DESCRIPTION​

The Hornet-class interceptor is a starfighter which was originally developed and manufactured by the criminal Tenloss Syndicate during the Galactic Civil War, primarily for their own use. In the decades since, the type has found its way into service with criminals, bounty hunters and fringers throughout the Galaxy.

Designed primarily to counter the TIE/LN starfighter operated by the Empire, the Hornet is light, fast and highly maneuverable craft. Despite its exotic, insectoid appearance, the Hornet is relatively cheap to build and maintain, using as many off-the-shelf parts from Tenloss' various shipbuilding front companies as possible. In spite of its parts-bin origins, however, the Hornet still boasts impressive specs, especially for the time it was designed, including light shields, a top speed of 105 MGLT and a fully detachable cockpit pod which can function as an emergency escape system. Though it lacks heavy armor or a hyperdrive, the type is nevertheless superior to what was its main competition at the time, the TIE/LN.

LEGALITY​

Illegal. Being a product of a criminal organization, the Hornet-class interceptor requires extensive licensing to operate legally, and will instantly draw the scrutiny of most law enforcement regardless.
