Kon Takashi and Emi Nightmeadow walked along the silent streets, as Coruscant's sun rose above the massive city. Wind blew through the mercenary's hair, and his weapons quietly rattled against his custom armor. Various ships entered and exited the planet's atmosphere above the two new friends, but that wouldn't make any difference to them today.

Takashi was as happy as ever to finally find a mission to complete with his new partner, and hopefully Emi was just as excited. It was nothing more than a simple operation to locate a secret, undergound organization and steal their blueprints to the city's capital building, while keeping the leader alive as well as themselves. Simple, as stated.

Placing his arm around Emi's shoulder, Takashi smiled at here and nodded slightly. Turning another corner, the two were finally approaching their drop point, which was what seemed to be a sewer.

"Emi, you know the mission's plan?"

"Get in, get out with prints, leader ain't dyin', and neither are we." Emi grinned widely putting her hands on the hilts of her blades. She couldn't stop grinning, for reasons that were her own.

Emi made a face synonymous with disgust. A sewer...a freaking sewer. It wasn't that Emi didn't like get dirty, she gone into enough tombs and caves but sewers were teaming with disease. She shuddered at the thought of her death being from a sewer-disease, how boring Emi wanted to go out in an explosion or in the arms of a lover.

"Right."

Takashi smiled and kicked open the cover of the sewer, ignoring the loud clanging sound it made as it his the ground. The noise would probably would awaken some people at this hour, but they had better choose a sewer lid than an explosion to wake them up.

The mercenary looked down the dark hole with a slight sickened expression on his face. He quickly grabbed his helmet and put it on his head, letting the air filters get rid of the spreading smell. Turning on his infrared vision through thought, he grabbed onto the metallic ladder and made his way down into the sewer.

Finally reaching the bottom, Takashi looked around to make sure there wasn't any dangerous life forms too close to his position. Finally after a few moments, he towards the small light at the top and yelled up to Emi.

"All clear."

A man stood in a dark room surrounded by numerous armed men. He faced what he correctly presumed to be the leader of the establishment. It was difficult for him to see anything in this room, and thus he could not identify the person he faced or correctly count the weapons faced towards him. He knew the slip of the tongue was lethal, but he cared less. He spoke as he always did. He had worked with more dangerous folk than this.

"Do you have my money?" he demanded firmly. His face was hidden by the shadow from the hood of his gunman's-duster. His body was clad in dark garments, but the dust covered them. His hands were covered with black leather gloves, and his feet wore dark boots. It was difficult to tell who he was in the dark room.

"I do. Have you done what I have asked?"

The man nodded slowly. He reached into his duster and pulled out a datapad. He looked over this object carefully, making sure this was exactly what this other person wanted. He then held it out to be taken.

"I believe this is what you desire." the man laughed. He eyed the shadowed figure as the datapad was being inspected. The blue blare of the screen barely illuminated the faces of the one looking over it. The light was enough to see all the figures within. There were twenty-eight men with guns pointed at him. He had been in riskier situations before: no sweat.

"Very good," the leader said. "This is exactly what I wanted; you may have your money." As he said this, two of the armed men stepped forward with a briefcase full of credits. The case was opened and shown to the man and then handed over. As the man turned away the leader quickly spoke. "Would you not stay? I have one more job for you." The man stopped and turned back to the leader. Moments passed before his answer came. Martien Delphey nodded in agreement.

Emi jumped into the sewer, she had pulled on a over suit, something a mechanic would wear and was wearing a air-filtering device. She hit the sludge and sighed loudly. Why did it have to be disgusting?!? She walked over to Kon was standing and pulled the air-filtering device off. Her face suddenly went sour.

"Oh yeah not to bad they said...smells like a land fill they said...more like ten year old rotting baby diaper rotting in a tomato in a bowl of "soup" at the back of a refrigerator that hasn't been opened in ten years." She said placing the filtration mask back on and motioning for Kon to take the lead.

Takashi walked slowly through the pitch dark sewer, his visor being the only light source around. Hugging the wall, he crept on, knowing that anyone could pop up on the two at any moment. Being as careful as ever, he turned another corner and continued.

After a few moments, Takashi stopped and let Emi catch up to him. Looking through his infrared, Takashi could easily pick out about twenty men about twenty feet ahead of them. The men, however, were behind a five foot thick wall of steel and granite, but still they were there. Once she was by his side, he leaned over and wispered into her ear.

"There are about twenty men past the wall ahead of us. We need to keep quiet."

Shane also walked the sewers but their was many differences between him and the mercs. Shane was a Mandalorian soldier and was her for personal matters. Recently a close friend of his has died while on a bit of a vacation and Shane had tracked it to this establishment. He wasn't normally blood thirsty but this friend of his had been with him for most of his natural life and the law on this planet hand't taken any notice. Vengence was due.

Shane couldn't pinpoint it to a specific operative but he decided he would enter the building and take as many out quietly as he could and move on from their at varying levels of violence. His conscience was completely okay with this since most of these people were probably low lifes anyway.

He was currently slogging through the sewer in full Mando battle armor currently under optic camoflouge and a silenced assault rifle complete with 3x magnification combat sights. He also had his combat knife securely tightedned to the area on his left pec with the hilt down. He had been ahead of the two before but their loud entrance had him move off to a dark corner. Now he was a bit behind the other two but he could here them, especially the female.

Tanas was a panther in the night, moving smoothly across the water, all but his eyes and nose submerged in the sewer water. It seemed disgusting, but drastic times call for drastic measures, and this certainly had merrit.

He had been following two suspitious characters for quite some time, he figured them to be mercenaries. But something didn't sit well with Tanas. He had heard of both through the grape vine, he was sure of it. One was Emi Nightmeadow, the other Kon Takashi. Why were these two together? Certainly the job would have to be huge to call for them.

He would have worn something more protective, but his heritage gave him an impressive immune system, and very acute eyesite. And with those eyes, he locked on to the two. He would not approach them, because as confident as he was in his prowess, he could not take on theose two.

Let alone the mandalorian only feet away.

Madalorian? He thought, surprised enough to shoot his head up, allerting the three to his pressence.

Cursing, he drew his blade and rose fully from the water, hopeing at least one of them would recognize his incredibly defensive stance. His sword held close to his chest, his body leaning back, his eyes docile. "Hi." He whispered, his voice monotone, quite.

"Acknowledged." Emi said in response to being quiet.

Suddenly there was a sound that she hadn't heard before. Something following them. Emi closed her eyes and stopped. She knew the stories and there were no rats that size down here. She grimaced then put her hands on the hilts of her blades.

"Kon...we have a wee bit of a problem. I believe we have some company." She said sighing.

Shane stopped as the man's head came up and the girl turned. He hung his head a little and placing his left hand on the ground and his right on the hilt of his knife he slowly moved off to his left against the wall perefectly blending into the shadows.

*She couldn't have seen me to. This guy just mucked everything up now. If this gets loud then those guys are gonna run or come down here and they probably have more guns*

Though if Shane stayed cloaked and his personnel energy shield up he could probably get away. But why did HE have to be a warrior with a conscience. He had to keep this quick and fast uncloaking would be a risk and he'd probably spook someone and risk a blaster going off anyway. But he had to act if his plans were to go off and he was sure the mercs were here to kill the people, but this newcomer. How did he get past him! No time to worry.

Shane stood up to his full height and moved quickly and quietly to the side of the new guy and pulled his rifle off his back and pulled his knife off with his left. He pointed the knife towards him and raised the rifle to the mercenaries and uncloaked. He spoke in a low but forceful voice.

"Do not fire! Let's talk this out. I know I am one to talk about non-violence with a knife and blaster drawn but none of our objectives will be met with needless blaster shots when we may be after the same thing."

Takashi turned at the same moment as Emi to see the two newcomers face to face. Sighing slightly, he brought his right hand to rest on the hilt of his blade, and stared at the two men. After a few moments, he looked back towards the wall ahead of them, making sure the twenty or so men where still holding their position, then looked back.

"Great time to be wandering through the sewers, no? The stench really helps to clear up the nose."

Takashi waited for another few moments, watching the two men. If they weren't attacking now, there wouldn't be a reason to attack later. Shrugging, Takashi turned and quietly continued on, hoping Emi would follow. Without looking back, Takashi waved slightly to the men and quietly spoke a last word.

"Later..."

Emi shrugged and continued on, they had a mission to do. Plus, it wasn't in her nature to go around killing people at random either. She yawned, this was getting boring. She wanted this be over with, she hated the sewers.

"Just give me the signal whenever your ready." She said.

Martien Delphey sat alone in a semi-bright room cleaning out his precise blaster pistol. His special projectile gun sat next to him with a silencer attached. He carefully cleaned away the grime on the gun in his hand and worked to make the inside of the barrel as spotless as possible. A weapon that has seen plenty of use requires extra care. His arms had experience, but through intense care they functioned as if they were new.

Inside this room was a bunch of items of both worthless and priceless values. He wasn't exactly told what he needed to guard, but he figured it was a valuable thing in this very room. Heck, he didn't even know he was in the right room. "Go to 'Section D' and protect 'Project Alpha'!" the leader said. What the hell is "Project Alpha" anyway? Why does it need guarding? Why wasn't the exact room mentioned? Why was this leader so paranoid? It didn't matter; Section D was small and easy to defend. It already had plenty of guards, mainly in the kitchen. Anyone unusual would be easy to detect. Hey, it takes something unusual to detect something unusual. That's probably why he was hired.

Shane sighed with relief. But doing so slightly fogged his visor, but that was cleared up by the internal systems quickly. He sheathed his knife seeing as the man next to him would not be attacking. When the other two mercs started to move Shane did as well, he slung his rifle on his back and kept pace behind the two of them.

"I'm coming with you two if that doesn't bother you. As I said before we could help eachother if need be."

He took a few full strides until he was beside the girl (the closest to him) and extended his hand.

"I am Shane Oderyn. Who might you two be?"

Emi rolled her eyes then extending her hand said "I am Loki and that up there is Bronco."

She had no intention of sharing her name with a man she hardly knew nor not sure if she cared to know. She knew Kon would agree wiht not sharing their names becuase he would probably say something like, "There is no reason to tell people your name if you had no reason to get to know them." A few thoughts crossed her mind but the most prevalent one had to be, What the hell are these people doing in this sewer?.

"Bronco and Loki? Interesting, either your lying or your parents were idiots." Shane waveds his hand in the air as to dismiss the subject, "No matter. I'm here to kill someone on the inside. You guys are most surely here to kill someone so how about I tag along. I'll take orders to a certain extent and who knows, we may be after the same target. What do ya say?"

Shane crossed his arms and truned to look at "Bronco". He could have probably made a better case if his helmet were off and he could make facial expressions but the helmet stayed put and so did some of his physical anonymity (It was a good thing that his last name was fake from the start).

*Why didn't you just call yourself Solo like back in your merc days, idiot?!*

"It really isn't your buiseness to interest yourself in our affairs, even if you would like to help. Giving you our names may have even been a bad idea, but what's past is past. Help if you would like."

Obviously Emi had done a good job of giving the man fake names, and hopefully Takashi's little rant would convince him that they were real. Anyway, the smirk on the mercenary's face had been lost as the three turned a corner to finally come to a very long hallway.

The mercenary drew his new hyrbid sniper rifle, custom built by himself, and peeked around the corner to check for any guards. To his suprise, there were atleast ten or so different doors along the wall, leading to different rooms. Sewer waste was dripping from the hall's ceiling in various places, but that didn't bother him.

Activating his infrared, he could see atleast two or three men in each room, so the "simple" part of this mission had just seemed to be thrown out the window. Resting the gun on his shoulder, Takashi looked to the man and spoke. If he was going to follow them, he may as well give his ideas.

"Any bright ideas, Shane?"

Shane took "Bronco's" place by the wall and used his snake cam to peek around the corner. He angled it more to spot atleast 10 people. He didn't bother checking with thermal sights since he hadn't attached better optics thinking he would just be in a dark sewr but he had a gut feeling someone was in each one.

*His name is really frickin' Bronco!?"

"I'd say we try to take them out quietly in a perfect world, but this world hasn't been the same since the Great War. Hmmmm. The only thing I can think of is a couple of smoke grenades and one of us going high and low with blasters. You guys got surpressors?"

Shane grabbed his rifle off his back and put the stock on his shoulder adjusting it until the gap between his grip and firing base felt more comfortable.

"Loki got any bright ideas?"

Tanas appeared behind the three again, befor producing a small circular disk, placing it in the center of the door. Looking back, he saw the guarded stance of the three. "EMP." He whispered, "You're going to be affected by it also, unless you let me examine your equipment, I can nullify the effects." Tanas whispered, his voice barely audible. "Somehow, I don't see you cooperating, so the best chance is to back behind that wall." Tanas added, turning back to finish the instalation. "It's not a powerful one, but it should be strong enough to knock out the lights and give us an edge."

Loki and Bronco, please. Tanas thought.

A small, metalic hum signaled his completion. "You've got about 20 seconds after it's tripped." He whispered, his hair matted, dripping sewage water onto the ground. His nose cringed slightly at the stink. "Never was a glamorous job." He commented, before he proceded to ready himself for a quick in and out. "Well..." He pipped.

Ocidem walked through the muck in the sewers. This was an odd place to be, especially for a neat guy as this man. The reason he was present was the fact he was looking for a specific parasite for his biological warfare collection. It was rare, but it could be sometimes found in this toxic areas. Needless to say, for a combat medic, this place was a gold mine.

Ocidem sloshed through the water as his datapad constantly monitored the water for the rare but lethal parasite. Antitoxins and defensive antibodies were pumping through his vains. He had a good hour before his chemical defenses wore off. He was a fortress versus what ever might try to enter his body.

Suddenly Ocidem came upon some voices. Needless to say he was surprised about anyone being down here. Only maintenance workers came down here. As odd as the noises were, he ignored them. He had his own reasons for being here. In fact, it was at the moment he heard the voices that his datapad went off. A small infestation of the rare parasite was on the wall not too far away. Ocidem carefully put on his mask and walked to the wall carefully. This parasite was dangerous; it enters through the nose and eats its wat through the brain. In about two minutes, the living creature loses all bodily function. In another, the creature is dead. The bodies of rats and small aanimals warned of this danger. Those people were luckey they weren't that close.
