I want to try this again. However, instead of having the nations choose their alliances after the fact, I want to set up the nations in two opposing predetermined alliances. The two groups do not necessarily have to be at war to begin with, though they will be clashing with each other in some form. NPC nations can also be part of the alliances to help produce conflict.
The source of the conflict can be a succession of leadership of a (world?) ruler, a difference in beliefs, past grievances, corruption of officials, etc. It can be determined in discussion, though it should be determined early since it can affect the nation profiles.
To help bolster constant interest in the RP as it goes along, I really want to emphasize discussion between members of both alliances to help produce interesting scenarios for RPing in. Past RPs seem to extinguish itself because of a loss of interest or ideas from the members. Basing ideas off of historic events would be pretty cool, in my opinion.
In terms of players, I am thinking 8-10 people is more than enough.
Interest?
