Hello there folks! Glad to be here! I’m not very good at introductions so I’ll try to be brief. I’m a lover of Star Wars and of fiction in general, a lover of some of that good roleplaying, be it on the computer or on the table! Lastly, I’ve loved writing since childhood, although I’ve committed to it only as a hobby. I’ve been hurting to return to the Star Wars universe for some time, but the pandemic has not allowed me. However, I ended up stumbling on this beautiful site of yours here and I’ve been intrigued, taking my time to do my research and understand how everything works before showing my face. Now that I’m getting more acclimated, I’ve still got some questions I haven’t managed to answer just yet, so I think it’s due time I ask them!
What is the current status of MandalMotors and other Mandalorian companies?
I’ve noticed most Mandalorian characters do not make their suit fully out of Beskar, is that a particular rule and would it be okay to make one if the armor was an ancient clan inheritance, thus no advanced functionalities? I could see why it would be restricted though, since Beskar used to be presented as way too overpowered in some Legends material.
Would it be okay to, before delving into my character itself, make a Personal Lore post regarding his particular Mandalorian clan, who arose to great prominence during the last years of the Republic, mostly trough business, commerce, R&D and diplomacy while under Satine Kryze, then as warriors under Bo-Katan Kryze, only to then be almost utterly annihilated during the Mandalorian Purge and barely managing to survive in the ensuing years?
Also, I wanted to question how player-owned corporations work (I recall seeing at least one instance of this), example being: the character I’m currently planning is a Mandalorian, but he was raised to be less of a warrior and more thoughtful, learning things like engineering, commerce and politics. In his backstory, he’d try to spend some years as a Bounty Hunter only to realize he lacks the cold heart to follow such a profession, joining the Sector Rangers in order to fight for a cause he deems honorable while attempting to raise money to begin to establish his very own technology corporation. Would something like this be allowed? Roleplaying my way into owning a smallish Mandalorian corporation. And would that entail leaving the Sector Rangers at one point?
Lastly, I browsed through all of the Technology entries on the Atlas and I couldn’t find a single instance, even under restricted posts, of a handheld rotary blaster cannon like the BlasTech Z-6 or of disruptor rifles, are those unallowed by any chance or just that someone hasn’t gotten around to post a write-up of something like that?
