"Sorry, I'm a little late but the traffic was terrible!" Drow commed over to his Jedi allies, making a bad joke about the emptiness of hyperspace.

Truth be told, Drow was having a good time, though he'd never admit. As much as the Ishi Tib had once tried to shy away from his violent past, he had now accepted it as a part of who he was. Like any other tool, violence could be used for good and evil and Drow was going to use his affinity for it to put a hurting on the Sith. Nonviolence was a noble goal and Drow would strive for it...after the Sith had been wiped out. So, while he might have been a bit more restrained with his joy before Denon, now there was nothing stopping him from letting everyone know just how much he enjoyed space battles.

He'd gotten practiced at space battles during his days as a mercenary and, as a lover of old military tech, there was few greater pleasures he got in life than by outflying newer ships with his well-worn Y-Wing and his belligerent droid Sparky. When he and the others at Yavin had gotten the call about a looming attack on Byblos, Drow hadn't hesitated. Rowsing the Pamarthan pilots (who were now a part of the Temple Security Force), he'd hopped into his Y-Wing and together, they'd made the jump to Byblos to provide reinforcements for the defense fleet.

Idly thumbing the antique flightsuit he'd managed to grab from the Temple inventory, Drow was followed by the 20 E-wings that the Jedi had that were accompanying Byron. Taking quick note of his surroundings, Drow figured out the best move.

"This is Gold Leader. I want Gold 1, Gold 2, Gold 3, and Gold 4 on me. The rest of you, go after those TIEs. That Arquitens has no internal hangar. If we can prevent any fighters from reaching it, it should be a lot more easier to blow up." Drow commed over to his E-Wing unit, easily recalling the Arquitens specs from being a fan of old-school military hardware. His fighters did as commanded, choosing targets and efficiently pursuing them, honoring their good Pamarthan names.

Andruil's comlink buzzed and she looked down at it to see Malicia's message. Twin boys. She was surprised, but unfortunately did not have time to respond in the throes of battle. She would have to send congratulations later.

Indeed, she said to Tiamat's comment. She was glad for the presence of the other Sith, now a Lord, but her mind was still on the battle at hand. She was here for blood, and that meant her normally almost-chipper demeanor was overshadowed by something far more primal.

In her mind, she was back on Dathomir, remembering the time she was hunted by a rancor as barely more than a child. The fear that gripped her, the primal need for survival. It was this same mindset that she called upon now. Fate would have her either kill or be killed. The Fanged Spirit whose tattoos covered her body required blood.

She could hear blasterfire from the next corridor and could see rounds slapping against the wall as Sith marines and local defense forces exchanged fire with one another. The Nightsister stepped around the corner, saber in hand and her other hand glowing like green fire.

The Shadow heeded her call, wrapping around one of the soldier's heads and slamming it into the wall hard enough to leave a smear of red against the previously pristine white wall. More gunfire was exchanged, and Andruil ducked into an alcove to the side behind one of the bulkheads. Her saber plunged into the wall and carved through to the next hallway over before ducking through.

This one was empty and set her on the path toward the bridge, but also likely on the path to the Jedi who had boarded the ship without the Sith Lord's knowledge. Onward to the bridge.

There were many targets before the Sith fleet. Venthis Habrak was aware that such a target rich environment would be brought to the Sith war effort sooner or later. He was prepared for it to be sooner, he was prepared for it to be later. In either eventuality this was not the moment of loss of momentum for the Sith. Habrak knew his duty well. He knew the strategy to the the letter, inside and out, forward and backward. He would carry it out with extreme prejudice and without remorse.

It was simply a matter of engagement and when the time was right to enact each phase. There was initiative, and there were orders. All of which moved through his his mind like a water through a wheel. Perfect calculation and anticipation.

Fighter heavy defenses. That was where his mind sat.

Habrak did not smile, he did not shift. He remained gazing out of the bridge view port at the onslaught headed there way.

Deck officers and operators yelled out positions and put them on the holomap at the center, the full read of the battle visible for Habrak's executive officer who likewise gave Habrak the update, while the commanding officer put those words into his mind to follow through the best course.

Now was the time. Now the action was ready. Now they were in position. Now Habrak would do his part.

"Deflectors to maximum. All batteries fire on that CR-100 corvette. Lock on to every fighter in range. Once you have the lock, fire missiles."

The deck officers scrambled, the tactical chatter echoed over the radios, the mousedroids scurried, the troopers took their positions, bay doors were closed, the cannons twisted and powered, the launchers revealed themselves and took their signals.

A dull rumbling was heard throughout the Sakor, a thumping and hurdling noise that was consistent and rhythmic.

Habrak looked forward through the viewport and watched as the space before him was a light with the red flashes of six laser cannons, green bolts of four turbo lasers, blue jets of four ion cannons, and violet hues of a score of missiles was released from his vessel. The missiles were each pinged to a fighter in range, the cannons roaring towards his opponent.

The opening volley was a full bombardment of his enemy, and Habrak did not smile, did not sneer, did not move. He watched from the viewport at the dancing lights in open space.

Disciplined and dutiful.

Both sets of Sith boarding craft had made contact with the BDF flagship, comm pings from their pilots confirming their payloads had made it aboard. Sensors also picked up a non-standard craft in the form of a Blackfin blastboat whose ID he didn't recognize and the young Lord's eyes narrowed at it.

Other unrecognized signals flared as well. A corvette, a variety of E-wings, a modified and archaic Cloakshape, and a single Y-wing. It also looked like the Sakor was already following Stolas' doctrine and engaging threats immediately as they appeared, it's guns firing at the corvette and tracking missiles at the small craft as they came in.

Storm Squadron and the swarms of modern TIE fighters were also waiting for them, and Stolas' battle group had a reputation of lethality to uphold.

"Move to intercept. Burn them all."
Stolas sent his message out as both sides moved to engage, missiles flying out in volleys toward defending craft and Arrowheads angling to intercept. Both sides were still at long range but that didn't mean they couldn't start firing, bolts flying out into empty space. The Shrike picked its own target as well.

That single Y-wing (
@Drow Venn ) was the most vulnerable and stood out, up at the front ahead of E-wings and also targeted by a tracking concussion missile from an off angle fired by Sokar. Stolas locked on at maximum range, moving at 90mglt, and threw a brief burst of fire from four medium laser and two medium ion cannons into its path, from the front and slightly below, Morgan's ship blending in with the group of others just like it as they flew to slug it out somewhere in the middle.

When the two sides finally met it would be a mess, both sides engaged in a dog fight to see whose bombers and capital ships would win out in the end, E-wings clashing against Arrowheads and TIEs.

The Arquitens Lone Digger was busy moving to engage the larger Gladiator with other ships and was relying on the others to do their job and keep the ships away.

"Pedee, report."

Darth Asminys' eyes narrowed slightly as he felt the Jedi's paltry resistance to his efforts as he continued forwards. A token effort that had the Sith Lord on guard as the Jedi bounded forward, his rush enhanced by the force as he lead in with his left shoulder, blade swinging in from Asminy's left.

The Sith Lord's left foot was already on the back-step as he pivoted for his own right shoulder to face the Jedi's charging left shoulder, the hungering black blade that he held at the ready between them, eager to taste the light that pulsed from the Jedi. He already held the Jedi's head in the grip of his closed left fist that had hovered above his shoulder and he maintained that grip, closed palm turning upwards as the hand dropped to his waist while he pivoted, twisting the Jedi's helm, head, and through extension his body further to the right and forwards.

The pulsing blade in his right-hand likewise moved in a tight slash from his own right-to-left to intercept the Jedi's blue blade at his waist as Asminys pivoted, catching the end of the Jedi's saber close to his waist in the lower third of his guard, the tip of his own blade angled perilously at the Jedi's leading left shoulder as Asminys sought to force the Jedi's enhanced momentum to betray him and skewer him through the arm.

Not waiting around to see the result, he released his hold on the Jedi's helm as his left hand scooped the second saber from his left waist, thumb down and palm out as the crimson blade ignited towards the floor. His right saber would tilt to the left as he slashed left-to-right in a counterattack that likewise aimed to bisect the Jedi while his left hand saber's red blade twisted out to the left and angle downwards as it came up in an uppercut like motion to capture the blue of the Jedi's blade and drive it further up and to the left away from his own body.

He of course felt the worming of the light in the back of his skull as his actions played out, a nagging distraction and displeasing presence that built slowly in a way not dissimilar to the sickness he had felt many years ago when he had been poisoned by the then young Darth Raze. His focus otherwise distracted until his counter attack, there was little he could do about the growing nausea that briefly began to take hold in his gut until he released the hold and counter-slashed. A guttural roar emerged from the depths of his chest as he slashed, his mental barriers raising around his body and mind as the hatred fueled cauldron of burning darkness rose within him to reject the Jedi's nauseating light.

-----

Asminys' Legionnaires would swiftly file out of the hangar and into the hallway outside where they blasted through a few Byblos Defense Force marines who tried to hold them. Traveling swiftly through the hallway, blasting camera's as they went, they would push towards the engineering section of the Gladiator.

"Jedi presence in the starboard hangar, Lord Asminys has engaged two Jedi in the hangar. 1st Legion platoon pushing forward to the objective." The ranking Legionnaire would report over the Sith battle comms as they filed out of the hangar. The veteran Eiattu PDF trooper let a flash of doubt linger in his mind as he wondered whether he should be warning the Sith that Jedi might be aboard before steeling his resolve. It didn't matter if he doubted their cause, he fought on the side of the Sith now and that meant a defeat for them likely meant his own death. The trooper very much preferred to be alive.

Things looked grim on her side of the console; the Sith fleet loomed overhead, but just as she was about to commit herself to the lone defence, more voices chimed into her comm. She exhaled quietly as the Astral Mantle pinged in, and she gave affirmative. "Good timing, kids. Flank and break 'em. BDF, requesting backup of twelve, rest standby."

"Copy that, Jaws, this is BDF Blue Leader, incoming to defend."

Twelve Starwings would prepare to take off for the inevitable assault, but it would take a moment Even she knew that. Still, she had to buy them some time and sow some chaos. "Blue Leader. One through six, engage with the Acquitens. Be mindful, she's coming in hard, and TIEs. The Force be with you." However, the cadre of Arrowheads seemed to direct its' ire towards the squadrons of assisting Jedi. Gritting her teeth, the ship spun and weaved in an expert ballet of evasive maneuvers like a fin through water around the threatening hailstorm of the assaulting fire of laser and missiles, narrowly avoiding their strike at the hard, fast evasion. Charging from the left flank of the Shrike to interrupt its' assault of the Jedi forces at her full 70MGLT, Vera was prepared, calm even.

As she would descend, she would give a hailing strike of her ion cannon, followed by a heavy barrage of turret fire to the Arrowheads before breaking away suddenly, diving to maneuver out of possible return fire, and preparing for a return strike. She'd have to be mindful of the other ships as well, the Sith weren't going to hold back and neither was she.

Despite the high stress of engaging the enemy, she felt oddly calm. If this was her path to meeting Max again, it wasn't the worst way to go. But not yet. No, she had one last thing to say, if it was the last thing she could say.

Given that Sevrin had already taken measures with the Force to slow the impacts of the hold on his head, it didn’t work as quickly as intended. This was doubly true as the Sith Lord was also under the impacts of malacia that was actively taking a stronger hold on him.

But Sevrin operated differently.

The Sephi had been planning on a pivot after a saber engagement, but he hadn’t banked on the Sith Lord jerking him to the right with the Force. In order to move him bodily around while he came at the Sith Lord with Force speed, it would take focus and concentration and therefore less focus on the Malacia. Sevrin gave into that spin and overcorrected it himself and boosted himself with Force speed already enhancing his movement to send him gracefully spinning on the axis set forth by the Sith Lord.

This meant that his blade wouldn’t intercept the Sith, and he spun blindingly fast and dropped to a crouch as he did so, following the very motion the Sith sent him on as if he released a top. Sevrin’s blade was held horizontally the entire time as he dropped, and the move would potentially allow for one of two outcomes.

One, it would potentially cut clean through both unprotected legs of the Sith Lord at slightly above the knees. With the Sith's right saber having been coming in at a vertical upper angle to block, it was too out of range to be useful. This would also happen before he had the chance to draw his second saber as the man was already under the dizzying effects of Malacia. Even if he managed to retrieve the blade, Sevrin’s saber would horizontally be there to clash against it.

Two, if the leg severing attempt didn’t work, Sevrin’s saber was still held horizontally and in position to deflect any saber moves coming his way from above. Even if the Sith lord spun his blade down to counter him, it would be caught by Sevrin’s blade. Same would apply for the second saber.

Regardless of outcome, Sev unleashed a wave of electricity at the Sith Lord’s lower body as he dropped and spun with his blade. This was all in concert with Vahn giving his focus on using malacia on the Sith Lord. With his focus split, it would be near impossible for the Sith to fight.

Pedee noticed Tiamat was with them when she spoke. It was nice seeing her again, having worked with her before. She was a new Sith Lord too? It was an for honor to fight to fight besides such distinguished women in the Sith.

In the next corridor, Pedee would charge with speed towards the enemy, as the Dathomiri woman was using her magicks, Pedee had a more direct approach. While the locals were battling the Sith troopers, Pedee closed the distance quick to one of the the enemy soldiers and punched him in the face. Cold, hard phrik-laden fists would smash through the trooper's helmet, breaking it's visor, smashing his skull in. She caught the attention of another trooper who would be about to fire on her, but Pedee didn't move in slow motion by any means, she simply delivered that trooper a spin kick, knocking out the trooper. The flesh is weak.

Now that Pedee had some fun, she would then form up back with Andruil staying the course. Other Sith can deal with the rest of the locals. Pedee receive a communications from Stolas (@Mr. Teatime), him needing a report. "Pedee here. Boarding squad has made it on the crusier. We've disembarked and are making our way to the bridge" she said over her chassis' integrated comms.

As Pedee would be keeping pace with the Dathomiri lady, Pedee would then hear another communication on the Sith battle comms not long after. If she had an eyebrow, she would raise them "Jedi are on board?" she echoed. Pedee would then draw both of her swords. This could be interesting... One of them was reported on the hangar, but where there is one, there could be more. Pedee would be sure to be alert and cautious, she now has blades ready for if she has to fight lightsaber wielders.

Vahn’s relaxed, calm hand, guiding his focus on The Force slowly tensed, fingers curling into a fist. His brow furrowed with effort, and he grimaced under the tinted face shield of his flight helmet. The Sith Lord was powerful. It was like trying to lasso a krayt dragon, like trying to pin a star and he was certain that anything but his full control would have been broken by that sudden defensive roar to push him out, but he held on, even if his control was frayed at the edges in those moments. Sevrin's assault gave him the opening to regroup, gather his strength and press forward once more.

“I am one with the Force, and the Force is with me,” he chanted to himself again and again, honing his senses, tightening his willpower into an iron vice around the Sith Lord in his grasp.

Vahn had always been very sensitive to the fine motions of The Force; the subtle motions and pooling of energy, and the constant cycle of life, and death. Of the three pillars of the Force he had been taught, Potency, Control, and Sensitivity, he was always sharpest with the third. Malacia wasn’t a simple trick; it required a fine knowledge of the inherent motions of the Force, and his own Sensitivity served him well. He employed this talent to brutal effect, gritting his teeth as he poured more and more of his will into the Sith Lord’s very physiology. He held on against the storm-like current of the Sith’s will and rage, and he pushed hard, twisting the Sith Lord’s own innate energies as he bowed his head in concentration. He put everything into this moment, all of his training, all of his willpower, his love of life and his Family, the Jedi. Through The Force he was radiant, drinking deep and plunging himself into the currents of life itself. His heart pounded, and a smile crept onto his face despite his efforts.

The Sith Lord could see it, feel it all laid bare now through their sudden connection; joy, love, protection, healing and even serenity. The laughter of a starborne family across the stars, all of his sorrow, grief and loss, through to the joy of finding new members of his family. All of the things that made Vahn, Vahn when he was his best self, every part of his story could be felt through this connection. They all came together to give him the strength he needed. He was open, his truest self exposed in waves to every Force Sensitive in that desolate hangar as the battle raged in orbit around them. In this moment, in this single crystalline second, he was the very antithesis of everything the Sith represented. He would stop them. He would stop them with every fiber of his being, every breath in his lungs, and every pulse of his heart. No matter what it cost him. Arminys’ mistake was not recognizing who was truly the greatest danger to him. It wasn’t the cool-headed, perfect poised, expertly skilled Sephi Jedi dueling with him. It was Vahn, the scared, small, lucky kid from the slums of Taris who knew what it was like to have their family violently torn away by petty tyrants, tyrants like the Sith, and would do anything to put an end to that.

The effect would start to run away at this point, building and calcifying, growing like life itself in the Sith’s mind and body. Uninterrupted, Asminys would feel his stomach muscles tensing, surging in rebellion to splatter the ground in his last meal. The world would spin for him, his very equilibrium disturbed by the Knight’s subtle twisting of mind and body. In this moment his muscles would be spasming, surging illness degrading the Sith Lord’s ability to defend against Sevrin’s assault. Eventually, it would be hard to stand, let alone fight. He kept pressing. He poured everything, every part of himself into this moment, and finally, eventually, he would be able to bear down on the Sith’s blood pressure, eroding his pulse in small parts at first, to slowly build as the seconds creep on.

“Do it, Sev.” Vahn growled.

Tiamat lagged a few paces behind Renfry as they moved further into the ship toward the bridge. She could hear the blaster fire echo through the halls as they drew closer, troops already moving ahead of them to engage in the firefight before their Sith commanders. The darkside followed along her step and though there was the anxiety of anticipation of the fight to come, there was also a calm as she was centered in the storm. She could feel the Force shift as Renfry engaged in the enemy troops and her own saber ignited with the distinct snap-hiss as a soldier tried taking a shot at the seemingly unarmed women.

The bolt was deflected back, burning through the being's visor as she carried onward; she saw Renfry duck out of sight for a moment, and Pedee announced an alert there were Jedi on board. Tiamat's blade had melted through a soldier's arm and through her chest as she momentarily used them as a shield while others shot at her. With a blast from her palm, the body flew back into the enemy defenses and the Sith troops swarmed to further immobilize them.

Tiamat followed Renfry and Pedee through the new exit as it would lead them to the bridge of the ship; her senses perked to the feeling of urgency as she turned swiftly to swat a blaster bolt back at its owner, deterring the soldier from firing again and retreating back to regroup with others, possibly the Jedi if they were close to the bridge.

Sitting in the control room, Darmus was able to observe everything. It was hectic, sure, and Byblos marines were hurriedly send to chokepoints to keep the boarding parties from vital areas, but Darmus knew better than to focus on the regulars. Like him, they didn't make the difference.. no, Darmus knew to focus on those carrying lightsabers and using the Force.

As such he noticed two Sith and a droid (@Phoenix, @GABA, @The Good Doctor) make their way through a corridor, heading towards the bridge and engaging with defense forces before one of them cut themselves through to another corridor. For a moment this stunned Darmus and the other men in the control room, for a ship never had superfluous corridors and this Sith probably succeeded based on a one-in-a-thousand chance. It was incredible. She could've sliced her lightsaber straight into a sewage pipe and forced to drink the liquefied feces of a couple thousand people. Maybe next time, right? The old ranger could only hope.

Elsewhere Sith legionnares were heading further into the ship from the hangar bay, seemingly heading down to engineering. It was remarkable that all these Sith seemed to know the ship schematics like the back of theirs hands, thinking they'd have time to kill cameras before they were spotted. It wasn't as effective as they hoped and their movements were tracked well enough to direct them right into an ambush. They'd find a couple of closed blast doors and round a corner to flashbangs and a hail of blasterfire. They were well-trained, but badly outnumbered to be running around on a destroyer like this.

Darmus' focus was on the Sith, however, and he quickly checked their position with the ship's schematics. They really were going to the bridge, but wait.. fire and collision drills were a serious thing on vessels like this, so it wasn't like there wasn't anything he could do them in a seemingly empty corridor. The Sector Ranger quickly turned towards the control board and flipped some switches, closing two blast doors that were designed to close fast in case of mid-space collision. The two Sith and the droid would see a door about twenty feet in front of them close and if they turned around they would see the same thing happening behind them, blocking any of the Sith marines to join them. This effectively trapped the trio, for there were no junctions and the two doors in their section of the corridor both lead to NCO quarters.

"Missiles inbound boys! Under the 'Arkie's' bridge and then yank up! Let's make them shoot their own ship!" Drow commed over to the E-Wing pilots. Like him, each fighter was currently being targeted by homing missiles. An annoying obstacle to have to deal with in a space battle but one that you could turn in your favor...if you knew how to fly. And Drow and the Pamarthan pilots definitely knew how to fly.

Drow pulled hard on the stick, sending his Y-Wing in the direction of the Arquitens. The old bird might not be fast but she was still decently maneuverable. Since Drow was no longer taking the same course and had rapidly switched directions, Stolas' fire went wide and missed but the Ishi Tib Jedi was now aware that he had some pursuants.

Golds 1-4 followed, having already grouped up on Drow as per his last orders, and any other E-Wings with missiles on their tails soon joined them - all of them heading for the frigate. Like any other Arquitens, the Sith frigate had an elevated bridge, which meant that fighters could fly under it. Drow's plan was for all the E-wings to fly under that bridge and then yank up sharply once they'd gone underneath. The missiles that were following them would of course, adjust their flight path accordingly and wind up slamming into the bridge - hit from their own allies. And, even better, it looked as though the Arquitens was so busy engaging with the Gladiator that a bunch of small fighters would be able to make this run with minimal trouble.

Or at least, they would have been able to had it not been for that damn Arrowhead. He thought quickly and waited until the missile coming at his own ship was just at the right angle. Then he rotated his ion cannon and fired it at the missile before banking hard and heading for the underbelly of the frigate. The ion cannon fried the missile's systems and navigation. It didn't stop the missile completely - just essentially turned it into a dumb fired missile. Without tracking technology, the thing would now continue sailing straight until colliding into the nearest object...which hapened to be the Arquitens since Drowshifted had banked out of the way.

"Stay on course, Gold Squadron. I'm going underneath to draw those fighters." Drow radioed to his team, having already changed directions to fly underneath the Arquitens. The other E-Wings would continue flying under the Arquitens bridge and yank up, sending the missiles careening into it while Drow would fly underneath the frigate's underbelly. If Stolas continued to pursue, he'd be left with a choice; pursue the E-Wings and protect the bridge from a barrage of missiles or go after Drow and his payload.

The Jedi Order host flew through the open space as the Sith foe responded to meet the fast approaching enemy. First to meet and then cross were the hail of missiles and laser fire at their maximum distance. Numerous contrails billowed momentarily from the Sith raider and and the following warning would tell the Astral Mantle of the incoming threat. Someone over the battlegroup shouted about the obvious payload of ordinance headed their direction. The ships were not silent. Their own engagements beginning with violent provocation.

Byron felt in the web of battle before him which openings in the realm of possibility which would keep him alive. The incoming missiles from the Sakor would be targeting the present small craft. Thankfully they wouldn't have been able to lock onto the Y-TIE until they launched at a closer range. Just as planned, they disembarked rapidly and pulled ahead of Little Wing as the refitted capital ship opened up its batteries on the arquitens. The Sith command frigate was engaged with the Gladiator and was getting a response from the BDF to the best of their ability.

While the elongated hull of The Little Wing bore heavy deflector shields that rippled as it was struck from the first successfully aimed shots of the Sokar. Pulling up, it planned to fly over the Lone Digger and put it in between it and the Sokar. Two dual turbo lasers and four dual laser cannons were not much compared to the other capital ships present but made up for it in speed and playing the taxi to the light bombers. The added protection having given them an extra bit of safety to close the distance with the arcquitens. Launching from the hangar, one ship would be immediately obliterated as it took a turbo laser blast meant for the corvette. The rest however accelerated and fired off half their payload of proton torpedos to the command frigate.

Byron's cloak shape dipped and jerked as a missile narrowly went over his ship. However he knew it wasn't going to be that easy. That raider class corvette was problem. Thankfully the s, with both the gladiator and the corellian corvette and the bombers focusing, Byron didn't see it lasting very long. Arrowhead fighters and TIEs chased the E-wings and defense force fighters like a cloud of angry dancing flies. Blooms of fire from missile exploding and ships spinning out happened in the blink of an eye. His own evasive maneuvers took him away from the Ranger's blastboat to avoid the missile's tracking.

Byron wasn't slowing down in his manueverings and ordinarily the ship would have been hard for most people to handle. But the quick reaction timing and earned experience behind the controls had the starfighter become an extension of his own body. Having actually been slowed, to keep pace with the blastboat, Byron let the Astral Mantle achieve maximum speed and accelerate to reach it as fast as possible. He would need every bit off speed he had.

Time seemed to move more slowly when fates hung in the balance. Live reports from the bridge poured into their secure coms as the Jedi disembarked. The Sith were pushing towards the bridge. Onboard marines dutifully stood in their way, but it would not last. They were no match for the boarding force. Luckily, the Jedi had brought a true strike team of their own. Two Masters, two Knights, and powerful desire to right far too many recent wrongs.

The moment the bridge indicated the Sith were moving forward, Alex headed in their general direction. She pulled the Force within herself, suppressing her Force signature. “Quietly.” She assumed her fellow Jedi would take the hint and do the same. (@Wit @Die Shize @Isen) There was no need to fully announce their arrival. They still had the element of surprise given the boiling nature of the Force throughout the ship. It would be difficult to pick out separate Force signatures. Thankfully, the Jedi had the advantage of real time video footage…they did not need the Force.

The team traveled quickly towards the fighting. Guided by the helpful voices from the bridge. When the Sith cut the hole in the wall, they were alerted to change their course. They had been getting close and there was no avoiding what they were about to face. They were here for one reason.

Similarly, the call came through when the blast doors enclosed the Sith. The Jedi team arrived mere moments after the doors closed, rounding the nearest corner to avoid being seen. The marines had peeled off to the heavier fighting. Although, the Jedi strike team had picked up a few hangers on to cover their back. (@christhebetrayer)

Alex and her companions had a general sense of what they faced on the other side. Two Sith and a droid. The hallway was about 15 feet wide, and the intruders were in the middle of about a 40-foot block. She quickly spoke into the com when she was 10 feet from the doors. “On my mark.” They wasted no time…the Jedi were in sync…arrayed before the door. “Now.” The entire sequence happened moments after the doors sealed closed.

The door before the Jedi only snapped open. Alex struck out the moment the door was opening, aided by the descriptions from the bridge. Her companions would strike out at the same moment. With all the strength she could muster, Alex would rapidly wrap the Force around the red hair Sith and yank as hard as she could. (@GABA) The action should come as a complete surprise given the suddenness, leaving the Sith vulnerable to the attack. There was almost no way for the small group to prepare for the Jedi's surprise arrival. If Tiamat was successful pulled forward, the blast door would slam shut the moment she was past the threshold. Of course, Alex was not so foolish as to ignore the other two in the room should their surprise assault fail.

cyrene had heard over comms they're were sith and jedi aboard the ship, she couldn't help but smile beneath her mask. She never hunted force users before, she heard stories of their "force" powers that allowed them to do miraculous things like the jedi before them.

with help of the bridge, she had run into the jedi who were hunting the sith aboard the vessel, she wasn't going to let them grab the sith by themselves, so she joined the merry band of jedi.

With communication from the bridge and the locking of doors, they had managed to corner the sith and set a trap. she posted up alongside Alex, crouching down next to her using her knee to help stablise her pistol while aimed where her target should be. as the door opened she took aim at the red hair Sith (@GABA), losing two stun bolts aimed at her chest as Alex would pull her towards them.

If Tiamat was successful pulled forward and the doors closed behind her Cyrene would activate her comlink to the bridge to command them to lock the door.

The dances of light before the Sakor dazzled the eyes of Venthis Habrak, each burst reflecting off of the whites of his eyes like a display of light in a Birilian ballet. Battering explosions and ripples of fighters meeting disaster and scores more racing in retribution as the collision of forces commenced in a display of sentient barbarism that the blackness of space had seen a million times, and would see million times more.

But the destructive power was nothing compared to the stars themselves. And the memory of those stars ran on for eternity.

Bridge officers called out behind and around Habrak what he already knew. Fighters incoming. Sensors compensating. Advanced tracking online. Squadron in pursuit. Reactor function normal. Shields holding firm. All batteries firing. Formation maintained.

Familiar ships were called out. E-wing. Cloakshape. Blackfin. Starwing. Tie Fighter.

Expected ranges were announced. "Bow mark Five Zero. Bow mark Four Zero. Bow mark Three Zero."

"They can't help themselves." Habrak thought to himself, blinking as he watched scores of fighters racing in, each being chased by a concussion missile. Habrak looked to the Lone Digger that drifted just beside the Sakor and could see the enemies plan unfolding before they were even close to range.

"Fire ten missile volley four degrees aft of the Lone Digger."

All of the missiles approached the Lone Digger, her bridge and shields no doubt in tact. The missiles were then rapidly gaining on the exact flight path of the fighters they pursued. The ten missiles launched to the rear of the Lone Digger were an unfortunate and timely trap for the adversaries tactic.

Some of the missiles continued tracking, some lost their targets and moved away. Some struck the bridgeBut some continued their acceleration.

Their elegant acceleration until beautiful impact upon their targets.

Brilliant light of the explosions rippled in the darkness, dazzling and horrible all at the same time.

Yet Habrak kept his mind on his mission. The clarity of his target never left his gaze, and the moves of this prey giving away its intentions even as it reached its range.

"Elevate our position to mark one alpha six." Habrak ordered. At once the view before him twisted with the Sakor rising and shifting right. It never lost it's eye on the target. Never ceased its gaze for a moment. Never blinked for a second. The tip of the Sakor remained pointed directly at the CR100, like an arrow pointed to its mark, as that enemy moved to cover its bombers to the Lone Digger.

"Fire full volley on that corvette."

The Sakor had remained directly at level with the CR100 its entire flight, and watched its attachment of bombers rally their way into the cross fire. Caught directly over the Lone Digger from below, and with the Sakor at their starboard pouring its full measure, the vessel and its compliment would be unlikely to survive.

"Such ancient tactics." Habrak thought. "They can't help themselves."

The group was full of confidence. The stench of the Dark Side could be felt on the ship, but the Jedi strike team plus a Sector Ranger provided enough numbers and firepower that they were feeling downright....bold. At least the Kiffar Jedi felt that way. Isen traversed the halls and corridors of the ship with eyes focused, standing upright, a steely gaze in his eyes.

With the control room keeping the team up to date with the location of the Sith invaders and providing the Jedi with the quickest route to intercept them, it was easy for Isen to focus on dampening his Force signature, and in fact it gave him something to concentrate on instead of getting worked up and excited about the prospects of imminent confrontation.

When the crew rounded the corner to the closed door, the team knew what stood behind it, trapped, stuck...at least momentarily. They were Sith, however, and wouldn't be stuck in one place for long. The wide hallway allowed all four Jedi and the ranger to get an open and clean look in front of them. Isen's lightsaber zipped from his belt to his hand and he held it at his side, the blade unignited.

“On my mark....Now," Master Volan said.

While she was trying to pull the redheaded sith through the door, Isen's job was to prevent the other Sith Lord from providing a defense for the Sith attempted to be yanked back through the door. He didn't have to win- he simply had to keep the tattooed Sith occupied. Immediately as the door opened on Master Voran's command, Isen gave a full throttle Force push, sending it out of his left palm. He condensed the invisible Force projectile to be like a frisbee, hurling hard and fast at the tattooed Sith's torso ( @Phoenix ). It was a surprise attack, practically simultaneous with the opening of the door. His right hand held his lightsaber hilt waist-high in front of him, ready to ignite for any purpose that may be necessary.

With the sudden nature of the attack, it would be hard for anyone to react quickly enough to prevent it from hitting it's mark. If the targeted Sith tried to protect against her partner being yanked through the door to the team of Jedi and ranger, Isen's attack would almost certainly disrupt it, slamming hard into her torso. If she had the lightning reflexes to react to Isen's attack, she would almost certainly have to leave the redheaded Sith to fend for herself.

Vayla followed Alex’s lead, masking her Force signature. The further the group moved the more aware the knight became of the darkness seeping through the ship. She did not need to pinpoint what cameras could but that just made it all seem like a poisonous mist. Or a shadow. Gripping her hilt and her nerves, she pressed onward.

After absorbing Ranger Nilar into their number, Vayla went over the plan in her head. She thought about those Sith and how they would fall, farther than they already had. Senseless. Whatever else happened in the moments to come, one thing was for certain: those Sith behind that door would not leave this ship the same way they had come in.

Then the door opened and judgment came with it.

Master murdered, padawan gone, the galaxy bleeding and screaming, and at the center of it all like a black hole? The Sith. In their hate and rage they swarmed over the stars and souls like a plague of locusts. It was long past time to wipe that plague from the sky. Holding her saber-hilt in her right hand, Vayla channeled such desire into her, allowing her need for justice to merge with a burning zeal and manifest itself by flying from her fingertips.

Her left hand shot forward in unison with her teammates. Bolts of energy escaped down the exposed corridor. They forked and streamed as instantly as a Sith’s lightning would have, only this Jedi’s were more orange than blue. She might have hoped that her electric judgment would find flesh and bone and punish the body, but such was not her target. Her attack had come for the P1-DS3 droid (@The Good Doctor ).

That droid had a number of useful features to it but it still had a metal shell and whatever circuits or wires were beneath it. In the fashion of such lightning, the attack would at least incapacitate the droid if not more, stunning it long enough so that it could not meddle in the affairs of the Jedi as they worked to secure the droid’s master.

Determination, purpose, confidence, she felt it among the other Jedi as they moved through the ship. And as they passed others she sensed it in them as well, a light that lit up within them as the flames of hope were kindled. But for herself, she felt only a need. A need to do the right thing, to fight, to protect.

But as the blast doors opened, the need wasn't enough. Standing a few feet behind the others, Vinry froze at the first sight of the Sith. Her memory went back to Ajan Kloss. Then the world exploded into action and he need was replaced with something else, purpose. She had to protect them, and that meant taking action. As Alex pulled one of the Sith, the rangers standing off to the side ready to take aim at the Sith, Vinry no longer had the luxury of worrying about her own needs. They were fighting, and she had to make sure no one else fell. Not on her watch, not ever. They were five, the enemy three, but that was not enough. Separating them improved their odds further, and to accomplish that Vinry had to prevent the other Sith from moving to help.

One of the Knights, Isen she thought he was called, attacked the other Sith. And a moment later Vinry responded as well. Her right hand rose in front of her and the Force flowed through her as she reached out across the distance between them to grip the second Sith with the Force, holding her in place (@Phoenix). Force Stasis the masters had called it, but to her it was simply what she needed to do to protect everyone.

Darth Asminys was an expert with the lightsaber, but the Jedi was good. More importantly his mind was under assault, waves of nausea pounded against his skull as he tried to swing his sabers. It was to no avail. His blades met air as the Jedi spun under them and then he smelt burnt flesh. At first there was no sensation, and then pain. Pain all too familiar as he was once more in the Cadre halls, fighting in the arena. Bit by toxic blades that burned and numbed. His legs were weightless, refused to obey his commands as he toppled backwards.

But the pain faded, replaced by one thing.

Rage.

A guttural roar more beast than man escaped his throat, low at first but rising as he fell backwards, twisting to get eyes on the Jedi that had wounded him. There was no thought except hate. The crashing waves of blood pounding in his skull didn't matter as the sabers fell from his hands. The bile rising in his throat was an afterthought as he raised both hands towards the Jedi.

Crackling red lightning burst forth from his fingertips as he landed on his back against the steel deck, an outpouring of hatred that shot forth to embrace the Jedi. Pure hatred expressed through red agony that would engulf the Jedi as Darth Asminys' eye's flared with fiery darkness. Holding the hatred and pouring it through his fingers for as long as he could, the pounding in his head could no longer be resisted and his malice filled eyes finally rolled back into his head as consciousness fled the Sith Lord.

His last vision was the Jedi consumed by his lightning, and his own legs standing comically on their own, boots fused to the deck plate by the Jedi's own lightning.
