The Pit of Carkoon

A famed and terrifying place, the Pit of Carkoon on Tatooine, long since obliterated by the Bounty Hunter Boba, has lent its name to a new place of 'business', a Palace on Nar Kanji. Ruled by Bulja Caraka, a Twi'lek owner of the Fighting Pits, Nar Kanji would make a fine addition to the Hutt domains. As such, a group shall head meet Bulja, and hold a JubJub, a traditional Hutt business meeting, the prize? The fighting pits themselves.

Nar Kanji was a bleak outer rim planet, and it showed from the moment one landed. Hope to the Jablogian species, it had been a Hutt colony in ages past, its human colonists placed into chains to serve at the behest of their Hutt masters. Yet, following a period of unrest in the Hutt cartels, the world was thrown into disarray, and the Kanjiklub took over. Soon they operated across the galaxy, the slaves from Nar Kanjis fighting pits becoming in-demand enforcers across the galactic underworld. The Kanjiklubbers felt that nothing could stop them.

But the Hutts do not forget slights to their power easily. Decades merged into centuries, and finally the Hutts decided to make their move. Bulja Caraka, owner of the famed fighting pits of Nar Kanji would make the ideal target. Supreme Mogul, Nor'baal Desilijic Fa'athra wasted no time, sending his daughter, Moghra Desilijic Drooga, accompanied by a mercenary droid, the deadly IG-178 to the planet, with orders to return the fighting pits to Desilijic control.

Now, it was over to the pair to see the job done.

Moghra Desilijic Drooga had long heard the name Nar Kanji, a world that her father spoke of often when he was deep into his cups as his anger about the subject gradually increased. The rants were usually forgotten by the time the Grand Mogul awoke, it was nonetheless a sore spot to the clan. When an opportunity arose to bring it back into the fold of the Hutt Cartel, and more importantly Clan Desilijic... Moghra was practically salivating at the idea.

Not literally of course, not at all.

Moghra dabbed a silken kerchief against the swell of her ruby painted lips as she was carried by palanquin through the streets of Nar Kanji to the Pit of Karkoon, born aloft by a dozen slaves who held the privilege of carrying her form. The Hutt palanquin was flanked by a dozen Gamorreans guards, six on each side. The palanquin was preceded by a pair of drummers and a herald bearing a brass horn, their music ringing through the streets to draw the attention of all to the Hutt who had graced the world with her presence. A slave also marched at each corner of the palanquin, bearing banners so all could know who was honoring their streets with her presence.

Many eyes followed the Hutt through the streets, many eyes that squinted in awe. They were definitely not glaring in hatred, that would be foolish. Moghra ignored their attention, lesser beings that they were as her mind remained focused on the task at hand. Nar Kanji and its great fighting pits had once belonged to the Desilijic and she was determined that they do so again. Her brother was somewhere else on world, doing something else towards that end, which meant she was free of his presence for the time being. She brought the tip of her hookah to her lips, inhaling the pleasant tasting smoke and letting it filter out of her nostrils as they approached the entrance to the fighting pits.

"Bmeheka mee mi maee see mee bmalewa an pomoduala, IG- domon bohokeecha." Moghra spoke at last as they grew near their destination, her attention turning to the mercenary droid her father had hired to fight in the name of the Desilijic. Perhaps the Kanjiklub owner of the Pit of Karkoon would feel insulted that the Hutt had brought a droid to fight instead of a flesh and blood being, but perhaps he should. So arrogant as to think that the planet didn't belong to the Hutt's despite their ancient claim to the world. Just in case they were overly offended, Moghra also had a blaster pistol tucked under one of the many cushions that surrounded her on the palanquin.

IG-178 had been walking next to the palanquin, the droid’s sensors diligently scanning the immediate neighbourhood as it walked along with the Hutt cavalcade, its sensors continually alert for any potential threat. The droid was wearing a long black cloak that was billowing in the desert wind generated by the two Tatooine suns.

As it made its way through the bustling street, Moghra's curiosity was piqued when they neared the fighting pits, asking the droid about its capabilities. Without hesitating, IG-178 replied in its metallic voice, "I am equipped with state-of-the-art weaponry and defence systems. I am covered in duranium armour plating making me heavily resistant to damage. My sensors and processors can detect the slightest variations in temperature, sound and movement, including infrared visual sensors allowing me to see in the dark. My programming is designed to analyse and respond to any situation in the most efficient way. I have been programmed to cause harm in the most effective manner. I am also equipped with a variety of tools that can be used for defence or offence depending on the situation."

Moghra listened quietly as the metallic voice of the IG droid began to warble an answer, the cavalcade continuing on its way to its destination. The music and drums made it a bit difficult to hear the droid, but Moghra got the gist of it's words.

"X'hoo. Dobra baiebe bai neu ritke kava che kouikei uba caiot nai kachu." Moghra said with a deep laugh before inhaling more smoke through the stem of the hookah. She imagined the droid could snap limbs and shatter bones with ease and was looking forward to the spectacle.

Behind the procession that carried the hutt travelled a skiff, slow on its repulsor's that billowed dust from the street as it kept the slow speed of the marching slaves. Aboard the skiff were a handful more guards, including some of her father's most recent reactivation, the Kougine Lohba. Also aboard the skiff were various gifts for their hosts and a variety of food stuffs, along with a personal chef for the feast portion of the Jub Jub.

The procession finally came to a stop in front of the Pit of Karkoon. The music stopped as the guards flanking the large, wide doors of the establishment eyed them warily. Moghra's herald stepped forth, and the drummers set into a low, slow beat as the man spoke loudly.

"I present, Moghra Desilijic Drooga. Scion of the Kajidi of the Desilijic Clan, Nor'baal Desilijic Fa'athra. Daughter of the Supreme Mogul of the Hutt Clans. Her grandness has come to meet with your master Bulja Caraka to negotiate trade and treaty in a formal Jub Jub, may he be honored by her supreme presence." The herald spoke, his words accentuated by the beating of the drums. Bulja had agreed to the meeting beforehand, now it was his chance to uphold the agreement. Either way, Moghra intended to take control of the Pit of Karkoon for herself, and the family. Either by trade or through force.

A subordinate of Bulija, dressed in a regal, white garb that glittered in the light, stepped out from behind the grand doors to address Moghra. His voice was filled with reverence and admiration as he said, "Greetings, your grandness. It is an honor to receive you here today. My master Bulija Caraka awaits you inside. He will be delighted to receive you for the JubJub." He bowed his head in respect, and stepped aside, extending a gracious arm towards the entrance in invitation.

IG-178 scanned the large entrance carefully, noting the impressive number of guards that stood at attention, their weapons gleaming brightly in the light of the twin suns. Its keen optics observed that each guard was in full armour and armed with blasters and other advanced weaponry. Whatever lay beyond was sure to be of the utmost importance.

The entrance was adorned with a large holographic sign that read "The Pit of Carkoon", with a design depicting the entrance to the underground chamber. Standing beneath the sign was a small group of protocol droids, ready to welcome the honoured guest.
