The Kiffar was an oddity, wedged between two men at a corner booth she held a limp cigarra between her red stained lips, scarlet toned sunglasses with round lenses upon her well shaped nose and weary smile on her sun tanned face.

She used the table as a foot stool and burdened the air with smoke rings.

"’Chou’ boys." she said, titling back her chin tiredly with her cut throat birth mark displayed like a crime scene- a port whine stain running from her lips, down her neck like a cascade of splattered blood.

"Treat me right, I might be going to hell tonight," she said.

"Crom Dailey wants me dead and the way I see it- he always gets wha’ he wants." She spat the trinket from her mouth and lifted her head back to scan the bar.

"Crom Dailey wants me dead and His blaster is about to make damn sure he’s a happy man."

She lifted her perspiring glass and toasted herself.

"So if I’m to be dead by first light, lets make me a happy woman tonight!"

She swallowed it down hungrily and gave a refreshed recoil of sound as she slyly smiled.

Seraque Kistal had lived her life in debt. Her birth was a fluke- her existence should not have been and she did what she could to repay the family that was not meant for her for their compensation. The way she saw it, She’d been given a life that should not have began and so she attempted to redeem herself by giving it meaning- she made it have meaning.

She put herself to good use, served her people, fought their wars and only held herself and her father to blame for the blunder of her being. She didn’t seek approval, she simple wanted retribution.

But as she sat in the casino, feeling utterly alone as she waited her maker…she was not satisfied.

Though she considered herself grateful for having anything to boast of when she was a family’s undoing - something still left her empty- hungry for more then that.

She excused herself from the two handsome zeltrons, suddenly wanting to be rid of their company as she slipped back into the casino.

The bright lights put her at ease but the unwanted attention directed at her markings left her with a distaste.

She entered the fresher and began to cover the thick red with putty like make-up, hardly leaving a trace or the scarlet letter and gazing into the mirror with suddenly enlightenment.

Her only regret was worn upon her face- her clan’s denial to mark her as their own.

She let her hair down and shook it free, laughing with abandon as if life’s punch line had just been whispered in her ear.

She stepped back into the lively light show and sang to herself, feeling only the freedom one who would not face the next day could muster.

“Drop dead, cross breed!’

That was what Dailey had shouted when he found her with his son.

If embracing him marked her for death she wondered what punishment she’d have received for being willing.

Naomi was enjoying her time at the casino though she rarely went to them saw them as pointless places to be but sometimes she just wanted to take the chances of gambling and see if she could beat lady luck with out a life threatening situation starring her down in the face, which her job entitled almost any time she was on a job.

Naomi had just won her fifth round of pazaak and her opponent just left after paying her there wager. "Thanks for the free credits, come back again if you want to lose some more." she said jauntily to the Arkanian, who fancied himself a genius.

"Anyone else want to play? Lady luck is on my side tonight. No? What a shame." Naomi said getting up and heading back out onto the main floor and heading towards the bar, counting the credits she won, and accidentally running into another woman, by accident dropping some of her hard earned credits. "Sorry about that." She said picking the credits up.

As Pistol felt the press of another woman’s frame against her own and snapped back to reality. The Kiffar locked eyes with a tall human woman, dyed by moon silver. Her eyes were a cold arctic blue and her hair a clean gray with platinum shine. As the elder woman offered her apologies Seraque knelt to pick up her scattered winnings.

It seemed the human had done quite well for herself as the task took longer then expected.

"No crosses here, Cher." Mumbled the Kiffar,

"Whooo~” she howled excitedly, wiping her nose with her thumb as the credits were handed back to their owner.

"I wanna know what drink you're gettin' that cost that much!"she exclaimed with a greedy jest.

Naomi smiled at the joke, and responded “sadly no drink just a whole bunch of drunken sods weeping at the lose of their credits.” Naomi said chuckling, “sorry about bumping into you, I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going, the names Naomi Sol, the merciful merc, and the a general pain in the butts for most other mercinaries." She said extending her hand.

"I don’t like mercenaries." pistol responded plainly with her dimples showing as she quietly chuckled to herself and let her gaze circle the air.

'Kistal the Pistol." She said, outstretching her hand.

"Republic Hellhound for hire...” She added with a sudden air of urgency and threatening eyes.

"Gunner and a Gambler, eh?"

"Not looking to stay in the mercinary buisness much longer. still waiting on a solid job offer thats in the air, sadly. Anyway I am not usually a gambler can't stand it to be honest, but it was a rare occasion. I felt like partying a bit. So what brings you to a up beat place like this your self? celebration, wanting to forget something or just out for some fun?" naomi said releasing the hand of kistal, and stated placeing the credits in the bag she was carrying with her.

Nicholas sat playing a game of sabacc, he was at a different table but had watched the stream of losers come from Naomi's table cursing in various languages. He put his hand down, breaking the house again and collected his credits. He turned in his bar chair and watched her leave only to run into someone, an old friend or something.

Both seemed to be looking for work...which was astounding. "Perhaps the gods did indeed not play dice." he said to himself quietly. He had come here to scout for potential crew members...of course he didn't have a ship yet. But he was Captain Van Owen, and with the title came a ship...eventually. His last ship was sadly under lock down. It seems his debtors had kindly forewarned the republic of his venture into their space sector, and unbeknownst to him had asked they handle the loose fee...which was about the worth of his ship.

Still he had plans for that. A bigger ship, one with a propper crew instead of him and a few droids and low and behold here they were. Two possible hiree's. He clapped his hands together and held them there watching until one was done talking to the other and walked up to the two waiting quietly to introduce himself. It was after all, rude to speak when intruding on two individuals talking.

Pistol frowned at the outspoken merc’s words.

They cut her like an accusation. Running her thumb over her lower lip and paused. Job offers, she had had one of her own recently. Recruited into an organization that “did not exist”. considering the title it wouldn’t be small talk criteria.

"Fun..." she stated robotically.

Turning to meet eyes with an approaching a human male she slowly smiled and drew a cigarra from her belt pocket. A large tan strap of leather that hugged her middle up her waist like a corset but hung from her hips with holds for practicality. She regarded him with interest.

Clean shaven, bald with dark eyes, narrow and wise- she placed the smoke able between her lips and reached for a light.

"Ah, so terribly sorry. I didn't mean to eaves drop...but it is a shame how often such accidents do happen no?" He said smiling succinctly. "My name is Nicholas...and I couldn't help but over hear both of you fine ladies are for hire hmm?"

He put up his hands defensively momentarily to accentuate his next point. "No no, I'm quite aware you didn't mean like that. However if you're skills are what I'm hoping they are you'll be able to help me out just fine regardless....I suppose my question would be to you is..." he paused. "Are you interested in hearing more? I hate wasting time, both mine and other peoples...but mostly mine."

"Fun huh you don't seem to be enjoying yourself." Naomi turned at the same time to the approaching stranger at the same time Kistal did, and listened at the mans proposition. "Depends what it is, I don't do to shady of jobs, and I don't kill unarmed civilians, also what’s the pay and terms of the deal? If you don't mind me asking?"

Charmed by his earnestness, Pistol allowed herself a moment of focus- a genuine one of intrigue and placed the cigarra between her middle and index finger to let it show, nodding her head and looking to her platinum companion momentarily, paying little attention to her words before letting her dark eyes dark to the one who had so properly introduced himself.

She let out a soft laugh and turned to him.

"Do go’on." she said plainly.

"All I got is time..."

"Nothing so brutish as murder, I assure you. And one finds a business can not be shady, as it's neither a color spectrum or light quantity." He said this last bit with a roguish smile. "But, there are always shades of grey to every painting no?"

He continued on with a wave of his hand. "I'm an entreprenuer. In the importing and exporting business. It's a case by case basis, freelance if you prefer the term. What I need are a few people willing to help others using certain skills. Skills that are used every day, because those are the most developed kind." He says with an index finger pointing at the pair. "We inhabbit a galaxy. More specifically, we inhabbit planets on this galaxy. Each planet his it's own laws, and governments. The republic, the hutt empire...both are virtually the same at a micro-planetary scale. You see little difference except in maybe habitation between the core worlds of the republic and the slime pitts of the hutts if you know how to look at them. Both are suited for the species that inhabbit them to their finest extent and the further away from these power planets the worse things get."

He paused letting these words sink in. "That is where I come in. I improve the quality of life with my goods, my transport, and my...nack for being able to get around certain limitations. I need those who can help in not just the astro-terrestrial delivery but in the dilvery terrafirma as well. Those with people skills...and by that I mean those who are good at manipulating others, using wit, logic and fast thinking rather than brute force to be done with what needs to be done."

"Well you certainty paint a grey picture Nicholas and colorful words a real business man in the sense of the word what if even through sweet talking your clients and they don't accept, because like you sad every planet is different. They may not want your services."

Naomi shifting the duffle bag, and looked at the man with a questioning look seeing as it was a little to colorful to be truly what he described, like he sad the world is mostly a shade of grey there’s always an alter motive. She hoped the man would stop beating around the bush and truly say what his business was doing, and not mask it with the usual business man talk.

Pistol parted her lips in an "o" and narrowed her eyes, her cheek bones inhibiting her look of puzzled amusement. She was a simple woman with simple ideals- the very mention of Hutts made her skin crawl, but her republic named made her heart swell with pride.

"What is this miracle drug for the galaxy in which you..." she made a circle in the air with her index finger.

"improve the quality of life.".

She liked the way the words flowed- he painted a very tempting protrait- and she hadn't even gazed upon its strokes in detail.

"It depends on the needs of the people who hire me in full. I don't transport weapons to mob bosses, or slaves to slavers But what I do is frowned upon because I support that which I feel is right... I have transported weaponry to gurrilla fighters, marked by some as terrorists and others freedom fighters. I have dilivered illegal narcotics used to help medical facilities who are not funded enough for traditional pain killers...all shades of grey as I said before."

He smiled with a slight bow of his head. He leaned over and placed a few credits down on a nearby table and picked up some dice. "I do help people. And with a bit of luck." he threw the dice, called out double sixes, and they landed on double sixes, as though some part of the galaxy willed it. "I make a profit." he picked up his credits, now trippled and pocketed them, waiting for a reply.

"Sounds like a job I was once on going from job to job with the crew I left when they picked up a brother and syster fugitive and the captain gave them haven, the brother was a fine doctor to say the least, well anyway sounds like good work to me and I could sertantly use it to forget some of my troubles I'm in, and it sure as hell beats robing these poor sobs of there money. The names Naomi Sol, my skils are mostly snipeing and infiltration, but I can adapt, here to working with you." naomi said extending her hand for a hand shake.

Pistol smiled wryly and brushed her lips with her finger tips, she locked eye with roguish human and shook her head. His charismatic ways left her with a longing for his company- the promise of great adventure and high stakes. She gazed down at the dice and let her eyes dart back to gambler.

“ Call me Seraque.” she said, “outstretching her hand with th e flat of her palm limp, offering it like a trinket.

Find me a man, I can get him to talk-” she flashed her blaster at her inner thigh.

“Or walk.” she added. Back in the glory days of the military she'd interrogated more people then she'd had a normal conversation with.

"Ah lovely, so then, two for a crew...We'll need a ship though, mine was sadly misplaced by some old friends who made new friends in the republic that aren't fond of me." He said smiling. "I do know of a pretty one that I've had my eye on. It'll take a propper con to get of course, but it's a cargo freighter that belongs to the people who took my ship. So it's merely taking what's mine, with a little extra for my troubles as I see it." He said taking a step back. "Will this be disagreeable with your character?" he asked the both of them.

((Sorry had to through that reference in cause that’s what came to mind when you described what we would be doing. lol))

"Well seeing as they took what was yours I have no problems with it, just let me grab my gear and stash these credits I'll be good to go, seeing as I'm a little ill equipped showing her holdout blaster, and one of her hide out slug throwers that came out of her sleeve."
