Vaz stood in one of the bays of the Kuat Drive Yards, his security detail lounging about the area with not much to do yet as they were alone. Before them, parked in the bay was a massive EF90 Redemption-class Medical Frigate laid dormant before them, it was fully operational for sure, but not a soul onboard the vessel, it almost appeared ghostly to look at. Vaz checked his smart data pad, there was still some twenty minutes before their meeting, as they would be docking adjacent to the bay Vaz stood hovering in.

Vaz's hovering pram buzzed softly for a moment as he was hovering about chest height, putting his face at about eye level for the average human, being just over one foot tall sometimes made being taken seriously a chore, which was often difficult for the Senator as he was a very serious person.

Vaz repositioned along with several of his security detail, to the door they would be led to upon their arrival, his detail would search the individuals, and secure any weapons they had before their meeting began. Vaz looked over to the ship floating peacefully behind them, he'd had time to quickly walk through the thing himself, tons of medical facilities and equipment laid throughout the ship, and a not inconsequential armament as well, this ship would definitely benefit whoever had it.

Finally the door opened, and Vaz looked upon his newest soon to be clients, Hello, thank you for making what I'm sure was a long trip to meet with me here.. if you'd be so kind as to allow my security team to remove your weapons, so we can begin.. Vaz would say with a welcoming smile on his face, he felt a sense of deja vu for a moment as he said the rehearsed lines he'd used many times before.

Reach into the galaxy, and sometimes something would fall into your hands.

After the meeting of the Governor of Brentaal, Ilana had had her hands full. Between tensions erupting in the galaxy, expanding her horizons, and raising a child, the Doctor had been extremely busy. However, when the Senator from a shipping giant, from Kuat no less, reached out to her, the woman found even she could be occasionally surprised.

Arriving in a simple shuttle, her guards surrendered their weapons without a fuss, however, they would hover nearby. Golden eyes stared down the much smaller being calmly, offering a slight bow from the waist, cybernetic hand over her chest.

"Senator Vaz. I thank you for your invitation and interest." Her voice was light, even as she rose once more.

She was dressed in a simple, crisp deep blue pair of trousers and a grey, silken top underneath a dark grey cardigan. Though simple, her outfit was practical in its' elegance; her hair was pulled back into a low bun with a black pin stuck through. She would not smile back; despite the politeness of this male, there was some sort of tension in the room. She could sense it even before leaving the shuttle. Waving a hand to allow her guards to follow behind, she inclined her head.

"You have piqued my curiosity."

Doctor Morata, I must say the honor is assuredly mine, I was elated when you responded to my messaging, and a chance to help MorataCorp better serve the galaxy, well one simply can't turn that down.. Vaz said as he hovered toward the floating frigate in the bay.

I'm sure you've done your research on what it is we have to offer, but.. let me formally introduce you to the E F Ninety Redemption-class medical frigate.. while it is actually manufactured by the Fondor-Jade Corporation, it's basis comes from a KDY build the E F seventy-six Nebulon-B escort frigates, which means it boasts a pretty considerable armament, and given your operations in the outer rim, I'm sure you'll be happy to hear that.. Vaz said as he pointed at one of the imposing turbolasers that hung from the ship, Vaz was a natural born talker, he was in politics afterall, But I'm sure you're more interested in the medical facilities it boasts than it's defensive and combat abilities..

They drew closer to the docking point of the ship, where they would actually board, Vaz's security team walking with them, once they reached to dock, Vaz would wave most of them off and all but two would stay behind, Onboard is an impressive amount of medical facilities, coupled with some sixteen bacta tanks.. Vaz would say his eyes widening and head nodding, once they boarded Vaz would allow her and her team to walk freely around observing what he hoped would be their next purchase. The triage facilities, and full blown medical hospital like accommodations, backed by those tanks are capable of, well with a full team, housing about seven-hundred and fifty patients at any one given time comfortably, though I'm sure you could sacrifice comfort for additional patients if you needed to.. Vaz said as he floated behind them down the halls. He'd read every piece of writing on this ship, but would have to be honest that medicine wasn't exactly his field of expertise, business and politics was, but that's why the galaxy needed people like @Dr Ilana Morata.

Truth be told, she knew little about ships. The most she knew, was enough to patch her personal scout vessel. But otherwise, the specs he listed out of the ship itself didn't seem important. She was interested in its' value as a medical frigate more than its' carrying capacity; with wars waging on differing fronts, having more armaments and the ability to travel was key.

Not too long ago, she once held talks with Blackwell. She made a mental note to talk to Newton once this was over, and refresh their talks of other medical suppliers. However, she nodded along patiently, carefully listening to the smaller alien with astute golden eyes.

Her own security detail hung back, excepting two, and her personal assistant. She took her time, carefully observing the beds. Her lips twitched a moment. Remembering her partner, Sevrin, and his attitude about having a bed not big enough.

I hope these will satisfy you, Rin.

"And in exchange for this wondrous frigate?" She wouldn't waste this man's time; he was a representative, after all, and she was sure she would be one of many people the Kuat senator would have to see. She cocked her head in his direction after staring hard over a medical display, idly tapping a few keys to test how reflexive the display was to touch.

"If you don't mind my cutting straight to the chase, of course."

Oh.. Vaz said, a tinge of surprise in his voice, just jumping straight into it, that was fine with him, he was just expecting a bit more wine and dine was required with a woman such as @Dr Ilana Morata, in truth, the only thing he needed in return was the credits, he had been in a frenzy making sales as of late, pumping credits into the KDY and by extension the Republic, this salesmen thing was much easier than being a Senator, I can draw up the numbers immediately if you'd like? I'd love to see MorataCorp keep their future business with Kuat as well.. Vaz said with a smile, securing a future purchase would be almost as good as making one today.

Vaz tapped away at his datapad, pulling up the preliminary offer of sale, with @Dr Ilana Morata's name as the purchaser and her organization MorataCorp listed just below her, the price listed at the way bottom was modest, I am, however, prepared to offer a sizeable nine percent discount on your account.. Vaz added, Frigates were generally expensive, but Vaz knew her organization could bring a lot of good to the Galaxy with this in their inventory, No strings, no commitments, just a friendly offer to provide the Kuat Drive Yards' services in the future, should you ever need an additional ship.. Vaz added. In truth the profit margin was still measurable even with the discount he offered her.

I'm sure MorataCorp, and by extension the galaxy, would benefit heavily from such an investment, if such a number seems unobtainable, we can arrange a sizeable down-payment, and put together a financing program, I have faith in your organization, and would like to see it succeed.. Vaz said, what he said was true, even if he benefited from this sale as well.

He'd wait patiently, this was a large decision, and didn't feel he really needed to apply any of the pressure they taught in business school.

Thankfully, he didn't waste her time. However, she couldn't help but feel mildly disappointed. He was the leader of a frontlining ship manufacturing company, and... he merely intended for her to purchase one? She couldn't help but cock her head slightly at the listed bill, and at his comment about financing. It was when he mentioned the amount being possibly unobtainable.

Her features, previously a mild detached look, seemed to suddenly change. The Doctor of media, the Ice Queen of Medicine, seemed to suddenly manifest. Her eyes took on an almost metallic sheen, her gaze turning frigid as she stared the representative down.

If she wanted to, she could purchase his whole planet, and it would perhaps only put a slight dent in MorataCorp's finances. That he even inferred a possible problem with being able to purchase nettled her greatly.

"That will not be necessary," she spoke in cool tones, instead snapping her fingers to her assistant.

"I have a different proposal in mind."

The Fondorian handed the Senator her own datapad, and within he would see a large amount. "We will purchase eight. In exchange, we request the government of Kuat to allow MorataCorp to set a medical waystation here. As well as providing medical care and supplies to its' planet, we request that Kuat Shipyards provide warranty on damage and other hazards of work; the details may be discussed at a later date."

She stared him down, cybernetic hand settling on her hip.

"If these are agreeable terms, of course."

Vaz was taken aback, the financial power of MorataCorp was far greater than he originally perceived, an impressed look crossed his face. Well, @Dr Ilana Morata it seems I owe you an apology.. He offered, I had no idea of the great success of MorataCorp, I'd only heard so much of your organization, mostly about its noble cause in the outer and mid rim.. Vaz added.

Vaz checked his datapad for a moment, hitting buttons and typing swiftly, Ah, perfect, we have as many ready for transfer immediately, and I can assure you a medical waystation will definitely be agreeable, as far as a warranty one will be provided and the details of such will be forwarded to you shortly after we're done.. If you're ready to begin we can start the transfer immediately, once that's cleared you're free to begin taking possession.. Vaz explained.

It was fairly clear Vaz did not know the power of the individual he stood with, though in fairness that wasn't totally his fault, even with his research into his current client what information was available wasn't in large supply, though MorataCorp's goal was noble, he couldn't find much in the way of operations.

The final bill of sale was drafted with the outer rim territories filled in at the top with MorataCorp below it, and the doctor's name yet below that. The eight ships followed the ledger, and the exact number the doctor had offered listed at the bottom, Vaz was happy with the deal, it would no doubt pump considerably more credits into the Republic economy than he had previously thought he was going to be doing today.

Medical frigates. Useful, though many would think security ships would be more so. Truthfully, her interests were in MorataCorp primarily. However, should this man ever prove less than his word, she could always call collect with whomever was next in Kuat's operations. His desperation to maintain for his planet was endearing.

Instead, she kept the contract on file. Who knew, if a medical waystation was kept in NR space, as well as other Senate spaces, she could benefit from differing tax breaks.

"Construction. We would prefer it to start as soon as possible, and," she cocked her head, "as for the rest of our order, I expect the paperwork to be on my desk by tomorrow morning."

With the transaction being tied directly to the Kuat government, she could profit with a direct line. So if something happened that could possibly damage her company's reputation, she could merely cut ties. Something that would harm Kuat far more than it would harm her own business. It was a risk the senator seemed to be willing to make.

The terms were agreeable, and Vaz nodded his head, Agreed.. he said, That will be drafted and made available to you tomorrow morning.. He said, offering his hand to symbolically finalize the deal.

Once the deal was struck, Vaz would make his way back to his office, excusing himself from @Dr Ilana Morata. Once there he fully dove into the permits and proceedings to get his side of the deal underway immediately, it would only take an hour or so before the paperwork was sent off to @Dr Ilana Morata, as approval for such things was very easy for a Senator of the planet to get approved, usually just requiring a holo call or two..
