Karys took out a syringe and began mixing a concoction the way he’d watched Azar do it a few times. He took his time, ensuring the mixture was balanced and even across all parts. He lowered the syringe and sucked the mixture up through the needle. Karys thumped the side of the syringe a few times and made sure there was no air bubbles in it before approaching the human.

What’s your name?” He asked disarmingly.

Did she just kill that guy?!” The human replied, eyes glued to the Trandoshan.

That doesn’t matter, look at me.” Karys instructed calmly. “What’s your name?

The human glanced to Karys and then the syringe in his hand. He would pin his back agains the wall, unwilling to get closer to Karys. Fear was written on his face and in his eyes.

G-G-George…

Sucks to be you George.

Karys’ fist would collide with George’s face a moment later. George would slump to the floor an unconscious mess. And Karys would hook him up to the monitors before injecting him with the alchemical concoction.

George’s body was still for a moment. Then it convulsed for a few seconds before falling still once more. Despite the display, George’s vitals didn’t dip, he remained stable. Karys’ eyes grew wide for a moment, had he just done alchemy? He glanced to Cyu with a wry grin on his lips.

1-0” He reported teasingly.

Caerllion watched with frustration while their first subject died. Nonetheless, the Annfyn wrote down the combination and the effects that it had over the Twi’lek. Even if they weren’t being able to induce the hive mind effect, these potions could still be used as lethal poison. These were still useful for the Sith Order when they needed to assassinate someone.

With the Twi’lek dead, Caerllion approached one of the humans. Like the rest, they were strapped to the tables with machines that allowed them to be monitored. He prepared a concoction, before using a syringe to inject it on them. For some seconds, the man seemed to be fine, but he soon started to shake violently and his heart rate went mad. Shortly after, it stopped.

Another failure.

With a sigh, the Annfyn turned to look at Kreia. “Yes. You can do it.” he said, before picking the datapad to write down this effect too. It seemed to have been some type of massive heart attack. A potion with such effects could also be useful.

It was fortunate that they'd had the foresight to round up more than one subject, saving the hassle of having to go back out and round up another batch. The knowledge that they'd gained even from the failure only made success that much more likely, as they pressed forward on the frontiers of scientific advancement.

Noting which combination had failed, carefully avoiding repeating the same mixture and comparing the details provided with the others to confirm which of the remaining mixtures would be successful, rather than kill a second subject. After taking pristine care and preparation, Cyutadakyr moved forward to begin the next trial.

Picking the Twi'lek this time, the pureblood stabbed the needle into its arm with curiosity. The unconscious being lay still as the concoction worked, and while the vitals spiked temporarily, ultimately they would stabilise and their patient continued to stay resting.

Turning to Karys with an achieved smile, "1-1." Remarking excitedly. If they could complete the last test successfully, they could consider the mission a success and race back to report their findings before the other two Sith could. Cyu could only imagine the look on Caerllion's face if they managed to win.

Was it any surprise that this one failed as well? Kreia stood there, frustrated as the male twi'lek held the same reaction that the female had. The Twi'lek's brain was obviously incapable of higher service, at least that was her assumption as the male died as well.

Kreia clucked her tongue in annoyance before getting another idea. Placing the syringe in the proper disposal, she moved to get not only another syringe, but the Echani would rummage around inside of another drawer until she came back with a laser scalpel. "I think we may have more success injecting it directly into the brain, perhaps. At least, the blood stream wasn't working with the Twi'leks," she said, obviously more than a little frustrated, but also had a hint of glee at the prospect of diving hands first into a brain. "With your permission, Champion?"

1-1, the tiny competition between them was neck and neck. Karys grinned as he grabbed a mixture of concoctions. One tincture had a faint blue glow, the other was a sickly green slime, and yet another seemed like a purple gel. Karys had no idea what they actually were but mixed them together with a diluting agent nonetheless. His confidence couldn’t be overridden as he mixed in genetic material of the three species, plus raw sampling of Killik. The mixtures fizzled and popped as Karys ground and mixed everything together into a noxious bile.

Karys approached the Trandoshan who had bitten him earlier. His crimson eyes twisted to gold as his shoulder still ached from the pain. He forced the creature’s mouth open and poured his mix down its gullet. The Trandoshan’s eyes popped open as Karys clamped its mouth shut. There was a muffed attempt to scream before Karys started punching.

Fucking swallow you oversized scaly bastard!” He cursed between each blow.

Eventually the Trandoshan wasn’t given much a choice and there was an audible gulp. Karys glanced over to Cyu and smirked. It wouldn’t take long for the Trandoshan to begin shuddering and convulsing. However, eventually it settled back down into stillness.

Now they only had to wait.

<You want me to cook us something in the meantime? Or dispose of the others?> Karys asked as he glanced around the kitchen. He’d sigh at the realization of what Cyu was likely to say. <Dispose of the others, right?> He questioned.

———————

Karys would work hard to get rid of the other subjects. They couldn’t be left alive of course and this was Nar Shadda, no one would question a few extra bodies found in dumpsters. When Karys returned from his outing, the subjects would be awake. Oddly enough they all identified as a human male named George. Karys glanced over to Cyu and smirked.

2-1” He teased. <Also, 1-0. How do we celebrate?> He asked with a smirk on his face as he moved to the cockpit of his ship to take off.

They had results to present to Azar on Umbara. Karys was giddy to show him.

Caerllion watched with disappointment as their last Twi’lek. Another one that wasn’t capable of resisting the effects of the potions. He took note of the effects that the substances had on their guinea pig. Another possible poison, this one would be mortal to individuals of this species.

With their death, Caerllion turned to the last human that they had. He prepared the concoction, by mixing some different potions and injected it in the man. The Annfyn watched while their body shook violently and the heart rate went mad. He was already expecting another failure, but the convulsions stopped abruptly and the heart went back to normal.

He was stable.

The potion worked.

Finally a success!” the Annfyn said happily, while writing up what had happened. He turned to look at Kreia. “I think that you can experiment with the two Trandoshans. We are already late and should finish it at once. We still need to discard these bodies.

Going unnoticed with dumping bodies: 18
1st Trandoshan: 17
2nd Trandoshan: 13

It wasn't like Kreia needed to be told directly what to do. As soon as the Champion had given them objectives, she obeyed. She went to the Twi'lek's first and loaded them on a hoverbed from medical lab. It was Nar Shadaa, and dumping bodies in alleyways often went unnoticed. People kept their heads down. They didn't want to be next. Even if Kreia was small, her eerie white eyes and firm glance warded people away.

She made haste to get back to the ship after getting rid of the bodies and moved to experiment on the trandoshans. There were a lot of different controlling factors in this one, but Kreia still stood firm in injecting the concoction directly into the brains. She used a longer syringe this time and after the first Trandoshan was dosed, she sat back and waited. This one excelled, barely a twitch on the heart monitor that was irregular before leveling back out. This boosted her eagerness to get to the second one, and she rushed too fast. The heart monitor moved erratically, and for a moment, she thought she had killed another subject before it too levelled out. Three out of 5. That wasn't bad at all.

"Success, Champion," she grinned up at him, delighted that they had gone so well. She rather liked this champion. He was manipulative and calm, the deception in him was something she truly wanted to learn. Perhaps she could continue to travel with him. "I think Champion Azar will be happy as well."

Caerllion watched the Trandoshans answer positively to the potions. Finally they were having more successes. He immediately wrote the information about the concoction that they used. “Excellent! Now we are finished here.” he said to Kreia, before turning to look at their failed attempts.

“We need to dump these people somewhere.” it wasn’t going to be a problem. The people of Nar Shaddaa would not mind finding some dead people. It happened basically everyday. The survivors would also not remember what happened today. The Annfyn would erase their memories, but would track them for future uses.

Good job, Acolyte. You proved to be very smart in bringing these two here.” he said while gesturing to the dead Twi’leks. “We are going to start your training soon.” the Annfyn would leave Kreia to think about the fact that he had taken her as his apprentice. A second one besides Trodai.

It would be interesting.
