Lane stopped as he saw her knee hit the ground. He withdrew his lightsaber and walked over to her, offering a hand to help her up. "The power you just witnessed is the force at its purest and most powerful form. Because of this, it is also the most negative form of the force. To master such a power with any individual is a sign of great wisdom and control, something I hope to train you and the rest of my padawans to," he explained.

"I wanted you to see this for a reason. It's what I'm going to eventually teach you to master, yes, but I also have a lesson tied with this display. To master my own power such as that, I had to master myself. I had to learn to rule my emotions, so that they do not rule me. Now, of course I feel anger, love, happiness, and all of the emotions, but I don't let them guide my actions. The force lightning is a display of controlled hatred. It is most often triggered when one is filled with rage and on the brink of murderous insanity. So many dark jedi make this power common, and leave it at its weakest form, when it has so much promise." Lane held out a hand and made a few sparks jump around from his fingers to his palm.

"Soon, I will teach you how to channel your negative emotion into lightning, but first, you must control the emotions raging inside of you. Many times, it means to confront your past and let it go. Telling someone who would listen to you about your problems. And once they're off your chest, you start to think clearly. Your mind becomes sharp. This is when your emotions are mastered. You understand?" Lane asked. Again, he felt her raging anger and hatred burning inside her heart, even if she didn't know it. There was something about her past she kept bottled up. Lane could only guess at what dark secrets she held, just as she probably thought the same.

Saeryl took the offered hand and stood, her other hand flicking her own saber off and returning it to her belt. She raised her eyebrows slightly at his words. She most certainly wanted to learn how to control that power. It was unlike anything she had ever seen, and easily the single most destructive power she had witnessed. To harness that would be like a dream for her.

She frowned as he told her what it would take to harness it, though. She wasn't sure she was ready to talk about her past - or if she ever would be ready. It was a dark thing she had done, and she didn't think that it showed her in anything but a very dark light. She was sure she would probably be shunned for her actions by most. By this General, however... she wasn't sure. She was sure that just thinking about it made her both angry and sad.

"I... I think I need more time. I barely even know you, and... well, it's really personal... I mean, I haven't even seen your face."

(We're going to go through the first two days [including this one] in the RP, then we're going to skip a few weeks to where she learns lightning, then a few months to the day she completes her training. Sound good? I didn't want to make it an uber long RP so that she could go out and get some action in the field.)

"Don't be afraid," Lane said. "This lesson was for later on down the road. You've a while before you come to learn how to use lightning, and this is only the first day. That being said, you've done so well today, you may have the rest of the day to yourself. Tomorrow, we focus on your lightsaber training," Lane said as he turned to walk away.

"Oh, and about seeing my face... I don't show many people that. When you're ready to learn how to use lightning, we'll sit and tell each other our pasts. Then, I may take my helm off in front of you. But that will be much further down this road. I don't know you that well yet anyways." He said as he continued out of the room. When he made his way to one of the extravegent courtyards, he took his helmet off, wanting to see the beautiful sky with his own eyes. His long brown hair flowed in the breeze as his blue eyes examined the shapes in the clouds. It was moments like these that made him glad to have gone on his own so he could see these things without a teacher forcing him to keep his mind focused. He let a smile creep across his face, then he continued to his personnal quarters.

(Sounds good to me ^^)

Saeryl breathed a sigh of relief, then smiled as he continued to talk. The rest of the day off? She wasn't sure what she'd do with it. Maybe go and see what kind of mischeif she could cause... or, better yet, go and find the kitchen and get some food. That was what she would do.

So it would be a while until she saw his face - maybe that was for the best. She would have to make sure she didn't grow attached to her new Master, lest she suddenly find herself with the urge to kill this one's love. Speaking of, she was already nervous for the day they'd tell eachother their respective pasts. Somehow "I killed my last master's love in front of him while he was powerless to stop me and left him a broken, dismembered husk" just didn't sound like something she should be telling her new master. She hoped he wouldn't get the wrong idea... but who was she kidding. He would probably get the wrong idea.

She would wave as he turned to leave, then turn and move off to hunt for the kitchen and some good food, her smile returning as she thought about eating.

As Lane entered his quarters, he got out of his armor and dressed in the normal casual uniform all mercanaries regardless of rank wore when they weren't busy or training. His holoprojector rang. It was probably the Senator wanting to make more deals about controlling the mercenaries again. Lane found ti annoying, but it was a part of signing the treaty to allow them to set up a base there. Of course the senator would want them as a part of his military group.

Lane made sure he had left all of his lightsabers on his bed and then walked out of his room and towards the cantina. He could use some food and a cool drink. Then, memories of Naomii flashed in his mind. He remembered how much he missed her and wished she would've joined him in the Luminado, but he had yet to run into her. They were best friends, so he didn't doubt she would say yes, but she was off across the galaxy somewhere. He had work to do anywho, so it didn't bother him any. They would meet someday.

As he entered the cantina which only officers could go into, he ordered a plate and sat at a table. Some of the other officers who know him sat down next to him and began to spring up a conversation. Lane joked and ate until he was content, then ventured back to his quarters and laid in his bed with a candle fire giving him light. He picked up a holobook and began to read until he was tired, and then fell asleep for the night. That night, he dreamed of the war...

Saeryl found noone to eat with that looked interesting after she had aquired some food, so she took it to a quiet table and ate it alone. She found that it was delicious and almost got seconds, but thought better of it and instead decided to simply head back to her room. She tossed her saber on her bed, then let out a quiet sigh. She would draw a nice warm bath and soak for a while, and then after drying her hair completely this time go right to sleep. She would probably have a big day tommorow.

Lane was up early the next morning, dressed fully in his armor with all twelve lightsabers clipped to his utility belt. He made his way to the dueling room, sat down cross-legged, and waited for Saeryl. Today was a fairly big day, as he would teach her two new powers which would make her a force to be reckoned with in the galaxy; force illusion, which was to make everyone else see her as a different person entirely, and force precognition, or the ability to peer into the future. Not only that, he would teach her how to master Form V of the lightsaber styles. He was fairly excited.

Saeryl showed up very nearly on time, looking well rested today and her hair wasn't damp as well. Her lightsaber hung loosely on her belt. She walked into the training ground, then over to stand at about the same distance she had the day before, perhaps a foot closer. She studied the General for a few moments, idly wondering if he slept in that armor. She was assuming he didn't, but as she had yet to see him out of it, she couldn't rule out the possibility. At least he didn't smell. Maybe he showered in the armor too? She couldn't help but grin at that thought.

"Good morning, Grand General Lane Benedaro."

She winked at the man, using his full title he had given himself some-what mockingly, but good naturedly. She looked to be wearing the same thing as the day before, but the fact that her clothes weren't sporting that Lightsaber cut indicated that she probably had multiple copies of this outfit, just for occasions like this. It wasn't that this was all she wore, it was just what she liked to wear when fighting.

"Welcome, my young padawan," Lane said in her same cocky attitude. "Come an sit. Before we focus on your saber training, I'm going to teach you a technique in the force in which you will be able to foresee future events," he explained. Precognition would be easier for her to learn than Illusion, in his opinion.

Saeryl stared at him for a moment, then moved quickly forward and sat, also cross-legged. Seeing the future sounded like something that would be incredibly useful. She wondered if he meant the near future or far future - or perhaps both? She brought her hands down to her knees, resting them there lightly. She looked more at ease then she had yesterday, as she slowly grew used to being close to someone again.

"That sounds useful."

"Extremely useful. This ability, when used at will, can grant you visions of the near future. But spontaneous visions are usually of far off futures. Now, close your eyes and calm your heart. Allow nothing to enter your mind, like with how you healed yourself, and let the force flow through you, taking your spirit wherever it guides. Once you're there, it will show you what you ask it to show you; a vision," he explained. He watched her through his visor to make sure she did it correctly.

Saeryl nodded, then closed her eyes and opened herself to the force. She slowly cleared her thoughts, her breath leveling out as she concentrated more and more on just feeling the force. Once she was fully within its flow, she gently asked it to show her a vision of the future, not specifying or caring at the moment if it were near or far.

Lane closed his eyes, curious to see what she was seeing. It was obvious he wouldn't travel to the same place her mind was, but he wanted to watch for himself. The future of his padawans always intrigued him. This one was special as well. She had a bright future, regardless of her past. Lane watched carefully as the clouds of her future began to dissepate into images and clear pictures.

Saeryl faltered slightly as the images cleared in her mind, but resolutely returned to concentrating on the Force so that she could see them. She mentally cleared the 'clouds' away, and saw... children. Two of them, a boy and a girl, both with little training sabers in their hands. She saw herself standing there, and then the images faded, leaving her wondering who the kids were. Were they hers, or just a look at future padawans? She had no idea. Her eyes opened, questions written on her face as she looked across to Lane.

"Sometimes the force will leave unanswered questions for you to discover yourself. These children seem to be padawans of yours, if you were to ask me," Lane said, not caring if she were wierded out that he saw what she saw. "But then again, if you had children that could feel the force as you do, would you train them in your footsteps?" He asked, wanting her to think and dwell on this matter to strengthen her focus.

Saeryl didn't really need to think about it. She already knew what she'd do. She smiled as she thought about it.

"Of course i would, if they were mine. I'd give them the best training I could, so that they could learn to protect themselves."

She shrugged her shoulders gently, focusing on her memories of the dream. he was right, they were more then likely simply future padawans that she would someday train. She smiled as well at the thought of one day being strong enough in the Force to train others.

"Never rule out either possibility. There are good aspects about both thoughts. But now I will teach you the second force power that will aid you greatly, especially as a Luminado," Lane said as he stood up. Within less than a second, his physical appearence and voice changed. Instead of Lane Benadaro standing in front of Saeryl, a blue male Twi'lek was there. He wore black robes and carried a red lightsaber. This was a man from Lane's past; a Bogan who made an attempt at Lane's life and the life of his closest friend. He was powerful.

"I am Krelyth Shahara, dark lord of the Bogan!" He said. He rose his lightsaber towards Saeryl, completely falling through with his disguise. Once she struck at him, he would change back to normal and explain the power.

Saeryl blinked as the man changed before her eyes. A Bogan dark lord, here? This wasn't what she had signed up for. Maybe this was why he always wore that mask? She snapped herself backwards as his lightsaber came out, handspringing to her feet, hew own lightsaber in her hand and ignited by the time she landed. She growled as she charged right back in at him, saber brought up in a quick diagonal slash and followed through with a horizontal slash for his midsection.

The Twi'lek blocked and changed back into Lane just as fast as he appeared once the blades made contact. He was Lane once again. "This force power is called Force Illusion," he said as he withdrew his saber. "With it, in your eyes, I can appear as whoever I want you to believe I am, in that case, a dark lord who once tried to kill me. With this technique, you can slip into any place, gather whatever information, and do whatever you want." He said. He stepped back, wanting to show more examples. He first turned back into the dark lord Krelyth, then into a Mon Calimari named Shyrith who helped him construct his current ship, then he changed into Naomii last. This one, without thinking, he stayed at the longest. He didn't realize how many seconds he had stayed as her, realizing his emotions got the better of him. He changed back and composed himself.

"To use this power, all you simply need to do is bend the light around your body through the force, making you appear as someone completely different. It's an extremely easy technique, and I don't expect you to take long to learn it. With this power, the first person that comes to your mind should be the first person I see," Lane explained. He was eager to see the people she would show him.

Saeryl stopped, calming down as Lane changed into a few different forms. Ok, so maybe he wasn't a dark lord of the Sith. She was most intruiged by the female he turned into - obviously it must be someone important to him, as he had stayed in her image for much longer then the other forms.

"Alright."

She broke herself out of that thought process and concentrated on the Force. She would shimmer dimly, then slowly change into the form of a blonde human girl. He wouldn't know, but it was her former master's lover, whom she had killed. She concentrated harder and her form shifted into that of her former master, and then finally shifted into Lane, complete with his armor of course as she had never seen him out of it.
