field training on 25May, from there it’s ~6 days of intermittent mobile posting from the woods. Let’s get some speedy posting and have fun please:)

”Strike Team Karyatr, drop.”

Have you ever heard an entire planet scream?

Leandros was certain that he just did. The stark realization that they were not meteors falling from the sky sent the people of Corellia into a panic. All around, basilisk droids and dropships plummeted to the earth below, their riders and personnel some of the galaxy’s most-feared warriors – the Mandalorians. Each man and woman going into battle was worth a hundred Imperials, their minds and bodies honed from years of constant warfare. They all wore their signature armor emblazoned with the iconography of their clans and their exploits. Every warrior going into battle carried a full complement of weaponry for any situation. This was no mere skirmish force. They were liberators, whether these people wanted it or not.

At the fore rode two of their most well-known warriors: Leandros the War Councilor and Field Marshal Burkhart Kelborn. The duo had fought together numerous times before. In fact, Leandros still fondly remembered the time Burkhart gave him a brutal beatdown behind his bar. Now the two of them plummeted into battle atop their mighty war machines, two brothers-in-arms focused on the singular purpose of conquest. Fun was not something one considered when conquering the universe, but this brought a faint smile to Leandros’ lips.

The wind rushed past him as the ground quickly approached, but he felt no fear. Not only was he fully secured by hidden quick-release straps, but also the thrill of battle washed over his mind. The exhilaration of hotdropping on a basilisk never failed to impress him. He loved every second he spent on the droid. After all, what was cooler than riding on a metal death machine to go burn a world?

Literally nothing.

Leandros knew that somewhere out there were the people closest to him riding into the same battle. He knew that Raz was leading her people in this great charge and that she would find herself in the thick of combat in the capital. An inkling of worry nestled itself in the back of his mind that he crushed shortly thereafter with thoughts of glorifying the gods and his Mand’alor. Idle thoughts could not distract him, not today. They would all emerge unscathed from this conflict and move onto the next planet, and then the next. That was what the gods demanded of them.

Coronet City rapidly approached and, within seconds, each of the Mandalorian strike teams split off towards their respective targets. Leandros and Burkhart moved towards the Imperial garrison in the capital; their mission was to fix the enemy and prevent any reinforcement of the government building in order to provide Raz and her team with the time needed to force the capitulation of the Corellian leaders.

The garrison itself was impressive. On three sides were towering barracks approximately forty-five meters long and twenty meters wide with windows evenly spaced every three meters and rising six stories forming a U-shape around a massive parade field that was approximately forty meters long and thirty-five wide. The barracks had entrances located every thirteen meters lengthwise. Between the barracks and the parade field was about five meters of open space for personnel movement. There was a viewing stand for the official parties of the parade on one far side, as well as stands for a crowd on both sides of it. The fourth side of the parade field opened to a pathway and then a small road that formed a U-shape that split off along the field that was approximately eight meters wide. Just beyond it loomed the solid, ten-meter-tall wall of the garrison that separated it from the city. On the other side of the barracks was the rest of the garrison, but it was not their concern. A few administrative buildings bordered the road and it looked like a large open patch of ground sat prepared for construction. A pity that it would never come to fruition, now.

Leandros’ personal retinue moved off towards one side of the barracks and prepared to enter and clear it while other teams moved towards the other two buildings. Leandros’ basilisk slammed onto the ground on the edge of the parade field, bending and warping the metal below it as its massive weight and claws dug in. He was in the space next to the eastern barracks (number 1 on the map) and about midway down the parade field's width. Its rider looked on as his people breached the buildings, a faceless gargoyle overseeing one of the most significant attacks on Imperial territory in years. He barked out a short command to the droid, which turned its impressive armaments towards the massive Imperial banner flying high on the barracks. Within seconds, it shredded the flag, sending scorched cloth fluttering in the wind. He then turned his mount towards the road, ready for any reinforcements.

The Mandalorians had arrived.

The wind was not the only thing howling as the mandalorians plummeted to the surface at high sped. Burkhart's canine cry for battle called from atop the back of his war mount. The mechanic growl of his basilisk war droid rumbled between his legs as the ground beneath them hurtled closer with every passing moment. A smile would have exposed his fanged mouth if he had not been wearing his adorned helmet.

He was not afraid of falling off of the great mechanical beast. He had a seated harness that would keep him in place with some freedom of mobility still. Quick release straps were near the hand holds and out of direct line of sight of any ranged attack in the event he needed to dismount. He felt like a hell hound descending from the sky. The two points of his helmet meant for his dog like anatomy were more akin to horns in this case.

Mandalorians with just jet packs were in free fall in an array of colors. Some in the stark black of Clan Kelborn while others were in the red of Clan Solus. Other uniquely armored warriors were joining them, the shock troopers intended to storm the military outpost. This was the tip of the spear and they would pierce deep into the Empire. All of them, he was proud of. This was the first open operation the mandalorians were conducting and he was excited to bring it to the Empire's doorstep both as Alor of Clan Kelborn and also as a Field Marshal under Mand'alor the Chosen.

Strapped to the front of his basilisk and rigged to not be thrown off to the side was his beviin light repeater. The weapon was able to be adjusted and moved around to aim at anything in front of the mandalorian's mount. He did not have to hold onto the weapon for the time being, it just rested on the cannon faced head of the engineered creature.

The Field Marshal activated his gauntlet bulwark shield before they came to the surface. He wanted to be ready for the open assault that was inevitable. Fully decked out in his grandest of weaponry he would not be surprised if he was going to use each and every one of his weapons. On his other arm was his cryocaster since he felt combining a wrist rocket with the basilisk's rockets would just be redundant.

Every warrior was a destructive force in his own right. They were worth a hundred maybe even thousands of each imperial trooper. Just as the Solus War Councilor would send his marauders to sweep the barracks the Kelborn Field Marshal would direct his own troops to move to the roofs of the buildings. Kelborn marauders were skilled hunters and trackers. They would act as spotters for troop movements and hold the high ground in sharpshooter teams of two. One shooter, one spotter. They all had recorders on their helms as well to capture this victory on holo. Moving along with Leandros to guide their war machines to the set drop zone his basilisk war droid would slow safely but not enough to keep it from cracking the ground underneath in a satisfying manner.

Coming out of a side pouch, now that the free fall had been passed was Burkhart's Personal Entertainment Attendant. Its unique appearance hovered over his shoulder, waiting for a command. The mandalorian had prepped a few choices for musical play thinking that he would perhaps project some chanting in mando'a or mock the imperials with one of the remixes one of his marauders had come up with. For now he would hold off.

CORONET CITY- IMPERIAL GARRISON

Imperial intelligence had determined the high risk of affairs in Corellia, including the potential of invasion by Mandalorian forces. Exterminating the ambassadors would be difficult given the amount of Imperial soldiers stationed on the world, save for if anything were to happen to them. They were not mistaken, Mandalorian forces led by the infamous War Councilor: Leandros Solus dropped into the city and stormed their legions towards the Garrison in attempts of preventing reinforcements to aid the representatives. As the rebellious warriors descended, their metal beasts would shred the earth underneath their feet, sending waves of destruction and peril across the capital city. The soldiers of the Garrison however were not merely flies to be swatted, well trained and well provisioned, they retaliated almost immediately with the breaching of their doors.

Mandalorian forces would be met with swift and heavy opposition, armored Sith Troopers wielding gladius rifles and vibroswords engaged them both at distance and in close melee combat. The fields where Mandalorian forces landed in their drop zone were a locus of calamity for only a brief second, the thundering steps of armored boots and rumbling echoes of military convoys soon came into horizon. Platoons of heavy troopers rampaged across the terrain and took full advantage of the open plot of land that lay slightly south of the Field. Their blaster fire combined with rocket launchers and fragmentation grenades soon converted this hollow piece of land into a death casting tornado, an epicenter of chaos and murder.

Following the soldiers, came a cloud of dense white smoke, large enough to cover an entire convoy and barreled with the rumbling of heavy artillery. Coming out of the smoke came a crew of six Humbler Assault tanks, and the fog behind them suddenly corrupted by an eruption of ghastly, crimson light. Hundreds of red-bled lightsabers erupted in concert, a horde of Sith acolytes, crusaders, and even lesser Lords as they darted forwards to join in the fray.

Leading the charge, was the commander of all this: The Dark Councilor of Military Offense, Darth Victress. Dressed in her usual armor and with her gear, she blended well with the army of Sith at her back but the aura around her was distinct and a fear inspiring sight. Ten meters to her north was her own Humbler Assault Tank, commanded by her apprentice @Niish Chichel. About three meters to her right was a second Humbler tank while the other accompanying tanks moved in various angles, casting a barricade of impervium in front of her. The white smoke would dissipate around 35 meters Southwest from the Mandalorian's current position allowing her and her tank to be visible only at that point; her the legendary weapon, the Fallen blade was ignited and held in her right fist. The Force palpated with her tremendous power and potential, bending to her will as she so desired and prepared for the oncoming onslaught.

The Dark Councilor had arrived and with her came hell, hath, and fury. The reflection of Imperial Might....

Nothing coming from the air was any more frightening to the Corellians than the Sith that already stood watch over the Mandalorians targeted barracks. Sitting within the Humbler-class Tank, about ten meters North of Victress, and West of the Mandalorians and their War-Droids. From the driver's seat, Niish sat in his usual armor, his light repeater, locked and loaded at his side, as well as his newest addition to his collection of arms, a Quickdraw pistol, which sat his his lap. The crew that was with him were trained tank operators, and knew what Niish did not about the operation of this vehicle. Having no other passengers, the top speed of the Tank was almost twice that of the quadrupedal War Droids before them.

"Weapons ready, sir," the Main-Gunner called out to Niish, followed by the two machine gunners, who had already aimed individually their weapons at the two Mandalorians.

"Wait for Target Lock, and Thisss One's mark to fire," the Sith spoke, into the commslink betwixt the four operators of the Tank. Meanwhile, as his team did as he commanded, he looked outward from the cockpit, as the smoke dissipated, and the blue glow of Burkhart's Bulwark shield shone ever so slightly from beyond the smoky foreground. Having known who he was through Q'san Torobah, a Sith Imperial, who'd fought and survived a confrontation with the infamous Kelborn, he knew what to look for on the battlefield. "Main Gunner, aim at Kelborn's War Droid's center mass, and wait for Thisss One's mark to fire. Heavy gunners, take aim on Solus, one on the droid, the other on the driver," he spat, receiving 'yessir's' from the crew. As the weapons warmed up, and acquired their targets, Niish drew inward on the Force, ready to use it to manipulate the Droids or their riders as needed, from his clear view of them behind his Ceraglass view-port.

Leandros listened to the flurry of blaster shots and clashing blades from within the barracks as his teams of Mandalorians engaged with the enemy. As soon as they landed, the open space of the garrison quickly filled up with bodies. Imperials and Mandalorians smashed together, two tides of warriors fighting for wholly different causes. For the Imperials – fear, loyalty, a resistance to change; for the Mandalorians – pride, hate, a desire to overthrow the Empire. Neither side could understand the other, and both sides wanted nothing more than to see their foe driven before them, completely and utterly crushed underfoot.

His communicator beeped with a message: Don’t die. Love, R. She was so sweet.

Leandros smiled to himself and quickly tapped back, Thanks babe ily – <3 L, before returning his focus to the battle. They’d have so much to talk about after this during the celebrations!

His droid fired indiscriminately into the crowd the second it registered targets, the starship-grade laser cannons vaporizing anyone unfortunate enough to be caught in their path. Dirt and fragments of metal and stone flew all around as explosions rocked the area. The screams and shouts of the damned and dying sang a baleful dirge that the gods themselves would turn their ears towards, eager to witness the blood spilled in their name. Leandros, a faceless champion behind the anonymity of his visor, looked on at the slaughter until a deep rumble stole his attention.

A cloud of smoke precipitated the arrival of six Humbler-class tanks, the Imperial response to the basilisk presence. Familiar with the vehicles from having participated in the theft of several months before, Leandros knew that his mount’s impressive armor was resistant to small arms up to their main turret and could withstand being shot at least once - a risk he was willing to take. Furthermore, he was intimately familiar with the level of armor they sported and knew that the plasma cannon cluster on his droid’s nose could penetrate the frontal armor, with his light laser cannons being capable of smashing right through the ceraglass canopy of the cockpit.

There was something to be said about the battlefield coordination between two Mandalorian veterans; that is to say, there rarely was any. Their level of cohesion was often so high that two Mandalorians could operate entirely independent of one-another yet remain perfectly in sync with their comrades, such was their skill. Relying on Burkhart to maintain that cohesion, Leandros barked out a quick order to his basilisk. The droid reared back on its legs, completely obscuring Leandros from view of the tanks or infantry and protecting him with its impressive armor. At the same time, the droid let out a low hum of confirmation and fired its cluster of plasma cannons at the cockpit of the second tank to come out of the smoke, not giving them the opportunity to stop or train their weapons on the Mandalorians.

The air quickly turned to static and the horrible smell of ozone assailed him as the beam of energy shot out from the droid and seared through the ceraglass cockpit of the tank. A basilisk’s plasma cannons had the sheer destructive power of three heavy laser cannons, and the reinforced canopy could do nothing to stop it as its driver was completely and utterly atomized, sending a resounding and powerful explosion rocking the entire rest of the tank, leaving the chances of survival for the rest of the crew extremely unlikely. To further ensure the Humbler was devastated, the droid’s twin light laser cannons fired simultaneously, aimed at the side of the tank where the armor was weakest to punch through and kill anyone who may have survived. Surely afterwards a significant explosion would occur once the tank had taken such withering and devastating fire.

The basiliskians prided themselves on the destructive capabilities of their droids, and this was proving to be true.

While the laser and plasma cannons violated the second tank, Leandros directed his droid to fire one frag rocket at the open space between it and the first tank and another at the space at the tail end, both aimed to hit at the ground in order to prevent any troop movement around the tank. Anyone wanting to move between the first and second or second and third tanks would be met with deadly shrapnel with a five-meter blast radius, effectively ensuring nobody that wasn’t suicidal would poke their head out in the open.

A cloud off smoke from the fire and debris dominated a significant portion of the battle field. The Morling's eyes searched for the first tell tale signs of a threat. His spotters would only be able to inform him of the same thing he was experiencing. Then information about sith, lightsabers activating pierced the clouded area. The rumble of multi-ton vehicles shook the ground and even through the stalwart frame of his mount Burkhart Kelborn could tell something immense was coming.

Reports of movements came in to Burkhart's pointed ears of troop movements all around the area. Trained combat experience allowed him to piece together the flow of battle and where opposition was weakest and where it was strongest. Like the beast it was named after the Basilisk war droid reared its gun faced head. Stray small arms blaster pinged off its resilient armor. The Mandalorians that landed were engaging the common troops without hesitation where it was realized. Shots from the roof top marauders took out the daring Imperial Troops that were not imbroiled in a close melee. The Sith would learn today how hard the bit of Kelborn wolves could be.

The moment one of the humbler tank made itself visible in silhouette through the smoke the Mandalorian opened up his weapons system. Burkhart had dealt in arms and begrudgingly had interactions with Imperial based arms trade. The intelligence of enemy vehicles was not oncommon especially for such a vehicle that practically begged for attention. While Burkhart heard Leandors 'bark an order' the Morling literally barked in his native tongue. The basilisk was well trained and bonded with its rider. They had been through a lot and claimed many imperial lives. Today would just see them added to that.

The droid straightened its front arms out making its head rise up inbetween Burkhart and the arriving vehicles, thus shielding him from any incoming fire from the tanks but still capable of firing its own weaponry. But the droid was smart enough to hold the target the Field Marshal had designated even as he pressed himself tight against and low so that he would not be seen.

The tank was the first out of the cloud and the north western most out of its kin. (@Gian Greydragon ) His weapons system firing would likely hit the known weak point of the tank, the cockpit. The cockpit of the vehicle was susceptible to small arms weaponry though if Burkhart wanted to use such paltry fire power it would have required some time. Wisely the Alor of Clan Kelborn had two light laser cannons on the front of the droid which were more than enough to not only destroy the reinforced cockpit but pierce it. The Morling intended for the tank to take irreparable damage before a target lock or firing solution could be made by the tank commander and its crew.

True to his Kelborn ways Burkhart never did anything half assed. It was both a blessing and a curse. He had killed a man by just trying to knock him out with a wrench once. In this case he was not even trying to hold back. The droid fired its nose mounted plasma cannons. On either side it let lose a rocket to catch the sides of the tank's front and further spray the cockpit with explosive shrapnel and catch any risk of movement adjustment or course correction with its destructive power.

Even with a humbler's known starship hull grade armor it was not capable of weathering the storm of Mandalorian furry that Burkhart's war droid was sending towards the tank piloted, unknowingly, by Niish Chichel. To the Kelborn clan leader it was just the first and most prominent threat he saw. Therefore it had to be taken out. On the bar or on the battlefield it would seem the rule of 'first come first serve' was shared. It was not until after all the weapons discharged that the Morling realized he was howling like a mad wolf.

And So it had begun…

Imperials and Mandalorians clashed in eternal battle, two entirely different cultures and two entirely opposite causes. It was more than conflict, it was a holy war, and the world of Corellia would be tainted hollow with the sacred blood of those who fell today. There would be no compromise, no negotiation, and arguably no prisoners. Spoils would go to the victor, and those who fell, their names would echo in eternity for their sacrifice. That was the magnitude on which they fought, all of them, not Sith, not Mandalorian, but all of them. This was the battle that the entire Galaxy wanted to see.

The dark councilor was agile and powerful, moving with predatory grace as she utilized her high mobility and sprinted prior to coming out of the smokescreen. She moved rapidly in a Northeastern direction, increasing the gap between her and tank 2 by more than 7 meters while also approaching a position of 30 meters in between her and the War Droids as their weapons' systems materialized. Green eyes tainted by corruption of darkness, piercing golden gaze laid on the machinations of death; The Basilisks were powerful, this was unquestioned, but they weren’t invincible. As the councilor of military offense, she was the supreme leader of the Empire’s armies. As such, she had been well educated in the warfare tactics of her most dangerous opponent: The Mandalorians. She knew that the droids’ possessed significant armor but they did have two glaring weaknesses: the vulnerability of their exposed rider and their poor maneuverability once on the ground in a stationary position.

Leandros' droid was reared up as it atomized Tank 2 coming out of the smokescreen. The combination of armament on the mechanical construct was nothing short of impressive and the operators of Tank 2 were simply not sharp enough to escape the barrage that claimed their lives. Simultaneously to the tank's violation, the War Droid shot off two rockets aimed at locations in the gap between tank 1 and 2 as well as the space at the tail end of tank 2. Darth Victress, however, terrorized the battlefield with her formidable speed, and given her current positioning as well as quick movements eastward, she had already moved outside the explosive epicenter of the dying Tank as well as the second rocket's blast and shrapnel radius as it slammed towards the ground at the tail end of the tank. As for the first rocket, Darth Victress instinctively lifted her left palm and shot forth a telekinetic push to slam into the rocket and re-direct it to a far right trajectory such that it would explode in the gap between tanks 2 and 3, thus allowing her to avoid its sphere of damaging explosion and shrapnel all together.

In retaliation, dark energies swirled across the palm of her left hand as she focused her attention on Solus' Basilisk. She gestured with her fingertips into a claw like formation before squeezing them together quickly in a tightened fist. She delivered ripples of Force, invoking the abilities of Disable Droid towards the machination. She knew that disabling the entire droid would be taxing, but luckily, even the strongest of behemoths were useless if they laid flat on their stomach. As such, she targeted only the right sided front leg. The force ability delivered a surge of force power, tugging at electronic components and short-circuiting processors as a billow of electric current and smoke would likely exude from the appendage. The force assault was quick and simple given her power level, her goal to simply disrupt and disable the leg such that the Droid would not be able to bear weight on it any further. Such an attack would limit its maneuverability and the sudden loss of balance would hopefully expose its rider into the impeding path of the twin repeater blasters aimed at him as Niish's tank exited the smoke cloud. @Pai-Mike

Darth Victress had continued her movements during the course of the attack and through its conclusion, remaining agile and blending with the numerous other crimson wielding Sith around her. As such, she was obscured in a sea of combatants, preventing her from being easily identified by her adversaries. Force drew inward once again, wrapping defensively but also palpated with her vile presence in preparation for the next attack or defense accordingly.

"Main Cannon, fire below the glowing blue orb!" Niish barked, from the thin veil of the fog. He had forgone acquiring a target lock, but his experiences in the past with Mandalorians knew better than to give them a chance. The shot would ring out, blowing through thin smoke at a target area just below Burkhart's larger Bulwark shield, essentially the shoulder of the War Droid, and fairly close to the saddle of the droid. @Darasuum Before Burkhart could open up with his Plasma cannon, and concurrent weapons systems, light-blue twin blaster bolts would scream through the air, at the Droid, just before Niish lifted upward with the Force underneath the nose of the Basilisk, as he continued gunning it toward the Northwest. The compounded effects of him being able to pinpoint an area through the smoke, moments before, would mean that Burkhart would never have the chance to open up his arsenal of munitions against Niish and his tank.

As he moved forward at full throttle, he would plow through a group of Mandalorians running into the fray, blades, and blaster pistols drawn, to be helplessly crushed, or wounded otherwise by the tank, saving a contingent of repeater-gunners from a flanking charge. As he closed the distance down to about 15 meters, then moving East along the Northernmost edge of the field, after pushing forward at full gallop, into the view of the other tank, he ordered the tank repeater-gunners to open fire on Leandros Solus, who was currently aiming to fire a Frag rocket between two other tanks in his team. @Pai-Mike

Leandros watched his basilisk’s shots land with swift and ruthless efficacy, the tank being utterly annihilated before its crew had a chance to react. Smoke and shrapnel erupted from the wreckage and shredded several Imperial soldiers. His rockets, however, did not hit their intended targets, but rather veered off course and impacted in the same spot behind the tank. Immediately, his attention was fixated on the gap where his rockets didn’t land, scanning through the targets to find the source. Although the numerous saber-wielding combatants made it slightly difficult, there was one common trend among them: they all wore the same standard Sith marauder armor. All of them except for one who stood out in her unique, personalized Dark Councilor armor. The woman was facing him, staring him down in a challenging manner. He pointed his right arm at Victress’ approximate position and fired off a wrist rocket towards her just as she raised her arm to disable his droid in retaliation for manipulating his droid’s rockets and to keep her occupied.

Leandros was about to direct his droid to continue destroying tanks when he felt the sudden jerk on the right side as its leg gave out. Almost immediately, Leandros hit the quick-release straps and jumped off of the droid, triggering his jetpack’s combat jump and sending him eight (8) meters into the air into the safety of the sky and away from the risk of the first tank’s potential repeater bolts if it managed to get them off before being blown up. Both of his QuickDraws flew into his hands as he rocketed upwards. He activated the pack’s flight mode while in midair, allowing him to hover at eight meters up and two (2) meters in front of his droid. Down below, his droid groaned mechanically and swiveled its head, firing its cannons and rockets into the crowd and towards the next closest tank to destroy it. Leandros grimaced as he realized that the droid wouldn’t be able to bear weight on its right leg, but figured it would hold its own while stationary without him on it.

While he hung in the air, Leandros scanned the battlefield quickly for the source of his droid’s sudden failure. No matter how many acolytes and crusaders ran around engaging Mandalorians in combat, a Dark Councilor in personalized dark armor stood out as a high priority target like a beacon, and he picked her out swiftly after having seen her from before her droid-disabling attack.

With a horizontal distance of 28m and a vertical distance of 8m between Leandros and Victress, he was just within range of his QuickDraws’ maximum range at 29m diagonally. He squeezed off a single shot from both of his pistols at her, sending four bolts her way to occupy her attention. He was locked in on her, now, and she would not escape him. If she moved or attempted to use the Force on him, he'd fire another four bolts at her and maneuver clockwise and opposite Burkhart with his jetpack to prevent her attacks from landing, as well as to keep the two of them clear from flying into each other's fields of fire. Regardless of what she did, he would still maneuver into a more favorable position.

_______________

The roar of heavy artillery being discharged thundered from all parties. He heard the impacts of the basilisk's attack strike true. Simultanously though the weapons of the tank had gotten off a shot. The heavy blaster cannons were tantamount to light laser cannons which the basilisk was susceptible to. The primary impact point on the raised droids mitigated the damage intended for Burkhart. Still, the blast area of the cannon would still reach the mandalorian to a degree. First it was his gauntlet bulwark shield that shorted out, next all the armor encasing his left elbow up to his shoulder cracked and sizzled. It was weakened to the point that it would not be able to protect that part of his limb from another direct attack.

The droid beneath him groaned. It was not completely out of the fight but it would be foolish of Burkhart to remain on top of it. The basilisk war droid's left shoulder joint had a big tear around where the blast from tank had impacted. It leaned forward trying to deal with the loss in strength of its mechanical appendage. It was rendered stationary for the time being but it new to keep blasting at any tanks or harming the troops combating the marauders until its master said otherwise. It seemed that Leandros's Basilisk was in a mirrored state and taking similar actions.

Hitting the quick release Burkhart would leave his mount and unlatch the release for his cradled light repeater. Shooting up into the air in synchronized efficiency he was level with Leanderos and hovering for the time being but instead of moving closer to the enemy he straffed to the north a bit to get a better angle on the target. Now he and Leandros were aiming at the same target from two different directions, roughly seven to nine meters apart. The Morling activated his flight mode in mid air and then leveled his light repeater, bracing it with practiced ease against his large frame and sighting in on the same distinguished target his brother in arms was. He let loose a controlled burst of five round towards the distinguished masked individual, poised and ready to move to a new angle depending the following actions.

And then there was one…

It was a surreal sound, whispers of death overshadowed by ruthless efficiency of the Mandalorian war machines. Thundering cannon fire of the Basilisk ripped apart her Humbler tank, leading to the demise of her apprentice. She snarled as Niish’s life force abruptly ended, torn away like many of her previous associates at the hands of these death dealing scoundrels. It wasn’t sorrow that filled her, but rather the escalation of hatred and pure rage. However, instead of pushing it away, she embraced it; anger would fuel her abilities, gifting her with strength and focus as she channeled herself as the bastion of Imperial Dominance.

When Leandros fixated his gaze upon her, the abyss laced eyes of gold stared back at him; Darth Victress was constantly moving, knowing to keep herself out of the droids' destructive path as the War Councilor lifted his arm to fire the rocket. Natural agility and quickness allowing her to advance in her continued Northeastern path, creating distance between herself and the targeted trajectory of the enemy projectile. The rocket would whiz to a position behind her, smashing into the ground with unforgiving brutality. Both Mandalorian and Imperial soldiers were blown away from the explosion but she had already by that time escaped out of its damaging radius. Nonetheless, shards of shrapnel whistled in a spherical manner, tearing at the ebony cloth of her right shoulder and scraping against the armored pauldron underneath as her figure moved. Her disable droid tactic worked, watching as the Basilisk attempted to direct itself forward but jerked underneath the weight of the collapsing appendage. It was moments before when her tank was destroyed that a similar fate fell upon Burkhart’s droid, forcing both Mandalorian combatants to turn airborne. Darth Victress gave no pause to commemorate the small victory, her predatory velocity maintained itself on the battlefield; It was at this moment that she would seize her opportunity to attack, shifting her focus from defensive to offensive.

Her free hand snapped forwards, fingers fanning out and then suddenly curling inwards as her nails dug into the very fibers of the armored gauntlet. The gesture was powerful and allowed her full manipulation and delivery of her force powers. Capable of reacting on a moment’s notice, she decided to inflict damage upon the Kelborn Mandalorian's jetpack. The force reached outwards as coiling tendrils and violently applied a grip to quickly crush the exposed cylindrical piping of the left sided thruster of Burkhart. Darth Victress timed her attack to occur prior to Burkhart strafing north. It was a single application, and crushing the pipe would prevent exhaust flow from the thruster and thus disabling it. She recalled a similar attack used by Varyn Rask on Al’doleem on their fallen comrade, Daniel Solus. However, instead of crushing the entire Jetpack which took a few moments, her focus was simply on the small cylinder pipes that composed the thrusters. Additionally, she was now considerably more powerful than the former Sith Lord at that time. @Darasuum

The attack would serve two purposes; first, she hoped that the sudden change in aerodynamics would send the warrior on a violent, spiraling course towards his comrade to injure both of them in a collision and likely lose altitude in vertical positioning. Secondly, as the attack took effect prior to Burkhart gaining target acquisition and leveling his light repeater, it would serve to interrupt his attack all together. The only remaining threat was Leandros, being the superior combatant of the two as the dual-wielded Quickdraws fired in synchrony. As Darth Victress was already moving, two of the bolts whistled past a location where her right shoulder previously was. Her lightsaber whirled with precision of a master of the force, catching the two other bolts on the blade of her plasma weapon and with directed deflection, sent them back towards their originator. @Pai-Mike

In case Burkhart managed to regain his composure and fire off his weapon or if the dangerous Leandros would try to follow up with an immediate attack, she was prepared. Her lightsaber resting in a strong, defensive position held diagonally across her chest while the left palm pulsated with brewing force magics. Though outnumbered, she retained her poise and confidence as it displayed in her posture; advancing towards the duo to a range of 20 meters. Her positioning allowed her to maintain a cone of vision on both adversaries for the time being, eyes scanning carefully between the two Mandalorians while also keeping herself mobile as their deadly duel continued.

Leandros did not hesitate once he shot his initial four bolts and was on the move before both Victress’ assault on Burkhart’s jetpack and her reflected bolts could threaten him. Now that he was in flight mode, he could move with great speed and angled himself in such a way as to travel fourteen meters southwest of his position in the span of a second thanks to the jetpacks fifty kilometers-per-hour travel speed.

During that one second of flight, he squeezed the triggers of his Quickdraws another two times apiece, sending eight bolts her way as he traveled, with four bolts heading at her from the seven meter mark and another four from the fourteen meter mark, which was roughly three meters from the tip of the rightmost destroyed tank, giving her two vastly different angles to defend from and putting either Burkhart or Leandros out of her line of sight, depending on whom she focused on. Following the first volley, he dropped three meters to put him five meters above the ground while he flew by dipping slightly along his path. With him being five meters in the air, she would need to focus her attention on the attacks coming from above and two different angles with a half-second or so between the shots and far less than a half-second travel time for both quadruples of shots. He was a highly-skilled veteran, and such movement would not shake his aim to such a degree that he would miss his shots. These attacks would occur as Victress walked forward eight meters, giving him ample time to move while she moved. He would likely reach his final position before she reached hers.

His comrade was the focus of her attack, and, through that focus, Leandros could move into a more favorable position, as well as allow Burkhart the ability to flank her in order to give the two of them very different fields of fire. If Victress attempted to use the Force on him during his movement, he would shoot sooner and maneuver his jetpack downward several meters suddenly to shake her focus and force her to pay more attention to him while his comrade flanked. Based on where he was now, there was a distance of roughly eleven meters between him and Victress based on the ten meters horizontal and five meters vertical distance between them. There still hung a thick, hazy smoke cloud around the tank he was near from its previous entrance to the battlefield. Leandros knew that the average smoke grenade took two minutes to disperse, and he figured it would take just as long as, if not longer, for the more-powerful smokescreen generator of the Humbler tank's to disperse. By the end of his movement, he was obscured in the fog and well out of sight of Victress.

He was hunting now, falling back on his predatory Mandalorian instincts as he adjusted to the rhythm of battle. All around them soldiers clashed and cried out to their gods or their families as war cries or death gasps. Each one was wholly committed to eradicating the other, to see their light extinguished from this world. It would be difficult to tell who was winning so far, for the corpses on both sides began to stack up accordingly. The din of war grew deafening and the screams of the populace outside of the garrison rang out. They were not prepared for this scale of battle.

As Burkhart reached the apex of his height he did not have time to switch to flight mode. Instead it felt like one of his jetpack thrusters malfunctions as his inner ear told him he was going down. Since all the thrust was upwards and a sudden disappearance of half of it occurred he began falling at a decreased rate as the right thrusters struggled to hold up his mass. He would have drifted over to his own left a meter or so but he made a speeder correction with a simple lean to drop down and stand on top of the saddle of his immobile mount that had remained beneath him.

As he landed with a heavy thump he quickly righted himself and sighted in on the enemy before him. his bulging biceps and large body was meant to be able to control such a high rate of fire. The Basilisk war droid was still high off the ground and technically gave him some high ground to look down at a slight angle towards Victress. His sturdy frame would not be so easily shaken from a short drop like that. Keeping his light repeater shouldered he fired off a burst of five rounds in time with Leandros's sweeping maneuver. Over the wide spanning distance she would have a tough time avoiding so many shots fired on her simultaneously.

The sounds of battle echoed around the trio, death and bloodshed fueled by hatred that had brewed for centuries. Time slowing in its wake, as the Dark Councilor faced off against two of Mandalore’s greatest champions. No one could deny that Leandros and Burkhart were magnificent fighters, perhaps some of the best the realm of Mandalore had ever seen. However, they had never fought a Darth before, and none as powerful as the commander of Imperial might. Her decision to come to Corellia was as much pride as it was practical, knowing full well that lesser Sith such as Darth Parox or Tagus would have likely fallen long ago to the combined might of these two warriors. She however, was Darth Victress, and for all those that doubted her abilities in combat, this duel would prove them otherwise.

For as mighty as the Mandalorians were, they had one glaring weakness…their attacks were predictable. It came as no surprise to her that they had decided to concentrate vast firepower into a single position of time and space. Such a maneuver would have easily worked on lesser Sith as they lacked the discipline, speed, and ability to defend against such numerous attacks. However, Darth Victress had mentally remained one step ahead. As they focused on her current position, they simplified their offense, but in turn also simplified her defense. Her cone of vision had accounted for both adversaries through her deflection of Leandros’ previous attack and as he moved, so did she in counter. One second.. it wasn’t an eternity, but it was enough for two steps. Planting with her left, she strafed to her right; the force flowed through her flesh, pulsating in her veins as it aided her concentration to help defend against the first flurry of blaster bolts.

Her movements ensured that her position altered, causing the first of Burkhart’s shots and Leandros’ two quickdraw bolts in quick succession to whiz past where her left shoulder had been. Darth Victress had already maintained her saber in a prime defensive position and thus as she moved, she whirled her saber in a counter-clockwise arc. Two quickdraw bolts caught on the proximal shaft of the crimson weapon while the distal tip deflected a second light bolt. Her wrist snapped as a functional fulcrum, striking the third light bolt back towards the general direction of its caster without any notable precision. @Darasuum The last two light bolts of Burkhart were unaccounted for and they smashed against the armor of her torso and left shoulder. Considering the light rating, her armor attenuated all damage and thus causing her only a brief moment of discomfort but would not be enough to distract or interrupt her ongoing force attack.

Only a part of her force power remained on defense, and thus simultaneously…the rest facilitated her offensive assault. Darth Victress was immensely powerful, capable of engaging multiple enemies and using powerful force abilities on a moment's notice. The other half of her force power...well…that was for a much more vile and sinister application. Darth Victress had been gathering force energies in the palm of her left hand since Leandros’ previous attack; her force usage had been rather conservative, but now was time to end this. A wicked grin came upon her face, the attack on Burkhart’s jetpack was a merely a ploy to cause separation between the two brothers at arms. A trap in which they had seemingly fallen into; Leandros Solus had always been her primary target, and as he accelerated to close the gap between them, he inevitably facilitated his own doom. Despite any fancy maneuvering he was capable of, there was one singular constant that remained clearly visible in her line of sight: The flames from the turbines of his jetpack. Reaching forward in an explosive manner, she channeled the capabilities of Force Fire into a vicious and powerful application. As the force attack targeted the flames and not his person, Leandros would not immediately recognize the threat until of course it was too late. Darth Victress manipulated the flames of his jetpack and coaxed them into a voracious stream that drew towards her as a magnet. This would cause the flames to expand and carve a path immediately at the unarmored legs of Leandros. The infamous War Councilor was not wearing any armor on his lower extremities and neither had a thermal undersuit to afford protection against the burns. While his thighs and hamstrings were likely to be impacted first, air molecules rubbed against each other and bubbled with heat as the wildfire spread rapidly into a column of flame that would extend from the manipulated flames to encompass the base of his heels to the tip of his head, engulfing the Mandalorian in entirety. This attack was timed to occur during the course of Leandros' own committed attacks, leaving him or Burkhart very little opportunity to mount a follow up defense. @Pai-Mike

Her attack had been prepared, facilitating its usage to be quicker, more powerful, and most importantly less taxing. Despite this, Darth Victress knew that maintaining a continuous force fire application would drain her stamina and thus she applied the attack as a burst rather than an ongoing spectacle. As soon as the column of fire reached its height over the course of just a few moments, she relinquished her manipulation and left the fire to burn away on its own on the flammable exterior of Leandros. She realized that withdrawing the attack at this point would likely limit its full lethality, but also ensured that she had retained enough force reserves to continue to weather the storm against her opponents longer. @Pai-Mike

Her attack would not be instant, and completed during the time course of Leandros flight path. Thus, it had begun as Leandros was moving and carried through his volley of shots. However, by the time he had reached the 14 meter mark, he would have several things to contend with. First off was her growing force fire attack, the second was that as the flames were manipulated at an angle to burn him, they would lose their ability to provide adequate thrust and thus likely plummet him in altitude given his previous rapid rate of 50 km/h, and the third was her mobile positioning. She was confident that the culmination of these aspects interrupted his second attack all together. However, if he did manage to re-adjust aim through all those obstacles or if Burkhart wished a follow up attack, she was ready. Partial concentration still retained on defense and she kept her lightsaber prepared, held in a diagonal manner across her chest as she continued to deflect blaster bolts that came her direction. Darth Victress had kept moving towards her east throughout her attack, and thus towards Leandros; this decrease in distance between them served to facilitate the potency of her attack as well as allow her to maintain her cone of vision on both her enemies simultaneously. As her offensive attack concluded, she drew back onto the pillars of the force, sapping the energies towards her as a beacon of power.

Leandros blitzed across the battlefield as fast as his jetpack would allow, keeping his focus on Victress as she deftly deflected or otherwise avoided his and Burkhart’s attacks. His first two bolts whizzed past her, and her blade caught the other two and sent them off to do no harm. While he flew, Victress manipulated the flames of his jetpack, unbeknownst to him, in an attempt to burn his legs over the course of his flight. As he approached the fourteen-meter mark to perform his second volley, he felt the flames lick at his legs. However, as Victress’ attack had not yet reached its zenith by the time of his attack – and most likely would take a second more to do so, as they were still growing – Leandros would not be interrupted in his actions. The flames caused surface burns to the backs of his legs, but his adrenaline-fueled body and mind ignored the pain and focused on his hatred for his target. By the time of the fourteen meter mark, Leandros let loose another volley of four bolts towards the woman to otherwise occupy her attention. By now, he would be at that ninety-degree angle with him, her, and Burkhart, which ought to provide her with some difficulty in deflecting the bolts as Burkhart’s final two reached her.

Additionally, as he reached that fourteen-meter mark, the smokescreen of the tank surrounded him, obscuring his body entirely. As soon as his bolts left the blaster and he realized what she was doing, Leandros rotated his body in such a way as to face his jetpack towards Victress, who was drawing the flames towards her like a magnet. Simultaneous to his rotation, he dipped his body downward and dove towards the ground several meters, utilizing the natural decrease in altitude before reaching up to his wrist and deactivating the jetpack. As he fell further into the smoke, Leandros naturally tucked his body and rolled forward a meter along the tank to absorb the shock of landing onto the ground. Having been fully obscured from Victress since reaching the fourteen-meter mark, he felt confident in the fact that he was safe from further application of the Force by her. The landing jarred him momentarily, but, since he was a veteran warrior, he sprung right back to his feet and had his pistols up and ready to engage. Since reaching the fourteen-meter mark concluded at the end of his first second, dipping and rolling took another second to complete.

The smoke obfuscated his person, though it did not affect his breathing or eyes thanks to his environment suit, and he moved like a shade in the cloud. The destroyed tank smoldered behind him, though he was thankful for its smokescreen. Victress would surely be moving towards the location he last entered the smoke, he surmised, since she had focused on him throughout the fight, and, as such, he would provide her with a difficult target. Rather than pop up right out of the smokescreen at her, he moved forward along the tank and popped up a few meters past where he entered and where she last saw him, pistols raised. The instant he saw her silhouette while he was in the smoke, he fired another volley, with one pair of bolts aimed at her lower left section of her torso and the other pair aimed at her upper right section of her torso. As she was holding the saber in her right hand and held it diagonally across her chest, the blade covered a region that did not defend where his bolts went, on top of his attack coming from an unsuspected position. He was still partially obscured, but he could still see Victress thanks to his sealed helmet and knew where her last location was at, so it would not affect his aim. The instant he stopped pulling the trigger, he jumped diagonally upwards into the smoke and triggered his jetpack's combat mode, sending him another ten meters up, firing at Victress as he flew to send another four bolts towards her from above to continually occupy her attention and provide another second of consistent fire.

Additionally, as she approached closer to where she thought Leandros was, the distance between his bolts and her was reduced even more now that they were seven or eight meters apart on the ground, giving her less time to react to his shots. Furthermore, the point he popped out of the smoke put him and Burkhart at such an angle as to guarantee at least one of them would be out of her line of sight the moment she tried to defend against them, since it would no longer be possible to keep both of them in her periphery as she defended and approached Leandros simultaneously. Victress now had to contend with eight more bolts heading towards her at far closer range from a different position than she would expect on top of whatever Burkhart sent her way over the course of the two seconds following his second volley at the fourteen-meter mark. If Victress moved during his attacks, he would ensure he followed her movements to continue firing at her person.

It was quite simple really. Burkhart just simply had to keep holding down the trigger of the light repeater. He was able to adjust and adapt to the recoil after the first burst. It had been his weapon of choice for a long time and his large bulging biceps, hardy frame and the stability provided by the basilisk war droid's head added to the precision he was sending down range towards victress. One of his light blaster bolts from the first burst wizzed passed making his eyes squint just harder.

Over the course of the next few seconds the Field Marshal would hold down the trigger and keep the weapon centered on the crimson lightsaber wielder. She would have trouble focusing on both Burkhart and Leandros as they were in different angles, becoming more extreme by the moment. The constant hail of fire was not doing Victress any favors and she would end up leaving her back open to one of them.

Darth Victress maintained her defensive commitment, knowing full well that Leandros would likely be able to fire even under duress, the escalating force fire not enough to shatter his resilience. Her instincts correct, she was prepared as her visual focus remained on Leandros and seamlessly transitioned her upper body to twist towards the right in order to facilitate her defense against the angled attack. Right wrist remained as a functional fulcrum, enabling the blade to complete its counter-clockwise arc moments before and with her body in movement, she absorbed the brunt of the two light bolts from Burkhart’s previous attack into her armored torso. Force of the blows not enough to detract her own resolve but enough to stagger her body to the right, enabling the first of the right-handed quickdraw bolts to whistle past her left shoulder while the second was caught as the saber completed its whirl. The left handed bolts came simultaneously, but as her chest was guarded by the horizontally held weapon, her wrist already angled the proximal region of the crimson shaft to catch and deflect the two bolts away from her.

At this moment, her force fire was countered by Leandros’ quick thinking and turned against her to flicker in the distance between them. The flames were too far away to be dangerous to her but as she realized the attack was defended against, she withdrew her grasp on the fire sooner than she initially anticipated. Force energies drew back into the palm of her hand, as eyes shifted quickly towards the barrage of light blaster bolts that Burkhart was sending her way. The fully automatic fire of the repeater was not the most accurate of weaponry, and considering her constant motion, many bolts whizzed past her. However, those that came within striking distance, Darth Victress continued her lightsaber in defensive blows, deflecting and batting the bolts away with the efficiency of an unequaled master of the force. Her free hand jerked inwards, the subtle gesture sending a corresponding force attack towards her opponent’s light repeater and with a sudden motion of the force, to twist the weapon to the right, skewing the barrage away from her for the time being. Obviously, her lightsaber remained defensively held in case Burkhart regained his composure quickly and managed to fire off more shots before she could enter the smoke screen herself. @Darasuum

During the course of her defense, Darth Victress had constantly been on the move. Instead of travelling the 10 meters to chase after Leandros’ position, she moved 7 meters South and entered the smokescreen as it loomed near the border of Tank #2. This was her army and she knew these tanks better than they did; the white smokescreen of the Humbler was designed to conceal the tank and make it appear unseen as it moved. As such, the thickest smog was out in front of the tanks while the region following it had a much thinner saturation. Leandros was correct to assume that he would be hidden when she was standing outside the screen, but now that they were both inside, that advantage disappeared and his armored silhouette became visible. An evil grin coming to her lips as she advanced into position; Leandros had selected the smokescreen as his salvation but in turn, it would serve as a courier for his demise. As doing so, he had alienated his comrade from assistance. The Kelborn at this time would no longer be able to gain a visual on Darth Victress through the smoke; even her crimson weapon held by her physically small stature would be obscured by the smoldering tanks surrounding them. Considering that Burkhart’s jetpack was dysfunctional, it would likely take him considerable time to travel the distance on foot before he could provide any meaningful aid. As such, in Darth Victress’ perspective, Burkhart was no longer an immediate threat.

She was now approximately 7 meters directly to his west as he moved along the course of the Tank. Force rippled across her left hand, as the lightsaber was held defensively in its typical diagonal manner. She had no doubt that Leandros would easily re-adjust his aim to her new position, but she was his equal and as he prepared his offense, she too did her defense. As Leandros fired, her left hand shot forth a vicious and powerful telekinetic blast. The wall of force smashed at his armored chest and arms, skewing the lower torso aimed quickdraw shots far left of her body while she simultaneously moved to the right. The twin bolts angled at her top right, were deflected, as she simply whirled her diagonal saber in a short clockwise pattern to catch them on their heels. @Pai-Mike

The force blast was powerful enough to sweep the Mandalorian off his feet and send him flying backwards, Darth Victress intending to impale him on the jagged edges of damaged duranium, canopy glass, and impervium of the destroyed tank. As the attack occurred simultaneous to his first shots, it would serve to interrupt his attempt at flying away and shooting at her again. However, if he did manage to escape somehow, her light saber remained ready to defend and deflect his bolts, as did brewing force magics within her free hand readied to utilize for her to gain the advantage. @Pai-Mike

Darth Victress swept in a Southwestern direction, placing herself in a position to easily defend against Leandros as well as if Burkhart managed to join the fray or if he simply decided to spray blaster fire recklessly through the veil of smoke.

Leandros stalked through the smoke, prepared to fire at Victress, when her diminutive silhouette came into focus within the smoke. Though neither of the two could clearly see the other in the dense fog, they could see just enough to attack. He let loose his first four bolts towards her after adjusting his aim, but a powerful telekinetic blast slammed into his chest and skewed his aim. The leftmost bolts sailed harmlessly past the woman, while his rightmost bolts slammed into her blade and were sent off to the side. The woman was powerful, certainly, but where she had the Force to provide her with strength, Leandros had tempered skill and decades of experience. She had been using the Force fairly consistently over the past several seconds, and he expected her to start growing weary of its constant application.

Simultaneous to his shots being thrown off course during the push, Leandros leapt up into the air and activated his jetpack and threw his weight forward, avoiding the looming jagged metal and other such hazards of the tank and resisting the push. As he sailed forward, he squeezed the trigger of his blaster once more and sent two more bolts towards Victress’ center mass, adjusting his aim to track her movements as he did so. Concurrently, he reached over with his non-firing hand and activated his cryocaster with his thumb, spraying forward a cone of carbonite at her to conceal his position and put her in significant danger. As the weapon had a range of 3 meters and produced a cone 1m wide and lasted for two seconds, he had plenty of time to cross the short distance between the two and keep the spray aimed at her the entire time before she could sweep in a southwest direction. With his thumb on the button, his other blaster was pointing at her. He squeezed the trigger and shot another pair of bolts. It was an awkward attack but with how close he was and with the bolts concealed by the cone of carbonite and coming after his first pair, she had almost zero chance of predicting or avoiding the attack while he advanced. He twisted his body when he began moving forward and strafed along her side, putting her between Burk and him as he kept a range of three meters in the air diagonal to her, just within range of his cryocaster but out of lightsaber threat. If Burkhart shot at them, he would be out of threat from his bolts while he strafed, and his jetpack’s thrust would prevent her from pulling him in while she deflected his two bolts that also headed towards her. While she prepared to defend against his bolts, she would not see him blitzing towards her with a cone of carbonite thanks to the smoke, and he knew she would not be able to protect herself from the weapon, since she assumed he would only shoot at her. If she attempted to attack him in some manner, he would veer hard in the opposite direction of her and up into the air, keeping the stream of carbonite pointed at her to keep her at bay.

He continued past her and through the smoke that thinned out behind her, keeping his cryocaster aimed at her the entire time as he sprayed. He exited the smoke concurrent to his shots and soared to five meters in the air and out of the haze. Now that he was out of the smoke and she was still several meters within it, he expected her to be unable to see him clearly, and he used this to his advantage, if she somehow survived his attack.

Leandros kept his body angled towards Victress, blasters raised and watching the smokescreen, but flew over the Humbler tank that Victress hid near, putting her between both him and Burkhart, effectively cutting off her routes of escape. If she managed to live and exited out the way she came, he and Burkhart would engage from two complete opposite directions. If she exited towards Leandros, he would continue to harass her and give chase in case she decided to flee in order to prevent such retreat. He kept his blasters aimed in the general vicinity, eyes scanning the fog to see which way she would emerge, and prepared to fire on her the moment she did.

From the distance he was at Victress was able to deal with his barrage of fire and he witnessed her hand reach towards his direction. He knew some attack was coming as he laid down the torrent of bolts. The light repeater jerked from his grip to the side missing shots but that did not stop him. Blasting off with his half working jetpack he was able to manage a distance of 5 meters to chase after Victress and steadily move another few meters. All the while he re-acquired the target of his enemy and continued to fire at her. Her body was well illuminated by her lightsaber and even if she turned it off he had a fix on her position. He had done something once before to a Sith in the darkness of night on another planet but circmustances were just slightly different. He would keep up the rain of light blaster bolts moving a total of ten meters closer towards Victress's position. As Burkhart moved he called over the communications link to leandros "losing visual"

Here he was thinking that tales of her prowess had said she was not a coward or some powerful warrior. Now she was trying to flee into the smoke like some low acolyte. Perhaps all the critiques of her actual tendencies were true.
