[Open to FWA Opposition]

Vaz stood on board his private Nightsweeper II-Class Star Yacht, his pilot team and a small security detachment standing with him. His hovering pram buzzed lightly as he floated about the lounge of the Yacht.

A moment later the Yacht detached from the Starhawk III-class Battleship, and headed down towards the planet's surface, it was an old moon, with old factories littered about its domed habitats.

This was a diplomatic mission, to discuss with what representataion existed on Telti if they wished to stay with Free Worlds Alliance or join the Republic. The diplomatic overtures required to arrange the meeting were simple, given the planet's small population and the lack of importance the planet held to the FWA.

The Battleship hanging in low orbit could be seen from the ground, and once Vaz's Yacht landed he hovered out of the ship and looked up to see just how much it was looming over them.

Vaz smiled as he was met with the low level staff that would shower him with pleasantries, and offers of refreshments and sustainance, to all Vaz would politely decline, he had made sure to eat beforehand and had properly hydrated as well, this diplomatic meeting was of importance, and needed not to be interrupted by something as trivial as eating or drinking.

The entire habitable area of the planet held the same decorative theme... industry.. even the room Vaz was ushered into was more of an employee break room than a home to diplomacy, it did not bother him however his Kuat held a similar ascetic.

It would be a short time, but finally whomever had been assigned, or whoever had drawn the short straw, to meet him arrived. Ah hello, it's a pleasure, thank you for agreeing to meet with me.. Vaz would say, his hovering pram keeping him about chest height on the average human so his eyeline met most other people's.

Nicolas arrived to the the meeting place beforehand, punctual as always, usually arriving early. This was a meeting to see if the people of the moon wanted to remain with the Free Worlds or jump ship to the Republic. There was still plenty of merit despite all that happened to remain with the Free Worlds rather than go to the Republic.

The Voice of New Alderaan rolled his eyes at the battleship that the Senator used to jump into the system. Nicolas wondered if this was an attempt to show off or some sort of intimidation tactic to entice the moon into joining the Republic. It's most likely the first but it could be both. Either way, it's a waste of starship fuel for a warship to come here for a diplomatic meeting.

When the Republic representative arrived, Nicolas recognized the Senator of Kuat, and they were really short. Small person, showing up in such a big ship...

Coming from the side, Nicolas would then greet the Kuati senator. "Well, hello there. Senator Vaz is it? Nice to meet you." Nicolas would raise a hand out for handshake like professional to his New Republic counterpart (if his hand his too large, he can just extend his index finger instead). Nicolas already did the usual formalies and greetings with the Telti delegation after arriving early.

Looks like meeting is about to be under way. Nicolas was prepared.

Vaz was somewhat taken aback to see @Nicolas Clément, the New Alderaan Senator meeting him here as the representative of Telti, Senator Clément, good to be meeting with you as well.. Vaz would say as he shook the man's finger, the prospect of which may have been odd for the New Alderaan Senator, but it was a typical part of every meeting for Vaz, as in the Galaxy very few beings were smaller than he, most, like @Nicolas Clément stood some five or six times his height.

Nicolas, it is good to see you, but I hope you'll forgive me for getting straight to business... Vaz would say pausing shortly to nod at the man, The state of the Galaxy is no secret, but I'd like to remove the shroud of today's meeting and lay out first hand that the primary reason for today's meeting is the assumption of Telti into the fold of the New Republic, I'd like to go over here what the benefits would be for Telti and its people, and perhaps even for yourself Senator.. Vaz explained.

Traditions, culture, and progress would be maintained, there would be no loss of self, however the gain, the intrinsic value of joining the New Republic is immense. We could provide a unified centralized military to prevent atrocities like the recent events of Kashyyyk, and provide security to everyone who calls Telti home. You no doubt saw my transport before you arrived here, and that's just one, we have many.. the benefits of joining the New Republic are not just militant, as the resources of the New Republic would be available as well, Telti could have it's own representation in the Senate, and... as a more recent development, any within the borders of the New Republic are now safe from the idea of a Sith assault, something I'm sure you Senator can find considerable, given the history of the original Alderaan.. I want to offer the people of Telti a chance to live free and give them a solid chance at happiness.. I'd like to understand, perhaps, what the people of Telti think of this prospect? If you would.. Vaz said.

The Nabierre, the Royal Starship of the Naboo, darted out of hyperspace, running a little late for the meeting. It touched down with haste, the Queen and a small retinue of handmaidens, departing the vessel and heading directly for the meeting room. She joined just as Nicolas, a member of the Alliance she had personally never met, began with his introductions. Adorned in the Royal regalia, she kept her expression calm as the diminutive Republic Senator, whom she had met, began his pitch.

She resisted the urge to roll her eyes as he ran through the benefits of being a member of the New Republic. Finally, it was her time to speak.

"Thank you for inviting me here today. I am pleased the represent the Consortium in today's talks." she smiled at the Telti representative before continuing "Senator Vaz, it is a pleasure to meet you outside of your more habitual setting, of selling off New Republic ships." she added, a snide remark that was almost certainly beneath her station as Queen.

"The Consortium can also provide a centralised military, it also can provide peace, stability and much more. A seat on the Senate, is not a novel concept, any of the factions represented here can do the same. However," she lifted her hand as if to punctuate her point "- what the Consortium can do, is bring you in to a growing faction, that has, from the very beginning, had the interests of all its members at heart, from Tatooine, to, perhaps, Telti. Rather than say, a focus on wealthy core worlds, seeking only to expand on their intergalactic exports." she added, gesturing to the Kuati representative, as she fell silent.

Telti was a moon in the otherwise unremarkable Sistooine system, a long-time and quite major manufacturing center of the Core worlds, particularly droids and weaponry. In fact, nearly the entire surface was covered in atmospheric domes filled with factories and the like. While the moon had its own local leadership and sense of governance, it was overall very corporate in its day-to-day running.

It should thus be little surprise the three other diplomats didn't get some factory manager or corporate yes-man entering the meeting room. At the room's opposite end, a lift softly dinged to announce its arrival. The doors slid open to reveal an
eagle-eyed older woman, who removed a pair of sunglasses and swiftly swept her gaze over the gathered diplomats before stepping into the room.

Classic black heels of middling length clacked sharpish as she approached in the middle of a back and forth that sounded as if they were trying to convince anyone listening of their own government's strengths. Couldn't have been meant for the Telti representative, since she hadn't formally arrived at the time. That, and one of them seemed to be addressing the Senator of New Alderaan.

Without giving the political posturing a second glance, the Telti representative approached a rectangular meeting table and pulled a chair out for herself at the end, removed her coat to hang on the back of the chair, and placed a stack of folders and a single datapad on the table. She leaned forward with a frosty and
businesslike expression that matched her chosen attire, speaking up during a conversational lull.

"Senator Clement. Senator Du. Queen Veruna. Welcome, all of you, to Telti." Her voice, slightly dry and with an air of easy authority, cut quick across any lingering back-and-forth. A hand lifted from the tabletop and gestured toward open spaces along its length, including a chairless spot for the Senator of Kuat's hoverchair. "If you wouldn't mind taking a seat, we may officially begin the meeting." She herself sat neatly in place and moved her datapad to one side of the various folders.

"I am Dr. Malory Monroe, appointed diplomatic and legal representative of Telti," she said by way of introduction, her eyes moving quickly between each other diplomat. "Our executive council would like to express its gratitude regarding your combined interest in Telti's future, as well as their dearest hopes for fruitful discussion. Judging from your opening statements, it's clear you've come prepared." Next, her eyes turned to the datapad, eyebrows raising ever so slightly.

"To start; would someone like to explain why there is a foreign, two-point-five kilometer warship parked in Telti's orbit?" There was no visible change in Dr. Monroe's expression nor general demeanor upon asking her question.

Nicolas did not like the tiny senator of Kuat. This is the first time he's exchanged words with him and he can already tell he's a smug, conceited pro-Republic type. Bringing up the original Alderaan - which never had a chance of peace or anything against the tyranny of Palpatine - made Nicolas consider telling him off, but he would restrain himself.

But in a surprise, the Queen of Naboo herself was here, Nicolas would give her a big nodding gesture as she is a dignified monarch. Nicolas can see the Consortium's interest here. It was odd that the Queen commeted about the Kuat senator selling ships, then came to mind the news report about Republic ship models in orbit above Klatooine for some reason, and that the Republic was looking for... missing ships...

But before he could respond to Vaz or greet the Queen, Dr. Malory Monroe would come and start the meeting. "Thank you for your time" he would respond to her with a quick nod and smile.

Anyways, Nicolas would respond first at the inquiry about that warship being where it is after sitting down. "That is a good question, Dr. Monroe." he would then look at the tiny senator. "Senator Du has just talking to me about how militant the New Republic is, and the transport is a good example showing it." 'Militant" was literally the word Vaz used. Militant is not a good word to describe one's self. Sith are militant, they are combative, aggressive, extreme, brutal, conqueror worlds, neutral or otherwise. Nicolas would then look back at the good doctor. Still though, a whole battleship just to transport a senator, absurd. If it was the Chancellor maybe it would be different and more understandable but, a senator?
