I can see where the teaser appears to be fan-made at times. As far as the "cross-saber" goes - I can't honestly say I'm a fan of it right now. I did enjoy it overall though.

I'm down. I can dig this. Another Sith/ Dark Sider with a new lightsaber (granted it's only a light-cross guard...thing? added.) Indication of more 'western' styled fighting, rather than Eastern?

Big attention getters for me:

Unmasked (and not a Clone) Stormtrooper, Possible focus on both sides?
Three+ planets. Tatooine, a planet with both water & land, and a snowy forest.
R2 unit gets to be a child's version of a droidieka.
Classic icons (ships, uniforms) with a modern look.



I'm honestly excited now. Little disappointed they didn't show any non-humans so we can catch a glimpse of what to expect when we see a twi'lek or Ithorian or something.

Two attention getters for me were the X-Wings going across the water and the quite-possible Sith activating his lightsaber.

The shots seem really well done and got me so hyped

Sounds like freaking Smaug doing the voice over. I swear, if Beetlejuice Captaincrunch is in this movie I'm gonna be so annoyed.

Okay, yeah... I think I agree with the others. This felt like a fan film and nothing really excited me. And as big a SW fan as I am, I'm honestly shocked to say that.

Exactly. Me and my friend were discussing a second ago, where the Teaser showed what many people probably see as iconic Star Wars imagery.

Tatooine, the X-Wings, the Falcon, Tie Fighters, and lightsabers. It drew people in and is setting the story up without getting anything away. I say, wait for the full trailer and then judge the pull factor.

Although it looks like the quality of a fan film, I liked everything but that ****ing dumb lightsaber.

Also, that's a shit load more CG than I expected but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

But yeah, black cloak with another stupid red lightsaber is disconcerting.

My problem with lightsabers in this franchise is that they've rendered their usage as a gimmick as opposed to it feeling like a natural extension of the universe, a tool like any other. They're continuously strapping crap onto them, or giving them ridiculous colours and shapes, making it this impractical dumb thing as opposed to an extension of a character.

He should have had something else or nothing at all, THAT would have been more impactful.

I will say it could have been a lot better, but the fact that Abrams didn't want to give anything away did make it harder to meet full potential. I am still excited though, and I KNOW that future trailers will be better.

Again, this is a teaser trailer released over a year before the film comes out. I'm glad they didn't show everything.

I loved the stormtroopers. I loved the x-wing and falcon scenes. I loved the new male lead scene, what the hell he was doing piqued my interest.

I thought the lightsaber looked non-functional and a little over the top. I was expecting this sort of antagonist, its the story, but I hope there's more to the character when the movie comes out. And I wish we had seen more of the female lead - that she was running away doesnt make me want to know more about her, just makes me want to know what shes running from.

Trailor will be great. Movie will be great. I doubt theyll live up to our expectations, because our expectations are our own imaginations, but itll be great nonetheless.
