Kel sniffed harshly as he tried to clear his nose. The Nautolan held his helmet beneath one arm, enduring the semi-breathable air as something to pass the time. he and the other Mandalorians at the base were stationed at this backwater moon for the sake of internal security. He had to admit, his immediate placement at the facility seemed almost negligent, and more of a reason to simply occupy the warriors, but he knew deep down that it was still a vital security checkpoint. The Mandalorian team's orders were to maintain the security beacon to the rest of the Mandalorian Fleet. While the beacon remained intact, the Mandalorians couldn't be ambushed from behind. At least, as long as it remained active under Mandalorian control. The thought sent a chill down Kel's spine and he exhaled sharply. he hadn't expected the feeling, but it only made him narrow his eyes to the ground. The dusty wind around him seemed to billow as shadows traced the ground, spiraling and whipping around his body like tendrils across the rocks. After a moment, Kel slipped his sage green helmet back over his face and began making his way for the landing pad. He'd completed his third round around the base, and it was the same as before; all clear. Who'd want to hit this place?
As he stepped up from the rocks below, two Mandalorians stood at the facility's entrance, greeting him with only a nod. Kel returned the gesture by inclining his head and continued past them, pacing himself as he entered the base. The rest of his Verd brothers were in the command center. They'd been here for days, but Kel hadn't the chance to really introduce himself to them. For the first few hours, Kel had focused on maintaining his post, as the ever-punctual soldier he'd been raised to be. Still, it was hard to put the past behind him, and to start anew as a member of Clan Vizsla. As he entered, Kel spoke up and engaged conversation for the first time since his arrival. "Nothing out there but rocks and wind," he said in a low, course voice. He sat down on a crate and rubbed hand over his helmet, sighing lightly.
