Hapan State of Mind

latest

Long have the Hapes Consortium and Jedi been intertwined. The Force pulses strongly in the blood of Hapan nobility, particularly the Royal family. There have been many Jedi who came from the ranks of the Hapan nobles, and many Hapan nobles who trained as Jedi. There has always been a close relationship between them. However, the ideals of the Hapan people often conflict with the tenets of the Jedi Order. Hapans value beauty, are terribly xenophobic, and are a strict matriarchy. This has created growing tension between the Consortium and the Order. The expanse of the Empire, coupled with the collapse of the Republic, have forced the Consortium and Order to become closer allies. The Hapes Consortium is one of the Order’s most important allies because of their location and military power. The relationship is critical. The Jedi Council is dispatching teams of Jedi to the Hapes Cluster to strengthen this alliance.

The Hapes Consortium is ruled by the dangerously beautiful Hapan nobility. Most noble blood lines trace their origins back centuries, and are constantly vying for power. The Tarrii Line is a well respected and wealthy family based on Hapes itself. Long ago, the Tarrii line claimed the seat of the Queen Mother. They may no longer be the royal family but the Tarriis have great influence in the Consortium. They have reached out to the Jedi begging for help. One of the Tarri’s daughters was injured in a speeder accident. The injury was quickly concealed, but rumors are the daughter was gravely wounded. A disfigured daughter would be a political disaster for the family. Disfigured Hapan nobles are shunned and outcast. The Tarriis fear for their daughter. Only a Force healing can save the child. Healing the child will form an important bond with the Tarrii line and help solidify the alliance with the Consortium. The Jedi should take this opportunity to combat Hapan stereotypes.

She’s a Killer Queen

The Queen Mother is the undisputed leader of the Hapes Consortium. She lives a life that is a political balancing act. She is a target to the outside galaxy and within her own government. The Hapan nobility play a dangerous and bloody game at court. The Queen Mother is not unaccustomed to assassination attempts, some are greater than others. The Hapan Royal Guard are concerned with a brewing assassination plot. They are convinced the Sith are involved in some way. The Royal Guard would not have reached out if the situation was not dire. It is imperative the plot is uncovered and the Queen Mother is protected. This presents yet another opportunity to strengthen ties with the Consortium and combat Hapan stereotypes. It is crucial this mission is successfully completed to continue the alliance. Note: Do not NPC the Queen Mother. She does not need to appear in the thread.

Hapan society is built on a firm matriarchal system, which governs all of the planet's social customs and habits. This is true to an extreme level, in that the native woman are particularly sexist to their male counterparts. Because of the weight this oppression puts on some Hapan males, they are known for abandoning their lives to become pirates outside the planet's atmosphere. These individuals who are ready to give up their chances at a "normal" life, to receive some sense of freedom, unfortunately turn to crime against the Queen Mother and the planet as a whole. These pirates stay in the Hapan space region, and prey on unsuspecting travelers and trading ships. This has always been a steady issue, but recently there has been an increase of theft and missing pilots on the southwestern side of the planet. The queen mother has requested that the Jedi please get involved with the situation, as it has grown out of her control. Because the Jedi respect their relationship with Hapes, they accepted the request.

When the Levee Breaks

The Hapes Consortium is a corner of space featuring a wide array of planets, they fabricate a massive market of various items from all around the galaxy. From pricey guns, to exquisite gems, you can find almost anything you are looking for, sold at hefty prices on the market or even black market. However, for most of the high class businesses of the Hapan Consortium, those transactions are expected by law to take place in Ta'a Chume'Dan, the capital city. Typically they make a grand profit off of their various companies and distributions. Recently, it has become evident that they have lost a mass amount of money in a short amount of time. The Order agreed to lead an investigation to assist their allies, and find out what the issue could possibly be. Whether they are getting swindled from one of their customers, or one of the company members is stealing from them, it's the Jedi's job to solve the issue.

Wait, you're not making it? I assumed someone in leadership would make the thread to get the ball rolling.
Only if you really really really really need it. Otherwise, we have full faith in members ability to write creative and fun OPs.

I'll start an OOC thread this evening. I'm assuming NPCs are enabled in their new deadly capacity. Will one of us be filling the role of controlling the NPCs as well

In a thread such as this the two participants are the ones who drive the story and control the NPC's. It's up to you guys to tell the story of the mission in a quality manner, I think the minimum requirement we ask for is 15 posts of acceptable length. So just like not one or two liners

You shouldn't need an OOC unless you plan on inviting some Sith to oppose you. It's an ASK mission so you don't need to have opposition. I'm not sure what you mean by "NPCs in their new capacity." Your opposition is, of course, NPCs but they are not being controlled by a third party.

Edit: What @Relent said.
