Also, I recognize that this is still a WIP, but what is powering those Ion Cannons?

I would expect that they would need an individual power source per weapon, which (correct me if I'm wrong) those need massive amount of power. Would a single asteroid be large enough to house the weapon and the generator? Even then, I'd expect that the power source would be detectable be sensors and could be picked off from a distance.

Also, is your intent to use the repulsors on the asteroids to prevent them crashing into each other? I suppose that makes sense so that you could prevent losing resources, but wouldn't those repulsors need power as well? That's devoting a lot of your resources into maintaining this "defense"

On that note, I'd like to bring up the issue of those asteroids. Is the field held together using tractor beams? Repulsors could be used to keep them from hitting each other, but considering your proximity to a black hole, it wouldn't be incredibly long for them to fall in If they're bumped any. I if it is being held by tractor beams, they would all have to be held to a fixed point, I.E. the station. If they lost connection with it, the grid would become virtually useless as the asteroids free floating tried to keep other asteroids in line.

Finally, how did those asteroids get there? Black Holes are usually devoid of things like asteroids due to their intense gravity.

I will elaborate on that. And thank you for the tractor beam bit. I imagine the asteroid were created when two extrasolar planetary captures collided. The black, little does the galaxy know, was created from Aegis' first attempt at dividing by zero

This board isn't really meant to be used as a workshop for next timeline. A lot of members are still actively submitting content for this timeline here, and these write-ups are sort of giving a weird mixed message that I'd rather not let spread any further. Furthermore, this board's contents will be archived upon the change of timeline, which make it unsuitable for the purpose of creating a template before the timeline begins anyway.

Not to mention that faction guidelines are changing, and creating an independant faction write-up right now is kind of jumping the gun.

If you really want to workshop ideas for next timeline, then probably the best way to do so is to do it on a Word document on your local computer. The site is still very much in the current timeline, and I'd like for the focus to remain as such.

Locked.
