Fate Throws Yet Another Curveball...

[Darman]

Kon Takashi, former "Overseer" to some strange gang, shot through space in his ship. Sitting in the Piolot's chair, the mercenary yawned loudly and took another swig of the old water that was in the fridge. Shaking his head slightly at the taste, he looked at the navigation system and realized he was closing in on Coruscant. This time, sleeping during hyperspace travel didn't seem to have a bad outcome.

After a few minutes, the mercenary came into the planet's atmosphere quickly, overpassing a few cargo ships trying to find a place to land. Finally, he slowed his ship above a rotating landing platform and dropped the ship down smoothly. Once parked, the mercenary opened the hatch and walked out from the darkness inside of his ship. Stretching, he turned back to the ship to watch the hatch close, then jumped from the platform to the street below.

Takashi looked around the street slowly, happy to be able to relax on the planet. The man started to walk to a large cantina, pulling off his helmet in the process. As he entered the cooled building, the mercenary looked around at the drunk and gambling people, then took a seat by the bar. As the bartender neared, Takashi waved him off, then sat back and watched the band and it's dancers.

 

[Captain Kara]

Over at a nearby a table a shout occurred that sounded like, "Wahoo!" A large man stood and threw a punch towards the person sitting across the table. Suddenly a sword was poking through his back. Many people around the table cleared out of the bar. A pink haired woman stood from her seat she gathered the credits on the table and headed towards the bar with a large sack in hand. She set the sack on counter, it made a noise like it almost filled with credits. She looked down the bar and spotted an interesting man. She stood and headed down the bar to see who the newcomer is.

She sat next and turned to face him, "I haven't seen many like you pass through here lately, warriors I mean."

 

[Darman]

Takashi turned his head towards the voice and looked at the pink haired woman. Raising an eyebrow slightly, he looked back to where the man had just died and sighed, like nothing had happened. The mercenary spoke outwards to the bar, but it was obvious the only one who could hear his words was the woman.

"Is there a reason to stay away from these parts?"

 

[Captain Kara]

She tapped her chin for a moment then answered, "The only reason you should stay away from these parts are if you make me mad or you get on the wrong side of any loser crime boss...but seeing that you're warrior...I would say just don't upset me."

She reached across the bar and grabbed a bottle of something. She opened it and took a drink, she offered the bottle to the man she just met, "I'm Emi...and what should I call you?"

 

[Darman]

"They call me Takashi."

Takashi took the bottle of liquid, then looked at the woman closely. The mercenary rocked the bottle slowly in his hand before taking a quick drink. After a few moments of tasting the liquid, Takashi handed back the bottle and grinned.

"So what do you do around here to have fun?"

 

[Captain Kara]

"I normally don't do anything...this is one of my rare breaks...I am a thief and assassin by trade and drinker by profession." She chuckled then took another, "I prefer to enjoy the little quiet time I get but since you asked about fun. I know where a group of thugs hang out...if you feel like having some fun."

 

[Darman]

"I'll follow you, Emi."

Takashi grinned at the girl before slipping his helmet onto his head and patting his weapons connected on his armor. After a few moments, the mercenary rose from his seat and nodded to Emi. At this point, any spilling of blood would make his day.

 

[Captain Kara]

She headed out the door of the bar with Takashi in tail. She turned left and went down the street a couple block until she reached and alleyway. She slipped through the narrow way until she came to a dead end. There was a dumpster against the left wall, she her hand behind it, there came the noise of electronic beeping. There was a few clicking noises and a small doorway opened in the wall. Emi ushered Takashi through.

"Don't worry we are almost there." She said making sure he didn't think she was taking him on a wild goose chase.

Inside the doorway was a small room with a door. Beyond the door came a pounding electronic beat. The door itself looked like it could be kicked in.

"Would you do the honor you making our entrance?" Emi said making a motion towards the door.

 

[Darman]

"Of course."

Takashi turned to face the door that stood in front of him and shrugged slightly. With a grin, the mercenary rose his fist, then sent a devistating punch into and through the door, taking it from it's hinges and sending it sprawling across the ground a few feet in front of the two. Takashi looked back to Emi, then stepped back, letting her through the entrance first.

 

[Captain Kara]

The scene inside was that of a private VIP room overlooking a dance floor. Rodian Crime Boss, Dolaf Prevaro, sat in his overly large lounge chair. He turned his head when he heard the noise of the door, only to roll of the chair and duck behind the chair. His men, the five up there got in cover. Emi stepped inside pulling her blaster from her hip and rolling into cover behind a bar.

 

[Darman]

Takashi followed Emi's lead and quickly ran behind cover, a few feet left of her position. Seeing the two run into the area, the guards began to fire upon their position. Takashi drew his KX-80 Repeating Blaster Rifle and quickly turned off the saftey function. The mercenary rose his gun and yelled over the constant blaster fire towards Emi.

"You want these guys alive?"

 

[Captain Kara]

"Not particularly!" She said pulling something from her bandolier, a small glass vial. "If you have a poison filter on your helmet that is off turn it on if not don't breath for the next 30 seconds."

Emi pulled a mask over her face to filter the poison she was going to throw. She chucked the small galss vial and it hit a wall. A blue vapor dispersed over the "battlefield", some of the thugs dropped while others do to their alienness stayed standing. Emi stood and shot the Rodian crime boss taking him down. With only two thugs remaining, she knew just from seeing his battle prowess that Takashi could take them down no problem.

 

[Darman]

Takashi nodded to Emi as he watched her throw the poison towards the guards. As the vapor began to spread, Takashi's filters automatically activated so only oxygen would come in through his helmet. After watching Emi take out three of the guards and the crime lord, Takashi pointed his own weapon at the last two. Within a moment, the two last guards dropped to the ground, a small hole in each of their heads from the mercenary's blaster. Smiling, Takashi walked towards Emi, slinging his KX-80 Repeating Blaster Rifle over his back.

"Nice job there, Emi."

 

[Captain Kara]

She turns toward him and winks, "Thanks...you're not so bad yourself."

She casually walks towards the dead crime lord and fishes through his pockets. She finds a credit chip then turns toward Takashi, waving it at him.

"It looks like drinks are on our poor deceased friend here." She says smiling, "You know we make a pretty good team. What do you do exactly?"

 

[Darman]

"Eh, basically travel throughout the galaxy taking on various missions for the right price. You know, the usual. And yourself?"

Takashi smiled inside of his helmet as he looked at the dead man lying on the ground. He was beginning to like where this conversation was going.

 

[Captain Kara]

"I stated before but I doubt you caught it. I am a thief and an assassin, a former wanted criminal." She said brushing strand of hair out of her eyes and placing her blaster back in its holster.

She jumped over the chair and landed in front of Takashi.

"You know I was in the market for a male slave but I guess...a partner in crime will have to do." She said slightly chuckling at the joke, "So what about it? I know it may be a bit sudden but we are an excellent team."

 

[Darman]

"Indeed, we do work well together."

Takashi nodded, although he was somewhat discouraged. The last two groups that he joined up with didn't even last a week. Looking back to Emi, the mercenary removed his helmet and smiled.

"I'd be happy to team up with you, Emi."

 

[Captain Kara]

"Alright...we should probably make some ground rules for our group. We will share profits 50-50." She taps her chin, "Hmm...anything else?"

Emi puts her hand on her stomach, a loud noise comes from within.

"I believe we should get something to eat before I turn to skin and bones." She says sighing heavily.

 

[Darman]

"And we wouldn't want that."

Takashi grinned and nodded, then waited for Emi to lead him to where ever they would go. Takashi wasn't familiar with Coruscant, and after all she did have the credit chip.

 

[Captain Kara]

Emi headed back out through the door they came through and she lead Takashi roughly back where they had started. She lead Takashi to a restaurant across from the bar. It was more of a casual diner then an actual restaurant. She sat on a stool and ordered some soup not really caring what it was. She motioned for Takashi to sit by her.
