Back to the main topic at hand, it sounds like no fellow Californians here are helping save water, judging from posts.

The ways individuals can "help" are largely superficial. They're a way for liberal-minded people to pat themselves on the backs. It's like the idea that replacing incandescent lightbulbs with florescent lightbulbs is a helpful solution for combating climate change.

There needs to be systemic changes in California, particularly with how California is sucking the western states dry, generally in favor of agribusiness in the Central Valley. Government-mandated rationing is important as well. Governor Brown's order only goes so far, though. Big Oil, for example, is exempted from the order, despite being one of the biggest users of water.

This is still going on?

For the love of god Phil. Not showering is gross. The end of days hasn't arrived yet, so until then at least have the decency to clean yourself when there is the opportunity to. If you don't want to use water then you should at least lysol wipe your body.

I think the people in the agriculture business, namely the farmers who grow all the food in the valley that goes towards all the rest of the state and country should have first first dibs on it. Believe me when I say I'm trying to word that in a much better way. But cutting down on water every where else is only temporary. Instead of waiting on rain, a more permanent solution needs to be planned that is neither retarded or bankrupt worthy, not to mention that would also not drain more states. I think that is why Oregon people don't like us Californians.

We are discussing the drought, not my shower routine. Nothing on this website is going to change that. So...
