[Dimetri Unduli]

Cobalt Station outside of Jabiim, Independent Space, 1352 Hours

Not often did the Mirialan find himself on missions, though this time he had to get back to work. His scar left on his left most stomach was that of a lightsaber puncture wound. He was lucky to have somehow survived the encounter with the Sith at the prison. The healers had done a great job of bringing him back to health and eventually the bacta tank was able to bring him to a hundred percent.

Once healed, the young Padawan had been assigned a mission outside of Jabiim along with two other Jedi. The tasking was to overtake an arsenal of ships from the nearby space station orbiting the planet. It was a rather big fleet, and the Chapter of Delacrix had been occupying the area. These mercenaries would no longer been needing them as they would be relieved from their power when these Jedi arrive on scene. Negotiation was a key tactic, but the best possible way to take this action would be overtake with power. Dimetri was not one for confrontation so he would let the Knight in charge determine their decisions.

The Mirialan teenager was riding in the back of the shuttle the three Jedi were in, waiting to arrive at the station and to figure out the plan going forth. He only knew Hlo, the Knight he fought alongside with at the prison. The other Jedi he hadn't known at all, though if they were Jedi he figured he could trust them. Being the lowest ranking he would wait to hear instruction.

[Asena Zeev]

Once vibrant and eager, Asena was noticeably now more withdrawn. Once upon a time, under better circumstances, the young nautolan would have engaged rather openly with a fellow padawan, especially given his rather interesting array of facial tattoos. Though littered with markings, Asena's mental scars were far more aplenty. There would have been much chatter and perhaps even a few jibs but now, no more. The aqua coloured girl was too focused on her own inner thoughts. To be more specific, she was wallowing in them.

The Battle of New Alderaan had been a disaster. On the cusp of knighthood, the huntress had faltered and had brought shame upon the Jedi Order. In her first battle with the invading Sith, she had fled. Simply...run away. All that death and fear had made her lose her nerve; in that moment of weakness, victory had gone to their most grievous of enemies. The more she thought about it, the more Asena sank deeper within herself.

And you call yourself a Jedi? Pathetic...

All that training. All that time she had devoted. Was it all for nought? Yes, she had lived, but at what cost? She could barely look her master (the Cathar known as @Hlodovic Volsung) directly in the face; the disgrace all it all was simply too much to bear. Yet Hlo was rather dogged, determined even, to revive Asena from her sulking state. Perhaps that is why he insisted she joined on the mission, with @Dimetri Unduli.

[Hlodovic Volsung]

{abox4=400px] Hlodovic had fought twice on New Alderaan, both had led to losses, the first was due to his own overconfidence and a lack foresight. The second loss had been in his overconfidence in his pupil’s preparedness to see real combat. His own pride and aggressiveness had nearly cost both the young jedi accompanying him on his mission their very lives, it was a mistake he couldn’t afford to make again. It was with this understanding that he arrived in the shuttle bay and boarded the vessel the pair of padawans were sitting in.

“Padawan Unduli” He greeted, the mirth in his voice spread onto his face at the sight of the young man. “I am glad to see you recovered from your injuries.” He continued. “And I am sorry that my overconfidence led to them in the first place.” He stated in a more solemn tone after a short pause.

After he had greeted the Mirialan, Hlodovic’s eyes fell onto Asena, his gaze softened slightly at her sullenness. Loss was a bitter burden to bear but also the most valuable of teachers.

“My Padawan.” Hlodovic stated in a slightly hesitant voice. It would be the first time he called her by that title, and he wasn’t sure how she would react. Hlodovic took his seat next to her wordlessly, now would not be the time to discuss New Alderaan, not time to explain that the failure was his. No, for now, he needed Aesna focused on the task at hand,

“As you know, the Chapter of Delacrix operates behind the guise of the Sith and has been conducting operations in the space around Ossus. However, these are not the typical mercenaries, intelligence dossiers show a willingness to target civilians in combat zones, they are vile.” He explained. “Our duty is to secure these docks and their armada for our own uses.” He continued. “How would you both see this task done?” Hlodovic asked calmly, wanting to evaluate the answers given and the mindset behind both of the Padawans.[/abox4]

When Hlo had began to speak to Dimetri, flashes of the fight against the Sith ran through his mind. How much anger he felt behind them, so much hatred within them. It was overwhelming at the time. Though that was then, it still haunted him slightly. Taking a deep breath he would look to Hlo and then smirk slightly,

"If it weren't for you I would be dead, so I thank you for being there regardless of any other point of view on the situation. I hope I never have to return the favor."

After he said his peace the Knight would speak to his direct Padawan and comfort her. Letting them speak, the Mirialan would stand by to the side and await for the mission to begin. After a few moments the Knight asked how the Padawans would go about the situation, Dimetri not being shy to speak his mind on the matter would talk first,

"If it were myself I would look for any political way of handling this and doing so, but after observation on the matter with the Chapter of Delacrix, I would assume aggressive action would benefit best. Especially by surprise. Taking their largest ships with the fighters and corvettes docked in them.. I'd say we would have a successful mission then."

Dimetri would look at the other two for a moment.

"But that's just me."

[Asena Zeev]

Asena winced, though she did make an attempt to hide it. The title of padawan seemed so hollow now, but her master's efforts were a different matter. If anything, the young Nautolan appreciated Hlodovic's less direct approach; he didn't heap upon her heavy lectures and self righteous speech. Not right now, at least.

This mission was a precarious one. There was much to gain but that in itself came with great risk. Asena's teal eyes grew distant just thinking about it. Almost immediately, she came to a poignant conclusion. "If they are willing to engage in combat, then we must be ready to meet the challenge. If we show any restraint, they may see that as weakness on our part; they could even push that to their advantage."

Give an inch, the enemy would take a mile. @Dimetri Unduli 's thoughts were understandable valid and Asena agreed strongly with her counterpart. "If we want to use their own armada against them, then we need to minimize as much damage as possible. Perhaps a distraction? One of us could draw their attention whilst the rest lead the capture of the ships and docks."

Once they captured the armada, they could turn the tables on the remaining opposition, providing all went well. @Hlodovic Volsung, however, would provide the final way.

[Hlodovic Volsung]

Hlodovic listened to both of the Padawans, he nodded his head at their evaluations, they were strategically sound. Dimetri had pointed out that by focusing their efforts on the largest ships, the tide of the battle could be turned with minimal losses. Asena had compounded his initial observations by suggesting a distraction force to pull the majority of the mercenaries away from their valuable vessels. Hlodovic would add the final detail to their plan to solidify it.

"These are good observations and astounding strategical plans Padawans." He stated, congratulating both of them on their astuteness. "By targeting their Cruiser and at the minimum three of their Frigates, we can cripple their naval superiority and utilize that advantage to gain control of space station docks. Excellent foundational plan Dimetri." The Cathar stated, giving the Mirialan recognition and praise. "And Asena, you are correct by utilizing a distracting force we can pull defenders away from our true targets in order to seize them more efficiently." He continued, now turning the praise to the young Nautolan woman. "Your plan will minimalize losses while also allowing for us to have a clear spear strike to the enemy's throat." Hlodovic stated, his head turning between the pair. "As such, I agree with your strategic plans. This will be our battle plan." He continued with a smile spreading across his feline lips.

Now to the point of contention. Hlodovic knew he could not place the Padawans in command of the distraction force, this would undoubtedly be the force that faced the highest rates of casualties and the most risk. No, that would be his duty. The threat of a fully trained Jedi Knight along with strong boarding force would demand the attention of the bulk of the mercenary forces, which would leave openings for the Padawans to accomplish their goals.

"I will lead the distraction force." Hlodovic announced in a calm but serious tone. "The pirates here will focus their forces on a Jedi Knight, especially one at the head of a sizable boarding force." He explained. "This will leave an opening for the pair of you to target their largely unprotected docks." He continued. "You will both lead strike teams to do this." Hlodovic explained, producing a small data chip and inputting it into a holo-projector. "Look through these dossiers and select your teams wisely, you will be limited to small squads to avoid detection while inserting." Hlodovic continued. "You will be in command of two, five to six man teams, including yourselves." He explained. "Mission success and my survival will hinge upon your success." Hlodovic stated, his voice shifted from the more serious tone to a grave one. "I believe in the both of you. May the Light be with you both." He stated bringing an element of finality to the strategic discussion.

Once the Padawans had selected their strike teams, and their shuttle arrived at the designed rendezvous point with the rest of the allied forces, Hlodovic would exit the transport and make his way towards bridge of the carrier they were aboard. It would be here that he would relay their battleplan and convene with the other officers before making his way to the boarding vessels to lead the bulk of their marines into hell itself. He hoped the Light was with them on this mission. They'd need it.

When the Knight began telling the two Padawans that what they came up with was how they were going to go about the mission, Dimetri couldn't help but feel that perhaps the Knight was winging this whole mission. A slight smirk with a chuckle came from the Mirialan before he would nod and then grab his lightsaber and take a look at it. It was still the basic looking one he had quickly put together, soon hopefully he would be able to make his own in honor of his ancestor.

"Okay, I'll take every pilot, and soldier with pilot's training. Asena if you would, take every combat trained individual available. I will lead my strike team to the hangar first, they will immediately dock as many of the fighters and freighters here as possible before our position is given away. I only need you to be the defense forces. Set up a strong position and keep the karks off us. This is going to be most effective if you ask me. The pilots would then assume control of the frigates and cruiser and you will all board and then we get out. Any thoughts?"

His eyes set on the other two Jedi as he waited for the Knight to put his input. He was the leader after all. The only thing Dimetri really needed to get done was moving the ships onto the other ships and moving ships out. Easy pickings. Of course that was if what he said was sufficient to his fellow Jedi.

[Wayson Hanson]

The Force shifted and changed. As if the fates themselves had to be realigned. Standing before the two Jedi was another Knight no mere Padawan. Wayson stood looking at the Jedi Padawan with a smile, this was an effective plan, but now he needed to do his part to ensure that it succeed.

"Yes Padawan Dimetri, I shall see it done." Wayson said, picking from those that he saw would best handle the combat and allowing the Padawan to first grab those with any flight training.

In an emergency, Wayson knew he could join in the bridge and help guide the ships out. For now, the more of the enemy they bring down the more ships would not be able to escape their reach. Wayson had never been part of such a boarding action and finds the thought refreshing, it would be a great challenge for him to see how well he can adapt to the challenge.

Dressed in his armor Wayson's pistol was out for everyone to see and the lightsabers hid for a deadly surprise. This was going to be fun. Strangely he found peace in knowing this fight will allow them to end such evil pirates even though he knew many will die today. If they had chosen a different path they would not be here today.

Wayson began to collect his man, preparing them on how they will be setting up choke points, and using that to funnel the enemy into killzones. He counted on them lacking the discipline his man will have and felt confident in that opinion.

[Hlodovic Volsung]

Hlodovic listened to the breakdown of the strategy and the Dimetri's selection squad process, he nodded in affirmation. "May the Light be with you." He stated calmly. Once that was completed, Hlodovic would leave the shuttle and return to the bridge in order to brief the officers of their battle plan. Once the carriers grew closer to their destination, Hlodovic would head to the hangar bay where he would board a sealed troop transport in preparation for the battle to come.

The forces that Hlodovic was going to be leading was large enough to draw the attention of the mercenary raiders, he knew they couldn't be ignored. The uneasiness before battle set in upon him as he mentally and spiritually prepared himself for what was ahead of him, what he was about to do to the enemies of the Light. He would provide them no quarter, he would show them no mercy, the Light demanded justice and the people of this sector cried out for freedom, Hlodovic would give it to them.

The massive Cathar felt the transports lift from the docking bay once they exited hyperspace, there was a moment of stillness before he felt the sudden forward momentum of launching. A peace fell over Hlodovic as he focused his entire being on the Light and felt it's blessing roll over his shoulders like a mantle, it's cool embrace bringing him strength and resolve despite the echoes of turbo laser fire in the void. Soon Hlodovic would be able to vent his righteous fury upon those that stood with the Shadow, soon he would be an bastion of piety and faith, soon the enemies of the Light would tremble, quake, and perish by his blade.

"Soon." His thoughts echoed.

 

[Dimetri Unduli]

As it was time to begin mission, Dimetri would have assembled his crew of pilots and begin his run to the hangars. Firstly before leaving, he would turn to the knight and return the courtesy of the Jedi phrase,

"And may the Force be with you."

He gave a quick smile before he was off. As the Padawan had rushed through the halls, he would lead his group of pilots. Stopping at each intersection of halls and peeping around the corners to ensure no enemy personnel were close by. For the most part it was clear, seemed Hlo was doing a great job of distracting the karks. As the group the Padawan was leading had come close to the door to the hangar he realized it was locked.

"Anyone here good at splicing?"

As the pilots all looked among each other only one would raise his hand.

"I did a little before.."

"Great please do your best, I'll keep any incoming off of y'all. Be quick."

The pilot that was taking the task was giving an almost confused face as he would look at the lock mechanism. Dimetri would leave him to the job and focus on if anyone was coming down the hall. The rest of the group stayed low and to the walls hoping to keep as little attention to their location. The guards rushing down the halls through the intersection were all crossing by, not turning their way. That was a lucky deal as they only had a Jedi Padawan, with some meh shooters to keep them safe.

"Any update on that splice?"

"Uhhh almost done... just.. one.. more.. wire... AHA I got it!"

The door hissed as it would begin to open. The Padawan turned to see the inside of the hangar and smile. It was a job well done and Dimetri was glad he could accomplish that small task to make it to their next task. The group ran into the hangar to include Dimetri ready to bring the ships out and under their control.
