The Doctor had been wandering for a long time now, almost a year, ever since just after Ilum when the Jedi cast her out. She had done a lot of things, met a lot of new friends, helped out the Warlords, slaughtered a slave market, found an apprentice, spent a lot of time on Serenno learning how to be an exile, she got run through...twice. Now though, all of that felt inconsequential, like the last year didn't even matter, because now...now she didn't feel so lost now. She had caught a transmission a while back, just white noise, but working with a slicer for a job on Nar Shadda revealed to her that it was more than that. Behind the white noise lay a message, and it was from someone her heart had yearned to see for 16 years.
It was her Brother...
Her Blood Brother, not in the Exile sense. Raz, her big brother by about 90 years, had reached out his baby sister wanting to see her again. Of course, that signal came with a lot of implications, the most prevalent being that he was no longer with the Jedi considering it came a few months after she was forced out. She couldn't find anything on his activities since 2 years ago, and that sudden void in the data made her uneasy, she hated not knowing things, especially where family was concerned. It wasn't just unease though, it was paranoia, what if the Jedi had sent this signal? What if it was a rival who wanted her dead? What if he was dead?? Her mind raced with ideas and theories, driving her crazy with thoughts that all ended in her death or his...but at the end of the day, she had to see him if there was a chance.
She had arrived at the place she was beckoned to, a Penthouse Apartment on Coruscant's overcity. She didn't like it up here, far too sterile, all the senators walking around chatting about politics and their stations, the soulless architecture, the lack of nature, it was all so stuffy and she hated it. The doorman easily let her past with a simple mind trick, and as she made her way toward the door, she could sense her unease growing. The corridor seemed to stretch out into forever, her chest tightening at the thought of seeing him again. The last time she had heard anything, he had joined the Exiles too, but that was just hearsay, he might still be a jedi or, at least, on their side and try to arrest or even kill her. Her skin was draining to white as she took each step, that pit in her stomach trying to weigh her down as paranoia and overwhelming desire screamed into her mind to knock, to run away, to break it down, anything and everything she could think of.
In the end though, she knew this was only going one way. She held up her hand, balled it into a fist, and began to knock. On the third knock, her hand stayed on the door, slowly uncurling and coming to rest on it, all while Aleera's defenses stared to crumble, her mouth only able to form one simple word, coming from the mouth of a small child.
"Raz...?"
