THIS CHARACTER IS DEAD

The Gambler

I've got lies to tell your children
When my smile pierces through your bones
Right through your bones
The grass is green inside the yard
I can make you laugh so ****ing hard
It hurts you
Inside your bones

Blake Zeth
Boss of the Sontrebren Crew

Hey, I’m not a jerk! I can be a nice guy. Yeah, I CAN be, but only if you’re being nice to me. Otherwise I’ll just let my blaster scream your name and your done for. Don’t mess with me, kid.

Name: Blake Zeth
(Born Leod Jameson)
Nickname: The Gambler
Age: 45
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Birthplace: Coruscant
Faction: The Sontrebren Crew
Rank: Boss
Force Sensitive: Yes

COMPOSITION AND APPEARANCE:
Blake has a dark skin, a pair of Brown eyes, and long black hair. He has a small growing beard and a moustache, what makes him look like a real badass. He wears leather silver jacket with a red shirt underneath. He often wears his blue pants with two red stripes going down the legs. He has black boots and two black gloves. He also wears a belt to which he can attach his blaster pistol as well as his vibrosword. On first sight, Blake looks like a thoughtless mercenary who kills without thought, but in fact, as explained in the personality, he is not very self-confident at all.

PERSONALITY:
Always trying to do the right thing and afraid of doing the wrong thing. He can’t stand to lose, and it often gets him pissed off and when he fails to protect anyone dear to him, he will give himself all the blame.

As a kid, Blake was quite friendly and he was always seeking joy and fun. However, as he grew older, he changed. He saw people dying and he could not take all that. All the depression changed him into a cold and hard man, though he will keep trying to do the right thing.

Although Blake seems like an aggressive man, he always wants to think over certain problems. He never wants to run into any situations unprepared, although it often happens to him.

However, Blake is not afraid of dying.

LIKES AND DISLIKES:
Blake loves Freedom. He feels great about him being free and he enjoys it. He likes traveling and exploring in the outer space.

He does not like long waiting. When something takes too long he has the feeling he has to do something. He cannot sit around and wait.

"I hate those ugly overgrown slugs!" - Blake speaking out his opinion about the Hutts.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:
Skilled in blaster usage and unbeatable in a game of poker. He has great talent for sword fighting though he does not use swords a lot. He also knows how to do martial arts combat, but that is a minor skill of him. Just like sword fighting, he does not do this often.
He can easily take on a small squad of soldiers, five units max, on his own, when using his gun and the right tactics. However, when the squad becomes to big he will be outmatched soon.

My Story

Twenty years ago…

Rude Awakenings
When I woke up, I found myself soaked. My head was pounding like some rancor had been sitting on my head for a couple of hours and my whole body hurt. As I regained conscious I managed to sit up and I looked at the havoc surrounding me. It was a terrible sight.

Piles of bodies, burning vehicles and a destroyed building. Blood mixed with the wet dirt on the ground. I was dirty and in pain.
Slowly I managed to stand up and I realized what had happened several hours ago. Me and my comrades were attack by a group of Alsakan soldiers while doing this scouting mission on Alsakan. It was damn dangerous but we were the special commandos, so we just followed our orders.
We went into hiding in one of the buildings there and used it as a secret base. I was the squad leader and we acted as Republic Spies. It was exiting, but lethal. Very, very lethal.
All of us, except for me, have found death in this mission, instead of success. Good thing was, however, that the Alsakans believed that I was dead too, so I could escape.

After praying for my fallen brothers I left the building. We all did not wear Republic Uniforms of course, for we were undercover, but I had to find new clothes anyway because mine were bloodied and torn.

I sneaked through some streets, trying not to be seen, and finally I found some clean clothes which were hanging out to dry. Lucky me they were just dried up when I came across them and I quickly changed my ugly clothes for new ones. Simple citizen clothing. Being the bastard I am, I hang my old ones back on the line and I ran faster than my legs could carry me away from the spot where I committed my little crime.

I then figured I needed to get the hell off this planet and back to the republic. But how?

Well, lemme tell ye how.

My nickname in the army was ‘the Gambler’ because I always won all card games and I won a lot of money. So I went to the first cantina I could find and I joined a game of poker.
They asked me for money to participate but instead I offered my blaster, which I had taken with me. Lucky me, instead of losing the blaster, I won a lot of money. I then rented a room and pokered even more, until I had enough money to buy a very small one-person vessel.

And so I managed to get off Alsakan.

Reporting Back
I arrived back at Coruscant and went back to HQ to report back. However, they all acted like they did not know me. I did not understand and then I got kicked out. I was about to walk away, in anger, when I suddenly heard a familiar voice. The voice of my commander.

“Jameson!” he shouted.

I turned around and greeted him, like a soldier would greet his commander. “Sir, yes sir!” I said.

“You’re declared dead!”

“What!?” I shouted in surprise and anger. “I’ve been what!?”

“Dead, Jameson! You’re a dead man!”

Then my commander turned around and just walked away, not even looking back at me. It meant I was expelled from the army and I was dead. At least, Leod Jameson was dead.
I still had a heck a lot money and I was on Coruscant, so I figured there were plenty options for me to choose from.

I went to a cantina and rented a room for a week and made some plans for myself. I rented the room under my cover name, which I used during my mission on Alsakan: Blake Zeth. From now on, I would use that name, since Leod Jameson had no meaning anymore.

Jameson had died. Zeth had born.

Thanks, commander.

***** you.

The Gambler
I was out of work. I had to do something. It was then when I remember my talent: Gambling. Why didn’t I make Gambling my new profession? I went downstairs and gambled. I gambled all day and won a lot. It’s true I sometimes lost some money, but I often won games and that’s how I built a great reputation. I gained allies, friends and a lot enemies and rivals. My life became messy and restless, but entertaining.

I ended up in several barfights as well. I punched a lot of skulls and kicked a lot of nuts. It also occurred sometimes that I had to draw my blaster, and shoot others. Because this usually took place in the lower city, the authorities did not bother to come stop certain fights. And so I got into the life of a thug and I liked it.

Mercenary Business
People knew my gun skills and one day a verpine man spoke to me. He wanted to hire me for some kind of job. It was about taking out some of his enemies and I agreed. I always could use some extra pocket money, and this verpine guy paid well for wiping out some thugs. He gave me the location, I went there, guns blazing, job done, returned to collect my reward.

It is so that I entered mercenary business. It paid well and it was exciting, in some way. Next to being a professional gambler, I was a merc and I made sure everyone knew. I got hired more and built even a better reputation. I got well known in the lower city of Coruscant and people began to fear me. I liked that.

Magic and Lasers
On a certain mission I was to take out some guy who had been killing several citizens. Odd thing was that these bodies had unusual wounds. Burnt holes. It was very odd. It could not be possibly done by blaster bolts or bullets.

I found our rather quickly what it was when I came across this killer. He casted a wave of lightning from his hand at me and I could barely dodge it. My heart was pounding and I wondered what kind of magic that was. I knew about Jedi and the Force, but such a power like this I had never seen before.
Out of self-defense I drew my blaster and began firing a rain of bolts at him, but he ignited a lightsaber in the blink of an eye and deflected my bolts. Then, suddenly, I could not breathe and some strange power lifted me up from the ground.

“Wh… what is this?” I managed to say.

“This, my friend. Is the DARK SIDE!” the Force-User shouted and he threw me against a stone wall behind me. My back hurt and my heart was pounding. I quickly aimed my blaster out of reflex but then quickly lowered it again, as I figured blaster bolts had no effect on this man. He would only block off the bolts with his lightsaber. I was outmatched.

Then suddenly a rock hit his head from above and by surprise he dropped his lightsaber. Without concerning about the rock I quickly aimed my gun and loaded his body with bolts. He died and fell to the ground.

I then ran over to his body and kneeled beside it. Then I looked up at the sky and saw a figure on top of the building. It shouted my name and I recognized the voice. It was Ton, the tynnan. He was a friend of mine who wandered through the streets. I had met him many times.

He climbed down via a pipe and said: “Hello, Blake. You ok?”

“I guess.” I said. “Thank you, Ton. Without you I would be dead by now.”

I then grabbed the lightsaber from the ground and looked at it. I was intrigued. I decided to take it with me, as a proof I had really killed this… dark jedi.

Capo
Sometime later I joined the Sontrebren Crew. I immediately became a Capo in the faction and I had to form my own subcrew: Black Jack. It suits my nickname: The Gambler.
As Capo it was my task to undertake missions for Govon the boss with my crew. I would lead my crew through the mission.

I completed many missions and I received more and more money as reward. It was a good deal, letting my guns scream and letting my hands grab the credits as reward. Yeah, a very good deal.

I felt very good within this faction as a Capo and things were only getting better, until, a few years later Govon passed away due to his sickness. We all had guessed Govon was sick, but we did not know how critical it was. Apparently it was life taking. His wife Kelly passed away too, and his son took over the lead…

Destiny
I always believed in destiny and probably it was destined that Govon would die. It is a shame our great leader is gone, I hope is son will do good.
Now it’s twenty years later and our faction is still alive. We’re working hard to become the biggest criminal organization of the galaxy, and the galaxy’s most feared and we’ve come a long way since Govon founded the organization twenty years ago.

I wonder… what ugliness lies ahead.

But for now… I’m going for a drink. You coming?

Anyway, it was nice to meet you! See ya around!

NOTE: The rest of the story will be continued in Blake's journal (What basically summarizes the RPs Blake was in).

~The Journal Of Blake Zeth~

ALSAKAN CRISIS:

ENTRY 24: "Dust To Dust"
Onderon… Yeah right…

I was hired to get on a ship and guard some medicine along with a few other mercs. I was in command of the small squad. We had to ensure the safety of the medicine and that it got to the people who ordered it without any trouble.

Alas, a problem with the engines occurred and we were forced to make an emergency landing in a valley, due north from the village.

On a clear night, Suu Ranius, one of my comrades, took the medicine and came to me, telling me he was done with waiting around. He told me he wanted some action and that those villager couldn’t wait much longer. I agreed but I told him that he’d better stay in the camp. It was too dangerous to go out at night, alone. Being the bastard Suu always was, he left the camp and I had to go after him. However, poor Suu got killed by a Boma and I could kill off the creature just before he would kill me. Just before Suu died he apologized. I dug his grave with my bare hands and retrieved the medicine.

Later a young Twi’lek girl, whose name I later found out was Ashes, suddenly appeared and if it wasn’t for her, I would not have checked out the burning woods up ahead. I saved a Zabrak lady by the name of Evie from a certain death. As we headed back for my camp, another woman, in armor, appeared. She tagged along.

The next day we left first thing in the morning, we were heading for the village. We were on our way when we suddenly were attacked by Drexls. We fought for a lives and just when it seemed we were all gonna die, some bounty hunters showed up with their ship and they saved us.

With the ship, we travelled to the village and there Evie and Ashes visited Scroll, the guy who had ordered the medicine. I don’t know what happened in that building, but apparently Scroll and Evie didn’t agree as Evie came out of the building, running, followed by projectiles and angry armed men. We managed to get back into the ship and Ares killed Scroll.

Damn it, we made it!
NOTE: Never take on certain missions again. Those villagers are nuts!!!

ENTRY 25: "Games"
I made a stop at a faraway space station somewhere in the outer rim. I was on my way to new adventures when I had to stop to buy new supplies and to rest a bit. I stayed there for a couple of days and I visited a cantina. It appeared that Gorrbag the Hutt was there with his henchmen. One of them was Govon Sontrebren.

Anyway, I was there and I played some pazaak with a twi'lek guy. However, he accused me of cheating and then punched me in the face. I answered his punch by beating him down, but then both he and I were thrown out of the cantina. Outside he tore the twi'lek up and then went back inside to retrieve my creds which were still in there. There I had some troubles with the guards and even Sontrebren himself came back. Suddenly one of the patrons, a zabrak dude, stood up for me and a huge barfight broke out. Patrons vs guards. Finally I just left the cantina, to go somewhere else.

What a mess.

ENTRY 26: "The Meeting" (Sontrebren Crew)
We met in an old building and discussed missions and objectives. In the end the authorities, who somehow found out where we were meeting, paid us a visit and Knot and Pok stayed behind to cover our escape. I got away unharmed.

Also, it seems that the Boss, Govon Sontrebren, is sick. I wonder if it's critical, I hope not. We'll see what happens...

ENTRY 27: "The Republic Fighter" (Sontrebren Crew)
Govon, the boss, wanted us to fetch a republic fighter ship. It was an easy task.
We met up in my apartment on Coruscant, and Govon himself paid us a visit to give us a briefing. He told us what we had to do and we did it.

A few days later we, dressed in the uniforms Knot had arranged for us, boarded the Flagship. We made our way to the Hangar Bay within the Flagship unnoticed and we were about to board the Fighter. However, we were stopped by a mechanic. Azazel killed the mechanic with one of his knives and I shot all the other mechanics before they could sound alarm. We quickly boarded the Fighter Ship and the hangar doors went open, the guys in the control did not take notice of what was going on. They contacted me via the comlink system aboard the Fighter and I said: “See ya around, ****ers!”
I broke communication and I flew us out of the Flagship and a few minutes later we jumped to hyperspace.

A few days later I returned to Govon’s quarters to tell him the good news. He rewarded us with 3000 credits each.

Nice.

THE HUTT WAR:

NOTE: Got a new Journal.

ENTRY 1: "The Rivals" (Sontrebren Crew)
And yet another job. But this time something different then we had done in the past.

Our objectives were to kill off a Hutt and take over his compound on Tatooine. Why? He’s messing with our spice. Don’t touch our spice.
With all his forces off-world it almost seems too easy. Oh hell yeah I’m gonna let my guns scream!

That slug is mine.

The boss, Eris Sontrebren, came in and he told me, to my surprise, that he wanted to come along. I did not mind, I got to kill the Hutt anyway.

A few minutes later Azazel and Torlan came in as well and we waited for Knot to show up, but he never came. I wonder what’s going on and what’s keeping him.

Anyway, we continued to Tatooine and first we dropped off Torlan and Azazel, who would distract most of the guards, while Eris and were going through the backentrance and sneak up that slug from behind. Of course we had some resistance, but we killed them all easily. We headed on towards the throne room and encountered that slug. After some dull chitchat we killed him, took back our spice, and headed back to the hideout on Coruscant.
Mission accomplished.

ENTRY 2: "The Death of Eris and Malkav" (Sontrebren Crew)
Now what. The leaders go out on a mission or whatever they were doing, and then they die! What the ****?
The faction is now left without leaders, I guess me or Poknor has take up the lead. One of us becomes a leader and the other underboss. I see a debate coming soon, about who becomes the boss and who the underboss.
Oh well, what the hell.
Things are getting really interesting...

ENTRY 3: “The Future of the Sontrebren Crew” (Sontrebren Crew)
Pok and I have discussed things before attending the meeting, and we figured out that I will become the new boss and Pok will be the new underboss.

As I arrived in the meeting hall, I was the first. Some minutes later everybody was in and we started the meeting. I announced I am the new boss and Pok’s the new underboss and nobody seemed to have a problem with it. Especially not after I made clear that respect and loyalty goes above everything.

Azazel then suggested about the spice trade, that we all had to keep an eye on it and raise security. That was very good thinking, I knew the sniper had brains. So I ordered everyone to keep an eye on the trade.
Then Torlan came with the offer about weapons delivery. He could deliver ten crates of slugthrowers and blasters. Seems like a good deal to me. So I put the responsibility of the weapons shipment in Torlan´s hands.
New Capos were named soon after: Teo and Torlan. We also discussed plans to make a deal with Phoenix Corporation.

ENTRY 4: “Another Irresistible Offer” (Sontrebren Crew)
Coming soon.
