Cheal Gaiax
History
Cheal Gaiax is a Gank of unknown age, who simply keeps most personal information to himself. His early life is all but a mystery to those but him, but honestly there is not much to say. Ganks tend to follow a similar life: go around, be hired by anyone who would need a killer, and go kill whoever they want dead. That's the path he took throughout his life so far and he probably won't deviate too much from the mold in that regard. The major exception that sets him apart from the typical Gank mold is his speech pattern: he actually can no longer speak. One of his previous employers was not fully satisfied with their experience so, to prove a point, they had his vocal cords surgically severed and his lips removed which left him disfigured. This rendered him a complete mute as even whistles were beyond him. He had to take an entire year to recover from this incident, instead of replacing his lips and vocal cords he spent his time learning many different forms of nonverbal communication before he could even return to the job he enjoyed.
As his employment continued so did his augmentation of his body, as was Gank tradition. He slowly began to strip away the meat and bone from his form, replacing them with metal and wire. He would incorporate the armor he wore into the augmentation, giving these pieces a level of protection he already had as well as making them fit his frame perfectly. After a while all that really remained was his facial region, which was regularly covered by a mouth plate and a lowering visor.
Skills and Traits
Cheal has quite some time to hone his skills for being a hired gun, being taught practically from birth how to kill and maim and capture targets. He learned how to sneak rather well, which has led to his more stealth based combat style. As it would be clear from his profession, weapons are so natural to him they are like an extension of his own body. Repeaters, slug throwers, blades, blasters, explosives, clubs, and many more can all be picked up and used by Cheal as if he had been born with them in his hands. He is also rather adept at piloting, especially when it comes to dog fighting. Though it is not his primary form of mission he has indeed gone out and taken contracts that involve him piloting rather than sneaking around.
Due to his mutilation, Cheal had to learn how to communicate without sounds. He had learned several styles of battle cant, mostly ones involving hand and body motions, as well as Galactic Basic Sign Language. He also learned how to chatter his teeth similar to morse code for moments in his ship where he needs to speak with another being while not being able to type. This goes to show many beings that Cheal isn't as dense as most mercenaries are, as he is actually quite intelligent. While certainly not a genius he is at least a cunning fox. Observant, calculating, and effective are what best describe the Gank. He does not waste anything: time, energy, or words. He cuts anything inefficient in a task and keeps the effectiveness as high as he can, both in combat and outside of it. Even with that he tries to cut the amount of time he is not on a job as short as he could, because while many see their job as not much more than work Cheal genuinely enjoys his to keep him active and test his skills.
