[Tython Jedi Academy]

Matsu was at peace as she sat down under the waterfall on, she had been doing classes and training where she could but mostly she had been thinking. Slowly she removed her coat as she threw it to the side and onto a rock from behind the falls. She wanted to relax and meditate but while others sat on rocks around she sat down with the water's icy bite hitting her skin as she made a face. Slowly her body adjusted and her eyes closed as her thoughts drifted as she recalled things from her past. Slowly images of her past flooded into Matsu's head as she was a ten year old kneeling in front of a man in white robes sounding a bell and speaking.

"Matsu you have done well but your training is not nearly complete. We must make you into your destiny so that your families killers will be punished.

Slowly the man sounded the bell as a woman in red armor stood off to the side and looked on. Slowly Matsu heard the man as the bell chimed for the third time.

"Tell me Matsu, as a child of the Netherworld what is the first thing you remember?"

With a look Matsu tilted her head up as her face was slack and her eyes fierce. She remembered much mainly the mans intense training as her words came out and she kept kneeling in the snow.

"I remember my birth, I remember a room with woman looking at me and my mother as she spoke." "Matsu my daughter you were born to fulfill my vengeance. Such a sad fate for a child..... a child of the Netherworld.

Slowly as she spoke the bell chimed for the final time as Matsu looked at the man who motioned for her to continue.

"I remember master Katagiri bringing me to you after she was released. She and you have told me what i am everyday since I was a baby."

The man looked at Matsu as he walked forward and stood over her and took out a wooden stick. Slowly he held it over her shoulder as he brought it down and spoke until she had welts but didn't cry out and the man held a rope out to her. Slowly Matsu tied it around her waist as she stood and felt the bite of the snow before he struck at her again. Quickly she dodged as he struck at her again and again each time faster and faster.

"You have a destiny; forget joy, forget sorrow, forget love and hate, forget everything except vengeance!"

As the man spoke Matsu looked up at him and dodged his strike with a roll and he caught her lip with a splinter that ddrew blood dripping it into the snow as she looked up and her eyes showed a resolve to defeat the man. Slowly Matsu stood up as he struck at her and she kicked up cracking the stick and she watched the broken end land away in the snow. Slowly Matsu circled and ran at the man pounding on his stomach as she silently screamed. She wasn't ever supposed to make a sound as she felt Katagiri's arms around her and pull her away.

Slowly Matsu came back to reality letting the water pelt against her back. It was cold and her skin was numb but she was used to it. She still had another five minutes of sitting here before she was going to get up. As the five minutes passed Matsu stood up and jumped from her rock towards her coat feeling nothing in her arms and neck where it was exposed to the water and had become a blue same as her lips and face. Slowly she ran a hand through her hair and kneeled down letting the sun dry her off. With a look up Matsu remained kneeling as she kept her coat and saber out in front of her.

Saia glanced at Matsu for a moment with a silent smile. She was drenched and looked calm and at peace, and Saia determined that she had to try that some day. She got up from her bench and walked over to Matsu, her hand outstretched from underneath soft, beige robes, her cerulean eyes peering with an infinite curiosity at the other girl. "My name is Saia," she smiled, hoping to make an introduction with the girl who seemed lost in introspection. She hadn't yet met many padawan, but was quite social, if hesitant at times. But she saw something of herself in Matsu, and she couldn't help but introduce herself to the girl who was without a doubt older than her.

She had let her hair down today, it's dark, black form about the same length as Matsu's, her hair seemingly perfect despite the small breeze that would have probably carried her stray strands of hair away. "Do you go there often to meditate?"

Matsu slowly looked up and stood in a fluid motion as she came to stand shorter then Saia dn spoke through the force bowing her head. She knew a few of the other padawans, mainly Adonia and Chora who were the closest she had to friends but she let a smile appear on her face. She could be friendlly as slowly Matsu ran a hand through her hair coming away with droplets and her lips still shivered. "I am Matsu, it is nice to meet you Saia." Slowly Matsu looked around the waterfall and spoke more, she hadn't really come here that often but the water was just like training half clothed in snow. It made you have to concentrate to block out the chill and bite. "No this is my first time here, it is very peaceful. I am usually on Coruscant." With a bow Matsu picked up her saber as she clipped it to her waist and looked at Saia and quickly took her hand. She didn't want to be rude as she spoke a little more through the force. "Do you come here often?"

Saia smiled politely as she wiped the moisture that was now on her hand off on her robes, trying to hide the act by continuing the conversation. "Once in a while, yes, when I need to rethink the things I have learned, uncover the truths in my lessons. What do you think about when you meditate?" she asked aloud. Despite Matsu's knowledge of telepathy, Saia had no idea how to converse in such a fashion. It was still disconcerting to hear the voice of one that was not your conscience in your head, but she was trying to become more accustomed to it. Apparently many Jedi used the trick, and she began to wonder if she were abnormal for having no knowledge of it. She hid the thoughts in her mind, suddenly unaware if Matsu could read them. She flashed away her concern with another, even larger smile, "...and what brings you to Tython?"

Kelly was walking along the river bank in her Civilian atier when she was out of her classes she was happy to get out of the itchy Jedi robes she hated them since day one of arriving at the temple, her red coat fluttered in the breeze. whistling and levitating her lightsaber in front of her, she then noticed the two other padawans she didn't know either of them then again she didn't leave her quarters much and the only person she talked to was delta mostly. she stopped a few feet away, "Sorry wasn't expecting anyone to be out this far."

Matsu looked at Saia when she asked the question of her meditations. What did she think about? Well how to explain lessons that only an old man could think up? She really didn't have an explanation for it as she tried to word it correctly. "When I meditate I think of my youth. When I was a child and taught how to fight. The water has the same feel as winter snow and can help you concentrate." Slowly Matsu wiped her hands, she figured they would have been dry and spoke a little more through the force when she was asked why she came. Again she wasn't sure but knew knowledge would help her advance and grow. "I came to learn from the archives, I wish to become a jedi shadow." Quickly Matsu heard the young woman who came up on her and Saia and she spoke with a bow. "Hello I am Matsu."

"Oh..." Saia droned on, glad that the new arrival had kept her from talking about her youth, or rather the lack of memories therein. "Oh, hello! My name is Saia, what brings you here?" she beamed a smile at the newcomer, trying to ignore the fact that she was flipping her lightsaber around with telekinetic powers. Saia began to feel even more intimidated, knowing she barely knew how to wield her own weapon or manipulate the force, much less keep things aloft or speak into peoples minds.

Kelly looked at Matsu, "kelly Cross." she catching her saber and putting it back into one of the holsters under her coat, she then turned her attention to Saia. "I was just out for a walk. I wasn't intruding on something was I?"

Matsu looked at Kelly, she rather liked the look of the other padawan. her silver hair and eyes gave her a look of mystic while her outfit was unconventional. At lesst that was what she thought, the same could be said for Matsu's coat and gloves or just black leathers. Slowly Matsu spoke looking at Kelly twirl her lightsaber and make it float. She might be able to get a little help after that embarrassing incident where she fell while meditating. Maybe Kelly would help or at least give her a pointer to better practice, at least for concentration. Floating a saber seemed like an easier place to start then oneself. "No no, your not intruding, we were just talking about why we came to tython. I want to be a jedi shadow." With a nod Matsu looked at Kelly's saber, she hadn't met many other padawans who had a saber, it seemed to her they didn't build them until a master chose them. Slowly she unconsciously thumbed her thinking about the slight reaction she usually gets from the blade color.

"I'm just here to learn," Saia smiled humbly, "I'm not sure what I'll be, that's a path that I haven't found yet." She kept her smile, noticing Kelly's brilliant magenta eyes, quite like her own blue eyes, but unique and quite akin to the burning violet saber of Jedi Master of old she had seen in holovids and holocrons.

"Me I sadly don't have any grand aspirations, for coming to Tython lets just say I'm here do to circumstance." She said clenching her fist. She noticed Matsu eyeing the saber she put away. "Something odd about my saber? sorry I couldn't help but notice you watching it the entire time I put it away."

Matsu looked at Kelly a little confused when she asked about the saber and Matsu spoke quickly. "No no problem, just most padawans don't seem to have one." Slowly Matsu held hers up and looked at Kelly as she spoke more. "I was amazed it how you levitated it, I have been trying but am unable to. Please if you could give me some pointers.

Saia listened intently, hoping to pick up some tips as well. But from what she understood, the manifestation of the Force was personal for each person. Still, it couldn't hurt to listen to how Kelly lifted and held an object aloft whilst manipulating it's pitch and yaw, causing it to twirl. Saia wondered how much control Kelly actually had over how it spun. She smiled at Kelly, waiting for the girl to respond to the still drenched Matsu.

"I don't know how to describe it, I don't try and spin the saber or anything I just do it. I'm sorry if that didn't make much sense." Kelly said looking at the two.

Matsu gave a little frown pinching her eyebrows as she nodded, she knew the feeling of being able to just do something. She could just block out pain where the other padawans complained and slowly Matsu spoke. "You have helped more then you know, I will have to practice." Slowly Matsu rolled her shoulders as she began to feel in her arms again. The blue numbness was starting to go away from the icy water and Matsu felt her leathers. They were getting dry from the sun and air.

"And you just free yourself and let yourself play with the saber, or other things?" Saia asked Kelly, not meaning to sound offensive but instead genuinely curious. "Are you worried you might accidentally hurt someone? The question seemed silly, but somehow Saia thought it pertinent to herself.

"yes, as for hurting someone, if I do I do its a mistake I learn from it, and move on." she said shrugging "If your worried about hurting someone while practicing find a secluded spot that simple." Kelly said nonchalantly.

Matsu nodded and looked at Saia as she spoke. "When we are here at least for me it is for show, no one to really practice with. I still use training sabers. As for hurting people well you have to try not to." Slowly Matsu had warmed her hands as she slipped her gloves on and offered her saber to Saia. "If you would like you can try it out? For when you get a master and build one. Have a leg up."

Saia looked at the training saber, realizing she had probably misplaced her own somewhere in her room. She thought to try pulling the saber from Matsu's grip with the Force, but wasn't sure how, so instead took the blade physically and ignited it. She flipped it around in her hands, it was surprisingly heavy, yet at the same time light. She deactivated it, looking to Matsu for a suggestion on what to do with it.

Kelly just watched things play out. She had nothing to say for the situation.
