Personally I never really liked Iphones, so I would choose the Galaxy. But then again I don't use my phone for anything other than as a MP3 player. Recently texting has taken a back seat. I usually send less than 50 text a week.

I am prepared to be stoned by the Apple users now.

EDIT: Brandon likes the Galaxy, so I'm safe for now :D

Brandon, give me several reasons as to why it's superior, that would be most helpful :)

Jason, the process involved to put mp3 files onto the Galaxy is painless? I don't have much experience with that, or how the playlists/categories work for the music player.

Because Samsung isn't so secretive that employees commi suicide when they lose a prototype rather than be tortured by the company that's worried about its contract? Because their engineers don't have to work under sheets? Because you can actually own your Samsung and not be threatened by lawsuits when you use it as you wish? Because they don't sue another company saying that the other company violated copyright because they tap to unlock and "a tap is only a zero length line"?

Take your pick.

I like that it's bigger. The iPhone is very small and the Galaxy is a lot bigger, so your touch screen isn't really tiny.

And so far as I'm aware, Galaxy's aren't made by slaves unlike another phone mentioned in this thread.

It's not difficult, but it could be more streamlined. As with most mobile devices I have used though, it seems easier to download them from a cloud storage than finding the music file on your phone. But then again I use cloud all the time anyways, so it isn't hard for me.

@Sisk_Renelo I'm not really pro Galaxy as much as pro anything but Iphone. When it comes down to it the companies don't matter in this context just the products.

Let's just focus on technical specifications you guys. That's a discussion for another thread. >.>

What about complaints about battery life on the s3? And is the size of the galaxy ever cumbersome at all?

It's never cumbersome for me, and the battery life is fine with me. You can get probably around 48 hours out of it. The convenience of recharging it is great since you can plug it into your computer (which you can also do with the iPhone).

I own a Galaxy S III and I ****ing love it. It's not cumbersome at all, though most of the time it's in my purse. But a few of my guy friends have one and I've never heard them complain about it being too big for their pockets or anything. Everything is very fluid, such as swapping between screens and such, and the OS is really quick and responsive. There are also more color choices than black and white, unlike the stupid iPhone, so you have a bit more customization there. Not to mention that since the Galaxy doesn't run on iOS (which is ****ing horribad) you can actually customize your screens (there are a total of seven) with whatever mixture of icons/widgets you want. Swype runs ridiculously well on it also, and the voice-to-text (which i use a lot in the car) picks up everything you say as long as you don't mumble.

Overall the iPhone has absolutely NO superior qualities to the Galaxy as far as I'm concerned, and the only people that would pick an iPhone over the Galaxy if you actually look at the specs is a blind Apple fanboy.

I think tech-wise both function similarly. It comes down to what support you want and a certain degree of brand loyalty. I myself prefer Samsung and the Android market because it is what I know and what I am used to. I guess I never got into the whole "performance" thing other than "Does it make calls/text effectively?" and those things normally come down to your provider.

Yeah like most of this stuff is irrelevant to me. I view the device as more of just a tool than a means of entertainment or expression. Note that I am not trying to mock any of you or demean your idea. Just sharing my view. Call me old fashioned I guess.

If you want a phone the size of the moon that barely fits in your pocket than the Galaxy is the phone for you!

Matt has lady hands. That's why he doesn't like the Galaxy.

I'd look bloody weird with small hands. Like a black guy with a tiny willy....

Oh no wait, I've got one of those two.

I do not own a GS3 or an iPhone 5. I did however work for Sprint for the past 2 years, so I can give you a pretty objective viewpoint. I can tell you that if youre looking at making a purchase right now, if you dont already have any Apple Products, don't bother with an iPhone. While it is a good phone, it's main selling point is the interconnectivity with other apple devices and software.

GS3 and most androids for that matter, can do similar things as the iPhone with far more options in regards to applications, plus no need for itunes. Syncing music can be done in 4 steps with Windows Media Player, plus no need to give your credit card info to Apple to access the app store (Apple IDs require you to enter billing info before you ever even buy anything)

Oh btw, the Galaxy IV is slated to come out sometime this month I think, so if you're looking to buy a phone soon I'd wait a few more weeks and get that. Unless you're desperate to get one right this minute.

Galaxy. Used to have a Blackberry (HIP WITH THE TECH KIDS.) Wife got it for me. I generally agree with what Rom said. It has more features for a better price/convenience than the iPhone. It's the same reason why I go for self-built PC rigs running on Linux.

That and Apple's corporate culture is more than little bit creepy. With that being said, the iPhone looks like a functional device, and if you're happy with it, who am I to judge? Live and let tech-live.

From what I've heard its battery life sucks and the camera is not all that great, but other than that a great phone.

Oh and S3, the S3 for sure.
