Lane sat in the middle of the training grounds cross-legged. He awaited the pressence of his new student. This one was a female. She could use the force and a lightsaber, yet never once belonged to the Jedi. Lane found this very interesting indeed. Once he found her weak areas, he would focus on strengthening them.

She was, however, late. He didn't mind, since he was going to teach all of his padawans how to be punctual in the first place. And since she had never been taught by an actual Jedi, to his best knowledge, she would learn what separated them from the ordinary. Even if he was a grey jedi.

Saeryl finally strode into the training grounds, not seeming to know or perhaps care that she was almost half an hour later then she was suposed to be. Her lightsaber hung from her belt, her hand hovering near to it as she approached the man sitting cross-legged on the floor. er hair was still wet - she had actually tried to hurry, and had skipped drying her hair after showering - but she didn't want him to know that.

She came to a stop five feet shy of the man, her left hand moving up to run through her damp hair, testing how wet it still was and whether or not it would get in the way if anything serious happened. Satisfied that it was fine, her hand dropped back down to her side and she waited quietly for the man to acknowledge her.

Lane stood, examining Searyn through the visor of his helm. She was a pretty girl, as he had remembered last, and obviously rushed. Her hair was still wet from showering. Lane paid no attention to it. She was here and ready to begin her training, which was all he really cared about. Like his other student, she would be a star pupil among many. He had forseen it in her future.

"Welcome, Searyn," he said, welcoming her. As with any student of his, he would test their ability through the force and know their standing. For her, however, he wanted to use his purple lightsaber. He felt it would represent the magnitude of skill between them both and a growing bond between master and student. "From what I understand, you were not a Jedi at first," he said circling around her. He kept looking forward, wanting only to hear responses.

Saeryl frowned slightly as the man stood and welcomed her, then came forward and started to slowly circle around her. She followed his circling with her head as much as she could, but stood her ground and didn't circle to keep facing her. She imagined he wanted to get a good look at her and take her measure.

"I have never even met a Jedi."

She responded clearly, waiting until her was behind her to speak, her head returning to looking straight forward. Her right hand stayed by her saber, in case he tried to attack her from behind. He didn't really seem the type, but better safe then sorry. She opened herself up to the Force, to better sense his movements.

"And my name is Saeryl."

(Sorry, mispelled. lol)

I have never even met a Jedi. Lane stopped when he heard this. It was not that she had never met a Jedi, it was the emotion he felt when he heard it, even if she did not feel the emotion herself. She was taught by a rogue force user, and he damaged her. He had heard such stories of those who chose to stray from the path of the Jedi and Bogan all together, but never figured he'd encounter one. This one was different indeed.

"I can feel inside you. I won't privy into your past out of respect, but a word of advice; it may be a good thing to vent your emotions. To convey them and not know it yourself is a dangerous thing. Now," Lane said, continuing to circle around until he was in front of her once more. "How well can you use that lightsaber dangling from your waist?" He assumed since she had never met a Jedi or was trained by one, she would have taught herself a style and not know it had already existed. He was eager to find out.

Saeryl frowned again at his words. Feel inside her? What did that mean... whatever it was, it somehow made her feel dirty. At least he wasn't hitting on her, though. At least she was fairly certain that he wasn't. His next comment gave her pause.

"Do you mean you want me to say everything I feel, or that I should hide them better?"

She returned her eyes to watching him as he came around to stand in front of her again. Her hand moved to actually rest on the hilt of her saber as it was mentioned, then she gently unclipped it from her belt. This was something she didn't think she could get across with words, so she would let her actions speak for her instead. With a flick, the orange beam sprang to life from her saber. She knew nothing about how good this man was with his saber, but she wasn't one to back down from a fight.

She fixed a grin on her face and charged forward, lightsaber held in both hands, pointing diagonally down to her right as she charged. After just a few steps she leapt, using the Force to propel herself faster - headed straight towards him, a straightforward attack if there ever was one. Her lighsaber came up abover her head and she brought it down with all her strength and momentum towards the top of his head.

"Speak your mind. It will do your spirit some good," Lane said. Then, as he had asked, she came at him with her lightsaber. He noticed she had used the force to speed her movements a little faster. This was promising in his eyes. Already, she was using a tactic that, once brought to full strength, would make her a fiersome opponent. But, as she move faster than normal, he moved at his full speed, holding nothing back. She would see what he was going to train her to become.

He moved with blinding speed, igniting the purple lightsaber and holding it in reverse grip, and then moving to block her attack. He then drew a green lightsaber and swung at her waist. If it hit, it wouldn't kill her. It would, however, wound her greatly. Just as he did with his other student, his first lesson in force powers would be how to heal oneself in battle unless they already knew how to do so.

"You can move faster," Lane said. He would either encourage her full potential, or annoy it out of her. Therefore she would never be able to say she couldn't do it.

Well, she was certainly the kind who could speak her mind, and she was about to prove it. His secondary Lightsaber cut into her midsection, and she was immediately glad he had held back. She knew he had as she wasn't cut in half and dead. She landed in a heap, somehow managing to roll over onto her back, and looked up at him. She spoke through gritted teeth as she tried to ignore the pain.

"Two sabers is clearly cheating! And do you know how long it's going to take me to fix my clothes?!"

She was partially kidding, but her outburst was really his fault, for telling her to speak her mind. He'd probably come to regret saying that somewhere along the line.

"Two sabers, double bladed sabers, greatsabers, you must learn to defend yourself from all outcomes. Your enemy will use any means necessary to kill you. But in any case, don't look at this from a negative aspect. Here, I can teach you a power in the force that will keep you from death when in battle," he said. He was glad she had said something, and chuckled a little when she mentioned her clothes. Here, however, she could learn to heal herself. This was a good thing, as it would keep her from losing a battle in any situation.

"I want you to close your eyes and place a hand over the wound. Then, go to a place in your mind where you aren't distracted. Don't let the pain, emotions, or anything else into your thinking. When you've done this, allow the force to flow through your hand and into the wound. It will start to heal. You will notice as the pain becomes lesser and lesser. Try to heal it completely. Once you've done all you can, I will heal the rest," he explained. She was listening to him. It was a good sign.

She fell silent as he started talking so that she could listen. He made some good points, in fact, and then offered to teach her a new way to use the force. This she listened to quite intently - she had always been hungry for new and exciting ways to use the force. She looked at her hand, then closed her eyes and brought it down over her midsection. She concentrated for a moment, remembering all he had said, and then let the force flow through her.

She had a bit of trouble blocking the pain, but as she concentrated it grew easier and easier. She couldn't resist peeking, looking down to see that the wound had indeed started to heal. She closed her eyes and concentrated harder, and soon the wound was mostly healed. She opened her eyes finally, unable to finish healing it, and looked up at him again to ask hopefully.

"I don't suppose this can be extended to mending clothes?"

Lane chuckled again. "I'll have one of our uniform workers repair it for you," he said as he finished healing her wound. He stood straight and faced her. "Now, your next lesson. You've obviously shown that you know how to use the force to speed up your movements, but you aren't doing it to your maximum potential. Something is holding you back. I'm almost certain you can move faster. I won't slice your gut this time, but each time I block you, I'll knock you on your feet until you can move as fast as I can," he said. This next lesson would be important as it would be an example for the rest of her force powers. If she learned not to hold back here, she wouldn't hold back ever with any power she had and any she acquired. Lane drew his purple lightsaber again and stood ready, keeping the blade at reverse grip and always ready.

Saeryl got to her feet a few moments after he finished the healing, her hand running over her flesh as though to confirm that it was truly healed. She used the Force to pull her lightsaber from the ground up to her hand, then ignited it and stared the man down. She still didn't know his name, but she had learned that he was an excellent teacher, even if his methods were a little harsh. This one would be embarassing her until she got it right by knocking her on her ass. She couldn't wait.

She breathed out slowly, then in, concentrating on the Force and willing it to flow through her. She spun her blade in her her hand, nothing overly fancy, and then again charged forward at him. The Force augmenting her movements, she made it to him in short order, her saber flashing out at his left arm from the right as she drew in close. She idly wondered if he planned on explaining to her on how to move faster then she was, or would just keep knocking her down and make her figure it out on her own.

She moved faster, but it still wasn't near his own speed. He easily blocked her attack and used the force to knock her back to her starting point where she fell on her ass. He knew she would want an explaination to this excersize, but he felt for now her goal should be to move with his same blinding speed. He had full confidence in her.

"Again. Move faster. Concentrate," he said. He was calm, and didn't raise his voice. The one thing that frustrated him was quitting. As long as she put in the effort, he would not show any anger towards her, he would simply guide her along the right way and show her how to become stronger. "Don't think about how fast you're moving, just move. Concentrate on it and don't hold back. Once you break those bonds that're holding you down, you will have no limits."

Saeryl groaned as she landed on her ass, slowly getting back to her feet. At first she thought he really wasn't going to say anything useful and just taunt her, but then he gave her something to work with. Using the Force to move faster without thinking about using it to make her move faster? That was something she had never tried before.

She flicked her blade out to her right and charged, this time just letting the force flow through her. She did her best to not specifically use it to increase her speed, and it flowed freely through her body. She came in from the other side this time, saber shifted in a blue to her left hand before she slashed at his throat.

Lane ducked just in time to dodge the slash at his neck. She had done what he asked, and she didn't disappoint. "Remember this, Saeryl. I had you do this so that you can reach your full potential. Remember this lesson with every force technique you learn, and your power will see no limit." he explained. She was proving to him more and more what she was capable of. He found it very intruiging that she learned it so quickly as well.

"Now," he said as he jumped high to a further distance. He jumped a good fifteen feet in the air, simply wanting to show off this time. He figured she knew how to do a simple trick such as that. When he landed, he faced her again. "Shall we have another duel, or have you had enough of the grand general Lane Benadaro?" He asked with a smirk. Now that she knew his strength, he hoped she would employ new tactics in order to make for a longer duel.

Saeryl watched him jump up, coming to a stop and holding her saber out to the side. She took a few moments to memorize how it had felt, and exactly what she had done. She liked the sound of her power knowing no limit. She grinned as she finally learned his name.

"I don't think I've had enough quite yet."

She reached out with her hand towards him, tapping into the Force and attempting to yank him towards her as she charged forward, the Force again flowing through her as before and speeding her actions. her saber flashed towards him as she neared, whether he had actually been tugged or not it would be aimed for his left arm, just below the shoulder.

Lane inched foward slightly from her tug. She was gaining speed, which was a good sign. He blocked as she swung at his arm with the same speed as before. Lane ducked under her blade after blocking it and moved behind her in less than a second, swinging his saber at her left arm in the same spot. This duel would be different. Here, he planned to show her the force at its most raw and most powerful form; the force lightning. He wanted her to get a taste of what her power would exceed to, and how it would help her in the future. She would not, however, be able to learn such a powerful technique just yet, most likely, as it would wear her out with the first release unless she was filled with unsatisfyable rage. At that thought, he wondered what color her lightning would be. His own was blue, and he'd even heard of those with black force lightning. The black lightning, he'd heard was the second most powerful kind.

Saeryl spun quickly, her blade barely managing to intercept his as it came at her arm. She brought her other hand up quickly and force pushed off his chest, jumping as she did to use it to push herself away from him instead of the other way around. She let herself fly back a few fett before landing, only to dash back in at him.

She tried for a feint this time, mindful of his multiple blades. Her blade would start to come in from the right, then she would spin with all the Force enhanced speed she could muster, crouching down as she brought her saber in at his knees.

As Saeryl brought her blade down to strike at his knees, he knelt down on one knee, looking at the ground as he drew a second blade, and held both of them out and facing down to intercept her attack. As the blades made contact, Lane summoned a force blast in between them to knock them both away from each other. No was the time, he thought to himself.

"Block!" He yelled, worried that if she didn't, the power behind the force lightning would be too great for her, and leave her incapable of training anymore for the day. Even with the risks, though, as he originally wanted, his only desire was to display the power she was going to achieve.

Lane held out a hand and allowed his anger to fill his mind. Once the anger had, the negative energy released and sprang forth in a blue storm of lightning at Saeryl. Assuming she had put her saber up in time, she would find it hard not to inch backwards from the magnitude of the power behind the storm. As with any dark Jedi, once she knelt on one knee in submission, he would cease the lightning and explain the purpose of showing her such a display.

Saeryl barely managed to land on her feet after the blast went off, throwing them both back. She had to catch herself with her left hand, landing in a crouched position. She stood quickly, looking across the training ground and wondering what it was she was supposed to be blocking. Was he going to throw his saber at her or something?

She barely got her saber up in time to intercept the blast of lighting, her left hand quickly joining her right to steady it. she felt herself steadily losing ground, a few inches at a time, until it was finally too much for her to hold back. She fell to a knee just before reaching the wall behind her, sweat beading on her brow due to the strain of holding back the onslaught of force energy.
