Byron wiped his head, watching the vehicle Tiamat threw make a speeder sized whole in the walls of both warehouses. Numerous thugs had been knocked over like a bowling pins. Cries of pain and groans emanated from the downed men and women under the collector's payroll. Some of them were worse off since an entire speeder had collided with them. Even from this distance, Byron could see some blood pooling beside some of them. They would each be hospitalized extensively and probably have injuries for the rest of their lives.

Byron did not dawdle or reply except with a deep sigh at first. Pulling any The way ahead was clear and any door making was unnecessary at this point. "Well come on then..." He said and waved her to follow him. "...lets see if you broke what we're here for." Dust would be settling by the time the Knight arrived at the opening and he stepped in.

The inside of the collector's warehouse was partially dominated by a several tarped over vehicles. Shelves and box, containers of different sizes and shapes filled the area. A few had been knocked down and crushed from the telekinetic throw of the redhead. The sound of the repulsor engines began to wind down off to the side through the opened walls.

Danger rose to Byron's mind and he knew when he was being targeted. Raising his palm, the blaster bolts that would have hit him in the torso flashed into nothing inside the palm of his hand. The second blaster bolt was also stopped in a similar manner though Byron gave a little wince in response. Tutaminis was not a technique he used extensively, preferring to use the gauntlets on either hand. The blaster bolt left a slight tingle through the palm of his hand that traveled half up his arm. Byron looked towards the blaster's source and pull the entire individual towards him.

Another blaster bolt went off as they were being dragged through the air towards the Knight and off balance. They appeared to be the last security measure inside the warehouse. Byron released his hold on the man as he came within striking distance. He kicked him in between the legs enough to double over and then vomit. The smuggler lost his grip on the blaster pistol in his hand and as he dropped so too did his weapon fall. Byron used the next step to crush the blaster under his boot enough to make in inoperable.

Byron looked towards the redhead to see if she was making her way inside. "We should maybe look for an inventory list or a datapad. Might help finding things easier." He said even as he began casually striding deeper into the warehouse. His mind returned to the calm of before. The fight was over for the security unless they had combat droids. He doubted the smuggler would be that well off. But the more he went inside the more he was seeing contraband and black market items. His eyes looked around as well and his senses widened. If there was something that had the essence of the Force he could possibly find it. Kyber crystals were something he had found before but he stopped in front of a three foot wide worshyr wood chest with engravings. The man placed a hand on top of the chest, trying to tell what may have been found.

He seemed to take it well, the long sigh was unmistakable, but Tiamat stood silently, her eyes drifting to her work of pain and blood. Byron moved ahead, not wasting any time to find what he came to take and as he entered the speeder-sized door that was created by her handiwork. She looked down a the crippled and unmoving bodies and lightly skipped along, hopping over debris and lightly stepping down into the warehouse. Unlike Byron, she seemed to be more interested in everything but what they came to find. She pulled a tarp off one of the speeders and looked upon the classic with awe.

Then she took to the shelves, pulling down odd pieces of stone, opening boxes and removing some of the jewelry as she followed Byron further inside until he paused. Several bolts came forth, but he stopped each one without using his saber and pulled his attacker to him. When Byron would look to see if Tiamat had been following, she appeared to have found a treasure chest of goodies. Her arms were covered with extravagant bracers and her fingers each had an opal ring of various designs while holding a scepter. Around her neck she had an overt emerald necklace and wore matching earrings while on top of her head, she wore a crown to match.

"Yeah, then erase the inventory so they don't know what you were looking for." she agreed following the Jedi, but paused to pull the security card from the guard. Catching up again, it seemed he may not have needed a inventory list as he stopped in front of the box. She could feel the Force radiate from it, rejecting her presence as it called for Byron. He brow narrowed in annoyance. "Its like a leech."

Byron felt the grain of the wood through the lacquered finish. The tree the wood used to belong to, the coldness within its contents, all of it came to the man's mind as he opened himself to the Force. The Knights eyes were closed despite being in the presence of a Sith. The dark side's presence loomed behind him. But that was the case regardless of how much distance he had from the redhead.

The knight had not slowed down or cared for the injuries of those he stepped over to enter the warehouse. If this surprised the Sith, she did not give him any signs of it. But the muscular Knight had not done it for her. He heard Lyra in the warehouse enjoying herself and looked over. "Good idea." He said, noting her pull the security badge. The Light side of the Force that had radiated off the chest had attracted the Knight immediately but he knew there were other things here he was looking for.

Without waiting any more, opening up the engraved wooden container he saw a pair of gauntlets. They appeared to have runes imbedded in them. The matching relics were of a time long ago. His brow furrowed and the armored attired in the chest sat there like the inanimate objects they were.

The proximity to the chest bothered Lyra. He knew that was not who she thought of herself. She had changed and now felt uneasy so close to the artifacts within. "I was looking for these on Spintir when you found me." He replied, thinking back to his time at the Dawn Temple.

Byron's tone was deep and tired as he spoke. "Why do we do this?" He asked suddenly, changing subjects and took a step away from the open chest. It was such a broad question.

What can I do?

----------------------- Why do the Sith and Jedi fight?

Why must I be a part of it?
----------------------- Why?!

----------------------- Why can't I save you?

Why don't I have the answers?

----------------------- How can I stop?

Why can't I stop this?
----------------------- Why can't I help more?

So many questions that whirled around in the man's head but only one of them voiced in the moment. The two gauntlets would stay within the confines of the chest for now. Byron had a feeling he knew what they were. Of course they could be replicas but the sense he was getting from them gave him confidence that he was staring at the gauntlets of spring and autumn. The Knight did not touch them though. Instead he closed the box and carried it over to the classy speeder that had been revealed. A serious expression on his face softened only slightly as he looked the the jewelry clad redhead.

Tia neared closer, standing beside Byron as he opened the chest. Inside, it was not what the redhead expected as she gazed upon the bracers. She looked at the artifact and then back to Byron, frowning slightly when he mentioned he had been looking for them when they crossed paths on Spintir. His mind seemed to be lost in thought as he muttered something about why did they keep doing this. Her brow narrowed as she looked back down at the bracers, remaining silent, uncertain of the context behind it. He stepped away from the chest, but Tia stayed neared it until Byron decided to take it.

Decisively, he closed the chest and started to carry it to one of the speeders. The redhead was still confused as she stood quietly, watching him as she rested the head of the scepter on her shoulder. He turned to look back at her, his gaze softening and Tia tilted her head, trying to figure out what was going on in his mind without flat out entering it. Instead she gave him a genuine smile and quickly joined him, but paused when she reached his side.

She took his hand and placed it on her cheek, holding him there for just a pause in the moment before she went to get into the speeder. His warm touch was welcoming, but she didn't keep it for long, sensing a danger that lurked just out of reach for the two warehouse thieves.

Seeing the young woman's smile made him feel a little more at ease. His gaze dropped to her hand taking his and placing it on her cheek. Byron felt her soft unblemished skin against his callused hand. He let out a breath, relaxing his shoulders and dropping them slightly in the first non-violent human contact he had had in ages. His eyes closed, savoring the heartfelt moment and lamenting its passing, already knowing it was temporary.

In that moment Byron forgot about everything else. The man just wanted to be there for her, for the individual that she was. This act at least gave him hope that she knew that. That was enough. Whether it was intentional or not, the close proximity perhaps and his own openness, he wordlessly convey how he felt. I'll never lie to you. I'll never abandon you. I'll always be there for you.

When his eyes open, Tia had a look on her face telling him she had sensed a threat. The bearded Knight turned his head, scanning and reaching out to try and pinpoint its source. His body pivoted, facing the Sith Lord more but searching for other threats. Instinctively he moved to shield her from what happened next. But she stepped away and moved to get into the opulent speeder. Leaving the scene was the best option.

Byron pulled the inventory list from a datapad in the following moments, following his redheaded associate's direction from earlier. A few items popped on the list. He did not move from standing near the trunk as three smaller boxes descended from separate shelves. Each was no larger than a small cooler or large lunch box and lacked markings. Kyber crystals, the broken pieces of a 'jedi puzzle', and several trophy lightsabers respectively. There was more than Byron wanted to do here. But more importantly, the Jedi sentinel now had significantly more information on the smuggling ring.

The lid to the trunk closed and he got into the speeder's driver seat. The vehicle started up and gave them an idea of how much power the vehicle had. It was more than just a pretty speeder. Bryon cocked an eyebrow and the hints of a smile came to his face just from that. "Always wanted to drive one of these." Not holding back on the accelerator, the speeder shot out of the hole the other thrown vehicle had made in the wall. Out on the street the K-4 airspeeder climbed into the air just as two identically marked transports pulled up. There was no chance they were going to catch up to the sport speeder and would have been bad if they had stayed. Some of the figures stepped out of their vehicles and clearly watched the tail lights of the speeder, frustrated at missing the trespassers.
