@Fyston as per our discussion on discord, kinda wanted to bring it to OOC so we can get some clarification. I have a couple issues with your latest post:

"At the same time, he maneuvered his legs, putting his right leg between hers and putting his right foot behind hers."

"ensuring she could not simply pull back and stepping back was not an option. If she were to step backwards without taking additional time to extricate her legs, she would likely trip"

^ This suggests that Alais is directly behind Damien without being able to move back easily. He can't put distance between them. As a result, I haven't had her move back, and she's inches behind him. She has landed the first punch, and the second punch strikes right after that:

"At the same time, her left hand was still free. While his back was turned and he had put all his stock into breaking her arm, Alais slammed her fist once again into his back. This was a moment after landing the first blow"

^ As these are shock gloves, there's no need to completely rotate back to slam the punch. As a result, he'd have two quick electric jabs coming at his back.

"As he stood back up, he brought his left hand up to also grab her wrist,"

^ This was from your prior post, suggesting that your left hand was already committed to an action. You abruptly switch from that to this:

" As he spun, he ducked as well and stuck his elbow out,"

^ The left hand punch would have already landed by the time he realized he needed to spin. Again, she doesn't have to do a full wind up punch to shock him. This would be two hits in the same area, making him spazz again. During this time she's more than capable of having her right hand join in to keep shocking his back. He'd be completely spasming and be unable to do anything as a result.

To begin, I'm sorry for the delay. I got called in to work and, when I got off, figured I should prep for tomorrow's 24. I'll also preface this with the outcome really doesn't matter to me simply because I work tomorrow and likely won't be able to get another IC post up. If it comes down to a ruling, I'd rather have it for knowing what to do next time as opposed to putting up a serious fight/trying to win. I gots me some PvP experience and worst that happens is I know what to do/not do next time.

To begin the discussion part of the post, I attacked first and then moved. I didn't try to gain space until after my attack had been performed.

"Damien spun his upper body around, keeping his feet planted where they were."

I'm going to include some links at the bottom of my post to demonstrate the attack but it works well with an opponent being close to you. I'll touch on the shock glove thing in a bit but regarding the bit about "your left hand was already committed to an action," I'll agree with that but I didn't use my left hand to attack until after I had done the spinning elbow with my right arm. It's right elbow elbowing followed by left hand punching rather left hand elbowing followed by right hand punching.

I think one of our biggest issues/points of contention here is the shock glove and exactly how they work, as you mentioned on Discord last night. Per the OP of the thread, the damage type is listed as melee/light stun and: "The damage dealt by these shocks are much weaker than standard stun weaponry, a strike from a shock boxing glove more jarring on contact but does not disable use of limbs or cause unconsciousness without repeated strikes. Paired with a powerful punch these boxing gloves can be quite effective in hand to hand combat, even once a charge has been depleted."

I interpreted the bolded parts to indicate that, in order for the stun/shock to be effective, an actual punch must be thrown rather than just flicking your fingers at your opponent. I feel they're more to amplify what energy/momentum you have invested in an attack as opposed to making up the entirety of the attack. You mentioned that "I haven't had her move back, and she's inches behind him." This is probably where we might need a ruling regarding the strength/mechanism of action for the gloves but in my head, the use of energy is more to amplify a blow (and drain the energy from the glove after a thrown punch as opposed to literally any tiny tap). Secondary to that logic, the "inches away" thing would have these punches be extremely weak because she doesn't have time to wind up, follow through, that sort of thing. A spinning elbow attack, as linked a few times below, doesn't require much space mainly because it transfers energy to one point (the elbow as opposed to the entire flat part of a fist) and because the elbow is the strongest point in the human body.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that I interpreted the write up to mean that an actual punch was needed to activate the stun part of the gloves and that the inches away barrage of blows doesn't quite qualify in my head to activate said gloves. The hit that I took in my post was a powerful one from your last post but I feel it wouldn't cause him to spazz out and become useless because it's one hit to his back (in addition to the colored portion of the above write-up). I interpret the spazzing out thing to be disabling because if I'm too busy having a seizure and peeing on myself, I can't quite fight, aye? As such, my stance is that repeated strikes (and this also falls back on what is needed to constitute a strike for the purpose of the stun mechanism of the gloves) are needed to cause him/me to be too busy spazzing to fight. Even if counting a blow or two from the barrage (and I hold that the elbow attack would at least interrupt it), the spin would have the blows spread out over his back at least, if not his back and side as he spins, preventing a disabling spasm.

I apologize if I've ranted or kept repeating myself, my focus isn't the best right now.

EDIT: Like a dumb, I forgot my links :( I've posted them below:

Youtube Vid 1, beginning of video has low quality older examples of the attack, linked portion has a slower demonstration.

Well she’s not “flicking her fingers”. She’s just not completely pivoting back and throwing full body powered punches. They’re still punches vs little touches. In boxing, the fighters don’t stand miles apart in order to throw an effective punch lol

Ruling: Damien is debilitated. Shock gloves work at effectively a half-strength stun bolt. Damien has already taken one blow to the kidney area, and then another in the same area before he does his turn. The tech rules state that a stun bolt to the unarmored torso is a KO. Damien has taken a half-strength hit and another half-strength hit to his ribs. This is enough to take him out of the fight, regardless of the following flurry of blows.

This ruling is final.
