Ruzaan was clearly not having a good day. Perhaps he had just woken up on the wrong side of the bed, or perhaps it was the heat and lack of water that was causing his sour mood. Or maybe it was a combination of all those different factors. Regardless, the padawan did not take kindly to the question of whether the missions he went on were important to the order. The Togruta was doing just as good at making friends as Emilia was.

As the group continued on their trek they came to the base of a steep hill. Emilia led the way and the trio began to climb. Once they had crested the hill a tower came into view not far off from their current position. There was also a patrol of guards who seemed to pay no attention to the three aliens.

Emilia continued leading the way to the tower where they were once again greeted by a pair of guards. It seemed that the Sephi had an appointment with whatever entity resided in this tower. Tiberius expected to wait outside while the white haired woman entered the tower. She stated that Ruzaan would stay outside because of his mouth, but Tiberius was surprised when she requested that the Jedi knight join her.

Tiberius looked from Emilia to Ruzaan. He was a little hesitant at first. He didn’t want to leave his young Jedi friend, but he remembered that the padawan had proven that he could handle himself in the past. Joining the Sephi inside could reveal more of what was going on here and what the Jedi had gotten themselves into. The Togruta had already plopped himself down on the ground with an annoyed look on his face.

Tiberius looked back to Emilia and nodded, acknowledging that he would be joining her. Passing by the padawan Tiberius bent over momentarily and said “we’ll be back. Go get yourself a drink.” The knight pressed some credits into the Ruzaans chest. He hoped that if the Togruta hydrated some he might be in a better mood when they returned.

The knight followed after the Sephi and the two disappeared into the tower.

Emilia listened to the boy, even if it didn't seem like she did. Despite her thoughts on his answer or the quickened beating of her heart, she decided to push the subject from her mind for now.

The tower was not a tower simply for looks. That was clear once Emilia and Tiberius entered. A small droid approached them, whirling and beeping. Emilia understood it was telling them to follow. She did so, into an elevator. The small sephi was use to small spaces, just, she didn't like elevators. They made her feel trapped and vulnerable.

Still, she remembered her masters training and remained stoic and still as the lift brought them to the very top floor. A hiss released from the elevators door as it open, revealing the top floor layout. At the edge of the room in front of a window, one man sat at a desk. Part of his face and his right eye was covered in a bandage. He was clearly a quarren, which would've struck Emilia as odd considering the planet they were on, if she hadn't already spoken to him once.

"Emilia!" the Quarren said out loud, "Welcome, welcome," he added, placing his feet on his own desk. He leaned back and smiled. His appearance did not relay that of an honest man, obviously. He resembled something of a pirate. Of course, a simple look at his appearance could not reveal that much. Beside him stood a droid, a model that was usually used for assassinations.

Emilia said nothing in return. She took a seat in one of the chairs in front of the desk. The quarren was still in a cheery mood despite Emilia's quiet entrance. "Brought a boyfriend I see," the quarren said with a smile. He briefly locked eye contact with Tiberius. "Ah, too bad," the man added.

Once again Emilia said nothing. The stoicism of her expression remained the same, for good or bad. The quarren cleared his throat before continuing, "We're interested in doing business with you, if you can deliver on your promise of aid."

Emilia nodded slightly, still remaining quiet to allow the quarren to expand on his desires. "There are off world raiders hitting our towns. They must be dealt with. But there is a problem far greater than the raiders that my people are facing: a krayt dragon. Some sod or reason has moved it over into our land and we do not have enough men to deal with it, or the amount of destruction its brought."

Hearing about a krayt dragon actually made the small sephi take a soft breath in surprise. She knew how large they were, how dangerous they were, and never expected to encounter one. At the same time, she'd promised aid, and connections to the sempidal trades was a huge step towards her goals. She had to do it. "I'll deal with both your problems," Emilia said plainly, regardless of her hesitation.

Ruzaan wasn't exactly sure what to do with the credits that Tiberius bestowed upon him, because he doubted that the guards at the door would let him in. Instead, after taking a drink of what little remained in Emilia's loaned waterskin, he closed his eyes and tried to meditate. A whole host of emotions and challenges awaited him; he could do little to refresh his fatigued body until he could more easily connect to the light side of the Force.

First, he was stressed. In what was growing into a repeated challenge for him, Ruzaan was growing more aware of the perilous state of the galaxy. He worried for his friends who were called into conflicts across the galaxy, and he worried for those who stood in the path of the Sith Empire. His mission earlier in the day, intended to increase goodwill on behalf of the Jedi Order, had been met with mixed results; a sign of the growing mistrust in the Jedi Order.

Second, he felt frustrated. Emilia was treating him like a child, not the Jedi Padawan that he was. He had no idea what Tiberius saw to gain by helping the woman, who seemed to have some sort of secret agenda and hadn't been forthcoming on what her motivations were. It wasn't as if she needed their help, either, if Emilia was to be believed... so why were they wasting their time chasing around after someone who seemed to view them as pawns?

Third, Ruzaan felt disappointed in himself. Despite his aches, dehydration, and overall mental strain, as time passed and he simmered down, he realized that he hadn't exactly been a model Jedi around Emilia. He'd allowed his emotions to dictate his interactions with her, and that wasn't the kind of example he should be setting. Part of him still detested the idea of apologizing, but he eventually remembered that he couldn't control Emilia at all; just his responses to situations and people.

After their meeting, however long that took, Emilia and Tiberius would find Ruzaan right where they left him, meditating outside the door.

As the pair of Jedi entered the tower Tiberius first thoughts were about Ruzaan. The knight hoped that the time that the Sephi and Togruta spent apart would result in better relations between them. He was mainly hoping for improvement on Ruzaan’s part. Tiberius really didn’t have much hope for Emilia changing at all, but that just seemed to be her natural personality. The thought wandered across the Jedi’s mind that he would hate to be on the Sephi’s bad side.

Tiberius thoughts of interpersonal relations soon gave way to other thoughts, like how glad he was that they were taking an elevator. “Glad we don’t have to take the stair.” He said as the metal doors of the elevator closed upon their entrance. His comment was met with silence and the metal box began to ascend up the tower. Only a few seconds later and the elevator came to a stop. There was a hiss as the doors in front of them opened. The pair stepped out and were immediately in what seemed like a large office.

Behind the lone desk sat a Quarren who greeted Emilia. Tiberius followed the Sephi’s lead as they walked over to the desk. The Quarren’s greeting was met with silence from the young woman. Tiberius didn’t know how she planned to foster relations with the man across the desk if she didn’t engage with him. However, The Quarren didn’t seem phased by Emilia’s lack of greeting.

Tiberius took a seat next to Emilia in the adjacent chair. The eyes of the two men locked for a brief moment as the Quarren assumed Tiberius to be the Sephi’s boyfriend. The knight made no answer, but didn’t know how he felt about this assumption. Surely the man was only jesting, trying to maintain a jovial atmosphere. Again, there was no answer from the Sephi.

The Quarren almost seemed defeated by the lack of response from the white haired woman. Now he took on a more serious tone as he expressed his interest in doing business with Emilia. He continued and mentioned what he needed help with. Raiders were no problem, but Tiberius shifted slightly in his seat at the mention of a krayt dragon. Tiberius did not turn his head, but his eyes darted in Emilia’s direction to try and see her reaction. The next thing he heard was the Sephi agreeing to help the Quarren deal with his problems. *how does she expect the three of us to take on a krayt dragon?* he thought to himself.

"I assume you have more men to help," the pirate-like quarren added.

Emilia's immediate thoughts went to the boy outside. Perhaps he behaved poorly, but that didn't mean he wasn't capable of pulling his weight in combat. They might actually have a chance against a krayt dragon together, as mighty as one might be. But her thoughts were cut short.

The quarren continued on, "If you need more there are plenty of mercenaries around here that might risk it if motivated enough." And there was a reason that so many mercs travelled through here. A reason that Emilia was fully aware of. This little trade hub didn't exactly move legal goods all of the time. If these two Jedi didn't pick up on it, or better yet, did not mind, perhaps things would go better for her than expected.

"I'll keep that in mind," Emilia answered in her usual stoic tone. The quarren was picking up on the small sephi's personality, or lack thereof. But, a cold, straight-to-the-point attitude was not something unusual for him to encounter, especially among outlaws; more specifically, those more experienced in battle and the sting of betrayal. A sting that was common within certain facets of galaxy and all too often left one colder each and every time.

"But. my new friends, Sernpidal is a moody planet. I assume as newcomers you're unaware of how quickly she goes from day to night here, and nightfall comes soon." The quarren gestured towards the north, and if either Emilia or Tiberius looked through the window at that side they'd see a town in the distance. "That is Tal-Lash Town, and there is an inn there should you want to rest in beds tonight, or," the man gestured just behind him. "A camp not too far from here that's not being used, if you'd prefer that."

Emilia nodded and answered with a, "Thank you, captain Kell'ish." Kell'ish nodded, "There's also a bar if you want to wet your tongue on the worst swill in the galaxy," he laughed, seemingly unfazed by Emilia's attitude at this point.

"Then, come back when you have a dragon's head," the man laughed happily again. As friendly as he appeared however, part of him doubted Emilia's success, but he had very little choice because very few were crazy enough to go after a krayt dragon. "Mm," was all that left Emilia in reply.

Once again Emilia nodded and she and the captain finalized their deal with a handshake and a good-luck from him. The captain handed over a datapad with information on both the raiders and the dragon. Locations, numbers, size and more.

Emilia and Tiberius were lead back to the elevator and out of the building. The small sephi passed the guards, then passed the boy meditating. Without stopping or looking back, Emilia spoke when she made a turn towards one of the directions the captain had gestured. "I'm staying in the camp," Emilia said plainly, uncaring which sleeping option the two Jedi would pick.

As expected, Emilia would give no explanation of what had been discussed outside of Ruzaan's presence, walking on by without so much as acknowledging him. That was ok with Ruzaan; he was over the Sephi's rudeness.

Mostly.

The Togruta stood up a few seconds after Emilia made her announcement, watching her walk in what he presumed was the direction of the camp. Resisting the urge to respond, Ruzaan instead turned his attention to Tiberius. "Well, today has been... interesting" he said, using one of the kinder descriptions that came to mind. At least they were now free of Emilia's presence, and could go about their duties as Jedi. Ruzaan started to walk in the direction of the town, unaware of the agreement that had been struck and intending to leave Sernpidal as soon as possible. "What's next for you?" he asked, trying to make conversation. Maybe the Knight was also returning to Yavin.

Tiberius remained silent for the remainder of the discussion. There was not too much for him to say anyway. Instead he spent most of his time processing what was being said and thinking about how they were going to take down a krayt dragon.

The Quarren began talking about hiring mercenaries to help them. Tiberius didn’t know what Emilia’s financial situation was, but he knew that he certainly didn’t have enough money to hire enough mercenaries to take down a krayt dragon.

At the end of the talks the Captain was nice enough to point the two force users in the direction of all the important points of interest. Tiberius nodded in acknowledgement of this information. Looking out the large window behing the Quarren Tiberius did notice that the sun was on its decent below the horizon. The Quarren told them to come back when the job was done. There was clearly doubt in his voice as he concluded.

The talks concluded Emilia and Tiberius exited the room by entering the elevator that would take them down. Tiberius wondered what kind of thoughts were going through the Sephi’s mind. Had he known what the Quarren’s request was prior to her arrival, or was she just as surprised as Tiberius was?

The Sephi made her way passed the guards and Ruzaan who was meditating on the ground. She turned towards the camp ground that the Captain had indicated and stated her intention to stay there. Tiberius raised an eyebrow at her. “Are you sure?” he asked. “Town would be much more comfortable.” He pointed towards Tal-Lash Town with his thumb. Surely a good night’s rest in a comfortable bed would be better the night before hunting down a krayt dragon.

Assuming Emilia followed through with her plan to go to the camp Tiberius would say. “If you change your mind we’ll be at the inn.”

Hearing the voice of the Togruta Tiberius turned to face him. The knight nodded. “You got that right.” The two began to walk towards town. The padawan then asked what Tiberius was going to do next. The knight looked down at the sand as they walked. He was thinking of how to tell Ruzaan what was going on. “Well…” He began and then paused. “Emilia has agreed to help the locals here.” Tiberius was trying to ease into the topics. “by dealing with some raiders, and killing a krayt dragon.” The last part of Tiberius statement came out as more of a mumble more than anything.

“You’re welcome to come if you want.” Tiberius added quickly in an attempt to let Ruzaan know that he was not obligated to join in the hunt. He had a feeling that the Togruta wouldn’t be thrilled about the krayt dragon part, but helping Emilia could also end up helping the Jedi order by gaining some influence and allies on this planet.

Emilia ignored everything the Knight called out. She'd already made up her mind when the leader had offered the camp as an option. She didn't want to be around anymore people right now, so she felt relieved when the two Jedi choose the town. She could meditate in solitude, and she needed to especially now that more doubts were slowly creeping into her thoughts.

A krayt dragon? What if she failed? Well, she'd go to another planet, if she survived. But sernpidal was in the perfect location for her plans. Emilia tried to push her racing thoughts aside, placing more wood in the camps fire pit. She focused on the sound of the wood falling on one another, and then all the other white noises in the area as she started a fire.

VvsXl6o.gif

Finally after a long day, the small sephi let herself sit down and relax. She crossed her legs, bringing her twin lightsabers to her hands with the Force with the same swiftness she'd use before a fight. Both hilts made a soft noise in the sand as she placed them in front of her. The colours of the fire reflected in her hilts and Emilia simply stared at them.

Why was she so at unease right now? Emilia closed her eyes and searched her feelings.

Inside her mind Emilia sat alone. All around her was nothing but whiteness. It was calm, peaceful, but only for a few moments. The purity of her surroundings began to flicker. She sensed fear inside her. She had to admit she was somewhat scared to do this and fail. That realization was interrupted by a male voice she instantly recognized.

"Emilia," the male voice became stronger, and inside her mind a gray-cloaked Sephi Jedi Master seemed to materialize. "Master," Emilia replied, remaining calm outwardly despite how much she missed him and the whirl of other emotions.

"Fear is natural, powerful at times," the figure that looked like her master continued with his reminder, "I know, master," Emilia answered.

"But I have taught you that there is something more powerful than fear," he continued. Emilia's eyes looked down into the pure white beneath her. "The Force."

Emilia breathed out physically, and the figure of her master in her mind vanished. Her surroundings were once again peaceful. Nothing but a warm light. The Force, the Light Side, swirled around Emilia. Both her lightsabers became caught up in it. They swept upwards into the air in front of her.

Ruzaan frowned slightly as he tried to process Tiberius' words; his brain moving slower than normal at the end of a long, trying day. Tiberius had said that Emilia had agreed to do some missions to help the locals, so why did Tiberius sound so dejected about it? Unless... "You didn't agree to help her, did you?" As soon as he asked the question, Ruzaan knew what the answer was going to be, and he sighed. Once again, the Sephi had bitten off more than she could chew, and it'd be up to him and Tiberius to clean up the mess.

And Tiberius' follow-up statement did not convince Ruzaan at all; he hadn't felt welcomed by Emilia at any point. The dark clouds of Ruzaan's previous bad mood began gathering again; she probably only wants me along so I can be the bait he thought.

Ruzaan waited until they were comfortably out of earshot before once again asking Tiberius to explain himself. "Why do you want to help this woman so much? All we have is her word that she's not a Sith; we don't know who she's working for, or what her goals are. She's also kind of rude. I don't understand." Tiberius' previous comments about her being on their side had done little to convince the Togruta that the Sephi was to be trusted.

The two men continued walking towards town. A trail of their foot prints were left in the sand as the journeyed. The sky above them had turned a mixture of purples and pinks as twilight came upon them. It would soon be dark. It was clear that both Jedi were ready for the day to be over with.

Ruzaan asked whether Tiberius had agreed to help Emilia. Although he didn’t out right agree to help the stranger he figured it was implied by his lack of objection. The knight shrugged. “What was I supposed to do, say no?” Saying no was one of those things that Tiberius had a problem with. He liked to please people, which obviously wasn’t always a good thing.

It was clear that this information was not pleasing to the young Togruta. There was a moment’s silence The gears were turning in the padawan’s head. He was thinking of something. While Ruzaan was lost in his thoughts Tiberius pulled out his data pad. He accessed the Jedi data banks.

Ruzaan spoke up again, this time asking why Tiberius wanted to help Emilia, and that all they had was her word about her not being a sith. Tiberius was listening, but he was searching the data banks for Emilia. The Jedi’s eyes widened as he found the Sephi’s profile. She was in fact a Jedi. However, Tiberius didn’t share this information with Ruzaan immediately.

“Emilia is trying to make allies of the people of this planet. If we’re able to pull this off with Emilia we will help spread the influence of the order and possibly gain ourselves an ally. Not to mention we’d be helping one of our own.” With the last part of the statement Tiberius turned his datapad towards Ruzaan and showed him Emilia’s profile. There was a picture of Emilia to the left of the screen and all the information that the Jedi Order had on the Sephi located on the right side of the screen.

The pair of Jedi had reached the outskirts of town at this point. Although a small town businesses were still bustling even as the daylight waned.

After some time, Emilia felt centered again. Her eyes opened and the view of the softly shifting sands replaced her meditative world. It was far darker here, colder, so it took a moment before she reached out both her hands. In reaction, her twin lightsabers slowly fell into the palms of the hands they belonged to. Emilia looked back up to the fire as she clipped her hilts back onto her belt.

With the inky darkness creeping across the desert Emilia decided it was about time for dinner. She reached to her belt and took off a small pouch. There wasn't much in it, just some scraps of meat. It was enough for Emilia, at least.

She took a bite out of a piece and lowered her hand as she chewed the rough meat.

"Squeak..."

The out of place sound made Emilia jerk to the side to see what made it. Her heart beat faster than- well, it was what it sounded like. A small rat-like creature. Fluffy, gray, with big stupid eyes. Emilia saw it staring at her food. She grunted at the little creature, looked away and took another bite of her jerky.

Seemingly undeterred by Emilia's reaction, it tipped it's fluffy head to the side and squeaked again.

Emilia still stared at the fire, ignoring it, until her eyes drifted back to its face that was still staring at her. The small sephi sighed when she saw it, ripped off a piece of the jerky and threw it near the creature with another grunt. "That's all you're getting," she said, looking back at the fire.

There had been a time when Ruzaan had trusted someone just because they could use the Force and didn't appear to be a Sith... and that totally hadn't come back to bite him later. Like Tiberius, he liked helping people, but he also liked knowing exactly what- and who- he was fighting for. Vague assurances of "helping the locals" did little to assuage his feelings of being left in the dark. Even the profile that Tiberius pulled on on his datapad couldn't fully put Ruzaan at ease.

"There's hardly any information there" he noted. "It's an old picture, her current whereabouts are unknown, and I've never even heard of a Master Vomrin." Sure, he'd only been part of a very large Order for a couple years, but Ruzaan conveniently overlooked that fact to try and make a point.

By now they were coming up to the inn, and Ruzaan decided to cut his protests short. "All I'm saying is that I don't like not knowing what I'm getting into. You might trust her, but I don't... not yet, anyway."

It took Ruzaan a lot of tossing and turning to fall asleep that night. He had a bad feeling about this.

Ruzaan remained unconvinced that Emilia was on their side despite the evidence presented by Tiberius. The knight turned the datapad back around to face himself. He shrugged “You might be right, but it’s better than knowing nothing about her.”

The two Jedi came to the inn and the Togruta expressed his feelings before heading off to bed. Tiberius went to his own room where he plopped down on the bed thinking about what he had gotten himself into. Surely Emilia had a plan or she wouldn’t have agreed to such a task, right?

Darkness had settled on the town and Tiberius lay in his bed. There were no lights on in the room, but his face was illuminated by the datapad. He was trying to dig up more dirt on Emilia. Evidently, Emilia’s master had left to order and taken Emilia with him shortly after she became his padawan. “That explains why we’ve never heard of him” Tiberius said to himself.

After a pretty fruitless scouring of the Jedi data bank Tiberius began researching krayt dragons and how best to deal with them. Most of the information that he found on the topic told him to avoid it at all costs. “Well that’s no help.” He would say to himself. He eventually drifted off to sleep and had a bizarre dream about going to a circus where there was a krayt dragon wearing a top hat that was made to jump though hoops.

After falling asleep, it felt like morning came quickly. The small sephi pushed herself up, feeling a strange ball-thing fall to her lap. It squeaked and ran away once it made impact, at which point Emilia realized it was the rat creature. It must have used her stomach like a bed for the night. She sighed and stood up.

A man in the distance, who looked like a local, approached her as soon as he noticed she was awake. Emilia's hand lingered near her lightsaber until he explained what he was doing there. She nodded once he was done then went to the lead speeder bike of the group. Two more speeders were attached to it with cords, and once Emilia put on some goggles she started up the engine.

The speeder bike picked up speed. Sand kicked up around her white robes and air whipped by her. Though she didn't go full throttle considering she was pulling two other speeders behind her. It didn't take much time to get into the town. And it was small, so Emilia simply found the inn and parked in front of it.

"Hey!" she shouted towards the inn, not caring enough to get off her bike and go in. "Its time to go!"

Ruzaan was pretty certain that he fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow, leaving Tiberius to his research and musings on Emilia. What followed was one of the better nights of sleep that he'd had in a while, and even the rude greeting from Emilia wasn't enough to dampen his spirits... although the ensuing walk of shame that followed as other patrons angrily tried to figure out who was yelling and why did limit his greeting to a small wave; it seemed that Emilia didn't choose to be subtle all of the time.

The Togruta set about unhooking one of the speeders for Tiberius, and then the other for himself. He found a pair of old goggles underneath the seat, and adjusted them to fit over his montrals before starting the engine. The controls were simple, fortunately, and Ruzaan readied himself to follow after Emilia and Tiberius. "What's the plan for today?" he asked, hardly daring to hope that he'd get anything more than the simplest response the Sephi could think up.

Tiberius had been awake for a little bit already. Despite the strange dreams he had last night he woke up fairly well rested. He was in the process of getting ready for the day, which included showering, brushing his teeth, things like that, when he hear the familiar voice of Emilia outside. After slipping into his clothes he made his way down to the lobby where he snagged a waffle from the continental breakfast to eat on his short walk outside.

He met up with Emilia and Ruzaan. The togruta had been kind enough to untether one of the speeder bikes for Tiberius. “Good morning.” He greeted the other two. Emilia looked her normal stoic self while Ruzaan looked in a noticeably better mood than yesterday.

Like Ruzaan, Tiberius had found a pair of goggles that he slipped on and pulled down over his eyes. He heard the padawan’s question, but he made no answer. He figured that decision would be up to Emilia who had been orchestrating this mission. The knight turned his goggled eyes towards the Sephi expecting some kind of answer.

At first, the padawan's question went unanswered. Instead of answering, Emilia faced forward on her speeder and pulled out a small purple scarf. She wrapped it around her lower face, under her goggles and tied it behind her head. Her speeder rumbled when she started it up again and pressed forward without saying a word.

Wind whipped across her lithe body and through her platinum hair. Something about the rush of air, the speed, made the small sephi feel more awake. Emilia kicked up the speed. And if the boys wanted to know where they were going, they'd have to do the same to keep up with her. Sand kicked up at the side of her speeder when she turned into a gap in a mountain without warning. The speeder bike jerked from side to side as she dodged the various obstacles.

"These goggles are equipped with comms. They were made by the people of this planet," her voice crackled over the three-way comm between the Jedi. "The goggles, speeders and some equipment you'll find on them was donated to us by various villages and villagers around here. They wished us luck, and send thanks."

Ahead the small sephi spotted a small hill, almost ramp-like, and she turned towards it. It brought her upwards further than expected, but Emilia kept going and soon found herself catching air. The speeder flew out of the part in the mountain, into an open area and made a groan when it came back into contact with the desert. It sent Emilia even further ahead of the boys, and for some reason, almost made her smile.

"The villagers have also been stockpiling explosive near the krayt dragon cave while waiting for someone to be hired to kill it," Emilia continued. Now on a large, empty sand field. "They said that the krayt dragon is weakest on it's belly, so they suggest burying the explosives in the sand and set them off when it's near. They don't think the explosives are strong enough to kill it though, but they might injure it and give us a better chance."

Ruzaan quickly determined that being anywhere other than the front of a speeder caravan on Sernpidal was not a fun place to be, and he struggled to see and breathe amidst the plumes of dust and sand that were kicked up by Emilia and Tiberius' speeders. Then he nearly fell off of his speeder bike in surprise as Emilia's voice crackled in his ear; there were comms in the goggles? Technology never failed to astound him. At least the other Jedi hadn't heard him cursing, since opening his mouth to say anything would've been repaid with a mouthful of sand.

Eventually, covered in the dirt and dust of Sernpidal, Ruzaan slowed his speeder to a halt next to Emilia and Tiberius, listening to Emilia's briefing while shaking sand out of various places. However, at the mention of the villagers' plan, the Togruta wrinkled his nose. "Explosives?" he asked, pausing to retch up some sand before continuing. "That's no way to hunt! It's inhumane!"

The Sephi offered no answer to Ruzaan’s question. Instead, she went speeding off. Tiberius looked over at the Togruta and shrugged. “Guess we’ll find out.” He hopped on his speeder bike and hit the throttle. Tiberius held on as the bike sped off. To bystanders he would have looked like a blur. He had started gaining on Emilia, and then she increased her velocity.

Without warning the Sephi cut in front of Tiberius and shot through a small opening in the cliff face beside them. Tiberius missed the turn and had to circle back around to get to where Emilia had disappeared to. *If I didn’t know better I’d think she was trying to loose us.* Tiberius thought to himself. That would be silly, though, right? I mean who would show up with speeder bikes for all three of them and then try to lose them in the mountains?

Tiberius made it to the other side and then he hear a disembodied voice. It was the familiar monotone of Emilia. “Fancy.” Tiberius stated when he was informed about the coms in the goggles. Emilia went on to explain that their equipment was donated by various villages to wish them luck on the hunt.

Again the Sephi seemed like she was doing her best to get rid of the two Jedi that accompanied her. She sped up a hill and went flying through the air. Emilia went on to explain that there was a stock pile of explosives waiting for them. Ruzaan was quick to voice his opinion. Tiberius disagreed with the Togruta. They weren’t here for the thrill of the hunt, they were here to get rid of a beast that was terrorizing the nearby villages. “How do you plan to lure it out?” Tiberius asked. He knew that krayt dragons had a predilection for banthas, but so far he had not seen any.

Emilia frowned beneath the the purple scarf over her face. "I will do what is necessary to protect the people of this planet," she replied to Ruzaan.

The will of the people was to get rid of the predator that had eaten their livestock, children, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers. Their loved ones. If that took explosives, Emilia was willing. It wasn't up to her to decide if the practice was ethical enough to save the lives of more villagers.

The small Jedi continued forward on her speeder, towards where the pile of explosives were. She heard Tiberius' question while she was covering ground. "I was told that there are several larger animals we might come across on our way to the cave, but the creature has developed a taste for humanoids."

She began to slow her bike as they came up to the large containers full of explosives. "If Ruzaan makes enough noise in front of the dragons cave," she continued, pointing into the far distance towards the cave. "I'm certain we could lure it out."

Emilia turned off her speeder beside a large container and hopped off. She began to examine the explosives, and the triggers provided. They'd have to connect the explosives to certain triggers before burying them, but she was fairly educated on doing that exact thing so it didn't bother her. It wasn't that odd that she dealt with explosives or other weaponry.
