((Rikki, you can come right in.))
LOCATION: Undisclosed
It always seemed to rain on the first day of basic, but Abelle stopped caring after the second group of cadets. She stood at parade rest wile various new recruits filed out of the buildings and formed into a line. She would wait a moment longer until the stragglers fell in.
Snapping to a sharp attention she bellowed, "ATTENTION!" Some cadets snapped to the best show of attention they could, but most had barely a clue of military bearing. A drill instructor next to her stepped forward to deliver a string of insults and then correct the recruits how to stand. Thirty privates stood before her, before the day was over almost one third would be dismissed to other squads or simple drop out.
Abelle pulled out a waterproof data-pad and looked over the names. Right off the bat she pointed out five of them, "Dran Noth, Rikki Takemaru, Alhan Mkoll, Alyssa Taligan, and Drall Lei! Fall in behind me!" She then divvied up the rest of the recruits into fire teams of five, each had an instructor to their team.
"You have all gone through the very basics of the Republic military, and you should know the boys that stand with you now. You do not know me, I am Abelle Hallen. I have been watching you all train and I am impressed. You will be 1st squad, my squad." With that she turned sharply and gave the order to double-time it up the hill. Now began real training. The skills to become a true bred soldier of the republic.
This squad was the exceptional squad, the one she expected to follow orders, and complete the mission. Not all were leadership quality, but there were two she hoped would go far... but she wouldn't get caught up in that now.
Reaching the top of the hill she stopped and waited for her squad to halt. Before them stood a familiar building, "I have not spoken to any of you personally before, we will go inside, out of this blasted rain." She stopped when two of the privates chuckled. "Go inside." With that they entered the building.
Taking a seat on top of one of the tables, Abelle waited fro the others to group around in a loose circle. "Alright, who wants to lead this fire team? Any volunteers?" She rubbed her hands together for a moment, she wanted more than one of them to volunteer.
