Naboo was known for many things. One in particular were its museums. Halls dedicated to the culture and history from across the galaxy and time, it was still understandable to be a dull subject for some. Byron had only paid enough attention in school to get by and now he was wishing he had given it more of his focus.

The jedi was flying a lancer class pursuit craft. A bit different from the basic Corellian freighter he had started with. Byron was not alone on this journey. His mentor and friend, Indyana Sati was along with him. Byron was glad to have the Jedi Master especially in this case. He also felt like it had been ages since they had spoken let alone worked together on a mission.

"Seen you around even less than usual...." He remarked though he wasn't one to talk. The Knight had been fairly distant from the Order as well lately in pursuit of the portal travel Tiamat had at her disposal. "...any exciting stories worth telling? I can go first." Byron looked to see how she responded before continuing. The winding down of the ship's engines marked the settled parking spot. The trip from the spaceport to the museum could be taken on foot or they could end up getting a local taxi. There were some different kinds available that looked interesting. He was in no rush, patient to arrive whenever that was.

Between working with Arctus, losing her lover Roland, and then her friend Maxims, Indyana had kept herself apart from the Order. The secrets of the galaxy felt like something she didn't desire any longer. She felt as though she was alone. And though she wished to explore secrets with Jedi Master Alex, she had instead cloistered herself away on archeological digs.

The woman who sat next to Byron was quieter than Indy had been. The Pantoran's hair was braided back, but one strand was a paler lavender. Deep circles were under golden eyes, and her features seemed subdued, withdrawn. But still, she hadn't seen nor heard from Byron, so an adventure with a former Padawan was welcome.

Giving the man a side eye, she managed a tired smile, nodding once.
"Sure, I'd love a story. What's been new for you, kid?"

Byron smiled at her response and thought back to a time after they had last spoken and hung out. They were friends after all. "Let's see..." The knight wasn't the best story teller but he would indulge her all the same. "...when we were still working on getting those Gozanti freighters...well...when I was leading that..." He corrected the retelling with a hint melancholly knowing what had ended up happening to those ships. "...I ended up almost boxing a droid twice my size. In a vacuum." he said each line with more emphasis.

"We were trying to salvage this broken gozanti right? Knight Lanaamer and Dubh were on a salvage freighter but this gozanti ended up being not-so-abandoned..." The Jedi nodded and smiled at some people that were kind enough to great the two of them openly. "-but I went onboard to check it out and ended up on the bridge. No life support. Artificial gravity barely functioning. And it's when I'm checking diagnostics that we detect activity in the ship."

The man shrugged because it was an expected event what happened next. "Then this big binary loader lookin' a** comes sadistically waltzing in. I do the only thing that makes sense. Crushed it's blaster arm..." His hand pantomiming the same event a little as they walked. "then of course these things are KARK-" he noticed he probably shouldn't be swearing so much. But these days he had been spending his time around a fair bit of voidfarers and spacers. So for no he just whispered the foul language to be polite. Indy was someone who could relate. "karking strong up close. So I took that di'kut out with a bit of force ~bzzt~ and a little pow there. Plus I may have hit it a bunch." That part wasn't completely clear. The knight knew he had been pretty scared of the mighty machine about to clobber even him. Blasters needed to put in some work to drop a bounty droid like that. And those things are made from scratch usually He thought, impressed.

"There was that TIE fighter attached to the underside and apparently it harassed the salvage duo though they ended it I think." He added. He took a breath and wondered if that was a good story. Byron could think of better ones eventually. The fresh Naboo air and day had him doublecheck his surroundings. He wanted to both savor the peace and beauty of the planet and his time on it as well as see if there was any oddities that spoke to him in the immediate vicinity. It would be ready before they arrived at the museum they were headed to and would even give the Knight a better base line for the area around them.

She listened to his words with the faint grin still in place, then huffed, shaking her head. "You like to toss yourself into danger, Byron... or maybe it just finds you." She lightly nudged him with an arm, eyes glinting. She had been to Naboo before, but for a different reason, and her mind cast back to Hannibal. Once again, someone she had let down...

Golden eyes dropped to the ground for a moment, her voice soft.

"I'm glad you're safe. I meant to visit, but... I doubt you would have wanted me hovering around," she gave him a wry grin, one hand on her hip.

The man grinned slightly. He wasn't especially proud of it but he tended to get into dicey situations. It could be blamed on one thing or another but in the end that didn't change anything. The Knight would meet whatever came at him just like he always had. "I think an old family tale talked about a curse one of my ancestors earned the family. Maybe they pissed off some old Ossein fortune teller or Dathomiri witch."

His family had Ossein ties but also technically 'mandalorian' background. But it never amounted to much and records that Byron had found made it almost sound like they had been occupied by a tyrant or warlord. His forebearers didn't have much to be proud of on the small retreat. A part of him felt there could me skeletons in that closet than he wanted to find. Maybe that was why it was so easy for him to leave his civilian life behind and join the Order. He knew that Indy had worked closely with Captain Rook and she had been grieving after his death.

Now he felt doubt ebb out from his friend and mentor. She quickly hid it with her smiling compassion and mirth. "Nope. Though I guess we're a lot alike in that way." Thoughts about such dark and malicious things were easily washed away by the beautiful Naboo architecture in the daylight. Green domed structures and cobblestone streets with an air of calm contentment kept Byron from leaning heavily on solely the negative parts of how things were in the galaxy. He blinked and took in a breath before looking back over at the Pantoran. "...enough about me. How are you doing?"
