Jade had met a Jawa force sensitive on Naboo, about a week and a half ago. She had been on Naboo meeting up with an Amaran contact of her's, when a the Jawa named Decki, had approached her asking for the direction of a Gungan fruit merchant. She had instantly felt something different in him, believing it to be the force telling her, that he was one of her own kind, she had offered to teach him some of the basics that she herself had been taught. Teaching a one on one crash course on meditation and focusing of the mind with the force seemed to be right up her ally. However she was unsure how easy it all was coming to the Jawa. He was twice her age, and she had never taught anyone in anything concerning such matters as the force. Jade was after all only an 11 year old padawan, and definitely still more accustomed to learning and being taught herself. As she remembered the age old proverb "As teachers teach students, so do students teach their teachers." She looked at the Jawa sitting in front of her, she asked, "How are you doing Decki?"

"I'm fine" Decki said to the new teacher Jade "But I feel kinda awkward that I am being taught by a younger woman" Decki said in Jawanese hoping she wouldn't understand.
Decki smiled and said "Are we going to start training soon" he said excitedly.

Jade smirked, she had no idea what Decki had said, but she had an idea. It was highly unusual for one so young to teach. She looked in his direction and laughed, "Of course we can start now, but first I would like to know what you understand of the Jedi ways. Anything you don't understand fully will hinder your training." As they sat in a secluded garden in the city of Moenia. Jade enjoyed this particular area, and felt it to be an excellent place to meditate and focus one's self. As she waited for the Jawa to reply, she thought to herself, "This should be interesting."

"Oh damn" Decki thought he concentrated really hard to think what the other Jawa said about the Jedi "I know they have some sort of spiritual side and also that my species is rare to have one" Decki said. As he saw Jade brought him to a green desert he was confused "what are these things green tumbleweeds" Decki said confused "Sorry if I offend you but I've never seen this green desert".

Jade listened to the Jawa's reply, she had no idea that force sensitivity was rare among Deck's people. She smirked at his inquiry about the green dessert. She looked at him with a smirk on her face, and said, "This is no dessert, Decki, I've brought you to a garden, those are called trees, bushes, and flowers."

She found his lack of knowledge on the Jedi to her advantage, as no sith lies needed to be corrected. Jade relaxed her body, taking an informal meditation pose and began her instruction.

~

"While it is common for non-force sensitive beings to covet the Jedi path, taking up the challenge of being a Jedi is is a far more difficult life than many people think. It requires both deep commitment and devotion to the Jedi Order. This includes self-sacrifice, servitude, and rigid self-discipline. Therefore, the Jedi way of life is centered around three major philosophical and fundamental core tenets. Of which governs all aspects of a Jedi's, life, morals, and actions. This causes us to exercise patience, humility, and benevolence. These are the Three Pillars of the Jedi, and cover three aspects of the Jedi path, encompassing the every aspect of the Jedi's mindset and devotion to the Force."

~

Jade paused, waiting for any questions Decki may have had.

Decki was confused by most of what she said "Servitude, self-sacrifice and rigid self-discipline what are these things" Decki thought to himself as he never heard these words in Universe-Basic class so he asked "what do these words mean" saying the words he just thought.

Listening to Decki's inquiry, Jade smile, she had never been asked such a question. Jade focused herself and then answered

~

"Servitude is when a person acts to make the lives of others easier without complaint, often without seeking anything in turn. Self-sacrifice is when, often in an act of servitude, a person puts the needs if necessary the lives of others above their own. There will come a time when all Jedi must face darkness, and in action of our duties as Jedi, it will often require such sacrifices, sometimes even our lives. Because of this the Jedi keep a tight control over themselves and their emotions, this is what is meant by self-discipline. The Force is a power thing to wield and often the temptations of the dark side will attempt to cloud our minds. You must keep in mind that the Force is neither light nor dark, it is indifferent, balanced, and it cares not for our victories nor so our woes. One must keep to the path of light set down from thousands of years of philosophy and history. This is how we Jedi chose to keep control of ourselves, least we be driven to madness by the dark side."

~

Pausing before moving forward Jade made sure to wait for anymore questions, Decki, may have had.

"So basically when I chose to become a jedi I devote my life for the safety of others and will accept gratitude for my deeds and nothing else" Decki was trying to keep up with Jade and trying to recap what she just said.
"And I will never let my mind go into the dark side because I don't like the empire and the sith".

"Correct, however you can accept other gives, you just shouldn't ask, this is what it means for a Jedi to be humble." Jade smiled to Dacki, she was glad he was understanding her words. When he made mention of the empire and the sith, Jade replied, "Even then you must still have strict self-control, you may not desire to join the sith, but even Jedi can fall to the dark side. They are called Dark Jedi, because they follow the dark side, even if they fight against the sith."

Jade tilted her head back so her face was shown to the sky, she circled her head around popping her neck, and relaxing herself as she brought her gaze back to the Jawa.

~

The First Pillar is the Pillar of the Force, it holds to the concepts of, Unifying and Living Force, as well as the Light Side, and the dangers of the Dark Side. The concept of the Unifying and Living Force, is that of how everything in the universe is connected, me, you, these trees, and everything else in the universe. Even in death there we are still connected to the universe. This unification is called the Force, and those of us who are force sensitive are simply able to feel and effect this unification. This is how we use our force abilities as well. The concepts of the Light and Dark sides of the force are pretty self explanatory, as we have just gone over them.

~

Once again Jade waited to see if Decki had any inquires or thoughts he wished to share.

Decki still trying to keep up with all these word trying to make the words into his own sentence "So the force is basically power given to you by the universe and to a select few and by unifying the force you can use select powers of which you train... Right?".

Jade listened to Dacki, it was a honest inquiry, but false, so she simply corrected him, "No, the universe didn't give you and I our abilities, we were born with them by chance. In order to utilize force abilities we have to tap into the flow of cosmic energy. We Jedi call this channeling the force, we train in these abilities simply to alter the way we chose to mold the the energy around us. This can be with a simple push or pull of the force, or it can be more advanced abilities such as Telekata, which combines the use of telekinesis and lightsaber combat, where the wielder can wield his or her lightsaber with the force, not needing to touch the hilt." Jade watched had the Jawa's eye's lit up with amazement at the thought of a flying lightsaber.

Now then back to the discussion, she said as she continued to speak.

~

"The Second Pillar is the Pillar of Knowledge. Which includes the study of the Jedi Code, tenets, and archives. It teaches us that a Jedi can not fulfill their duties without diligent study and learning of knowledge and wisdom. This means that a Jedi must study, not only books and other forms of material knowledge, such as art, science, and medicine, but also theoretical wisdom, such as philosophy, sociology, religion, and of course the force. We adhere to a code, it is both a set of morals and that of philosophical ideals."

Jade folded her legs under her, laying her hands on her thighs she closed her eyes and recited the words she had used as a mantra sense early childhood.

"There is no Emotion; There is Peace
There is no Ignorance; There is Knowledge
There is no Passion; There is Serenity
There is no Chaos; There is Harmony
There is no Death; There is the Force"

~

Looking back at her friend, she paused allowing him to mole over her words and the Jedi code, after a minute or two he looked at her with a questioning gaze. She smiled and waited for him to inquire a thought from her.

"The Jedi Code is there is no Emotion; There is Peace
There is no Ignorance; There is Knowledge
There is no Passion; There is Serenity
There is no Chaos; There is Harmony
There is no Death; There is the Force, isn't it"
Decki said with a calm tone "And to study I use any form of serenity and media to find my inspiration"

"Correct, this is our code, it is was has guided our Order for thousands of years, and Jedi are openly allowed to study any fields or mediums they find helpful, so long as it adheres to the code." Jade smile at Decki, he seemed to be picking up on everything a lot faster now. She breathed slowly, remaining relaxed, and continued the discussion.

~

The Third Pillar is the Pillar of Discipline, and is the final of the Three Pillars. It includes a Jedi's reflection on self-defense and physical training. As guardians of peace, we Jedi practice many forms of self-discipline, from physical unarmed combat to tirelessly mastering the art of the lightsaber. Most people however do not know that the foundations of the Third Pillar begin with sessions of deep meditation and self-reflection. This only occurs when one realizes and masters the two former pillars. With tour lightsabers, we practice many forms of self-defense, the most famous being the seven classical lightsaber forms and the three new lightsaber styles."

~

Jade paused, to let Deki contemplate her words, she waiting for any questions he may have had.

"So before I can learn to master the lightsaber I must master the 2 previous pillars" Decki said to Jade. It was hard to process all this information but he tried to remember as much as he could to write down it later.

"Not necessarily, you just have to display an understanding of them and practice the first two pillars properly. Once you are come to the conclusion that you are ready, then you make set out to make your lightsaber, and once completed you are considered skilled enough in the first two pillars to wield it." Jade answered Dacki's question. "I for instance do not wield a lightsaber because I have yet to make one. Thusly I have yet to seek out training in proper lightsaber compact."

"So, first things first, we will try simple mediation, get comfortable and try to clear your mind." She instructed him, as she got into her favorite position. Her legs folded under her, her hands in her lap, and her eyes closed.

"There is no Emotion; There is Peace"

Jade could sense the Jawa's struggle to clear his mind. Taking a deep breath, she spoke, "Do not try so hard, you must not give chase to clarity, rather you must let it find you." The majority of Decki's difficulty came from his attempt at forcing it to come to pass. This was no way to clear one's mind however. Reciting the second line of the Jedi Code, she continued her meditation, letting her words wash over his mind in an attempt to bring him unclouded clarity.

Decki listened to what Jade said and was slowly clearing his mind of the past and what was going on right now.
Decki was happy that finally he was getting a little hang on it.
Flashback
Decki was a young Jawa probably about 13-14 and he was asked to do his first trade with his parents happy at finally doing a trade he grabbed the metal part and all those needed for droid and he headed down to the Mos Cantina to meet up with people who wanted to trade.
Little did he know these people were sith as he was happy that they were doing there first trade he handed them a Astromech droid who was red and orange so he asked them in Jawanese "Can we have the credits now please" hoping he would get his first trade he asked about the money.
The Sith replied in Jawanese "If you want the money it is inside that building" Decki decided to wait outside as his parents went to get the money.
As his parents went inside the building exploded and then he was struck in the head by the stormtrooper with the sith knocking him unconscious.
Decki re awoke and realized that the building exploding wasn't a dream struck by grief his collapsed on the floor crying after he realized he lost his parents.

Jade could feel the sadness and grief on the Jawa's mind, she reached out through the force to calm his mind and aid him in his further meditation. She was happy with the way Decki was progressing. Introspection gained understanding, and understanding one's self gained them greater control over themselves. Lending the Jawa further calming and soothing emotions she continued the mantra.
