"We held our iron to the flames once, held our enemies to them, now look at us. We are lost in the stars, stuck on an asteroid, barely surviving...
Forge us a new future, my daughter. Light the fires. Be the woman, the Mandalorian, you were born to be!"
—Evla Praxor

OVERVIEW

Clan Praxor is a Mandalorian clan whose domain is presently on Concord Dawn. However, the family was founded on the planet Mandalore years before the Great Purge under the Galactic Empire.

Historically one of the smaller clans, the Praxors nonetheless held strong claim over their territory and were once more powerful and numerous than they are today, with only seven members currently accounted for.

While capable warriors, the Praxors pride themselves primarily on their crafting capabilities, especially as far as carrying their own arms and armor into battle goes. Time ago, their craftsmanship helped build a minor reputation among other clans seeking out their expertise, especially those with less skilled armorers.

In the present period, Clan Praxor is considered a traitor clan by the mainstream Mandalorians as an overall faction. This status is the result of Casany's abandonment of the Mand'alor upon his alliance with the Sith Empire and attempted murder of Adenn Rytt. In line with this, the Praxors are preparing for war with the Sith and, if need be, civil war with their fellow Mandalorians.

Clan Praxor's sigil is a gold sun on a field of red, the colors represented on their armor. Their words are "Forged In Fire" while their unofficial motto is "Hammer and anvil". Their seat is Masti, a fortress on Concord Dawn shared by other clans of the Orar'da'yadr. Their Alor is Casany Praxor.

HISTORY

Founded on Mandalore in the days of old, the Praxors were a small clan with a penchant for craftsmanship. Though boasting their own personal prowess for battle, Clan Praxor forged its identity with the beating of iron and the burning of fire in the forge that made their arms and armor.

This gave way to their official clan motto: "Forged In Fire", referring to their specializing as smiths who yet wield their own weapons. Further, their unofficial motto, "Hammer and anvil", came about as a shared expression among their own. It is often used in the manner of a salute, or as a Jedi might express "May the Force be with you".

The Praxors were never a major clan, their numbers small and specifically so. They did not seek greater conquest for themselves as much as for the Mandalorians overall, content with the part they played among their people.

Their priority was to provide the means for themselves as much as others, creating healthy relationships with other clans, some of whom sought the Praxors out for their abilities.

Come the Great Purge, Clan Praxor was forced into hiding like others of their people, having resettled the abandoned asteroid station of Kad-Stor in the Outer Rim.

Here, they survived through secrecy, running covert operations amid supply runs and gathering intelligence. For a people wanted dead, that sometimes meant leaving the helmet and the armor behind while maintaining the Mandalorian identity in the flesh and bone.

Some would scoff at such a practice, but in the Praxors’ eyes it wasn’t the armor that made the Mandalorian but the Mandalorian that made the armor. As smiths, they believed they had the right to judge such a notion. Living in solitude on Kad-Stor, the Praxors continued to perfect the art of smithing and, with little else to do, practiced other arts.

They honed their combat skills, raised painters and poets, taught song and dance, and preserved their history in murals across the walls and ceilings of their stronghold. They were Mandalorians and had no desire to become anything less or anything else.

With the Empire’s demise, a new foe fell upon Clan Praxor and their new home of Kad-Stor, and this enemy was no less relentless or ruthless. With superior firepower and numbers, the opponents wiped out most of the Praxors, with the survivors escaping on the freighter the Lost Forge.

It was on this ship that they found their new home. Led by Alor Evla Praxor, having lost her husband in the battle of Kad-Stor, the clan hovered beneath the stars then more than ever before.

Evla had concluded that the family would not survive if they followed the old ways as one. Instead, Evla had taken the Lost Forge to the shadows between the stars, continuing to hide like other Mandalorians, whilst Casany had emerged from the dark.

She once served as the Clan’s armorer, as much as their drummer, but upon leaving the Forge she went on the offensive as a warrior. Her task was to learn of the galaxy, keep up with current affairs, keep her family informed and cared for, and she did so by becoming a bounty hunter.

Eventually, such a life took its toll, troubled the heart, turned strength into cruelty, and her purpose came to lose meaning as much as her faith in the future of her people.

In time, Casany discovered the Orar’da’yadr, a coalition of Mandalorian clans, and Clan Praxor joined their fold under Casany as their new alor after Evla fell sick. They moved headquarters to the fortress of Masti on Concord Dawn, where other Coalition clans resided, and where Evla Praxor remains until she rests.

However, as time passed, so did the distance between Srucayr of the Orar’da’yadr and Casany of Praxor. Attempts were made to unite more Mandalorians, House Solus among them, but rifts between them were raised and Casany found herself drifting once more.

Recently, while Srucayr stepped away into the distance, Clan Praxor still resides on Concord Dawn, in Coalition territory, though their place remains uncertain. Yet, with the emergence of a Mandalorian faction with its new Mand’alor, allied with the Sith, Clan Praxor’s alor can no longer afford to idle.

She had used her bounty hunting and mercenary work as a means to provide for her family and fund the Coalition’s cause, but now the cost is greater.

The Mandalorians following the Sith are traitors in her eyes, for as long as they do, while the Mand'alor and a few others ever will be given that they shot down Casany's vod.

Now Clan Praxor has helped forge the True Mandalorians, those who their counterparts in turn call traitors for not following the Mand’alor who follows the dar'jetii, but such were the ways of the Mandalorians.

Ultimately, Clan Praxor is preparing for war with the Sith Empire, and its alor sincerely hopes those other Mandalorians won't get in the way. Civil war, however, may be inevitable. Time will tell.

INTENT

To provide a reference page of Clan Praxor, primarily for personal use but inherently public use too as far as is feasible. This is namely 'lore for lore's sake', not designed as an 'organization asset' page, but may evolve into the latter as time and roleplay go on and as this sheet gets updated.
