My friend wants a gaming quality laptop.

He is clueless, and so am I. Help is appreciated.

If he can afford to spend the money, Sony Vaio (I don't know if they have any gaming rigs, but Vaios are ace). My friend has an HP laptop, although his model was defective (HP sent him a new one), I have an Acer (although I've had graphic card issues).

Acer is the best price wise, although their customer service can take some time, I hear, although when I sent my laptop out for repairs it was done inside two weeks.

I don't suggest going with Alienware. You're paying the extra $600-$700 for the name and the case (which, admittedly, look absolutely badass, but no case is worth that much money), while the rest of the components are no better than any other system.

Also, the customer service for Alienware isn't uberawesome as everyone believes. It's no better than HP, Sony, or Acer.

But, in the end, if he can, tell him to get a regular PC. You get so much more out of them for the same price, and they're generally more reliable.

I'll tell him that, thanks. If he decides to go the laptop route still, any models you'd recommend for him?

I suggest you try it again, Jabberwocky, only this time let go of your conscious self and act on instinct.
