"Noah(@Noah Jacen )!" He dived into the trench after him, his back slamming against the dug wall. Reese's jaw was tightly closed as his eyes flicked around the clearing. His movements were sporadic and jumpy, but admittedly were a little more composed than before. "What do you military types do now? We're pinned down! Make a change! You're the commander, right?"

Noah pressed himself further into the sandbags, the fire from the machine impacting closer and closer, rounds zooming just in front of his face as he breathed rapidly. He was scared. He was bloody well fecking terrified. Fear is just another thing you need to get used to in a gunfight, but it never went away. He heard a break in the machinegun fire and peaked over the sandbags. 30 meters at most was the distance. Reese spoke to him. He heard a collective roar as at least a hundred men charged through the quagmire of debris. They were his men. They were fighting now, on a planet they'd probably never heard of, for a cause that most of the galaxy probably didn't care about. But they were fighting because no one else did.

"You know what, yeah. We make a charge." Noah rolled over and stood up. His rifle barked red plasma at the machinegunners as he mantled over the sandbags, a familiar Selonian hopping past him. "Ad Victoriam!" To Victory!

He charged with his men and found himself crossing the threshold of the pillars, stacking up on the door to the main foyer. The door was kicked in and men poured through. Slug fire and blaster bolts filled the air as men fell. The grand staircase up to the landing to the elevators was lined with rebels who cut down volunteers in the way. Noah kept Reese behind him as he shouldered his rifle and leveled it at the nearest heavy rebel gunner. He squeezed the trigger repeatedly as he cut down more and more rebels. ADI Marines moved with expert fluidity, though not without a couple casualties. Some of the armour absorbed the various blaster hits while others were cut down. He rolled and came up to a knee, firing another shot. A thermal detonator was thrown and the explosion rocked the upper landing. He sprinted full tilt as he reached the stairs, running up them and firing another shot into a nearby rebel. More troopers and volunteers poured into the foyer from outside, the battle moving into close quarters as shotguns were drawn and knives kept handy. The playing field inside would be far more level than out there.

Murray ran up the stairs to the next floor only to find the door locked. Ahh shit. He grabbed the door handle and with the assistance of the force, pushed the door off of its hinges. The door flew forward onto the floor. At that moment the elevator door on the opposite side of the building opened up. There stood a man who clearly had to be the leader of the Insurgents. As Murray began to extend the force to feel this anonymous villian, he sensed the man's strength, his passion for power, his desire to destroy those who interfered.

Murray aimed his blaster at the man and pulled the trigger only to hear a loud clang from the machine. Dead? Dropping the weapon Murray began to charge to the man. The man just grinned and stood as he watched his enemy charge.

Zeh Kando turned the corner. Spun. Fired two bolts into the chest of a PDF trooper. He fell to the ground as flamed licked at the blackened holes. He ran back down the hallway, hit the elevator. He went up a floor to move without being seen by the enemy. As he moved through the labyrinth of hallways, he realised that was not possible. A door crashed open down the hall and an ADI Marine in armour swung around the muzzle of a long shotgun. Zeh fired a bolt that struck the trooper squarely in the head, the limp body crumpling to the floor. Zeh jogged to the nearest elevator, hit the call button. The soft ping as the doors opened was delightfully ironic as the Zabrak stepped into the threshold. He went down one floor, adjusted his goggles.

The soft ping rang again as the door opened and Zeh heard intense gunfire as he stepped out, looked to either side. A tall, dark haired man had stopped and seen Kando. The two of them raised their weapons, took aim and pulled the triggers of dead weapons. The opponent threw his rifle to the side, breaking into a run at Zeh. The Zabrak gave a wicked grin and charged down the man, the two now running at each other full-tilt.

Out of nowhere, a stun round struck the human, his body flopping and sliding to Zeh's confused feet. He had been so focused on his opponent that he hadn't noticed the soft ping of another elevator. Yool stood poised with her sniper rifle shouldered, the barrel smoking. Zeh was speechless as he looked at her with intense confusion.

"We're leaving, now." She sounded very seriously concerned as she slung her rifle and drew her blaster pistol. "Gorgo is bringing the chopper, let's go."

"But then they win! How can we allow that?!" Zeh was furious as he pulled down the bandana and lifted up his goggles. His eyes burned with anger at his stolen conquest, but he couldn't stay mad at Yool. Not forever.

"We are already at the point of no return..." She pointed out simply. Past the window was the buffeting of the blades of a helicopter, the turbine engines of a VTOL dropship. None of these were ADI vehicles, as ADI only brought space-borne ships and shuttle. "If we evacuate now, we will have enough men to bring to the other strongholds for a counter-offensive." A civilian volunteer rounded the corner and Yool turned and fired with perfect timing. Zeh walked over and picked up his blaster, replacing it's power pack.

"So it's over?" He asked with a defeated feeling in his chest. "We lost?"

"No, we merely leave in the promise of future victory."

Within 10 minutes, half of the insurgent forces had pulled out of the Capitol. ADI were wrapping up the stragglers, licking their wounds. However, the fight was over.

For now.
