Does anyone here play it? It's Blizzard's new MOBA. It's pretty well designed with enough unique twist to it to make it stand out to LoL and DotA 2. I've just started playing it and it's rather entertaining.

I've picked up yea, but I haven't really played much of it - at least no real battles just fiddling with the training.

It's definitely pretty cool, like you said - nice twists from LoL.

The unique objectives (and their importance in-game) for each map is a really great idea. It doesn't feel at all gimicky and yet no other MOBA has done it.

I played the beta for a few hours. As somebody who had never touched a MOBA before I can't say I was impressed. I gave it two-three hours but boy did it get old quick.

MOBAs are repetitive and, generally speaking, aren't the easiest to get into if you aren't playing with friends.

Yeah, I play a little bit here and there. I'm still more into League than HotS, but the champions are fun and it's pretty easy to pick up and play without having to worry about the meta, since there really isn't one.

There is a meta but it exists solely in the different talent builds for each hero. The more you play a hero the more options you unlock. However the meta isn't nearly as important.

I disagree. The different talents you can select create a different build. As you level a character you get more selection, but they aren't better abilities. They've replaced items from DotA and LoL.

Raynor is a good example. Depending on which talents you chose while leveling up during the game you can turn Raynor into a heavy-hitting assassin with ridiculous attack or a tank-y assassin with ridiculous health regen and defense. The way you play Raynor changes depending on which talents you use.

Now, it isn't nearly as deep as LoL and DotA, which is why I say HotS does not focus on the meta nearly as much.

The only champion I enjoy is Kerrigan. Maybe I'm just biased, because some of her skills are either great or just kinda stupid.

I've seen some smatterings from it on Youtube and a lot of MOBAs could learn a thing or two. Sadly, I don't know if I'll ever invest too much time into it as most of my MOBA play is in League and even then it is almost exclusively on ARAM (we drink when we play most times and ARAM players generally give less of a shit and most of the meta is removed from the game) and with at least someone know.
