Gunning it through the Al'doleem landscape, on a pair of 88-V Ranger Landspeeders, Q'san and his squad of two other agents (NPCs), and a Sith Acolyte he came to know as @Sythe were tasked with the assault of a small enclave base just outside the main rebel base of operations on the planet. Light had not broken through the early morning sky yet as they approached the small outpost, located on the bank of one of the many rivers of Al'doleem.

The Base itself was small in stature, likely at one point a listening outpost, with one small, central building, built mostly underground, with a landing pad atop it, made with thick duracrete walls inside and out. Maintaining an outwardly minimalist appearance, on top of being rundown to a significant degree, it's understandable why one would use this particular building as a small base. Most of the interior of the base was situated underneath the earth, with a vast majority of the lower levels being closed off due to either a cataclysmic earthquake, or a bombardment of sorts from centuries prior, leaving the main corridor, with six accessible rooms large enough for a single operative to live in, and the actual listening station, with rows of long since dismantled computers and the long desks they sat upon, along with one barren wall, where one could assume was used for overhead projections. The outside was bare, with duracrete walls, with a rusted fence lining the tops of them, and a landing pad.

Approaching from the Northwest, the four operatives came upon the base from an uphill position, Q'san and his (NPC) passenger, stopped at the edge of the hill, before dipping down the hill, to scope out the area, through the lenses of their binoculars. Q'san wore his typical armor, four frag grenades, a Pugio Blaster Pistol and a Javelin Light Repeater, with two reloads, totaling three, with one loaded into the weapon, instead of his usual Stun Scattergun, as this mission called for lethality, rather than taking prisoners, and Q'san would oblige his Emperor's wishes, with gusto.

"Regular shithole, this place," Q'san said, to no one in particular, as he scanned the outside of the building from his position 25 meters, as he looked through the NV-enabled binoculars he'd borrowed for the mission, "That being said, though, I don't see a soul, or vehicle on this side," he added, with a bit of disappointment in his voice.

"I say we swing around to the other side, to see what we see, before moving in on the base, itself," he said, directly to the Sith accompanying him.

Sythe was speeding along side of his now partner Q'san toward a small base on the planet of Al'doleem. They had been tasked with wiping out the inhabitants of the base, clearing the way for the Empire to further its reach and tighten its hold upon the galaxy.

As the speeders came to a stop at the bottom of the hill that held the base, Sythe scanned the area. There was no movement that he could detect. No patrols, and no vehicles coming and going. Which meant that the base was probably working on a skeleton crew and their mission of taking control of the base would prove a bit easier.

Sythe nodded at Q'san's suggestion of checking the other side of the hill. It was logical to check all the angles before proceeding to the actual base. That way, there would be no surprises.

As they left their current position, he kept his eyes open and alert to anything unexpected. The other side was much like the place they had been. No patrols, no guards... nothing.

He thought for a moment and then spoke. "They must have a vent shaft we could use. Unless you want to go through the front door?"

This was it. It had not taken long indeed for the Imperials to mobilize against the Galactic Alliance following the capture and interrogation of Arda. Thankfully, the rebels had evacuated the vast majority of their equipment and personnel — they were barely running on a skeleton crew. But this was Al'doleem, home of an ancient Jedi Temple had had stood for centuries, and the Alliance was not about to give it up. Not without a fight.

The hilltops surrounded the square-like facility, dipping down into a valley to where the building was placed. The Imperials had arrived in their speeders from the northwest side, and currently Devrim was kneeled behind cover provided by some rocks on top of the hill at the southeast side. Just like on the opposite side, he was 25 meters from the building, only the actual entrance to the facility was on the southeast side that Devrim was facing.

Dressed in his jet-black Jedi Armour, he blended in perfectly in the dark — that and the fact he hadn't moved an inch from behind cover, it made sense the Sith hadn't been able to see him. They likely wouldn't, until he moved from his position overlooking the building. For the mission, Devrim carried all his usual weapons and gear — but had also brought along his PIPE VII. However, he had given it earlier to his companion, H5PAD, an assassin droid working for the Galactic Alliance (@Mithias). The Jedi felt that H5 could make better use of it than he could.

As he watched silently, Devrim kept his force sensitivity and presence completely hidden until the time was right. It was almost a certainty that one or multiple Sith would show up, and the Rebel Commander didn't want to be discovered for that mistake. The sound of voices echoed across the valley created by the hills, telling Devrim that invaders had arrived. He heard something about a vent shaft — but the rebels knew their own base well. The ventilation shaft had ingeniously placed near the landing pad, overtop the walls with barbed wire fences. The Imperials would have to climb over those if they wanted to get inside that way. Devrim observed the speeders as they began driving toward the southeast side, remaining completely still and silent. With H5 directly connected to his comms, they would be ready to attack the Imperial invaders as one at a moment's notice.

H5PAD knew on Kashyyyk that his existence and place among the Old Empire was going to be short-lived when they began producing droids based off the H4’s original design. As such, his contracts cut off from the Old Empire and his services were now available to the highest bidder—in this case, the Galactic Alliance. Devrim was his point of contact and the droid was given his directives for this operation…

The assassin droid’s matte black and hull-gray plates were perfect for the pre-dawn time. But to ensure his camouflage was complete, he had a gilly-style cloak over his metal frame that blended in to the torn terrain seamlessly. H5PAD had not moved for many hours, expecting the Sith forces to attempt to gain information from the outpost. A “Lullaby” heavy pistol was slung on his right leg and his DH-7 was strapped opposite on his left leg. A quartet of grenades were strapped to the small of the droid’s back, placed in a specific order for easy access. Laying down on the ground beside him was his SB-3 Sniper Rifle and the PIPE VII placed in his hand earlier by Devrim if the situation prompted it.

His position was 10 meters from Devrim’s position to the west running along the berm, also 25 meters from the locked-down door. H5PAD was paying close attention with his audioreceptors and his active motion detectors. Any “running lights” on the assassin droid were off due to the need for stealth. It only awaited the command to attack…

The Red Skull Gang enforcer had been recruited by the Empire on a specific contract to provide assistance and necessary muscle when required. Ever since bounty hunters had captured his former boss, credits were harder to come by and Imperial lackeys paid hazardous for protection detail. The rogue mandalorian was situated on the Southwest hill, approximately 35 meters across from Devrim and 25 meters from H5PAD's position. A parrallel barricade of rocks and shrubs were used as cover, the armored Pantoran was laying supine and well out of sight for the time being. A Javelin light repeater was on the ground fixed up on its Biped while his Shriek-Hawk was strapped to his back along with his Strill blaster pistol on his left thigh. Two fragmentation grenades holstered on his belt and his Vibrosword sheathed if necessary for up close and personal situations; he was decked in his Heavy Beskar'gam, eyes peering out from underneath T-visored helmet as he communicated through his wrist comm link. "How much longer before the two of you get in? I need to take a karking piss.." @Gian Greydragon

Before Q'san made his move to the opposite side of the building, before Markus, a Red Skull Gang Enforcer he had come to know well rang through the comms.

"Go ahead and take your piss, sugar tits, we got this under control," he said through comms, omitting the chuckle that came afterward from the comms link, before getting serious, as he revved the speeder back to life, and made his way Eastwards across the hills, making a point not to crest the hills and give away his exact location. Leaving it running, he hit the break, and grabbed a bit of vine in the grass, and he banked North, before whipping around, and wrapping the vine around the throttle, and riding it just over the hill, and bailing just before he and his (NPC) partner could reach the top of the hill. Instructing him to move to the top of the hill, Q'san wrapped around, into the swamplands, taking cover behind a cluster of rocks near the Northeastern edge of the slope, tracking it's path with the reticle of his Javelin's repeater, as it zoomed Southward, between the two hidden enemies at the southernmost point of the surrounding area of the base. Q'san's position hid him within the rocks and boulders to the South, but gave him enough of a view the path of the speeder.

Upon stopping the speeder At the top of the northwestern hill, Sythe got out and moved into position behind it.

It was a natural move to get behind cover... he was taught even if you don’t see anything, or feel anything... you still protected yourself. Something or someone could be out there, and since Q’san was talking into his com to some unknown person, it confirmed Sythe’s thoughts.
If a “friend” could be out there, then so could an enemy.

He stretched out with the force to try to see if he could detect life in the surrounding hillside, but got back pretty much nothing. But he maintained his guard. The hairs on the back of his neck told him to be extra careful... and he would trust that feeling.

Since the base was the target, and it was at the bottom of the basin he was overlooking, it seemed there was no real way to hide oneself to get down there without getting spotted or shot.

He was very good at moving and not being seen, but in an open area that was not going to happen very effectively.

So he and his partner would have to come up with a plan.
“We need a distraction of some sort. I’m up for suggestions.” He whispered into the com.

Patience was something that H5PAD had a near limitless supply of. While his optics were down in the nest of cover provided around him among the torn terrain surrounding the outpost, two other items were exposed through the gilly-style cloak he was wearing. First, the transducer of his sonar was in a position to allow maximum coverage. Second, the sensor for his motion detector was tactically located so it could be in effect with his cover. The assassin droid’s audio receptors were tuned for any variations in the audible frequency ranges, able to detect frequencies in a broader range than organic hearing devices.

When the mercenary made his communique with the Imperial forces, it was easily heard by H5PAD. The communication was not made through an internal comlink within his helmet, but instead the mercenary had to speak into his comlink on his wrist. This voice was not in a whisper, so being just a couple of dozen meters away in a silent setting allowed the assassin droid to assess his location by instantly pinging the area with his sonar, triangulating the voice’s location/distance, combined with the small motion of communicating from that area. It also helped that the Galactic Alliance were the defenders of this outpost. They had time to scout out the terrain surroundings and position themselves first, well before the attackers. So H5PAD ran multiple scenario models, calculating the most likely positions for cover the enemy would attempt to utilize. Of course, the voice was heard from one of those familiar spots.

H5PAD’s comlink was internal, so he communicated to Devrim through a comlink with no sound emission. Devrim, in turn was wearing an earpiece, so no sound there either. He gave the exact position of the voice and they acted as one attacking the target nearest to them…

As soon as Devrim communicated that the Imperial crested the hill out of line of sight, using the cover of darkness before the speeder got close, H5PAD reached behind him and in one motion triggered a pair of grenades. H5PAD always had his grenades in a precise order, so the first to be triggered was a concussion grenade with a second one activated, which was a fragmentation grenade. Sitting up in the same motion, the droid's optics barely made out the correlating area in the terrain from his sonar sensor. He threw the concussion grenade first, aiming the grenade to explode 2 meters above the position of the mercenary and in front of him 2 meters, assuming the mercenary would be mostly facing the outpost. The second grenade that was thrown, the fragmentation grenade, was aimed above the supine mercenary, 2 meters above his body. He knew that Devrim was also acting at the same time and simply assumed the human would do his part.

Sailing through the air in the cover of night, making no sound, the pair of grenades traveled the distance to the aimed spot. The concussion grenade shattered the dim lighting, bursting in a hot bright explosion of light and a head-jarring explosion, that cranked the decibels to an incapacitating level, especially with the mercenary facing up at the bright explosion. At nearly the same time, the fragmentation grenade detonated above the supine position of the mercenary. With absolutely no cover from the fragmentation grenade that exploded so close and above his prone form, the shrapnel from the grenade would be able to hit nearly every portion of the mercenary’s body.

But H5PAD was confident in his targeting solution as the pair of grenades exploded. He used that moment to reposition, only slightly, to allow him cover from the position of the Imperial that seemed to be approaching on a swoop. His SB-3 was in one hand and the PIPE VII was in the other, ready to bring either to bear.

Still, the droid was confident that the two other opposing Imperials would not be able to pinpoint his position in the pre-dawn darkness, considering his covered position in the torn landscape. In addition, the Imperial crested the hill and therefore was completely out of line of sight to the pair when they made their attacks. The droid was in cover by the time the speeder zoomed past.

Also hearing the words spoken by the rogue Mandalorian, albeit not as well as his assassin droid companion, Devrim's attention turned from the headlights of the speeders on the northwestern hilltop to the direction of the voice on his left. Moments later, the robotic voice of H5 droned in the Jedi's ear. Hostile individual, two dozen meters away. Devrim knew this was from H5PAD's position, and that he was ten more meters further. Their next actions needed no further communication, as their first move was to reach for their grenades.

It was at this time that one of the speeders dipped further away, past the crest of the northern hilltop and out of sight. This would give the rebel and droid the excellent opportunity to act without being seen by the Imperial agent. As it was out of sight, Devrim and H5 extracted their grenades. While H5 threw his concussion grenade, the Jedi hurled one of his frag grenades toward the mercenary, aiming it to explode on the Mandalorian's left side. There was little chance that the rebel would be able to throw it the 35 meter distance with his own strength, and so Devrim called upon the Force to imbue his arm and give him the ability to do so. Doing this would, of course, suddenly make his aura in the Light quite visible to the Sith should the Dark Sider reach out with his senses.

Winding up again with his second frag grenade as H5 threw his second explosive, Devrim lobbed the second one, this time aiming a couple meters below the Mandalorian's feet as he lay supine on the grassy earth of Al'doleem. The Jedi did all this from his kneeled position, completely obscured from the northern hilltops (as before) except for his head and upper shoulders. Gripping his R5R once again, he prepared to continue the fight as he eyed the headlights of both speeders near the outpost — one of which crested the hill again on the northeastern edge and began moving extremely quickly into the valley, then up the southern slope and through the middle of Devrim and H5. As the headlights crept up the hill and threatened to give away his position, Devrim ducked fully behind the rocks as it passed.

Due to the top speed of the bike, and Landspeeders being notorious for their acceleration, it would be almost impossible to perfectly conceal two people throwing two grenades. Q'san's quick movements got him behind cover and able to track the tip of the beam of his headlights, through the scope of his repeater, spotting the Droid pinning and throwing its second grenade, by no means hindering them from doing so, but exposing the Droid at the least. Quickly switching over to the NV Binoculars, he could just see a third grenade thrown, and then the concussion grenade going off, he dropped his binocs on their lanyard, and fired two bursts of six across the tops of two objects that looked sizable enough to hide a man-sized individual, over the tops of both, and covering the area at waist level. Having fired twelve rounds total, he released the trigger, and braced himself against the rock, as he moved just a few inches closer to cover, using his Night Vision he kept a close eye on the rock he knew someone was behind. With his HUD's zoom feature, he was able to keep both areas in his sights.

"There's at least one," he said through comms, in a low tone, even though 60ish meters is not within the hearing range of even a droid, "Behind what I can only guess is a rock."

Upon hearing confirmation from Q’san that they were not alone... and seeing the effects of the grenades, Sythe again used the force to sense if their “opposition” was force sensitive or not.

What he got in return made him extra careful. “There is a force user nearby. Use caution.” He told Q’san.

He mentally kicked himself for not approaching the base a bit more secretively and cautiously, rather than following Q’san with the speeders and announcing their presence to everyone around. But at the moment it couldn’t be helped, and nothing down about it.
But what could be done was to face this forcer and be done with him or her so the base would finally be in their hands.

He made sure his throwing weapons were exactly where they needed to be, and his inactivated lightsaber was easily accessible on his belt.

Then he backed up slowly to the trees behind him, making sure not to turn his back on whoever was out there.

There was no use using the force to quiet his movement, so he would have to rely on his own skill to try to quietly approach the force user from a different angle.

He left the cover of the speeder and used the trees to try to move to his left...and all the way around the ridge and to the other side, to hopefully where the forcer was.
All the while, masking the force in him and stepping as lightly as possible as to keep the element of surprise.

It was going to take him a while to get there, but if he did what he hoped, he would be able to attack the force user from behind.

When he was a little boy, his mommy always told him not to leave the house without his armor. Actually, that's not true, his mother was never around but as the hardened criminal had come of age through crime infested streets and then later working for Aks-Ree, he had learned a few valuable lessons. One such being that heavy armor was heavy armor and no amount of agility was worth sacrificing your peace of mind. How important was that lesson than today. Markus had been laying supine but as Qsan gave him the okay on taking a piss, he had already been standing from the supine position and was walking forwards and upwards to the western edge of the SouthWestern hill he was on. He hadn't found a good shrub to piss on yet but as he was in the forward motion, the first concussion grenade rang out; the blast was enormous and its sudden appearance not only wrecked his inner peace but startled him to no end. The force of the blast propelling him forwards just as the Droid's fragmentation grenade exploded. However at this time, Markus was nearly out of the deadly epicenter however that didn't mean that his armored body was save from all damage. Shrapnel exploded and shredded into the duranium alloy Beskar'gam, piercing at his left shin plate and left thigh to cut the flesh laying underneath.

His body hurled into the air and landed onto the ground and rolling twice before coming to an end prone. As Devrim's two grenades were placed on his previous left and underneath positions respectively, their epicenters weren't enough for damaging blows but shrapnel did fly far enough causing glancing injury to his right pauldron. The four grenades had caused significant muddy debris and smoke to envelope that region, clouding Markus' current form from any direct line of sight that the Jedi or droid could utilize. The light repeater had also been blown away by the distal epicenter of H5PAD's first grenade but had landed a few feet from the injured Mercenary. His left hand extending outwards as he grabbed it and hoisted it upon its biped stalks. Severe tinnitus and post-concussive syndrome currently, though his vision protected in that T visored helmet was still intact and he kept the weapon pointed in his opponents' general direction in case they'd attempt to charge to finish the job. While his other hand went down for the blaster pistol at his side, priming it ready in case of confrontation. His position was still prone and well hidden out of sight.

Once the speeder had passed by H5 and Devrim, the Jedi heard the blaster shots going off. As they were around 60 meters away, the bolts would take nearly two seconds to reach their location. If either Devrim or his droid companion weren't fully behind the rocks now, they would be by the time the blaster shots went overhead. As the first round of six bolts went over H5's location, the Jedi called upon the Force and reached outward to the cloud of debris and dust that had been kicked up by the grenades. Directing the wind, he forced the cloud to expand and completely cover the southern hilltop — breaking the line of sight to the northern hilltop.

Rushing out from behind cover as the next six rounds flew over his previous position, Devrim made sure he remained crouched until he'd cleared the rock. Tapping H5 as he passed, the Jedi communicated quietly through his helmet comms, ”Follow me, use cover.” He then would move in a relatively straight line through the trees until reaching the edge of the cloud of dust on the southwestern side. Now standing near where Markus was originally laying supine, around 10 meters from where the Mandalorian was now, Devrim knew he couldn't have gone far if he survived. Meanwhile, Sythe had dropped behind the crest of the hill, though by this time he would only have been able to reach Qsan's location as he traveled to the northeast hilltops.

Already facing north to the westward hill, the Jedi drew his pistol in his left hand an commanded his lightsaber to his right. Igniting the blade, it cast a vibrant emerald hue across the ground before him — and it would reflect in the Mandalorian's visor. Raising his pistol, he squeezed the trigger twice — once at Markus' upper body, and again toward his midsection. Meanwhile, Devrim held his lightsaber defensively across his body in case he should need it.

Once the corner of his photo receptors saw the blaster bolts, H5PAD simply ducked down further into his terrain cover. From that distance, the shots were close to hitting their mark, but the assassin droid had time to slip down further and the shots passed by overhead. Devrim was on the move as soon as the two bursts passed, tapping H5PAD on the shoulder as he went.

The Jedi came across his internal comlink as he moved, Follow me, use cover.”

"Affirmative"

With his hands already on the SB-3 and the PIPE, H5PAD deftly clicked them to the magnetic rear mounts on his frame as he followed behind Devrim, using the now moving cloud of debris and smoke as cover against firing solutions from the light repeater across the hill. H5PAD was not worried about the light repeater finding its mark among the debris, smoke and predawn darkness. In addition, H5PAD was not worried about the mercenary either. The grenades had flushed him out and now the assassin droid needed little correlation to track his movements with both the motion detector and the sonar. Knowing the mercenary moved over the rise at this point, H5PAD drew his Lullaby heavy pistol from his right holster and his DH-7 from his left holster. Once the assassin droid moved to where there were no physical obstructions between it and the mercenary, H5PAD emerged from the smoke following a track of the mercenary's last known location as a reference point and only had to slightly adjust his his aim as the illumination from the lightsaber revealed the mercenary. The assassin droid fired three shots from his Lullaby. One shot was aimed at his center mass, the other shot at his left thigh and the final shot at his head. H5PAD felt confident with the first of his shots coming out of the debris and being so close in proximity, it would be nearly impossible for the mercenary to be able to react to those three spaced shots. H5PAD veered a little bit away from Devrim in their westward approach ensuring he was still behind the cloud, had a clear track to the mercenary and behind the Jedi, 15 meters from the prone mercenary and 10 meters from Devrim.

Following the green light that had suddenly shone, following the sound of blaster bolts, roughly 15 meters behind him, Q'san snapped to and opened up on the light source. Focusing down and firing twelve shots around the light source, his first bolt was on the target of the saber, and given the angle to which it was being held, he could only guess he was using it as a light source, so he pulled the automatic weapon to the left, toward his body, maintaining a careful eye on the way the light moved after shots had been fired from behind him ten meters behind him, although he looked intent on something else.

Six of the shots spread outward, with about 2 meters of spread but six of the bolts were focused around the light source, kicking three across the mid section of the wielder, and three more back to the right and up, diagonally. Four shots veered to the left of of the Jedi, and two to the right at the height of the average male human torso, with some variation per shot. He then, moved, into the tall grass just a few meters to the woods East of the compound.

Markus was an apex predator and even when outnumbered, the rogue mandalorian presented a very dangerous threat. He knew what was at stake here, their battle one of many but undeniably one that would lay the foundation for the fires of rebellion. And thus, as both Devrim and H5PAD took time en route, Markus too spent that time preparing his defense. He did not move from the position he had found himself in after the grenade attack, shifting to a crouched stance as he slid the side arm pistol back into its hip holster and hands moved from the repeater to the Shriek-Hawk on his back. As the powerful Jedi summoned the calling of mother nature to assist them, a slight amusement came to the Pantoran's face. The smog and debris from the grenade were closest to him and no matter how far Devrim attempted to cast the mist, it remained thickest at the Mercenary's position. Well concealed and hidden from sight, wicked lips curled into a sinister angle as he merely waited. Left wrist bola launcher primed as the rebels quickly descended into their own trap.

Devrim did not illuminate the region to search for Markus, he in fact illuminated the region to give away his own position. Thus, as soon as the green weapon hissed to life, Markus fired his bola launcher towards the Jedi's left side @Vosrik . The durasteel net would likely wrap around the Rebel prior to his ability to gain an effective sight on the Mercenary and thus would also prevent his ability to fire off the shots with his pistol. As for the Droid, his concealment within the cloud of smoke made it so that Markus could not see his position however as the saber radiated light in a spherical manner, and the short range of only 10 meters away, if the Droid could see him with his photoreceptors, Markus too could see the Droid.

He snapped his upper torso towards his right and began firing with the Shriek-Hawk, turning his torso slightly to avoid the first bolt which gave a glancing blow on his left pauldron. Instead of fleeing, Markus continued with the assault and exchanged blaster fire with the machine construct @Mithias . A total of three bolts from the Shriek-Hawk exchanged with the three bolts towards him; his shots would be targeted towards the upper torso and center mass of the Droid. As the Droid was standing erect and taking aim through cloud and saber illumination, he would not be in an ideal position to avoid the bolts. H5PAD's second heavy bolt smashed into Markus's left shoulder. The impact profound as the blow sent him backwards, causing the third bolt to zing past his falling figure. Bolt ignored his heavy armor, burning through the undersuit and creating a critical flesh injury on his left deltoid and clavicle. Needless to say, that left arm was not going to be useful anytime soon.

As he lay on the ground in pain, he managed to crawl on his right elbow, right hand going for the fragmentation grenade on his hip and unpinned it. "One One thousand.." He counted silently...

The sound of blaster fire caught Sythe’s attention.
If the fight had started without him, he would have to give up his previous idea of sneaking around the backside and join the fray in a full on frontal assault.
Which meant giving up his position in defense, or taking the initiative and going on the attack. His choice was the latter.

Using the force to give him a burst of speed, he easily closed the 70 meter gap between him and the now Jedi he knew was there.

The bolts from Q’san’s blaster And the force used by the Jedi, helped Sythe figure out just where to go... At about 20 meters to the right of the Jedi and Droid, he stopped... seeing a cloud of dust and debris swirling around, he then used the Dark Force at his command to hurl and push the debris and rocks towards the Droid, timing it to hit him between his first shot and his third shot...

This attack from Sythe would be difficult to avoid since the droid was focused on and already engaged in attempting to aim and carry out its attack on the Mandalorian.

Hopefully the debris would not only injure the Droid mechanically but also interfere in its sensors to prevent an effective counter attack.

In meantime, as the force attack was ongoing, Sythe pulled out his crimson lightsaber concurrently, preparing for a melee engagement if it would come to it.

Seeing a black object whirling towards him, Devrim acted instinctively and lashed out with his lightsaber. The tip caught the durasteel wire, slicing it and sending the bolas harmlessly to the ground. Hearing the sound of more blaster fire from across on the northeastern hilltop, instead of deciding to shoot at Markus the Jedi instead dove for cover. Despite the ground being ravaged by the shrapnel of the frag grenades, the rocky barricade that the Mandalorian had originally lain supine behind was still intact, albeit with chunks missing from the damage. By the time the blaster shots reached the Jedi, he would be safe as they flew harmlessly overhead. If it wasn't clear before, Devrim was well aware that whoever was on the northeastern hill was wielding a repeater — nothing else could spew that volume of plasma in such a short period of time. However, he was unable to completely avoid all the incoming shots. One struck him squarely in the chest, though thankfully his armour saved him from any major injury save a burn that would have to heal later.

While he crouched in cover, the Jedi also noticed the approach of one filled with the unmistakable chill of the Dark Side. To confirm this, the blood red glow of a lightsaber hissed to life 20 meters from where they stood. Devrim felt a wave of energy direct the dust and debris toward his companion, though he was unsure how much damage it would cause to H5's solid frame.

Standing from his place in cover once the incoming shots had abated, Devrim could see that the heavily armoured man was extremely wounded and on the ground, crawling. The Jedi raised his lightsaber defensively in front of his chest, making sure that he could keep both the Mandalorian and the Sythe within his line of sight. The droid seemed intent on facing the injured enemy, and so Devrim decided he would confront the Sith. Squeezing the trigger of his pistol once toward Sythe's chest, he remained ready for counterattacks from either enemy.

As H5PAD came out of the smoke, he continued to veer in his westward approach, going between trees that provided a modicum of cover as he covered the distance closer to the mercenary. The mercenary was able to catch the assassin droid in the torso with his first shot, burning through his medium armor plating, and tear into his shoulder armor with his second shot. But then, the cloud and debris switched directions again and pelted the assassin droid, forcing the droid away slightly from the cloud. Fortunately, most of the debris only caused superficial damage to the droids plating. This forced the third shot to pass by on the side.

Judging from the number of bolts and the position of the attack, the Imperial lit up the night sky again with two bursts. The Force Push, causing the sudden lurch in movement from the droid, pushed him out of the spread of the light repeater fire combined with the distance and low visibility.

While its systems were slightly downgraded in operational output from the mercenary’s blaster shots, the droid continued to press the attack, moving to the next tree that allowed for cover from the mercenary and an optimal firing solution to the mercenary close to the Jedi. With a clear line of sight, short range and illumination, H5PAD ripped off two more shots from his Lullaby and one shot from his DH-7. The first shot was aimed at the center mass, the second shot was aimed at his right arm and the last shot from the DH-7 was aimed at his center mass. The assassin droid was poised to move to the next available cover as needed, but also ready to adjust his firing solution based on the previous wiliness of the mercenary. But due to the effects of the concussion grenade, the damage from the fragmentation grenades and the damage from H5PAD’s heavy blaster pistol attacks, it would be nearly impossible to avoid the droid’s follow-up shots.

Numerous things had occurred in a relatively short amount of time since his previous actions. It was difficult for the mercenary to keep track but his analytical mind attempting the best it could in the matter of split seconds. Too bad the processes did not relate to the actual timeline and as quickly as his mind drifted away, it returned back with prime focus on the objective at hand. The Jedi had somehow managed to escape his durasteel net but had also taken a bolt to his armored chest. Lucky for him he supposed, the Jedi seemed prepared somewhat for this engagement. The Droid however was his primary directive at this time as he realized his allies would likely be around to deal with the force wielder anyways.

"Two One thousand..". He counted silently and hurled the grenade with his right hand; line of sight to taking shots was clear but given the darkness, a small object such as a grenade would be difficult to spot in the mud and swampy terrain. The throw occurred immediately after Sythe had finished with his force debris attack and the droid was in its recovery process. The grenade primed to land just a few feet to the left of the Droid as he attempted to make his approach to press his attack on the injured Mandalorian @Mithias . Given the timing of the grenade, it would explode immediately after landing and before the Droid could reach any suitable cover and thus hopefully intercept any further assaults from the machine construct. Additionally, considering that its processors were computing potential scenarios for dealing with the Mercenary as well as its sensors recovering from the debris, he doubted that H5PAD would be able to sufficiently counter the explosive.

Immediately after throwing, Markus pulled out his side-arm blaster pistol and kept both the muzzle and his line of sight on the Droid. Just in case the damned thing survived in an operational manner.
